00:03:40.960 them in jails? This is terrible. This is horrific. It's fascism. It's guess what? El Salvador,

00:03:47.260 which has the highest murder rate per capita in the world, in the world,

00:03:53.760 just cut their homicide rate in half in just one year, in just one year. Homicide rate cut in half.

00:04:06.240 See, here's the dirty little secret because the media, and I love the media response to this

00:04:12.020 because they want to call it racist, but they realize they can't because who's doing it?

00:04:17.320 The El Salvadoran government. You see, race has nothing to do with it because it's about criminals 0.82

00:04:22.760 and other El Salvadorans do not want those criminals on the streets and running things with the level

00:04:28.840 that they currently do. Now, the goal of this, obviously, if it's going to be successful is to

00:04:34.900 make sure that's instituted after the current president leaves office. This is a big problem

00:04:39.600 that you have with regimes or governments where there's that much turnover, because if you have

00:04:44.920 a good policy like this, uh, you know, look at the broken windows policy in New York in the 1990s,

00:04:50.540 then new mayors come in, new administrations come in, new regimes come in,

00:04:54.960 and that gets degraded, degraded, degraded. And then eventually it gets you back to where you were

00:04:59.640 because the good policy suddenly isn't in place anymore because personnel is policy.

00:05:04.760 And we lay that out again. Personnel is policy. You need the right people in the right jobs at the

00:05:11.080 right time. And so the responses to it have just been insane, completely insane.

00:05:17.320 And yet the effects have been monumental. And here's the deeper question. Is it really just

00:05:27.320 that easy? Is it really just that easy to stop violent crime? Is it really that easy to drop the

00:05:36.240 homicide rate? Because the dirty little secret is that in El Salvador and even in the United States,

00:05:41.880 the percentage of people that commit murders, the demographic that commit murders in the United

00:05:51.060 States is very small. There's only a small amount of people that are committing murders and committing

00:05:57.300 shootings. If you're able to target that group of people, if you're going after the people that are

00:06:05.380 committing the shootings and committing the homicides, you're locking them up and you're keeping them

00:06:11.320 locked up, then guess what? The violent crime goes down. To take the people who commit the violent

00:06:17.900 crime, you put them in jail or you use the Singapore option, as I have stated in the past, perfectly 0.84

00:06:23.600 viable, especially for a small country like El Salvador. And the same way that Singapore is also

00:06:27.320 a small country. You have the ability to do this. You could do that in any country, as a matter of fact.

00:06:32.020 Keep in mind that the whole idea of prisons, as we said a few weeks ago here on the program,

00:06:36.500 is itself a progressive idea. Before the prison reform movement, prison just used to be the place

00:06:44.660 that you waited while you were on trial before your sentence was carried out. So it was a holding

00:06:52.020 cell. It was never meant to be the actual punishment. Your sentence could span a wide gamut from

00:06:59.640 forced labor. I mean, we still have that today. We have picking up trash, stamping out license plates,

00:07:05.260 et cetera, et cetera. So we certainly have labor, uh, as a form of punishment that goes all the way

00:07:10.320 back to the Roman empire. You have public punishments, of course, all the way up to public

00:07:16.740 executions. But in the middle at the time, you also had public floggings. You had these situations

00:07:22.060 where people would say, okay, do you want the lash or do you not want the lash? And it is as simple

00:07:27.780 as that. So I applaud the president of El Salvador. And I question any president that is not pursuing

00:07:35.980 these policies. If you are faced with those levels of crime, you know, a lot of people complain about

00:07:42.500 the state of our country or the way that will corporations treat us and their employees, but

00:07:46.040 it's not enough to complain. We need to change the way the marketplace works. And that starts with you

00:08:38.540 In Washington state this week, legislators held public hearings to form a domestic violent extremism

00:08:43.860 commission that if implemented would make Washington the first in the nation to target extremism with a

00:08:49.440 public health and civic engagement approach. The state attorney general's office authored the study

00:08:54.420 that recommends the commission and other steps to prevent domestic terrorism and hate crimes.

00:08:59.840 Here to discuss that effort is the attorney general, Bob Ferguson. Attorney general, thanks for joining us.

00:09:04.980 This report was in response to the rise in white supremacy and domestic extremism in your state and across the

00:09:13.320 country. Washington ranks fifth in the country for white supremacist incidents. What actions are you

00:09:19.820 recommending that your state take? Yeah, thanks so much for having me on, Laura, on this important

00:09:23.820 subject. I appreciate it. So in a nutshell, after a very detailed report that my team has put together

00:09:29.500 and talking to a lot of experts around the country, the recommendations are first and foremost to create

00:09:34.560 that commission that you mentioned at the outset, a commission that is specifically focused on this issue.

