00:00:30.000 This is what happens when the fourth turning meets fifth generation warfare.
00:00:39.480 A commentator, international social media sensation, and former Navy intelligence veteran.
00:00:46.120 This is Human Events with your host, Jack Posobiec.
00:00:49.240 Christ is...
00:00:50.240 White House is reportedly on the verge of asking Congress to codify some very steep budget cuts.
00:00:56.380 PBS and NPR could see their budgets slashed.
00:00:59.040 The White House called the public broadcasters a grift and trash, with a laundry list of content it didn't agree with.
00:01:05.480 California has filed a lawsuit in federal court claiming the Trump administration did not take the proper steps to enact tariffs without approval from Congress.
00:01:14.600 Well, we just heard from Lord Hodge, who was presiding over this case.
00:01:19.000 There were five judges.
00:01:19.860 He said that it was a unanimous decision between the five judges that in the case of the Equality Act, the 2010 Equality Act, when it refers to woman or sex, it is referring to biological sex and not necessarily, not somebody who has a gender recognition certificate.
00:01:38.300 Today, the Department of Justice is announcing a civil lawsuit against the Maine Department of Education.
00:01:46.700 The state of Maine is discriminating against women by failing to protect women in women's sports.
00:01:53.340 Pretty basic stuff.
00:01:55.300 This is a violation of Title IX.
00:01:57.360 The angle has obtained shocking allegations leveled by the Trump administration against New York Attorney General Letitia James.
00:02:04.960 The Federal Housing Finance Agency has sent a criminal referral to the DOJ, accusing James of mortgage fraud.
00:02:12.400 President Trump says he isn't standing down from his refusal to facilitate the return of a man from Maryland, mistakenly deported and sent to a notorious Salvadorian prison.
00:02:22.300 Well, ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily here live, Washington, D.C.
00:02:28.920 Today is April 16th, 2025, Anno Domini.
00:02:33.700 Well, folks, the Maryland man hoax is breaking.
00:02:36.900 Senator Chris Van Hollen has just landed, I guess, in El Salvador, where he's on his way out to, I suppose he's on his way for a special visit with Abrego Garcia.
00:02:49.900 You know, he's he's there. I don't know if this is one of those, you know, visits with special benefits.
00:02:55.520 You know, maybe it's more of a first aid kind of thing.
00:02:58.280 Maybe he's not that kind of senator.
00:02:59.740 Then again, he is from Maryland.
00:03:01.740 So we'll see just how high his standards, if any, are.
00:03:06.220 But the entire left is going in on this.
00:03:08.980 The entire media, this this massive political stunt is going on.
00:03:12.180 And it is a political stunt, to be sure, by the way, this also proves once again that the Democrats are far better at political theater than Republicans, than conservatives, than even sometimes.
00:03:24.400 Look, we couldn't even get a guy to go to Fort Knox.
00:03:26.600 We couldn't even get a guy to go to Fort Knox.
00:03:29.220 But the Democrats will go all the way down to El Salvador.
00:03:32.080 The only problem is, of course, once again, the Democrats are supporting a criminal.
00:03:39.420 Yes, whether it's Luigi Maggioni or Carmelo Anthony or now Abrego Garcia, the Democrats just can't quit their love affair with criminals.
00:03:49.920 And, of course, as we've been explaining for years at this point, this is part of a playbook.
00:03:56.980 The problem is, of course, the Democrats have been running around saying, oh, this, you know, this guy, he's so sweet.
00:04:03.060 He's so innocent.
00:04:04.020 He's kissed by an angel.
00:04:05.240 But unfortunately, that's not the case, because his wife, who's out there giving all of these pleas, saying, please donate to our GoFundMe, please donate to our GoFundMe.
00:04:13.400 She actually filed a restraining order on him in the state of Maryland.
00:04:20.160 Kind of funny, by the way, how the entire media couldn't figure this out, and a local Maryland blog was able to pull it up, the Chesapeake Times.
00:04:29.780 And so they're able to get it up, but nobody in the entire media was able to pull this together.
00:04:37.060 She says she wants him home, and yet she kicked him out of the home and filed a restraining order on him.
00:04:44.020 Or maybe, just maybe, it's all the money that's rolling in because she saw the money rolling in for Carmelo Anthony's family that they're using to buy new cars, that they're using to get a new house.
00:04:56.260 And she thinks, I want to get some of that for myself.
00:05:00.160 It's disgusting, but understand, what you're looking at is a parasitic operation and a playbook that's been in place for a long, long time.
00:05:10.080 We'll be right back.
00:05:10.680 Human Events Daily continues.
00:05:16.400 What America First truly means.

00:05:47.540 It's so reported.
00:05:49.060 The influx of sicknesses taking over America, we know this.
00:05:52.000 It's not natural.
00:05:53.060 We've seen all these trails in the sky and, most recently, bizarre fogs that are now proven to have the serratia mesoprensis bacteria in the samples tested.
00:06:02.920 With the wellness company's medical emergency kit, you can tackle serious health concerns to avoid hospitalization or until you can see a doctor.

00:06:24.940 The process is fully digital.
00:06:27.120 The medical board has created a guidebook that outlines common treatments.
