00:00:00.360 Elon Musk is taking out the trash as mass firings begin at Twitter, while the U.S. government is using cat videos to indoctrinate your children.
00:00:10.180 Well, one of those stories is good. One of them is completely insane, but they're both absolutely true.
00:00:15.440 Joining me to break down all of this, Libby Emmons of The Post Millennial.

00:00:36.140 AmFest.com, promo code POSO. Let's get into it.
00:00:50.060 And again, as the owner of these companies, he can fire anyone he wants.
00:00:56.200 He can do whatever he wants inside of those companies.
00:00:58.660 But when he's dealing with the federal government in terms of federal laws, he's not free to do that.
00:01:04.720 You cannot ignore what the federal government is requiring of your company.
00:01:09.400 And that goes for safety rules in your vehicles, and it also goes for guardrails that have to be built around social media sites that are allowing for Twitter for $8 to give someone an ability to impersonate who they are.
00:01:26.440 And they could be impersonating the fact that they're the CDC or Eli Lilly or a United States senator.
00:01:33.580 That is not permissible.
00:01:34.860 And they will pay a price if they don't put safeguards in place at Twitter.
00:01:40.800 They will pay a price.
00:01:42.700 Well, ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily powered by Turning Point USA.
00:01:47.460 Today is November 18th, 2022, Anno Domini.
00:01:51.480 Elon Musk taking out the trash at Twitter.
00:01:56.100 In fact, he's taking out the trash so well, the trash is taking itself out.
00:02:00.860 What do I mean by this?
00:02:02.080 Because he's essentially put out a missive.
00:02:05.240 He has put out an edict.
00:02:06.540 And it's a simple question to all the employees of Twitter.
00:02:10.260 Are you willing to work long hours?
00:02:14.460 Are you willing to be arduous?
00:02:16.380 Are you willing to show complete dedication to your job?
00:02:22.140 And if so, you may stay.
00:02:24.540 And if not, you need to ask everyone to click a box and say that you're not interested in staying in the new Twitter.
00:02:29.600 And then you go and off you are.
00:02:31.760 He's getting them to fire themselves.
00:02:34.280 And mainstream media is in complete meltdown mode over this because they're all saying that, oh, no.
00:02:40.780 Well, he's he's he's allowed to fire people.
00:02:43.220 But these are our people.
00:02:45.020 And you can hear Senator Markey.
00:02:46.120 They're threatening, threatening Elon Musk, saying, I'm going to go after you.
00:02:50.660 And, you know, you're impersonating and hate speech and censorship.
00:02:54.240 And you're not censoring enough.
00:02:56.100 And you just censor more.
00:02:57.160 Remember, when they talk about regulating big tech.
00:03:00.740 And I've talked before about how big tech is essentially a public utility.
00:03:05.340 They're not talking about the type of regulation that I'm talking about.
00:03:09.680 They're talking about censorship, content moderation and cracking down on anyone who disagrees with their preferred gated narrative.
00:03:19.540 So joining me to break down all the latest Elon Musk Silicon Valley is Libby Emmons, editor in chief of the Post Millennial Libby.
00:03:28.000 What are you seeing in terms of Elon and is this going to work?
00:03:32.580 So I think that this has been a lot of fun.
00:03:35.380 We've spoken about how Twitter has been a lot more fun recently.
00:03:38.340 Frankly, I think this is part of it.
00:03:41.340 I'm seeing AOC come out and boost the former Twitter employees saying, hey, you did such a great job.
00:03:47.600 Here's your, you know, here's your little trophy for having having been involved in that, your participation trophy.
00:03:53.800 And I'm seeing blue checks all over the place claiming that they're going to be leaving Twitter because it's just too much of a cesspool anymore.
00:04:00.500 And seeming to rejoice in Twitter's demise.
00:04:03.500 And then we see Elon Musk come out and say, of course, that there's been intensive user engagement because what we know about Twitter users is when there's a controversy, when there's some hype going on, everybody flocks to the platform.
00:04:16.100 That's what we do.
00:04:16.960 We all go take a look and try and figure out what's going on.
00:04:21.500 Yeah, it's been a lot of fun.
