Human Events Daily with Jack Posobiec - Human Events Daily - Oct 12 2021 - The #FREEDOMFLU Special

00:00:00.360 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily.

00:00:03.760 Huge show today.

00:00:05.380 We are all going to be talking about the freedom flu.

00:00:07.740 What is that?

00:00:09.040 It is the mass noncompliance that's going on and the stress to our systems in this country

00:00:14.620 based on Biden's COVID policies.

00:00:17.000 We're going to be talking about breaking it down in four segments.

00:00:20.360 First, freedom flu air.

00:00:21.940 Then, freedom flu supply chains.

00:00:24.280 Third, freedom flu at sea.

00:00:26.020 And finally, how the freedom flu is affecting President Joe Biden.

00:00:30.400 All this in more head, Human Events Daily.

00:00:42.620 Welcome back.

00:00:43.520 Now, before we get started, I want to remind everyone that this show is powered by Turning Point USA.

00:00:48.760 And if you want to support America and celebrate America,

00:00:53.220 then you've got to come to Turning Point's America Fest, December 18th to 21st.

00:00:59.260 It's going to be in Phoenix, Arizona.

00:01:01.120 The greatest lineup of speakers, including yours truly,

00:01:04.400 as well as very special performances by some of America's top country acts.

00:01:11.360 Seriously?

00:01:12.020 Yes, seriously.

00:01:13.080 Go and check it out.

00:01:14.120 You've got to be there.

00:01:15.300 Go to tposa.com to get more details on America Fest.

00:01:18.120 Now, we're going to get into this.

00:01:19.320 What is the freedom flu?

00:01:21.280 I started this trend yesterday.

00:01:23.160 It went to number one on Twitter.

00:01:24.980 Explain.

00:01:26.320 Friday, the Southwest Airlines employee crew filed a federal mandate,

00:01:33.060 a federal injunction essentially, seeking to block, I should say,

00:01:36.460 the mandate against vaccinations.

00:01:39.060 Then, over the weekend, up to 2,000 Southwest Airlines flights were canceled.

00:01:45.380 What's going on here?

00:01:46.800 Well, the CEO came out today and said,

00:01:49.120 oh, this is just absenteeism.

00:01:50.760 This is just absenteeism.

00:01:52.840 Producers, roll the clips. 0.94

00:01:54.640 I've been an airline pilot for 18 years, and now I'm facing an ultimatum.

00:01:58.740 Not a choice, but an ultimatum.

00:02:00.860 I'm being told in order to continue my career as an airline pilot, I must be vaccinated.

00:02:05.400 Which really means I have to choose between putting food on the table for my family

00:02:09.040 and my freedom of choice.

00:02:10.980 Whether you believe in vaccination is the right thing to do or not,

00:02:14.220 the situation goes far beyond health.

00:02:16.040 We, the American people, have fought for freedom for 257 years.

00:02:20.320 We go around the world spreading ideas of freedom and democracy.

00:02:24.380 We help other countries and people fight for their freedoms,

00:02:27.920 while ours are being stripped away.

00:02:30.500 You may think being forced to wear a mask or get a vaccination is insignificant.

00:02:36.620 But when you begin to compile mandate after mandate and loss of freedom after freedom,

00:02:42.220 it becomes very significant.

00:02:44.640 As each thing is taken away, we face what is known as the shifting baseline syndrome.

00:02:50.520 This syndrome changes our idea of a new and acceptable normal.

00:02:54.420 Soon, we will not remember what it was like to have the freedoms we once did.

00:03:00.060 Our children and our grandchildren will experience less freedom,

00:03:03.760 and they won't have the privilege or the pleasure to enjoy the same choices our parents had or that we have.

00:03:11.800 If we give in to these mandates and we do not stand up for our freedom of choice,

00:03:16.600 we dishonor every armed service person over the last 257 years.

00:03:21.320 A disservice to the people who have fought and bled for the very freedoms we enjoy.

00:03:27.660 Whether you believe in vaccination or not, I'm standing up for your freedom of choice.

00:03:33.120 You may support the vaccine mandates because they fall in line with your current beliefs.

00:03:37.680 But if we let this happen now, there will be a day when what you're told to do will not fall in line with your beliefs.

00:03:45.060 If we do not stand together and fight back in one voice, soon we could be told where to live,

00:03:52.260 what job we will do, what religion to believe, and how many children we can have.

00:03:57.700 Do you really want someone telling your children or your grandchildren what, when, and how they will live every minute of their lives?