00:06:30.760 We're talking UTIs, strep throat, bacterial infections, respiratory illnesses, and so much more.
00:06:35.420 All it takes is filling out a digital intake form, and within one to two weeks, your kit arrives at your door.

00:06:55.100 Okay.
00:06:55.260 We've got to talk about all this stuff, the GoFundMes, the gives and goes, the massive fraud that's going on in America, the Democrats going all in on all of this.
00:07:06.260 Kenny Cody joins us now.
00:07:07.640 He's the pin editor of humanevents.com.
00:07:10.760 Kenny, walk me through, just on this case of the Maryland man hoax, do the Democrats really think that this is their best argument going into the midterms?
00:07:22.100 Is this really what they want to make the conversation all about?
00:07:25.600 Well, it seems like they are playing the entire George Floyd card way too much.
00:07:31.020 I think they think it's going to have the same amount of racial division.
00:07:35.040 I think it's going to have the same amount of grifting from these families that's wanting to contribute to these criminals.
00:07:39.800 And Carmelo Anthony and Garcia both are criminals that deserve the punishment they got.
00:07:45.960 Anthony actually has leniency considering they lay my $250,000 bone.
00:07:49.760 His bone is usually a million dollars.
00:07:51.600 And that shows the impact that they want to continue to have on the judicial system and the political system.
00:07:56.820 They want to continue to divide and continue to grift and paint Republicans, conservatives out and want people out to be just inherently racist.
00:08:05.940 The Trump administration is racist because they're deporting somebody who's protected and associated with MS-13.
00:08:12.000 When Trump signed an executive order designating MS-13 as a terrorist organization to take action against MS-13, he has the outright right to absolutely deport this guy if he is associated with a terrorist organization.
00:08:28.060 Just like if anybody was associated with Al-Qaeda, anybody was associated with any – and with ISIS, any terrorist organization, we'd have the right to deport them or originally where they were from and prosecute them.
00:08:38.440 We have the right to deport Garcia.
00:08:40.380 And Carmelo Anthony should be scrutinized as much as anybody because he killed Austin Metcalfe in cold blood all over a seating arrangement.
00:08:49.100 The fact that they are trying to die on this hill, Republicans should be willing to call them how they're aligned with criminals, how they continue to be aligned with crime.
00:08:57.800 But unfortunately, Republicans aren't strong enough to paint them out to be the crime-embracing evil tyrants that they are.
00:09:07.360 And so this is what we've talked about for so long.
00:09:12.020 We call this the system of anarcho-tyranny.
00:09:14.060 We talked about this in the book on humans, secret history of communist revolutions, how to crush them, that it's anarchy for you, the law-abiding citizen.
00:09:24.340 That's why the violent predators are let out of jail.
00:09:28.240 But it's tyranny for everyone else.
00:09:30.860 So what does that mean?
00:09:32.440 Tyranny in the sense of they use fear.
00:09:35.020 They ratchet the fear up to gain control over you, gain control over society.
00:09:40.960 And in addition, by the way, I just got to say it, identity politics.
00:09:44.940 This is identity politics yet again.
00:09:47.300 The Democrats can't quit the identity politics.
00:09:50.240 They see a minority, and they say this person must be a victim.
00:09:54.880 They can't possibly be an MS-13 member.
00:09:57.300 Carmelo Anthony can't possibly be a murderer because they immediately turn on the identity politics card, and they go all in on this.
00:10:04.360 They'll defend a guy who's an MS-13 member who has committed domestic violence against his wife, who was kicked out of the House.
00:10:11.380 She has a restraining order on him, Carmelo Anthony.
00:10:13.440 They'll sit there and defend.
00:10:14.340 And by the way, I'm not going to say that I've seen high-level Democrats defending Carmelo Anthony, but you certainly do see a lot of Democrats and a lot of activists and a lot of BLM types defending him and raising money for him.
00:10:25.960 And he stabbed a kid in the chest.
00:10:27.840 But, oh, well, you know, he's the real victim.
00:10:30.780 It's identity politics.
00:10:32.420 The Democrats just can't walk away from it because they haven't yet learned the lesson, I think, of 2024.
00:10:40.900 That's why Chris Van Hollen is all over this thing.
00:10:43.580 He doesn't care, by the way.
00:10:45.200 I love it.
00:10:46.240 I went through Chris Van Hollen, Senator of Maryland, his Twitter account last night, and I pulled up.
00:10:52.020 I said, have you ever once tweeted the name Rachel Morin?
00:10:55.240 Rachel Morin, an American mother of five whose family still lives in Maryland.
00:10:59.400 Five children that still live there.
00:11:03.500 Her family, her sister, her mother, they all still live there.
00:11:06.280 Sister's got a business.
00:11:08.080 She was selling her knitings up on Etsy just to help provide for these kids who no longer have their mother.
00:11:15.400 Chris Van Hollen doesn't care about them.
00:11:17.180 He's not helping the family out.
00:11:18.820 He won't even say their name.
00:11:20.000 These Democrats, by the way, Kenny, they can't even tell you the name of the guy who was just convicted of murdering her.