00:04:22.980 Blue checks are clear.
00:04:24.780 They can't take it.
00:04:27.300 It's kind of like an old pro wrestling trick.
00:04:29.180 Like you make the show about the show.
00:04:32.480 So he's made Twitter into the story of Twitter and he's putting the show itself on focus.
00:04:38.880 And it's, you know, in this version, he's the, you know, the big bad boss, the big bad CEO who's going after the employees.
00:04:46.540 And how dare you?
00:04:47.900 How dare you be this way?
00:04:49.260 And he's just totally, I think, totally embraced this character, totally embraced this ability to go in and say, look, you know, yeah, if you don't like it, you're fired.
00:04:59.020 Get out of here.
00:05:00.100 Go work for somewhere else.
00:05:01.660 And you're seeing, by the way, layoffs across the entire tech sector.
00:05:05.500 You're definitely seeing that by the way, Amazon, a lot of people saying that Amazon usually staffs up right before Q4, right before we go into Christmas season.
00:05:12.900 They're laying people off right now.
00:05:14.480 This does not bode well for the economy.
00:05:16.680 And it just shows the tech sector has had a lot of dead wood in it from the start.
00:05:21.420 So it's not just Elon doing this.
00:05:23.180 But Elon is the one who's, I think, honestly, smart enough to know that he can turn all of this into a marketing strategy.
00:05:30.700 And he's driving right in.
00:05:32.040 He's leaning in and saying this is the way it's got to be done.
00:05:35.520 They're saying, by the way, also, that so many people have left Twitter, right?
00:05:40.220 This is the CNN angle with Oliver Darcy, who's kind of taken the mantle, right, the potato mantle of Brian Stelter and saying, well, if all of these people leave, then Twitter won't be able to work anymore.
00:05:52.820 I got to tell you, Olivia, I went into Twitter this morning, and it seemed like it was working fine.
00:05:56.800 So I threw a tweet up.
00:05:58.180 I said, Twitter does not exist anymore.
00:06:00.360 Twitter is not working.
00:06:01.460 You are not scrolling.
00:06:02.660 You are mentally hallucinating because CNN told me that Twitter would not exist anymore today.
00:06:08.220 Yeah, I think that's pretty amazing, too.
00:06:10.220 And anyone who's worked in an office job knows that you spend maybe two hours a day working and the rest of your six hours muddling around trying to figure out how you're going to get through the day now that you've finished all of your work.
00:06:22.820 We've seen Twitter HQ.
00:06:24.860 They have, you know, meditation rooms and yoga rooms and all of these things that don't have anything to do with real work.
00:06:31.200 And perhaps it's time for these people to realize that work is not sitting at your computer DMing your friends at work about when you're going to go get your matcha lattes.
00:06:39.440 Perhaps work is actually buckling down and doing some real, you know, actual labor, taking pride in what you're doing and getting it done.
00:06:48.480 I think that it's true that a lot of places could operate with far less staff.
00:06:52.820 And be just as productive, if not more so, once all of the people who were mostly interested in getting lunch were out the door.
00:07:00.980 Yeah, it really seems, too, that a lot of the people that you see going out there from these content moderation teams or they're from the it's the censors, the censors, the woke SJWs, the people who were hired because of diversity quotas.
00:07:15.340 And Elon is looking at it and saying, and I said this before, by the way, with, you know, in our special that's going to come out this Sunday with Aaron Beatty, where we get into Elon, because Elon, we know, is a reader of Revolver.
00:07:26.880 That it's it's sort of represents a very Gen X way forward for this new movement.
00:07:32.980 And we can talk a little bit about it in the next segment, because I know we're about out of time.
00:07:36.500 But it's this idea that you're not ideologically swinging one way or the other.
00:07:41.240 You're just focusing on the job and getting the job done.
00:07:44.880 But, folks, I got to tell you, it is hard to grasp why anyone would keep voting for record inflation, skyrocketing crime and an open border.
00:07:54.040 Likewise, why would anyone keep funding the left by sticking with the big carriers?
00:08:00.240 Patriot Mobile. Let's talk about Patriot Mobile.
