00:01:21.180here comes a u.s army tanks roll up dirt in the air
00:01:38.140wow what do you think about everybody a big tractor clip of the week literally i pulled
00:01:48.440the truck into the yard shut it off jumped in the stagger went and did some cultivating i got weeds
00:01:53.160coming on my yin yang that was kind of funny wow it's kind of cool to put the camera up on the
00:01:58.520stagger and give it a shot so it looked awesome that's my fun toy really really awesome beautiful
00:02:05.320drive yesterday through british columbia couldn't be oh that province so gorgeous sir we took a
00:02:11.720I took a 1920s case steam packer, which is a highway construction machine, but a steam unit from Saskatchewan to Kelowna to a collector.
00:02:24.600And then I loaded a 1920s, most people who follow me on social media would see this, a 1920s locomotive steam-powered engine boiler system.
00:02:32.820So 29,000 pounds on the deck of Big Red, legal load, and just smoked her through the mountains the last couple of days, and here we are.
00:02:41.720wow yeah it's beautiful and you know what's so funny is that uh i've traveled back and forth on
00:02:47.720these roads so much i just about know i think just about all those places that you showed in
00:02:51.280your video right isn't that crazy but absolutely beautiful yeah no kidding no i'm good it uh feels
00:02:58.740like it was a busy week i'm it's gonna be a busy weekend i'm heading to oyen tomorrow and then to
00:03:04.740Tabor on Sunday for, um, to cover a rally for, uh, Corey Morgan's, uh, billboard signs that
00:03:11.740seem to be raising quite a ruckus out here. He purchased, he purchased some of those blue
00:03:16.740Alberta independent signs and put them up in Tabor, the billboards. And, uh, of course,
00:03:21.880I think, you know, the story there, he had some problems with the town. They wanted him to take
00:03:25.680it down. And anyways, I think now he's got three of them there. So they're going to have a little
00:03:29.720rally there on Sunday. I'm going to go cover that. Well, I got some mail from a, from a loyal
00:03:34.640fan here the other day uh john sent me a package with a whole bunch of these stickers on them so uh
00:03:44.880seems to trigger a lot of people right now just showing a picture of the albert of
00:03:49.440um you know provincial flag how amazing is that in the country we live in right now
00:03:55.600well they had quit the turnout for the sundry uh well you heard about the sundry parade getting
00:03:59.920cancelled because somebody wanted to put a flag in that had alberta flags on it or a float in that
00:04:03.840had alberta flags and i think they had just about well 500 or more people show up there a few days
00:04:10.880ago to just uh they they created their own parade good you know just a few nasty negative nellies
00:04:18.080out there destroying it for the others out there this is this this country is in it's in trouble
00:04:23.200right now watch how the government divides us in our own communities you know and then judging by
00:04:29.280my last few days on social media watch how the people in the freedom convoy divide people inside
00:04:35.360their own communities it's the same thing the government's sitting back right now laughing
00:04:40.240at the amount of division that they've created and then was standing right now it's unfortunate
00:04:45.120right and to what end yeah what end you know it's uh it is ridiculous hello everybody in the chat
00:04:53.360and welcome to house arrest episode 34 we got baba susie here hello richard upcott 9026 hello
00:05:03.600uh valerie jordan great advice yes please hit the like button share this video out uh subscribe
00:05:11.280where i checked our numbers 6260 is where we're and now so we're growing we're steadily growing
00:05:17.920but we really appreciate that you guys hey we just started this for fun kind of thing
00:05:23.360yeah that's right pardon me gourd good evening um oh that's so sweet ellen says hello everyone i
00:05:34.400was very comforted today to know that big red was in bc that's so sweet you got you know
00:05:41.120i stopped at a break check i think it was up on rebel stoke and i met a lady up there a fellow
00:05:45.520trucker and you know she messaged her daughter who lived down in the the okanagan valley somewhere
00:05:51.760And then the next thing I know, I had people messaging me and saying, hey, Chris, are you coming down this way?