00:11:26.000 It's completely upside down, but I really do think that it's the identity politics and the wokeness that the Democrats have married themselves to that has completely hijacked their entire party.
00:11:37.960 Well, absolutely.
00:11:39.360 And it's Republicans' fault that we're not aligning them with the choice that they're making.
00:11:44.100 Democrats are aligning with criminals.
00:11:45.940 They're aligning with Carmela Anthony.
00:11:47.200 They're aligning with Garcia, and they're aligning with any criminal as long as they expose them and to make sure Republicans look bad, whether it's on illegal immigration, whether it's race relations, whether it's black versus white.
00:11:57.980 They're always going to side with the minorities that they think that they can use for political pulley.
00:12:03.020 They want to bring Garcia back so he can vote for them, so his family can vote for them.
00:12:07.940 They want to ensure that Carmela Anthony is protected so his family and those that align and sympathize with him through racial division vote for them.
00:12:15.920 This is a political ploy in order to convince minorities to vote Democratic.
00:12:20.680 It's been their ploy since the 1960s.
00:12:22.800 This is something that is ever occurring with the Democratic Party.
00:12:26.300 They do not care to make white people look bad.
00:12:28.720 They don't care to make Republicans look bad.
00:12:30.240 They don't care to make conservatives look bad as long as they can capitalize and racially divide the country and then ensure that their voters are brought in to continue to ensure that minorities vote for them en masse with African Americans, with Hispanics.
00:12:46.140 And they're also losing that battle.
00:12:48.660 They know that Hispanics are now inherently voting for Republicans and coming over to the conservative side, but they want to ensure that they can make Republicans out there.
00:12:55.880 They're going to deport all Hispanics.
00:12:58.320 They're going to deport and ensure even if they're technically from Maryland, even though this guy is associated with him as 13, they're going to make it about immigrant versus American.
00:13:07.700 And instead of ensuring and paying them for aligning with crime, which is that what Republicans ran on in 2024 is anti-crime.
00:13:14.720 They assured they got elected to political office, but now at the risk of them being painted as racist, they're not going to be willing to speak on issues such as Garcia and such as Carmela Anthony,
00:13:23.240 because Republicans continue to be weak and Democrats continue to use identity politics to win elections and to win the narrative battle.
00:13:29.880 Well, they will.
00:13:30.980 And, you know, something else, you know, they they go all in on political theater.
00:13:35.420 And you know what?
00:13:36.460 Republicans should actually embrace a little bit more political theater.
00:13:40.280 Now, certainly you saw President Trump do this when he brought the angel moms forward.
00:13:45.600 And I'm not saying, by the way, political theater for as in terms of stunts.
00:13:49.300 I mean, actually doing things that benefit real American victims of illegal immigration, naming just the Jocelyn Nungary wildlife preserve down there in the Gulf of America,
00:14:02.440 going out and bringing forward these angel moms and rally after rally, having them at the White House, et cetera.
00:14:08.620 These are things that are good, by the way, that are done, but you don't really see the Republican senators.
00:14:14.540 You don't see the Republican establishment guys.
00:14:16.080 They don't do this.
00:14:16.820 There's so much more that could be done in these instances that we're just not seeing that.
00:14:22.120 I think Republicans really, really need to work a little bit harder at because that's how the game works these days, guys.
00:14:29.560 It doesn't matter just going viral on Twitter, et cetera.
00:14:32.260 I can go viral on Twitter, but what you really need is for you to get off your duff and go do something yourself.
00:14:40.200 We'll be right back here.
00:14:41.180 Jack Posobiec, Human Events Daily, and we are talking with Kenny Cody, Human Events Opinion Editor.
00:14:47.480 This is America's Voice, Salem Radio.
00:14:56.180 Today, you know, they talk about influencers.
00:14:58.940 These are influencers, and they're friends of mine, Jack Posobiec.
00:15:04.860 Where's Jack?
00:15:05.820 Jack.
00:15:06.800 He's done a great job.
00:15:08.720 All right, Jack Posobiec, we are back here.
00:15:14.060 Human Events Daily, Washington, D.C.
00:15:17.840 Now, one of the things that, by the way, I wanted to say that I mentioned the Chesapeake Daily.
00:15:23.060 It's actually Chesapeake Today that had that blog on Jennifer Vasquez earlier and Abrago Garcia's wife who filed for domestic violence against him.
00:15:35.360 I think there's actually multiple filings at this point that go back several years.
00:15:39.900 So, one of the things that a lot of people have pointed out, they say, what about the Supreme Court ruling?
00:15:45.580 And I think that's something that a lot of people are saying, wait a minute, wait a minute, that's really rocketed this back into the headlines because the story had kind of died down when it came out that this guy was, in fact, an illegal alien and a member of MS-13.
00:15:56.600 And people have said, well, it's 9-0, and I've seen the TikToks running around.
00:16:01.680 Even Clarence Thomas agrees.
00:16:04.140 Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
00:16:05.480 But here's the problem.
00:16:07.360 There's so many problems with this.
00:16:08.760 Number one, the original deportation order is still in place.
00:16:13.760 What they don't understand is, is that the ruling that came out on the original deportation order regarding his quote-unquote asylum claim, which wasn't even really an asylum claim, it was a protection from violence claim, was that he couldn't be deported to El Salvador.