00:08:02.700 That's America's only Christian conservative wireless provider.
00:08:06.620 And they want to make it easy for you to try their service.
00:08:10.500 Give them 60 days to show you why I trust them.
00:08:14.000 Right now, when you try Patriot Mobile for two months, you will get your third month free, plus get free activation.
00:08:24.840 They offer nationwide coverage on the best 4G and 5G networks and use the same towers as all three of the major carriers.
00:08:32.540 So you get the same great service while supporting a company that's fighting to preserve our God given rights and freedoms.
00:08:40.220 Just go to PatriotMobile.com slash POSO or give them a call.
00:08:45.380 They're 100% U.S.-based, 100% U.S.-based customer service team.
00:08:50.480 It's 972-PATRIOT.
00:08:52.440 Remember, PatriotMobile.com slash POSO.
00:08:54.760 If you're fed up with woke companies that don't care about your values, support a company that does.
00:09:00.260 Make the switch today and get a free month of service plus free activation.
00:09:05.060 PatriotMobile.com slash POSO.
00:09:06.740 We'll put the link in the description.
00:09:07.840 Have you ever asked yourself why cats are treated like internet royalty and what's really going on behind those whiskers?
00:09:16.980 You'll find answers to these urgent questions and more in an exciting new game launching this summer.
00:09:23.420 Hi, I'm Devor Devcheche, contractor with the U.S. Department of State's Global Engagement Center, the GC.
00:09:29.320 The GC leads the U.S. government's efforts to understand and counter foreign disinformation and propaganda.
00:09:36.460 As part of that mission, we have developed seriously fun games that foster media literacy and help inoculate global populations against disinformation.
00:09:46.880 You might have heard of our first game, Harmony Square.
00:09:49.860 Hi, I'm Ron Bordeaux, and I'd like to introduce you to my town, Harmony Square.
00:09:57.860 It's a peaceful place known for its love of pineapples, swans, and democracy.
00:10:03.040 And you are going to mess it all up.
00:10:06.040 You play the role of a chief disinformation officer, and your job is to destabilize the community using nothing more than your wits, your keyboard, and a social media account.
00:10:17.200 So the United States government, we've now found out, is funding and working through the DHS and other partners with this disinformation archipelago, this group of civil society groups, whether it be at Stanford, whether it be D-Labs, all these different other things,
00:10:37.760 to make now video games that they're going to be giving to children and students in the U.S. and the U.K., describing disinformation and trying to indoctrinate kids about not believing the things they see on the Internet.
00:10:57.940 Libby Emmons, break this down for me.
00:11:00.040 What exactly is Cat Park, and why is the U.S. government funding things like this?
00:11:07.420 So Cat Park is this exciting new game that you, too, can play.
00:11:12.200 And basically, you've moved to a new town, and you don't have any friends, so you managed to find yourself engaged with some people who are really opposed to a new Cat Park that is opening in the town.
00:11:24.960 And you end up putting together social media messages to go against the Cat Park, and eventually you find out that this is all this big campaign funded by, you know, billionaires who just want to take down the Cat Park.
00:11:39.680 It's pretty ridiculous, and it's funded by the administration, of course, because what they want to do is tell you what to think.
00:11:48.180 This is their primary goal.
00:11:49.680 We see it again and again that the Biden administration uses whatever tools they have at their disposal, particularly the ones that they feel are going to be the most viral,
00:11:59.060 to tell Americans what to think and to assure Americans that the Biden administration has the moral authority to do so.
00:12:05.840 The only problem with this, of course, is that they have no moral authority.
00:12:09.620 All they have is decades of backing, of telling you that they're right.
00:12:13.400 So they continue to say this over and over again.
00:12:15.860 This game is pretty absurd.
00:12:18.440 I played a fair bit of it, Jack.
00:12:20.360 I think maybe you played some of it as well.
00:12:22.520 I'm not going to lie.
00:12:23.700 I definitely played this for like 30 minutes before the show today just to see what's going on.
00:12:28.480 And by the way, it's not actually a game.
00:12:30.040 It's more like an interactive video because it doesn't actually allow you to make decisions or make any independent action.