00:12:15.300And I asked that question before we started, I think a lot of this legislation that's getting rammed through is a result of or part of it can be attributed to the Freedom Convoy and obviously the mishandling of that.
00:12:30.240But without further ado, let's listen to the expert on it.
00:12:33.740John Carpe, welcome to house arrest and welcome home from your vacation.
00:13:14.080Well, I've got a great team. We've got our network of lawyers, and I've gotten lots of assistance to get up to speed on this. But it's pretty sad when the government steps in and starts to function like a parent.
00:13:32.460and and we Canadians I mean present company excluded maybe not the three of us and the people
00:13:38.860listening but but Canadians generally have not done a good job on protecting their own kids
00:13:45.540from pornography from excessive social media use you know there's a dark side to it right
00:13:51.580especially for young women body image you have to look like this you got loneliness anxiety
00:13:57.260isolation uh sometimes you know online bullying people being driven to suicide you got all kinds
00:14:03.760of garbage and there's way too many parents in canada who are allowing uh their kids you know
00:14:09.940unsupervised access and yeah you know you're only 13 but you get to have your own phone in your own0.99
00:14:14.880bedroom or whatever right no no time limits no restrictions on contents uh no net nanny
00:14:21.560anti-pornography software whatever so a lot of parents have been screwing up so there is a
00:14:26.760problem um right and the government's capitalizing on that there is a real problem with uh some
00:14:33.900teenagers and adults suffering some harm from social media there's a problem with pornography
00:14:40.340to the point where you know there's young men who have no idea how to have a real relationship with
00:14:47.280a real woman because they're looking at pornography all the time it's very destructive it's very
00:14:52.800toxic anyway so so the government comes along like our lord and savior and says you know1.00
00:14:59.580superman's here i got the red cape we're going to save you from all of this
00:15:03.200so we've got this um safe social media act which will create the digital safety act as well as a
00:15:12.320digital safety commission of canada act yes and some parts of it might be okay but the biggest
00:15:21.160problem with the bill is that it creates this very very powerful digital safety commission
00:15:27.580which will be something like the crtc the canadian radio television and telecommunications
00:15:33.320commission very powerful body that used to have uh authority only over radio and television but now
00:15:40.240with c11 they also have authority over the internet so the crtc is very powerful this is
00:15:46.360going to be even more powerful than the CRTC. This Digital Safety Commission is going to have
00:15:51.100powers to regulate contents on social media. It's going to have powers to create rules,
00:15:58.580but this is not set out in Bill C-34. So Bill C-34 says, basically, we're going to create
00:16:06.120this Digital Safety Commission and the Digital Safety Commission is going to have all these
00:16:12.360powers bang bang bang bang bang bang bang so i'll rattle off just a few examples uh this commission
00:16:19.060is going to have the power to decide how you must prove your age to use social media uh that'll
00:16:26.360apply to everybody right if you're trying to yeah under 16s from using social media the only way to
00:16:32.740do that is you require everybody using social media to provide proof of age uh the commission
00:16:39.280will have power to decide what platforms must do to keep miners away from pornography the measures
00:16:45.320every platform must take against harmful content what content platforms must preserve and for how
00:16:51.120long how platforms must block under 16 account holders what counts as harmful behavior by an ai
00:16:58.840chat box a chat bot example of something we we should be perhaps debating in parliament but what
00:17:06.820this does is if this bill is passed the commission without any public debate without public input
00:17:12.680the commission will decide what counts as harmful behavior by an ai chat bot so it's just so
00:17:20.980undemocratic to create this very powerful federal regulatory agency where they're going to make all
00:17:28.240the rules and enforce the rules and punish people for breaking the rules and issue fines for up to
00:17:33.86010 million dollars or three percent of global revenues for an internet corporation anyway i'll
00:17:39.620stop there it's you know the world is paved with good intentions we've created an opportunity we
00:17:45.860have to accept some responsibility as citizens we've created an opportunity for the government
00:17:50.420to present itself as our savior and helper and superman to come in here and rescue the children
00:17:57.260and they would not be in as strong of a position to do this
00:18:02.640if parents were really stepping up to the plate
00:18:05.340and supervising, monitoring, limiting their kids' access
00:18:09.800to social media, internet, pornography, chatbots,
00:29:09.940And I would, seriously, it made me a better person.