00:16:31.440 So he could still be deported, just not to El Salvador.
00:16:34.260 That's what they would need another hearing on if he were to come back.
00:16:37.800 That's the only other piece of this that's part of the puzzle.
00:16:42.100 He can still be deported because the deportation order is still valid.
00:16:45.760 The other part of it is, the judge at the district level ruled that the Trump administration must bring him back.
00:16:53.040 And actually, the phrase that was used was facilitate and effectuate.
00:16:58.200 Well, the Supreme Court had a sort of dual ruling where they said, you can say that the Trump administration needs to facilitate this because of the administrative issue,
00:17:08.000 but also, you cannot effectuate his return to the United States because the court system is the judiciary.
00:17:18.160 The judiciary cannot demand that the president go to a foreign country, right, El Salvador, foreign country,
00:17:26.000 and demand that one of their citizens who is in their custody, locked up under their laws, be released to the United States when the man has no right to be here at all.
00:17:37.900 So, Kenny Cody, we're on with you from humanevents.com, the opinion editor.
00:17:43.560 There's just been so much misinformation about this case, just like the Carmelo Anthony case.
00:17:49.760 The Dems just can't seem to stick with the truth, can they?
00:17:54.480 No, and I think that's a very important distinction.
00:17:57.180 You know, all diplomacy, all foreign policy, anything that has to do with any other country,
00:18:01.600 especially when it's a citizen or a non-citizen that is originally from El Salvador,
00:18:06.780 we don't have any jurisdiction over that, and the executive branch can decide, hey, if we want to bring him back, they can.
00:18:12.160 And if they want to work out a deal, you know, like the Brittany Griner case or anything like that,
00:18:16.000 they can choose to do that, but they are not forced to.
00:18:19.200 And I think that's an important distinction.
00:18:21.340 The Trump administration isn't violating federal law.
00:18:23.560 It isn't violating a judicial decision.
00:18:25.240 It isn't going against the Supreme Court because they are in heat that Garcia is now in El Salvador's custody.
00:18:31.800 And El Salvador now is a pretty tough-on-crime country because of their new president, Kelly,
00:18:36.200 and I think that's an important distinction there.
00:18:38.580 They can do with him what they want to.
00:18:41.020 He is not a tax-abiding citizen.
00:18:42.380 He's not a U.S. citizen.
00:18:43.280 He's a Maryland resident, but he's not technically a United States citizen.
00:18:46.660 So he is now back in his country of origin.
00:18:49.820 They have complete jurisdiction over that, and diplomacy is handled by the executive branch.
00:18:54.060 That's why it's important to designate a difference in executive powers, a distinction with checks and balances and the separation of powers.
00:19:02.600 The executive branch has every single route in the world to deport him under this executive order that is targeting MS-13 gang members
00:19:09.300 that have been designated as a terrorist organization.
00:19:12.360 He is now back to his country of origin, and they will do with him what they will.
00:19:17.200 President Trump and his administration, nor any department under Homeland Security or anything else,
00:19:22.300 can be forced to facilitate his return now that he has gone from the country.
00:19:26.140 It is up to El Salvador to deal with him, not us.
00:19:28.660 And that's an important narrative that the mainstream media, Democrats, and even a lot of Republicans are missing out on.
00:19:33.460 At the end of the day, Kenny, Cody, and we just got about a minute to the break, all of this for an illegal alien,
00:19:42.140 is this really what the Democrats want to make the argument about going into the midterms?
00:19:46.260 I know he's still a little ways away, but at the end of the day, this is what the American people voted for.
00:19:51.920 You wanted mass deportations, and President Trump is delivering exactly that.
00:19:57.040 We should allow the Democrats to overplay their hand like they did with the George Floyd case,
00:20:02.500 like they did with the January 6th nonsense.
00:20:05.040 Let them overplay their hand with Garcia and Carmelo Anthony,
00:20:08.600 and Republicans should be actually willing to stand up and say,
00:20:11.140 Democrats align with crime, Democrats side with criminals over American citizens and peace and prosperity,
00:20:16.880 and we should allow them to overplay their hand like they have so many times in the past,
00:20:20.880 if conservatives and Republicans are willing to stand for it.
00:20:23.560 Couldn't agree more, folks.
00:20:26.360 Go follow Kenny Cody.
00:20:28.320 He's doing great work there at humanevents.com.
00:20:31.860 Give him a follow on X as well.
00:20:34.020 This is Jack Posobiec.
00:20:35.520 You're listening and watching to Human Events Daily.
00:20:39.640 We're on Real America's Voice, the Salem Radio Network.
00:20:42.200 We'll be right back with Orrin Kass from American Compass on an update on the Trump tariff.
00:20:46.960 Stay tuned.
00:20:47.280 And Jack, where is Jack?
00:21:00.240 Where is Jack?
00:21:02.500 Where is he?
00:21:03.800 Jack, I want to see you.
00:21:07.460 Great job, Jack.
00:21:08.900 Thank you.
00:21:09.660 What a job you do.
00:21:11.080 You know, we have an incredible thing.