00:12:39.260 You just have to kind of follow along with their storyline.
00:12:41.920 So you're kind of clicking through, but you have to click on the things that it makes you click on.
00:12:46.840 So it's not even really considered a game in terms of that.
00:12:50.040 But what's interesting is that in this game and they show you that the things that the government is worried about, right, the things they paint as negative and evil are people posting on the Internet, people asking questions about government projects that are funded with their own taxpayer dollars.
00:13:10.680 And they say that you are a bad person if you write a headline that's emotional and stirs up the community.
00:13:20.080 And the worst thing of all, you know what the worst thing of all in this game is?
00:13:23.440 They say the most evil thing that you could possibly do, Libby.
00:13:27.020 No, what is it?
00:13:28.520 The most evil thing possible is to make memes.
00:13:32.740 They say it's a secret.
00:13:34.560 You like meet this girl in like a nondescript van and she says, hey, kid, do you want to make some memes about the cat park?
00:13:44.200 Which, by the way, would totally not work anyway.
00:13:46.180 And I would say that as I made the memes, I was like, you know what?
00:13:51.540 These guys are right.
00:13:52.280 I'm totally against this cat park.
00:13:54.660 Yeah, I found that, too.
00:13:56.040 And I didn't get past the part where I was making up fake headlines.
00:13:58.940 And I was like, oh, this is a pretty good headline, you know, that they would say that they didn't like.
00:14:04.080 But that's just it, right?
00:14:05.060 It wasn't fake headlines.
00:14:06.740 It was just opinionated headlines.
00:14:08.560 It was opinionated headlines.
00:14:09.820 That was the thing that I had a real question with is I'm looking at this and it didn't actually show anything.
00:14:19.200 OK, at one point there's like you meet this crazy guy at a hot dog stand and he's nuts.
00:14:23.120 And but when you're going and writing through the headlines that say our city is wasting money on a cat park, that's not disinformation.
00:14:31.460 That's an opinion.
00:14:32.640 That's not what they've done.
00:14:34.280 What they've done is make it so that if essentially what they're saying, the message of this game is if you disagree with the government and have an opinion that is separate from what sort of the powers that be of the government are,
00:14:47.400 then you are not only not only are you bad, you are a disinformation officer and it's a lie.
00:14:55.900 It's a lie that you could be upset about this.
00:14:58.460 And that to me just flies in the face of everything that free speech is supposed to be about.
00:15:03.900 I agree with you.
00:15:05.140 And it also is designed to make it so that the government can spend money doing whatever they want.
00:15:09.820 And nobody has the right to question it because nobody believes they have the right to question it.
00:15:14.160 And when you look at New York, for example, and you have the situation where the administration there is giving out Xboxes and putting up masses of money to house illegal immigrants there or to put homeless people into hotels in Times Square,
00:15:31.200 or you look at all of the big city projects, some of them are great.
00:15:35.400 Our parks projects in New York are spectacular.
00:15:37.420 But so many of these things that the city is funding are just absurd, you know, safe injection sites, all of this.
00:15:43.780 And we're not supposed to question you of San Francisco building one public bathroom for some huge sum of money.
00:15:49.760 And it's going to take them three years to get it done.
00:15:51.880 I don't know if it's, you know, probably special and sustainable and meets all of the various different codes and what have you.
00:15:58.240 But it's absurd.
00:15:59.160 And I do think that there is something important to be said about the lack of moral authority that is actually behind all of this and the lack of values.
00:16:09.340 And it's so important for Americans to know their values and to be able to make judgments based on their own awareness of what morality is, what their values are, and to learn to think for themselves.
00:16:21.400 We can't believe what we are told by this government.
00:16:24.320 We never could.
00:16:25.320 And it just becomes more and more apparent, and especially now that they're feeding us little games to try and trick us into, you know, believing what they want us to believe.
00:16:34.100 It's not okay.
00:16:35.380 You know, you have to say no to this stuff.
00:16:37.800 Well, and it's the kids.
00:16:38.840 And they always target the kids.
00:16:40.200 They target the kids every single time.
00:16:42.540 Ladies and gentlemen, that's why that when it comes to supporting things and building that parallel economy, I say we support companies that support our values.