00:04:06.700 It's time we take a stance.

00:04:08.380 It's time we fight for our freedom of choice while we still can.

00:04:12.860 We're urging all of our employees to get vaccinated.

00:04:16.000 If they can't, we're urging them to seek an accommodation, either for medical or religious reasons.

00:04:22.300 And my goal, obviously, is that no one loses their job.

00:04:26.440 The objective here, obviously, is to improve health and safety, not for people to lose their jobs.

00:04:32.360 So, yes, we have some very strong views on that topic, but that's not what was at issue with Southwest over the weekend.

00:04:44.180 I've never been in favor of corporations imposing that kind of a mandate.

00:04:49.680 I'm not in favor of that, never have been.

00:04:51.640 But the executive order from President Biden mandates that all federal employees and then all federal contractors,

00:04:59.920 which covers all the major airlines, have to have a mandate and a vaccine in place by December the 8th.

00:05:07.460 So we're working through that.

00:05:08.680 I think the two are mutually exclusive.

00:05:10.640 The vaccine mandate and where we are with the lawsuit is really just to get the company to sit down and talk to us and discuss some of our issues.

00:05:22.660 Pilots have to maintain a medical certificate as well as their pilot certificate.

00:05:27.180 So we want to sit down and address how that is going to be affected, how our long-term disability.

00:05:31.740 Now that we're at Tuesday, looking back at what happened this weekend, our pilot sick rate was right in line with what we saw this summer during the same kind of meltdowns.

00:05:40.780 We also see our pilots picking up almost at an all-time high.

00:05:44.640 So our pilots are there supporting.

00:05:46.420 So the two are really different.

00:05:48.280 We're just trying to get the company to sit down with us and discuss these issues.

00:05:52.900 Now, I want to show you a picture that we got from Benny Johnson.

00:05:57.120 Huge story.

00:05:58.000 This photo was just sent to me of a grounded Southwest plane flying a Gadsden flag out of the cockpit.

00:06:05.180 The hero pilots at Southwest and other airlines deserve a support.

00:06:08.580 True patriots worthy of the American freedom fighter tradition.

00:06:11.820 Don't tread on me.

00:06:13.000 God bless them.

00:06:14.580 Tom Sauer is out there with lots of other stories about air traffic controllers.

00:06:18.660 Now, keep in mind, this is not just Southwest.

00:06:20.620 This is going on throughout the country.

00:06:23.020 We understand what's happening.

00:06:24.400 We understand there can't be a formal declaration because that would be an illegal work action.

00:06:30.740 But we also understand that there are thousands, possibly even millions, of workers that are facing this mandate and are fighting back.

00:06:40.240 Of course, Joe Biden has set December 8th, right before Christmas.

00:06:45.140 So embrace that.

00:06:47.540 Christmas and New Year's.

00:06:49.440 Imagine travel and transit in the air comes screeching to a halt.

00:06:55.880 Merry Christmas.

00:06:57.300 Let's go, Brandon.

00:06:58.660 Stay tuned.

00:06:59.280 We're up.

00:06:59.700 Next segment.

00:07:00.140 The next phase of this, this segment, we're going to focus on the supply chains, how the freedom flu is affecting them.

00:07:11.960 Take a listen to what's going on because we are going to see food shortages across the United States.

00:07:17.620 We're seeing container shortages.

00:07:19.240 We are seeing supply chain disruptions because of issues in Asia, issues in Europe.

00:07:25.320 All of this falls at the feet of Joe Biden and his policies of mismanagement due to Corona-19.

00:07:33.460 This is essentially something that he said that he had a plan for.

00:07:37.060 Remember, I've got a plan for this and I'm going to help.

00:07:40.420 Listen to the people in his administration talk.

00:07:43.660 Now, here we are, what, eight months in, nine months in.

00:07:46.660 Listen to what they're saying now.

00:07:47.880 There's no plan.

00:07:48.600 Holiday shoppers are already being warned to hit the stores early.

00:07:53.040 Marissa Silva, a toy expert, says the industry is being hit hard by the shipping crisis.

00:07:59.500 Silva says there's a delay of about six to eight weeks for a lot of toys.

00:08:03.920 She also warns by Black Friday there may not be much on the store shelves.

00:08:08.360 Ongoing supply chain disruptions and that microchip shortage will both cut down on inventory and drive up the costs of toys that are available.

00:08:16.820 This is a major challenge and this is something that's been a major priority for the White House, certainly for our department.

00:08:23.920 It's why the White House set up this task force.