00:21:12.480 We're always talking about the fake news and the bad,
00:21:14.560 but we have guys, and these are the guys that should be getting Pulisic.
00:21:19.980 All right, Jack Posobiec, we are back live.
00:21:23.060 Human Events Daily here, Washington, D.C.
00:21:27.980 And folks, you know, I want you to listen up,
00:21:30.900 because if you are still drinking that corporate watered-down nonsense that you call coffee,
00:21:36.300 it's time for a serious wake-up call.
00:21:38.340 And I'm talking about blackout coffee.
00:21:40.780 Blackout coffee, it's not just coffee.
00:21:42.420 It's a statement, a statement and a declaration that you are done with weak beans and weak values.
00:21:49.120 This is high-octane American roasted fuel for those who grind harder, stand taller, and never back down.
00:21:55.820 Look, I love this stuff.
00:21:57.180 You know, by the way, you know, it's been lent, so I gave up energy drinks,
00:22:01.160 been switching more to the blackout coffee.
00:22:04.180 And I got to tell you, it's been great.
00:22:07.400 Blackout coffee doesn't play games.
00:22:08.580 They're cranking out more bags than ever.
00:22:10.780 They ship faster than ever, and they keep you locked in with coffee that actually fires you up.
00:22:16.040 Whether you're chasing big goals, crushing the daily grind,
00:22:18.580 or just refusing to drink coffee made by people who hate you,
00:22:22.460 blackout coffee has your back, so stop settling.
00:22:25.180 Go to blackoutcoffee.com slash POSO and use promo code POSO for 20% off your first order.
00:22:32.160 Brew like a patriot.
00:22:34.560 Brew blackout.
00:22:35.720 That's blackoutcoffee.com slash POSO.
00:22:38.660 Stop waiting.
00:22:39.800 Let's do it right now.
00:22:41.940 I want to bring on now Oren Kass.
00:22:44.620 I want to bring him back on the show, I should say.
00:22:46.560 He's the chief economist over at American Compass.
00:22:49.360 Oren, when we last had you on, we were going through your plan for a bit of,
00:22:54.660 you know, perhaps restructuring, I guess the best word, of the Trump's economic deal,
00:23:00.300 which I've been calling the great deal vis-a-vis tariffs, and it looks as though they may have somewhat taken some of your advice.
00:23:10.160 Tell me how you see the plan as it stands now.
00:23:13.560 Well, I think they've made some really good course corrections, and thanks for having me back.
00:23:19.560 It's great to see you again.
00:23:21.660 Things are moving so quickly right now.
00:23:24.660 I think the most important thing that they did was to postpone a lot of the tariffs.
00:23:31.360 You know, they had this category that they were calling the reciprocal tariffs that were targeted at most countries,
00:23:37.360 a lot of our allies, and intended, very importantly, to get those allies to change their practices,
00:23:43.680 to have trade practices that are a lot friendlier to the United States.
00:23:48.440 But slapping all those tariffs on from day one was unsurprisingly causing a lot of disruption.
00:23:55.000 It was causing a lot of costs that I don't think we really needed if the goal was to have new negotiations.
00:24:01.000 And so what they've done is to put those on hold, say, we want to try to have the negotiations first.
00:24:05.680 And if the negotiations don't get anywhere, then the tariffs are still looming in the background.
00:24:11.140 And so I think that's the right way to treat our allies.
00:24:14.620 We're already seeing progress in some of the negotiations.
00:24:17.820 And then it separates out China because they didn't take it off China.
00:24:21.840 To the contrary, the tariffs with China have been going up even more.
00:24:26.440 And, you know, I think we have to find a way to do that a little bit more gradually as well.
00:24:31.260 But it's very good that we're separating China out and saying we have allies that we want to fix this with and have free trade with.
00:24:38.180 And then we have China, who is not playing by the rules, is not going to play by the rules, is not a good partner for the United States.
00:24:45.480 And they need to be on the outside looking in.
00:24:47.900 And this has been a huge issue.
00:24:52.140 Now, we've also seen, by the way, China, I've been tracking the ASEAN meeting.
00:24:55.940 China, of course, going down, meeting with ASEAN, of course, Malaysia, who they've had a ton of deals with in the past, but also Vietnam.
00:25:03.320 And Vietnam is a huge piece of this because a lot of the manufacturing that was moved out of China, they called it nearshoring.
00:25:09.840 But it wasn't really because they just moved it south to Vietnam, who has been a, you know, certainly a longtime antagonist for China.
00:25:17.160 But having Xi Jinping go down there and really point out and sign a lot of new trade deals with the Vietnamese, I think, shows that China is making big moves.
00:25:28.580 This is the first time, by the way, that Xi Jinping has gone to ASEAN.
00:25:32.080 Typically, China sends a lower level delegation, but the fact that he was there himself shows to me that China actually is taking this very seriously because they want to pretend as if they don't have as much exposure to the expert markets as they want us to think.
00:25:49.700 And they say, oh, we have this, you know, burgeoning Chinese middle class.
00:25:52.280 We'll be able to sell things domestically and internally.
00:25:54.820 And I just don't quite think that's the case, is it?