00:16:51.800 Let me tell you about one of them.
00:16:53.140 Look, the holidays are coming up.
00:16:55.320 We all know the waste are getting bigger.
00:16:57.800 The wallets are getting smaller.

00:18:28.940 American meat delivered.
00:18:29.960 Tonight, a federal judge in Tallahassee has blocked Governor Ron DeSantis' so-called Stop Woke Act,
00:18:38.340 the judge's temporary injunction calling the legislation, quote, positively dystopian, end quote.
00:18:44.940 Governor DeSantis reacted to the ruling saying in part, quote,
00:18:47.820 The Stop Woke Act protects the open exchange of ideas by prohibiting teachers or employers who hold agency over others
00:18:56.340 from forcing discriminatory concepts on students as part of classroom instruction or an employee's as a condition of maintaining employment.
00:19:05.280 An open-minded and critical environment necessitates that one is free from discrimination, end quote, from the governor.
00:19:12.520 The law prohibits teaching or business practices that contend members of one ethnic group are inherently racist
00:19:18.420 and should feel guilt for past actions committed by others.
00:19:22.060 The governor's office says it plans to appeal the injunction.
00:19:25.300 I got a lot of CBS, you know, hearing these mainstream guys try to explain wokeness.
00:19:30.240 And they're forced to, right?
00:19:31.600 They're forced to because we are finally putting points on the board.
00:19:35.580 Governor DeSantis' administration down there in Florida is pushing back against us.
00:19:39.100 Now, the federal judge that ruled against the Stop Woke Act, he said that the Stop Woke Act says is essentially
00:19:49.740 buttoning up and shutting down the free speech of teachers.
00:19:55.420 And specifically, he was talking about professors.
00:19:58.180 Now, there's a phrase that this judge used.
00:19:59.980 And I certainly hope, by the way, and I would urge Governor DeSantis, fight this all the way to the Supreme Court.
00:20:06.260 If we are going to allow racism to be taught in our schools, okay, then we actually have to have one standard on this.
00:20:15.900 Is it going to be taught?
00:20:17.000 Is it not going to be taught?
00:20:18.320 And honestly, when it comes down to it, your public officials should always be the ones deciding what is taught in schools, period.
00:20:26.140 They are the ones in charge.
00:20:27.720 They are the ones who set up the school system.
00:20:29.660 It was not the teacher themselves.
00:20:32.100 You don't just get to decide to teach whatever you want.
00:20:34.900 You don't get to indoctrinate these children.
00:20:37.260 And so critical race theory is just that.
00:20:39.240 It is a form of indoctrination.
00:20:40.740 It is pseudoscience.
00:20:41.960 It is not a real credibly adhered to theory anywhere in the world.
00:20:49.020 But we teach this to young kids all the way up through college in our society.
00:20:54.900 And we wonder why everything is so screwed up.
00:20:57.780 But there was a phrase in Libya.
00:20:58.780 I got to ask your take on this.
00:20:59.820 The judge says that we must have a free and open college system for our democracy.
00:21:11.380 And he used a phrase, professors are priests of our democracy.
00:21:17.680 What does that mean, priests of democracy?
00:21:20.160 And what does it say that a federal judge is using that type of language in a legal case?
00:21:29.500 It means several things.
00:21:31.040 One thing it definitely means is that those of us who have been saying that woke and all of this new kind of information and whatnot is a religion, the critical gender theory, critical race theory, all of those of us who are saying that this is something like a religion, we were correct.
00:21:48.980 That is how they view it.
00:21:50.300 They view it with moral authority and moral backing, regardless of whether or not that's actually been earned and it hasn't been earned.
00:21:58.780 So I think that that's pretty amazing.
00:22:01.120 And I think we should stick with, we should never forget that they said that professors are priests of democracy.
00:22:08.780 That is a huge admission.
00:22:10.840 And it must be, it must be, you know, we need to keep hold of that at all times and be aware of that.
00:22:16.480 And I think it actually is, I mean, it's not true, of course.
00:22:20.540 You know, professors are human beings who went into teaching.