00:09:39.100 And that's not something we've seen around the country with other states. It's really one takeaway

00:09:42.940 from this report is I think it's appropriate for states to take a more active role on addressing

00:09:47.960 domestic violent extremism. And this commission can put forth recommendations to really address this

00:09:53.160 challenge here in Washington state. Congratulations, Washington state. You just created what's called

00:10:00.360 the domestic violent extremism commission. Congratulations. You are stopping all the

00:10:08.980 domestic violence in your state. We all remember those horrific attacks by the, um, you know, that,

00:10:15.240 that group in, in Washington state, the, the, um, well, of course it was when the KKK took over that 12 0.56

00:10:22.740 square block radius of downtown Seattle, right? Back in the summer of 2020, uh, all those people got shot to

00:10:29.060 death. Those kids got shot and killed. Um, there was just mass anarchy. There were fights, there were

00:10:34.700 riots breaking out in the middle of the city at Capitol Hill was called the Capitol Hill autonomous

00:10:39.020 zone of the KKK. We all remember that. Of course, the fact, the city of Seattle just had to pay $3.2

00:10:44.640 million to the homeowners of there, because it was very strange. Why would the government of Seattle

00:10:51.260 just go ahead and turn over 12 square blocks to the Ku Klux Klan in the middle of Seattle, except,

00:10:57.980 oh, wait, it actually wasn't the KKK. It turns out it was Antifa, but you know, I mean, I digress.

00:11:02.840 So the Washington state government, even though they actually did have a level of domestic violent

00:11:10.700 extremism in their state and keep in mind, they're just North of Portland that during the summer of

00:11:16.520 2020 had a two month long nightly siege of the federal courthouse from far left wing militants and

00:11:25.840 Antifa militants. What do we see here? What exactly are they going to be focused? Are they

00:11:30.760 going to be focusing on the black block? Are they going to, are they going to purchase my book? Are

00:11:34.080 they going to read my documentary all about Antifa? Are they going to learn about these things?

00:11:37.800 Have they consulted us? Producer Angelo, have they reached out? He says, no. Hmm.

00:11:45.000 But then again, he's been a little, he's been a little ornery, gave up pork for lent.

00:11:47.620 So the new report also recommended adding DVE to state law, even though there are already statutes

00:11:55.140 addressing hate crimes. The FBI defines domestic terrorism within the context of actual crimes or

00:12:01.440 intent to deter a crime. Okay. So let's go down, let's go down, let's go through. What are some of

00:12:07.960 the narratives? And of course, one of the slides was made by the good people at the anti-defamation

00:12:14.300 league. You might remember the ADL from such hate hoaxes as the day of hate this last weekend,

00:12:20.680 where they ran around telling everybody that the white supremacists and the fascists and the bigots 0.83

00:12:26.000 were all going to be attacking last weekend. And none of it actually happens. We call a hoax. 0.80

00:12:30.780 So what's the anti-defamation league doing next? Well, it turns out that there just aren't enough

00:12:38.080 actual domestic violent extremists for their, you know, for their liking, you know, they just wish

00:12:46.080 there were more. So they're moving the chains. And this is what the groups like this do. This is what

00:12:50.280 completely fake groups like this do. Now, one of the motivate or a number, I should say a number of

00:12:58.560 the motivating narratives for the extremists boosted by mainstream media include election fraud,

00:13:05.920 anti-mask and anti-vaccine narratives, anti-critical race theory narratives, anti-grooming

00:13:15.920 narratives. And it points out that these conspiratorial narratives are motivating extremists

00:13:23.880 boosted by the mainstream. This has led to increased threats against election officials,

00:13:30.220 medical professionals, school board members, protests and disruptions at school board meetings

00:13:35.900 pride events, and our beloved drag queen story hours. Remember, we must all fight and die

00:13:45.660 for drag queen story hour to be spread throughout the entire globe. And then eventually the solar system, 0.94

00:13:53.200 you know, I've, I always tell my kids that I have a dream that one day my children and other

00:14:01.880 children will be holding drag queen story hours on Mars. Yes. It's actually something that I've

00:14:08.960 thought about since I was a young boy. And at some point, I hope that my children will be able to have

00:14:14.400 this dream as well. I dreamed a dream. The drag queen story hour would never die. So in Washington state,

00:14:25.420 if you post any of these things, guess what? You're now a domestic violent extremist. And keep in mind,

00:14:31.800 this is from the same people, the very same people that were putting out, uh, the FBI was using the same

00:14:38.720 type of databases when the ADL that was SPLC, the same type of group calling for traditional churches, churches

00:14:45.540 that use the Latin mass to be put on lists. So guess what? We're making lists of churches. We're making lists of

00:14:52.740 people who disagree with the narrative and we're calling it protection. We're calling it safetyism.

00:14:58.540 We're calling it helping the people who can't help themselves. It's all being done in the name of

00:15:05.340 good government. See, this is what problem, this is the problem that arises when you base your entire

00:15:11.820 government on safetyism. Because back in the day, in fact, for the majority of American history,

00:15:19.080 the idea was if there was an idea out there that you didn't like, you didn't call for it to be banned.

00:15:24.980 You debated it, criticized it, you engaged with it. But now because we have a, uh, gynocentric longhouse

00:15:36.520 system in the West, instead of actually engaging with this or engaging in confrontation, the new move

00:15:44.200 is to go behind people's backs, to make lists and to call for the bad thing to be taken out,