00:25:58.640 Well, certainly not at this point.
00:26:00.440 And the funny thing, that's, you know, that's what the United States has been pushing them toward.
00:26:04.700 It's been saying, if you want to be a good participant in a global economy, you can't just be producing enormous amounts of stuff that you dump onto the market, into other markets.
00:26:15.780 You need to have your consumers buying more of Chinese made stuff.
00:26:19.960 And then you need to have your consumers buying more stuff from around the world.
00:26:24.100 And so far, China has just shown no willingness to do that.
00:26:27.640 In fact, right now, you know, some folks are saying the world is going through kind of a China shock 2.0, a whole nother unprecedented wave of additional manufacturing that is kind of flooding global markets.
00:26:41.960 And so, you know, I think the reality is that at the end of the day, this isn't going to be everybody sides with the U.S. and China is isolated and alone.
00:26:51.580 China is a powerful country.
00:26:53.160 It has its own interests.
00:26:54.260 It has allies.
00:26:55.680 It has countries like, you know, Vietnam that are very much dependent on it in various ways.
00:27:02.120 And that may be part of what happens in the long run.
00:27:04.920 What the United States can't tolerate any longer is what we've had going on where, you know, we say, well, we need to keep China at a distance, but Mexico is our trading partner and Mexico welcomes China in.
00:27:18.040 And so now all the Chinese stuff just comes to us, let's say, through Mexico.
00:27:21.640 And so what I think the Trump administration is really focused on is saying we want to have strong alliances.
00:27:26.780 We want to have free trade with our partners, but they all need to hold hands with us, both on having fair and balanced trade amongst ourselves and on all agreeing that China and China's way of doing business is not welcome.
00:27:40.100 Look, you know, it's actually something that I find it so funny because, you know, Gavin Newsom is out there and he's suing the Trump administration now regarding tariffs on behalf of California.
00:27:52.160 And it's like, not that long ago, it was the Democrats and it was the left that were opposing China.
00:28:00.320 They were the ones, go back to 1999, that were loudly and in some cases violently.
00:28:05.060 In the case of you had these far leftists, the Antifa, the whole Battle of Seattle.
00:28:08.400 What was that about?
00:28:09.200 It was about denying China access to the world, this ascension to the WTO.
00:28:14.600 And it ultimately corrupted the World Trade Organization.
00:28:18.160 I don't usually agree with the far left, but they were right about this.
00:28:21.400 They were absolutely right that allowing China into the WTO would completely corrupt the global economic system.
00:28:28.220 It did.
00:28:29.140 And it hurt American workers.
00:28:31.620 And now you turn things around and suddenly it's like it's the, you know, sort of former Democrats turned Republicans like Donald Trump.
00:28:39.200 Like Elon Musk, like many others that are now coming around and saying, well, not that Elon is a super tariff guy.
00:28:45.140 I don't mean to say that, but I just mean to say that you're seeing a lot of Democrats become Republicans.
00:28:49.060 But they're bringing this idea of Peter Navarro, former Democrat, by the way, bringing this idea, California Democrat, bringing this idea of protectionism back online.
00:28:59.900 And that's really what it's about.
00:29:00.940 And I wanted to also mention, you know, you have a whole new book out that's coming out, The Once and Future Worker.
00:29:07.200 And that's exactly what you're talking about here.
00:29:09.240 It's this idea of actually working on having government work on behalf of American workers.
00:29:13.720 Yeah, the switch that you're describing in the political parties is something we're seeing going on in so many ways that as the Democratic Party becomes much more aligned with, you know, the highest income, college-educated workforce in big cities.
00:29:32.060 And you're seeing the working class move much more into the Republican Party, and that's playing out in all sorts of ways, right?
00:29:39.460 You're seeing labor unions starting to align a little bit more with the Republican Party, and Republicans reach out to labor unions.
00:29:46.780 You're seeing on these trade issues, in all sorts of ways, the Democratic Party, especially because they just cannot bring themselves to agree with Trump ever about anything, find themselves, if Trump does something that's good for workers, well, then the Democrats are going to be against it.
00:30:04.920 And, you know, I had Congressman Jared Golden, he's a Democrat from rural Maine.
00:30:09.480 He was on the American podcast, excuse me, the American Compass podcast, talking with me last week, because he's a big supporter of these tariffs.
00:30:17.920 And he sees it's not about which party or, you know, which president is promoting them.
00:30:22.040 He thinks they can really help workers in his district.
00:30:25.260 And he's getting attacked, all these other Democrats.
00:30:29.180 He says, wait, I thought this is what we were for, but there are too many Democrats out there that are now just for being against Donald Trump.
00:30:36.860 And if Trump is going to do things that that that is good for workers, it's going to push Democrats into a worse position in a lot of ways.
00:30:45.940 You know, that's a great example, you know, the industrial northeast.
00:30:48.980 I've got I've got family up there, by the way, Sanford, Maine, and that that whole area in that it's very post industrial down to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where the Navy Yards are in that whole area of New England, which used to be this this huge textile hub.
00:31:03.500 It was a shipmaking hub. Of course, this is something, by the way, that J.D. Vance has talked about again and again, our shipbuilding capacity.