00:08:27.040 And what we're looking at is basically everything between those ships and your shelves that gets the goods to where they need to be.

00:08:35.780 Part of that's things like physical infrastructure.

00:08:38.060 Part of that, as you say, is labor.

00:08:40.160 And, look, obviously it's an incredibly complicated situation.

00:08:43.480 We're talking about global supply chains.

00:08:45.560 And it's mostly private sector systems.

00:08:48.000 But we have a big role to play.

00:08:49.840 And that's why we've been convening all of the different players, for example, held roundtables, bringing together everybody who's connected to the ports, the port operators, port owners, labor unions, shipping.

00:09:02.340 And remember, a lot of this isn't, when you look at these backups, for example, on the ships, it isn't just about the ships, right?

00:09:08.020 If they're in this photo, that means the ship is there.

00:09:11.080 The question is what's in the way of the container getting off the ship and out to where it needs to be.

00:09:15.960 And a lot of that goes to the other parts of our transportation system.

00:09:19.260 You look at what's going on with trucking, we have some real concerns with the availability of truck drivers.

00:09:24.840 At large truck operators, the rate of turnover for truck drivers has been around 90%.

00:09:30.780 So that's clearly, at least in part, a labor issue.

00:09:34.140 And we're partnering with the Department of Labor to try to establish more apprenticeships and make sure that we're addressing that.

00:09:40.080 You've got a dock worker shortage.

00:09:42.700 You've got a labor shortage.

00:09:43.900 You've got a trucker shortage that's burgeoning.

00:09:48.720 The ships can't even get to port.

00:09:52.560 That's how bad things are under this administration.

00:09:55.900 And you've got Pete Buttigieg, Mayor Pete up there, the guy who said that he loved trains and he loved airplanes,

00:10:02.080 and that's why he was qualified to be the Secretary of Transportation.

00:10:05.480 The guy was a financial analyst, right?

00:10:08.260 A financial analyst for a couple of years.

00:10:10.080 And then where did he work?

00:10:10.840 Where did he work?

00:10:11.360 Where did he work?

00:10:11.820 Oh, right, McKinsey.

00:10:13.760 And what does McKinsey do?

00:10:15.120 They come in and they fire people.

00:10:17.220 Well, guess what, Mayor Pete?

00:10:19.980 You can't just fire all these people.

00:10:22.560 Now you've got a problem on your hands.

00:10:24.440 What are you going to do when, first of all, you can't even admit,

00:10:28.220 you can't even admit that all of this is caused by your own policies. 1.00

00:10:32.240 You can't even, you fool, you absolute clown, that all of this is caused by your failed policies and your medical tyranny. 0.98

00:10:44.120 If you just let people move goods to market, one of the most basic things, it is the essential core of the logistics industry. 0.99

00:10:54.320 I have a lot of friends who work in that industry from the military, right?

00:10:56.600 From the military, guys.

00:10:57.860 Dude, they go into logistics, by the way, and make bank, absolute bank.

00:11:03.220 Got a ton of friends trying to talk me into it.

00:11:05.260 But I figured I'd do this instead.

00:11:08.460 Could be a little more fun.

00:11:09.460 We'll see.

00:11:10.100 Something to fall back on.

00:11:11.300 But understand, all of this, everything we're seeing, the fact that within a few months, possibly a few weeks,

00:11:19.460 that you're not going to see food on the shelves.

00:11:21.880 I didn't even talk about the meatpacking plants and the labor issues they're having.

00:11:27.320 The prices are going to go through the roof.

00:11:30.920 Jobs and unemployment are going, unemployment is going to keep rising.

00:11:34.780 Jobs are going to keep falling, right?

00:11:36.540 This is stagflation.

00:11:38.500 This is the stagflation we're seeing.

00:11:40.600 The prices are going up and as well as unemployment going up.

00:11:45.080 That is textbook stagflation.

00:11:47.680 And it can only be achieved by the government policies of an out-of-control leftist regime like we have right now.

00:11:58.740 Food shortages, ladies and gentlemen.

00:12:00.580 Now, before we get started, in the last segment, I know we talked about companies that were imposing these vaccine mandates,

00:12:09.580 that Joe Biden was pushing them.

00:12:11.100 But I want to tell you about one company that is not imposing vaccine mandates right here in the United States of America.

00:12:17.900 And that is MyPillow.

00:12:19.440 Go to MyPillow.com.

00:12:20.580 Use promo code POSO.

00:12:21.620 Up to 66% off.

00:12:23.340 And you will support American workers and products made right here in the United States.