00:29:12.600And let's not forget, I mean, you know, I was a rebellious teenager.
00:29:16.640I was told no or forbidden from things.
00:29:18.780And you just, you know, teenagers will just find a way.
00:29:21.300They'll just figure it out because they're very resourceful and they can just, they can figure these things out.
00:29:26.640So, you know, and I wanted to bring this up because I think this is a prime example kind of of where this is headed.
00:29:33.060And I don't know, you're freshly back from your trip, John, but I'm sure you heard about the call to prayer in Regina that they're testing right now.
00:42:23.940malcolm's george jonas freedom yeah candace malcolm is the recipient of of the 2026 george
00:42:30.600jonas freedom award so we have a dinner in toronto on july 21st it's sold out actually and then we
00:42:36.140have a dinner in vancouver in august also sold out uh we still have tickets left for our dinner
00:42:41.720in calgary coming up september 24th yeah i would recommend if you get a ticket that you go it's an
00:42:51.200it's an amazing dinner and you know it's candace definitely should be celebrated for all her hard
00:42:56.120work and uh i'm looking forward to it so anything else to add john before we let you go home and
00:43:02.960relax nope just uh let's let's keep on fighting until we win and the only thing necessary for
00:43:10.300evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing we are good people we're not doing nothing so
00:43:16.900we're going to win in the end right awesome yeah you got it okay sounds good well you have a great
00:43:22.020night john thanks for joining us all right thank you have a great night see you bye-bye you bet
00:43:26.220oh just always talk to that guy he's amazing you know and uh yeah there we could have probably
00:43:36.020carried that conversation on for quite some time but john has been gone for a little while and
00:43:39.860he's really far behind on things and we appreciate him giving us the time to just come on and explain
00:43:44.320a few things so yeah no kidding yeah they're doing great great work uh absolutely love it
00:43:49.540we're done even a little bit early tonight chris barber we are i still have stuff to do outside
00:43:55.940but i know everybody there's a few people to look forward to the show every week and uh and
00:44:00.620you know most of the time i'm i'm so flying through the week i usually have to stop myself
00:44:05.660and be like oh i have to get in front of the laptop or the computer that's right well like i
00:44:11.260said we are so very very lucky um next week we're gonna have k or not kayla sorry kerry sakamoto
00:44:17.360and eva chippy if they're gonna come on to talk about how their hearings went last week um i just
00:44:23.220thought it'd be great to have them both come on and both share their perspectives on it um and
00:44:27.220then the week after is gonna get uh right blend jonathan uh don't be ville i can never pronounce
00:44:33.680john v um but i think i'm gonna see if he can come on the week after because i thought it was
00:44:38.080You know, it's been a long time, Chris, since you and me just sat down in front of the, you know, and just talked with our community and just had a chat about things that are happening all around us, too.
00:44:48.440So, anyways, I'll see what John's schedule is like.
00:44:50.860So, we'll have Kerry and Evan next week, possibly just you and me the week after that or John, but, yeah.
00:44:56.780Well, we're always here and we're always chatting and we're constantly, if you see my eyes going that way, it's because we're watching the comment section.
00:45:03.780So if anybody's got any questions they want to throw out there, by all means, Tash is an amazing producer and she will catch them if we don't throw them away.
00:45:14.000There's been a lot of drama in the freedom movement in the last week, of course, and I'd just like to say to everybody out there that for the most part, I like to ignore that.
00:45:22.920I've kind of grown, well, no, I've always had thick skin, but I like to try and ignore, I like to go after the trolls, the ones that are lost on my social media.