00:31:11.140 That's what New England was famous for.
00:31:13.040 By the way, even in colonial times, it was known for shipbuilding.
00:31:18.020 That's why, by the way, that New England has that shipbuilding base up there, because that's exactly what they did.
00:31:24.240 That's literally why it's called New England.
00:31:26.020 And so much of the manufacturing and trade that went through there has completely been gutted by these practices.
00:31:33.120 And I think it's something where I've spent a lot of time in Maine.
00:31:36.060 And like I said, I have family there.
00:31:37.580 It's it's one of those places where once you get get off of the, you know, sort of the coastal Kenny Bunkport areas,
00:31:43.820 you realize that a lot of the state is economically depressed because of these very same forces.
00:31:49.040 Yeah, shipbuilding is a great example, right?
00:31:52.960 Because, as you said, the United States used to be a leader in shipbuilding.
00:31:57.260 Now we make essentially no ships.
00:31:59.580 Ships are all made in China and Korea.
00:32:02.640 And you asked, like, well, why is that right?
00:32:05.540 Economists said, well, we're going to do free trade.
00:32:08.660 Other countries will specialize the stuff they're best in.
00:32:10.980 We'll specialize in the stuff we're best in.
00:32:13.660 Why don't why don't we make ships anymore?
00:32:15.520 It's not because there's anything special about Korea or China that makes it a better place to make ships.
00:32:21.700 It's because those governments, their policy said this stuff matters.
00:32:25.680 We're going to actually support it and make sure we're good at it.
00:32:28.900 And we had too many leaders in the United States who just shrugged and said, we don't care.
00:32:33.120 It doesn't matter what we make here.
00:32:34.860 It doesn't matter if we make anything here.
00:32:37.060 And sure enough, now there's a lot of stuff we just don't make anymore.
00:32:41.140 And I think, you know, underlying so much of President Trump's push is a recognition that making things matters.
00:32:48.960 And if making things matters, then free trade can be great.
00:32:52.380 But free trade can only be great if you get to make stuff and buy stuff.
00:32:56.060 And this system where the rest of the world gets to make stuff and we just get to buy stuff, it hollows out our economy.
00:33:02.180 It leaves us further in debt.
00:33:04.380 And it's been a disaster for a lot of workers.
00:33:06.740 I think it's exactly right.
00:33:10.640 Oren, where can people get the book and where can they follow you for more?
00:33:14.780 Once a Future Worker is available wherever books are sold.
00:33:18.160 We also have a new book coming out next month called The New Conservatives that really kind of tells the story of what's going on with the way the right of center is thinking about stuff.
00:33:28.580 And you can find me on Substack.
00:33:31.960 I write a Substack called Understanding America.
00:33:33.880 Understanding America, folks, go give Oren Kass a follow.
00:33:40.140 If you're looking for someone who really lays this out, who really goes deep in the weeds, go check out his book as well, because he walks you through everything that's going on and what the Trump administration and the new agenda is all about.
00:33:52.820 Be right back here.
00:33:54.040 Human Events Daily.
00:33:55.000 Jack is over.
00:33:55.500 Jack is a great guy.
00:34:03.420 He's written a fantastic book.
00:34:05.100 Everybody's talking about it.
00:34:06.360 Go get it.
00:34:07.460 And he's been my friend right from the beginning of this whole beautiful event.
00:34:11.440 And we're going to turn it around and make our country great.
00:34:14.400 Amen.
00:34:14.840 Everyone's been back and forth.
00:34:17.940 To me, I don't see any evidence of a self-defense argument here.
00:34:21.480 I mean, sure, you can make the claim.
00:34:22.600 I just don't see evidence for it being successful at trial.
00:34:26.640 But the thing that I asked for is, what's the dog that's not barking?
00:34:29.600 And so teenagers, we just talked about how, you know, teenagers are always on their cell phones.
00:34:34.000 They're always looking for the next piece of content.
00:34:35.880 They're sort of trained to look for content and trained by the algorithm that you will be rewarded for content.
00:34:41.720 So you see two people fighting.
00:34:43.900 The instinctual response, it's Pavlovian at this point.
00:34:47.440 Teenagers pull the cell phone out and you start filming.
00:34:50.340 So the idea, I'm sure there are multiple videos.
00:34:53.560 The question is why I haven't seen any.
00:34:55.200 And so if the police department, you know, I would implore them to get it out.
00:34:59.480 Obviously, you know, blur out anything that's specifically gory.
00:35:02.700 We don't want to see someone being killed, you know, for its own sake.
00:35:05.760 But we want the evidence.
00:35:07.100 All right, Jack, we're back live.
00:35:08.420 Human events daily here on Real America's Voice in the Salem Radio Network.
00:35:14.500 Folks, this Carmelo Anthony case is just burning up the airwaves.
00:35:19.740 It's burning up the timeline.
00:35:21.260 It's burning up the cybernet, the internet waves, if you will.
00:35:25.120 And so there's an interesting situation that's going on with the family.
00:35:32.320 And people are starting to ask questions about the lavish spending that the family seems to be doing or seems to have been involved with.