00:12:28.040 And also, by the way, support Human Events Daily.

00:12:31.100 Go there and show the support because they are standing up.

00:12:34.400 They're standing up for their workers.

00:12:35.900 And we need to stand up for the American workers.

00:12:38.400 It's time, by the way, for the conservatives to return to the working men and women of this country, the forgotten men and women. 0.76

00:12:47.160 That's what this is all about.

00:12:48.520 That's the entire theme.

00:12:50.960 The entire ethos of the Freedom Flu is standing up for the forgotten men and women, the people that make this country work.

00:13:00.720 And some of those people are the people that work at our strategic naval shipyards, where 40 to 50%, depending on where you go, in the north, in the south, in the east, in the west, all of our strategic shipyards, from Newport News up to Wisconsin, down to Mississippi, Alabama, right, California, all of these areas, you have workers that don't want this vaccine mandate opposed on them.

00:13:27.440 Of course, they're federal contractors.

00:13:28.780 Understand where that leaves us in terms of our naval superiority, our naval readiness, and, of course, our ability to force project and to protect the island of Taiwan.

00:13:42.740 Now, keep in mind, I've said this a hundred times.

00:13:45.560 I'll say it a hundred more times.

00:13:47.060 I do not want to go to war over Taiwan.

00:13:49.960 But if you set up a situation whereby in you have a labor shortage, you can't field aircraft carriers, you can't field submarines, you've got people in the backfield that are stuck, your supply chains are broken, people can't eat, what do you think the generals in Beijing are going to say when they see a situation like that while, by the way, faced with the crippling financial crisis that they are at home today?

00:14:18.940 Listen to this.

00:14:19.660 The complete reunification of our country must be and can be realized.

00:14:30.620 China's President Xi Jinping vowed on Saturday to realize reunification with Taiwan.

00:14:37.820 Speaking at Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Xi said the Chinese people have a glorious tradition of opposing separatism.

00:14:45.660 Xi's comments follow a week of tensions, during which Beijing dispatched about 150 Chinese military flights into Taiwan's air defense zone.

00:14:57.080 While he didn't mention the use of force, Xi's message was clear.

00:15:06.940 Taiwan independence is the greatest obstacle to national reunification and a serious hidden danger to national rejuvenation.

00:15:14.060 Those who forget their heritage, betray their motherland, and seek to split the country will come to no good.

00:15:25.580 And they will be spurned by the people and condemned by history.

00:15:29.000 His speech has not been well received in Taiwan.

00:15:39.160 Taipei, in response, called on Beijing to abandon its coercion and said its future rested in the hands of the people.

00:15:47.720 The island, which broke away from the mainland in 1949, rejects Beijing's claims of sovereignty and has its own democratically elected government.

00:15:56.440 In Xi's last major speech on Taiwan in July, he vowed to, quote, smash any attempts at formal independence.

00:16:07.400 In 2019, he directly threatened to use force to bring the island under Beijing's control.

00:16:14.040 Now again, it's been my long-time assessment, and I said this on the Taiwan, when we did the strategic briefing episode, I'll say it again.

00:16:20.800 Again, I think the policy of the CCP towards Taiwan is assimilation.

00:16:26.720 They want to do to Hong Kong or do to Taiwan what they did to Hong Kong.

00:16:30.020 Get it?

00:16:30.660 They want it to be the one country, two systems, and then gradually encroach using soft power, cultural power, language, ethnicity, nationality, bring them in.

00:16:39.640 But if they feel threatened, if they feel threatened, then you could see troops in Taipei come Christmas, if they feel their legitimacy threatened.

00:16:53.660 Stay tuned.

00:16:54.320 One more segment, huge segment, huge show today.

00:16:56.720 You do not want to miss this.

00:16:58.100 Coming right back.

00:16:58.680 Things have gotten so incredibly bad for Joe Biden that even his own Democrats and some of these erstwhile Republicans are throwing him under the bus.

00:17:13.440 What do I mean by erstwhile Republicans? 0.96

00:17:15.500 I mean the losers and haters at the bulwark. 0.98

00:17:19.860 Yes, of course, the bulwark.

00:17:21.060 The place where if you were a conservative or a quote-unquote conservative, right, a false conservative, a professional Republican as they call themselves, and you didn't support Donald Trump, and yet you found him home because there was no actual base for your failed ideology of neoconservatism, you went and brought your grifting ways over to the bulwark podcast.

00:17:39.940 So the bulwark is full of all of these failed neocons, and even they are dumping on Biden now.

