00:00:00.000 Four years ago today, to the date, I was downtown Ottawa with my friend Igor, and we were live
00:00:08.660 streaming the crackdown on peaceful protesters at the trucker convoy.
00:00:17.760 That was an ugly day. A lot of people came together, a lot of people from different
00:00:23.320 backgrounds came together on that day, and they really saw how ugly the government was,
00:00:29.820 how authoritarian the government was. Four years later, that authoritarianism hasn't really been
00:00:40.380 addressed by any members of the political establishment. I have kind of crashed out for
00:00:48.760 the past few years at the Conservative Party and the leader now, Pierre Polyev, for never really
00:00:56.800 saying, like, hey, Trudeau is a tyrant, because he really, some actions he took were definitely
00:01:04.580 tyrannical. You could make that argument. And the left will call the right tyrannical for way less.
00:01:10.900 But I feel like it's never really been addressed. To this day, the sort of popular narrative around
00:01:17.220 the convoy with the average Canadian, I don't really know what it is. I feel like it still
00:01:22.780 might be the CBC-approved narrative that these were a bunch of racist hicks who wanted to overthrow
00:01:28.960 the government. It was people standing up for bodily autonomy, for those unaware. Their mandates
00:01:35.840 are no longer around, thanks to the convoy. It actually helped inspire many movements around the world
00:01:42.000 enough of this fucking, you know, COVID vaccine nonsense. But anyway, it was a very clear example
00:01:50.620 to me and many other people that if you disagree with the ruling ideology, if you disagree with
00:01:57.540 the government, they will crush you. They will crush you physically, they will crush you
00:02:04.140 metaphorically, they will crush spiritually, they'll crush you in all sorts of ways. And right now I'm
00:02:09.420 working on the final cut of my documentary, which is really all about this phenomena that, you know,
00:02:15.340 we don't really live in that free of a country. If, if you have the wrong opinion, and various
00:02:22.120 government institutions will come after you. Sometimes it'll just be your own local school
00:02:28.100 board coming after you for having the wrong opinion. But anyway, I just wanted to kind of remember
00:02:33.840 this day specifically, when that crackdown happened. I mean, it was it was the few days at the end of the
00:02:42.020 convoy that were really quite detestable. And I guess there was the announcement of the emergencies
00:02:47.600 act several days before that as well. But yeah, we can't soon forget that, folks. They are now trying
00:02:54.680 to resurrect Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act. They're propping up children to try and use children
00:03:00.880 to push censorship laws across the internet, and to redefine hatred. With Bill C-63 failing to move
00:03:09.740 through Parliament, there's no meaningful policy that adequately addresses the concerns and needs
00:03:14.000 of young people. As a result, youth are navigating escalated online harms without cohesive protection.
00:03:21.200 If anybody feels harmed, then you're now a criminal potentially if you say something harmful. This
00:03:27.320 needs to be stopped because if we don't have free speech, then pushing back against any amount of
00:03:32.120 other issues is going to become impossible. It'll give the government a big toolbox to smash anybody that
00:03:39.480 they don't like. They already do this with the tools available to them. But this will give them
00:03:45.160 even more to work with. I apologize to those who have not seen my documentary yet and want to see

00:04:27.220 disagree anymore in this country culturally and also the government is getting geared up to rip our
00:04:32.580 tongues out. So yeah, never forget the trucker convoy and what they did to peaceful protesters four years
00:04:39.040 ago.
