00:00:00.000 What do you know? One of Mark Carney's top priorities first week back in Parliament is to
00:00:04.640 take away the free speech of Canadians. This is from today. Proposed anti-hate legislation could
00:00:10.580 help police in cloudy areas. The bill is slated to include three new hate-related criminal code
00:00:15.880 offenses, willful intimidation, obstruction, and standalone hate occurring near places of worship.
00:00:21.120 So bottom line, this is going to give law enforcement more tools in their toolkit to
00:00:27.420 charge people who are protesting. I don't care what your cause is, it gives them a whole bunch
00:00:32.520 of more tools to charge you more for protest. For those unaware of what happened at the trucker
00:00:39.220 convoy, we have people like Tamara Lich and Chris Barber and others being charged with mischief,
00:00:44.100 criminal mischief, for their protest in Ottawa. Think what you want of that protest, but the
00:00:49.440 government, the crown prosecutors, are clearly trying to make examples of these people for
00:00:54.600 political reasons. They're even going as far as trying to take Chris Barber's truck and destroy
00:01:01.380 it because it represents the freedom movement. And I bring this up because this is a perfect example
00:01:07.740 of how these laws are actually enforced and how power actually works. If the government doesn't like
00:01:14.480 you and your protest movement, or if certain groups don't like your protest movement, they will go above
00:01:20.000 and beyond to use these different tools to punish you and even try to destroy your property and treat
00:01:26.020 you like a criminal. Need I remind you that there are no vaccine mandates where we couldn't even leave
00:01:31.860 the country at the time during the trucker convoy. That's no longer a thing. I.e. Tamara Lich and Chris
00:01:37.360 Barber ended up being on the side of the majority of the country now since there are no longer mandates.
00:01:42.400 Despite that, they were protesters who were punished for standing up for that cause and especially
00:01:48.580 punished, I guess, because they kind of exposed the corruption and the nefarious nature, authoritarian
00:01:54.440 nature of the Canadian government at the time. And again, maybe you really didn't like the convoy.
00:02:00.080 I bring all of that up to try and let you understand how this stuff actually works when it comes to law
00:02:05.880 enforcement. A new law like this, this anti-hate legislation that targets protesters, it's good
00:02:11.660 for two groups. It's good. Well, maybe three groups. It's good for the government. It gives them more tools
00:02:17.540 in their toolkit to charge those, those pesky citizens who are trying to protest for things they're
00:02:23.120 passionate about. It's good for lawyers who are going to cash in on it. And then it's also useful for
00:02:29.340 various political factions. It's going to be, if this, God forbid, if this passes, it's going to be
00:02:35.540 actually very good for both Palestine supporters and also Israel supporters. It's going to give them
00:02:41.180 all these tools to try and war with each other using lawfare in various ways. Oh, I'm going to
00:02:46.300 charge them for this. I'm going to charge them for that. The result, of course, would be a chilling effect
00:02:50.480 of just protesting in general. People will stop protesting because quite frankly, it's not worth the
00:02:56.600 trouble. There is already more than enough laws on the book that can be enforced to punish protesters who
00:03:04.100 are breaking the law in a nefarious way. This is only going to give law enforcement more tools to
00:03:09.540 try and chill all types of protests. Oh, but there's more. The second part of this bill is adding an
00:03:15.540 offense to the criminal code, which if you committed assault or trespassing or some sort of threatening,
00:03:22.140 et cetera, I think this might include any other criminal charge like mischief, possibly. If it's based
00:03:28.640 on hate, it adds a separate offense to this. I did a whole bunch of research on Bill C-63,
00:03:36.220 the Online Harms Act, and they had something very similar to this, a standalone hate crime chart.
00:03:42.800 This is once again, just another tool in the toolkit to further punish somebody that the government
00:03:48.820 potentially doesn't like, or if a political faction doesn't like a certain person, they can say,
00:03:52.620 oh, well, actually this is based on hate as well, just to add more lawfare onto that person to punish
00:03:58.260 them even more. And some people might say, Greg, what do you mean? Isn't hate a bad thing? If you
00:04:03.080 are protesting something, chances are you hate something that's going on. You might hate this
00:04:11.260 side, you might hate that side, but if you're protesting, it's pretty, it's pretty safe to say
00:04:15.280 that there's something going on that you do not like, and that you could probably argue that the
00:04:20.480 person hates. And this is the problem when you throw this word hate around. You know, if you love
00:04:26.500 something, you want to protect it, you're going to hate the thing that's attacking the thing that you
00:04:30.320 love. So this is very clearly a power grab for the governments to weaponize against people that they
00:04:36.980 don't like, or that some sort of political faction doesn't like. We're already seeing this with
00:04:42.880 trucker convoy folk. And even if you don't have sympathy for the trucker convoy people, you should
00:04:47.160 realize that it's setting a terrible precedent where the existing laws are being used to criminally
00:04:52.440 charge people who are peacefully protesting. But there's even more because the way they're framing
00:04:58.880 this new bill already is many are questioning, is it going far enough? Is this bill going far enough?
00:05:05.680 And in the very biased, propagandistic CTV news report, of course, they featured the one and only,
00:05:11.560 the sky does not look good these days. The one and only Bernie Farber, the head chair or the original
00:05:18.980 chair of the Canadian anti-hate network. You cannot find a more openly partisan organization than the
00:05:26.340 hate network. They've openly said that they only target the far right and that they're proudly
00:05:31.700 anti-fascist. This is a government-funded organization. Anyway, Bernie's whole spiel here was,
00:05:36.760 we need to focus on the online hate too. So obviously this is a free speech issue. Obviously
00:05:42.840 they're trying to set, they're trying to anchor the conversation with, well, we need to apply this
00:05:47.300 to protests, but is it going far enough? Should we take away freedom of speech online as well?
00:05:51.940 And this is exactly what these corrupt bureaucrats do. They take, take, take, they're trying to take
00:05:56.280 more and more of our rights away. And they do that incrementally by setting the frame of, well,
00:06:01.100 we're going to police protests more. It's just a question of whether or not we should take your freedom
00:06:06.100 speech away online. And then once we fight against the online censorship stuff, then they'll be like,
00:06:11.180 okay, good. We, we had a free speech win, even though we're still left with this bullshit. That's
00:06:15.900 going to, uh, have a chilling effect on protests across the country. The conservative party, Pierre
00:06:22.040 Polyev, you better come out against this. And I don't have faith. I don't think they are because if you
00:06:29.420 didn't know, the conservative party is this conservative party anyway, is very pro Israel. So they're
00:06:36.080 going to want to use this bill against the Hamas protesters. And so they're probably going to be
00:06:41.880 very sympathetic to this bill. This is the free speech party apparently, but because they don't
00:06:47.700 like certain protesters, yeah, let's just start to chip away at the freedom of speech of all Canadians.
00:06:54.280 Don't do a conservative party, do the right thing and come out against this bill. All of it,
00:06:58.880 not just the online stuff, also the protesting stuff. I'm actually working on a documentary all