00:22:23.140 They are not priests of anything at all.
00:22:25.640 They should be there to discuss ideas, to pose challenges to students, and certainly not to indoctrinate them with racist teaching, which is, of course, what's going on.
00:22:36.420 It's also no surprise that professors and universities would be opposed to having to follow this WOKE Act because they make millions and millions and millions of dollars off of propagating this nonsense.
00:22:49.460 They have entire degree programs and disciplines held up, you know, that they are charging students tuition money for that is based in all of this.
00:22:58.740 They would have to dismantle entire departments if they were to be able to follow along with this law.
00:23:04.160 And it's no wonder that they don't want to do that.
00:23:07.400 Dismantle entire departments.
00:23:10.600 Dismantle the education departments.
00:23:12.800 Get all of these professors fired or have them walk, you know, frog marched off of campus.
00:23:17.200 I don't know.
00:23:18.500 I got to say.
00:23:19.300 Hey.
00:23:20.440 Don't sound so bad to me.
00:23:21.480 I would love to say take what Elon Musk is doing to Twitter and apply that to every single university in the Western Hemisphere and Western Europe and Eastern Europe and then go, by the way, I would do that pretty much to every government, too, while I'm at it.
00:23:39.260 Just go through all your civil servants, all of this, and just anyone who adheres to these things.
00:23:43.800 And that's really what it is.
00:23:46.600 And I don't think we talk about it enough in this angle that, you know, whether you want to call it wokeness, social justice, warriorism, it is a militant, fanatical religion that has taken over so many of these institutions.
00:24:04.220 And there are militant fanatics and zealots who believe this that then work in these areas, particularly the HR departments, that if you do not adhere to it, you're done, right?
00:24:16.520 They will destroy you.
00:24:17.440 They will find a way to end you.
00:24:18.560 They'll find a way to end your career.
00:24:20.080 And people then have become under a chilling effect.
00:24:24.220 You know, you're saying, why aren't people as productive anymore?
00:24:26.580 Because you have to go in, and I have a friend, by the way, I won't even mention his name, but he just got the pronoun email this week at work.
00:24:34.980 He said, you know, we're doing the pronouns, and this is inclusive, and you have to do this.
00:24:40.300 And he was actually joking.
00:24:42.200 He was saying, like, well, number one, I'm going to work on my resume.
00:24:44.400 But number two, I think for now my pronouns are going to be HRM, His Royal Majesty.
00:24:51.580 Yeah, I would be horrified to have to put pronouns in my email.
00:24:54.640 The other thing, too, is people say that telling people that they have to use pronouns is not compelled speech, but it certainly is.
00:25:01.660 Making it the option shows in stark contrast who is not going along with that option, and there's an exclusionary tactic at work in that.
00:25:10.720 If someone came to, if I was told, which would never happen at the post-millennial, that I had to put pronouns in my bio, obviously I would just say no.
00:25:19.480 But I think it's important to speak up for yourself, no matter what.
00:25:24.060 I mean, die on these hills, they are all worth dying on.
00:25:27.600 That's what I would say.
00:25:28.920 Couldn't agree more.
00:25:29.780 So I'm down for folks asking why I'm in this poorly lit hotel room.
00:25:34.460 It's because I'm actually down here in Mexico City.
00:25:36.620 We've had a – there's like 30 Antifa communists that are screaming out outside here, so I'm going to go check that out.
00:25:41.800 I'm going to be speaking at CPAC Mexico here later this afternoon.
00:25:45.500 But Libby, let people know – we're just out of time.
00:25:48.680 Let people know where to follow you and what you're up to at PostMillennial.
00:25:52.720 I am at Libby Emmons on Twitter, and I will be there.
00:25:57.140 I'm not going anywhere.
00:25:58.800 And also –
00:25:59.240 Twitter does not exist.
00:26:00.140 It is a mental hallucination.
00:26:02.380 You're hallucinating.
00:26:03.360 You can find me and the work of all of my amazing colleagues at ThePostMillennial.com.
00:26:08.480 All right.
00:26:09.000 Ladies and gentlemen, as always, you have my permission to lay a short.
00:26:15.500 Thank you.