00:17:47.080 Listen to them, and they're weeping, they're so sad, they're so sad, as they read the results of the latest, this was a focus group done, of Pennsylvania Democrats.

00:17:58.940 Let me just check for a second.

00:18:00.560 Was Pennsylvania a state that's just a little bit, my home state, by the way, just a little bit important to the overall picture when it comes to choosing a little thing called the electoral college,

00:18:16.140 the presidency of the presidency of the United States.

00:18:18.280 Take a listen to, and remember, this is Democrats, what Democrats are saying in Pennsylvania about Joe Biden.

00:18:25.640 Take a listen.

00:18:26.160 Meanwhile, Amy, we're looking at other polls around, that have to do with President Biden, and he's slipping.

00:18:34.700 He's slipping.

00:18:35.060 Yeah, he's struggling right now, and we started to see it over the summer as the Delta variant was taking its toll.

00:18:43.260 And then, of course, the pullout in Afghanistan and the chaos that ensued there, and now, of course, divisions within his own party.

00:18:50.780 I haven't seen, you know, what was promised.

00:18:52.900 I just think it's bad.

00:18:54.820 I'm really tired of the, you know, COVID excuse for everything, it seems like right now.

00:18:59.260 And so I think it's kind of more of the same, you know, over-promise and under-deliver in politics in general.

00:19:05.020 I would like inflation to be, like, a little more controlled, okay, because everything's, like, doubled in price in the last year.

00:19:11.940 And it's, in my opinion, going in the opposite direction than we were, quote-unquote, promised.

00:19:16.860 Inflation is being a problem.

00:19:18.820 For the case of water, used to be $5, now it's $7 and something.

00:19:23.080 It's hitting pockets, my pockets.

00:19:24.740 Even Democrats are catching the freedom flu because they are seeing the absolute collapse of this administration on their watch.

00:19:36.300 The one that they propped up, the one that they pushed into office, the one because they hated Trump so much that they would say anything, do anything, lie about anything about Trump and his supporters, about MAGA conservatives, populists.

00:19:52.700 Folks, what we're seeing here is a populist uprising, a populist revolution.

00:19:58.960 It's a little bit different.

00:20:00.300 It's a little bit different from your mom and dad's conservatism, okay, because you've got the workers on board now.

00:20:05.920 You've got some people that are more libertarian on board now.

00:20:08.900 And you've got social conservatives on board now.

00:20:11.400 This is a broad coalition.

00:20:13.600 It's an absolute broad coalition.

00:20:15.520 But it's brought together by a few basic things.

00:20:19.100 One of them, of course, one of them is agreeing that Joe Biden is an empty—he's our Yeltsin.

00:20:27.700 He's basically our Yeltsin, right?

00:20:29.780 This is the last gasp of neoliberalism.

00:20:33.700 That's what you're seeing with Joe Biden.

00:20:35.380 Now, is this an interregnum between two terms of someone else?

00:20:39.360 Remains to be seen.

00:20:40.460 But I'll tell you this.

00:20:41.580 I will tell you this.

00:20:42.700 It is—and it will come as no surprise to anyone that the worst-kept secret in politics today is that Donald J. Trump will run for president in 2024, right?

00:20:54.120 I think it's the worst-kept secret.

00:20:55.520 He's touching the waters.

00:20:56.300 He's out in Iowa.

00:20:57.680 We understand what's going, folks.

00:20:59.220 Stay tuned.

00:20:59.700 Wrap up.

00:21:00.140 Coming after this.

00:21:01.300 That's all the time we have here for Human Events Daily.

00:21:03.540 Make sure to smash that follow button.

00:21:06.040 Please leave us a review, by the way.

00:21:08.280 I was recently told that reviews are the ways that really help us with the rankings, so be the influence agent.

00:21:13.920 Share this with your Normie friends, and ask them if they like it.

00:21:16.920 Leave us a review.

00:21:17.980 If they don't like it, leave us a review, and ask what we could be doing better.

00:21:21.880 But before we go, we have to leave you with today's moment of history.

00:21:27.500 And of course, today, October 12th, 1492, Christopher Columbus, an Italian Catholic, sailing under Spain, discovered the New World.

00:21:42.200 That's right.

00:21:43.120 He did.

00:21:44.020 It's historical fact, whether you like it or not.

00:21:48.420 That's all the news we have for today.

00:21:50.060 So from myself here, and everybody at the team at HEDaily, ladies and gentlemen, you have my permission as always, lay us short.