00:35:39.400 Even though the father, we're told, has taken a leave of absence from where he worked as a finance manager at a car dealership where there's some talk about them moving.
00:35:53.180 So they've raised all this money on give, send, go.
00:35:55.140 And, you know, when I was on TimCast before and this whole debate came up, I said, look, I'm not against taking down legal defense funds because I believe that people should have the right to a legal defense.
00:36:11.340 I said that.
00:36:12.640 Okay.
00:36:12.860 I said, I've never called for the cancellation of other people's legal defense funds.
00:36:17.480 And I was very supportive, I've always been very supportive of give, send, go because they stood by who?
00:36:22.580 The Canadian Freedom Truckers.
00:36:24.460 Remember the honk honk?
00:36:25.580 They stood by all the Jan Sixers.
00:36:27.740 And, in fact, they stood by Kyle Rittenhouse and his ability to raise a legal defense.
00:36:32.840 However, I don't remember Kyle Rittenhouse going and moving into a new gated community.
00:36:39.280 I don't remember Kyle Rittenhouse driving around in a Cadillac Escalade when all of this was going on.
00:36:44.060 No, that's not what he did at all.
00:36:47.480 But, unfortunately, what we're hearing from this family is one of the neighbors says that the family has just gotten a new car.
00:36:55.580 If you look at the license plate, it's got a paper tag.
00:36:58.280 And, now, again, you know, this is a neighbor statement.
00:37:01.360 I mentioned before that the family has, you know, the father worked at a car dealership.
00:37:07.540 So, there's a lot of questions about that.
00:37:11.160 But, I do think there is a statement out there from this advocate who said they're planning to move to a new home.
00:37:20.080 So, you're moving to a new home.
00:37:21.500 Are you dipping into this defense fund?
00:37:26.360 And, if so, that's fraud.
00:37:28.560 If so, that is absolutely fraud.
00:37:32.360 This was solicited as a legal defense fund.
00:37:36.800 It was described as a legal defense fund.
00:37:40.140 Your advocate went up and described it as a legal defense fund.
00:37:43.840 And, sure enough, even the officials of Give, Send, Go described it as a legal defense fund.
00:37:50.400 So, dipping in and playing these games, I guess there's a new update on the fund.
00:37:56.180 And, I want to read the new update on it that says,
00:37:58.660 While legal defense is a critical part of this journey,
00:38:05.220 we want to make clear that this fund is not solely dedicated to legal expenses.
00:38:10.160 The funds raised will also support a range of urgent and necessary needs
00:38:17.060 that have emerged as a result of this situation,
00:38:20.940 including but not limited to the safe relocation of the Anthony family.
00:38:28.000 They claim that there's escalating threats to their safety.
00:38:31.720 I don't see anything in here about the safety of Austin Metcalf,
00:38:36.000 who was stabbed and murdered by Carmelo Anthony,
00:38:40.580 and their well-being as well as basic living costs,
00:38:44.860 transportation, counseling, and other security measures.
00:38:49.140 Transportation?
00:38:51.660 Did you just say transportation?
00:38:54.060 As in, like, I don't know, perhaps a vehicle?
00:38:58.000 To transport you in?
00:38:59.720 As in, like, a new car?
00:39:00.780 So, right there you see relocation and transportation.
00:39:03.540 And I'm sorry, but the way this looks is that it's completely out of control.
00:39:10.280 And I certainly hope that A.G. Paxton and everyone else takes a deep look into this.
00:39:14.840 Because if this is fraud, then guess what?
00:39:18.040 You've got the same example of what's going on with the Give, Send, Go,
00:39:21.120 and the GoFundMe and the Abrago Garcia case, right?
00:39:25.100 They are milking these cases so that they can get money off of them.
00:39:31.080 And the advocate, he loves it.
00:39:32.940 By the way, this advocate, Dominique Alexander,
00:39:35.480 I looked up his record as well.
00:39:36.980 Beating a toddler.
00:39:38.400 All right, he's been arrested multiple times.
00:39:40.080 He's been jailed multiple times.
00:39:41.400 A ton of domestic violence on him.
00:39:42.680 And yet, the Democrats keep giving money to these cases.
00:39:49.680 The left will sit there until they're blue in the face.
00:39:53.520 But what they won't say is, show us the videos.
00:39:57.780 And that's the dog that's not barking.
00:39:59.900 Let's show the video.
00:40:00.780 That's all I've been saying for the last couple of weeks,
00:40:03.960 or at least since this came out.
00:40:05.180 I think it was April 4th when it happened.
00:40:07.200 Show us the videos.
00:40:09.480 What happened?
00:40:10.580 What went down?
00:40:12.000 What's actually going on in these cases?
00:40:15.120 Because we know the police have it.
00:40:16.660 A couple of kids that attract me, teenagers.
00:40:18.860 Yeah, you know there's going to be cell phone videos.
00:40:21.540 So where are they?
00:40:23.160 And the dog that's not barking is that the family advocate
00:40:26.220 has not said a word about the videos.
00:40:29.940 He's just more than happy to rake in hundreds and thousands of dollars.
00:40:34.300 Ladies and gentlemen, as always,
00:40:36.280 you have my permission to lay ashore.