00:45:31.880But when I have to resort to retaliating or going after the horrible things that people say from people involved in our own movement, it's discouraging.
00:54:12.480Yeah, only two. Yeah, I've only had two visits so far. So which I consider myself pretty lucky, honestly, but, but it was so funny, Chris. I mean, last week, of course, I was in Calgary on a work exemption. And it was just funny, because I had to get an exemption. But I'm literally in the courthouse every day surrounded by sheriffs and cops and lawyers and judges. And then there's like an RCMP convention at the hotel that I was staying at. So I emailed Megan, I'm like, I am literally, you know, for being under house arrest.
00:54:42.260and possibly the safest place in the whole world like i and i'm spending my day you know in the in
00:54:47.140a courthouse and my evenings surrounded by rcmp officers but i gotta tell you though i don't know
00:54:53.380if i mentioned this to you last week chris but wow do we have a lot of support in that uh alberta
00:54:59.140that calgary courthouse like so much support they uh were coming up and shaking our hand my hand and
00:55:06.260loved our work and you know it was um yeah it was really quite nice because you just never know in
00:55:12.420this situation i had lawyers coming up and talking to me and shaking my hand and so yeah um a little
00:55:18.660bit different than ottawa courthouse mind you we still get a lot of support out about the ottawa
00:55:23.140courthouse too you know yeah one of the things that i'll probably remember for the rest of my
00:55:27.620life was leaving the ottawa courthouse on our sentencing day and having officers come up to me
00:55:32.500and say we're gonna you know it's a it's you're an amazing person and you know thank you for
00:55:38.160showing us respect during your time here kind of thing yeah yeah like nice because we were never
00:55:45.220against law enforcement we were against government and it's unfortunate that the government had to
00:55:49.880use law enforcement against peaceful protesters in this country to to break people up you know
00:55:56.160this is our enemy right now is the government well i'm suing them so i don't think they'll
00:56:02.180probably be coming up to shake my hand anymore the Ottawa police service is having a terrible few
00:56:07.660weeks I think you see there was a couple of days ago where the chief had to come out and say that
00:56:12.820some of their officers were like using uh their databases to look up women and hook up with women
00:56:18.820and yeah they're not gonna have a good year no remember that don't throw stones when you live
00:56:24.820in a glass house that's right exactly so anyways I'm looking forward to get moving that case it's
00:56:31.680take a long time to get that civil suit done but i'm looking forward to it uh there's a lot of
00:56:36.480really there's a lot of wonderful people that work for the ottawa police service i will say
00:56:40.320that i mean they have a lot of great um great people that we met even um some people that we
00:56:46.160know that work for the ottawa police service in fact um and that are huge supporters but there
00:56:50.800is a rot in the bureaucracy at that place um steve uh what's his face interim steve belt
00:56:59.600interim chief steve bell former interim chief remember when he was saying that he was going
00:57:04.080to hunt down and persecute and financially handicap anyone that was involved in the freedom convoy i
00:57:09.360mean there's stuff like that i need to be held accountable i have to cough here prick did you
00:57:16.240get that that's right yeah no kidding no kidding um so oh john hutch says that was the toronto
00:57:25.120please oh i don't know maybe there was both john i'm pretty sure the uh ottawa police service just
00:57:30.880came out and had to do the same thing but i think you're right i think there was um i think they're
00:57:36.480just getting to the tip of the iceberg there with the toronto police service honestly but uh that's
00:57:41.840just me we're on our antenna everybody remember we are you got it well thank you everybody for
00:57:48.720joining us tonight um we have to do chatting with you next week on our no one gets left behind
00:57:54.480episode we'll have uh carrie sakamoto and eva chipiak to join us to talk about her case and
00:57:59.520what happens next um as we wait for the judge's decision so i hope you all have an amazing week
00:58:05.520and we will see you next week on house arrest keep your eyes on the prize guys see you guys
