00:07:15.360 Thank you.
00:07:15.760 What is it about Phoenix and Arizona in general, by the way?
00:07:19.380 Actually, it was Tucson, Arizona.
00:07:20.700 Forgive me.
00:07:21.300 Oh, yeah?
00:07:22.060 Yeah.
00:07:22.320 Hey, what's up?
00:07:23.000 Yeah, Tucson.
00:07:23.800 I didn't know we had a Tucson crew in here.
00:07:25.480 What the hell was that?
00:07:26.160 Yeah, what was that?
00:07:27.140 We just had an uprising.
00:07:28.560 Who claims Tucson?
00:07:29.520 Tucson!
00:07:30.320 Dude, Tucson doesn't even claim Tucson.
00:07:32.740 I love Tucson.
00:07:34.460 There's a school there, yeah?
00:07:35.420 Manager Jeff is raising his hand.
00:07:38.420 University of Arizona.
00:07:39.280 University of Arizona.
00:07:39.640 U of A.
00:07:40.100 Same with Dylan 1.00
00:07:40.860 University of Arizona is supposedly the hottest girls on the planet 1.00
00:07:44.320 That's right there in Tempe right 1.00
00:07:45.500 Is that right
00:07:46.920 I'm thinking Arizona State right
00:07:49.220 I don't think we're ever going to get this one right
00:07:51.680 I don't know
00:07:53.480 But that's because it's a college
00:07:54.760 Colleges in general I don't know anything about
00:07:57.020 I can't get into them
00:07:58.680 You know what I'm saying
00:08:00.340 It's true you flunked out
00:08:02.600 We did want to talk about the chihuahuas
00:08:05.600 So how does it work
00:08:07.240 I'm picturing you with two chihuahuas
00:08:10.080 that's interesting yeah well um you know i've had my dogs for a very long time one of them she's
00:08:16.660 about to be 17 the other one's 10 and uh i've been taking them on the road now for about five years
00:08:21.400 you love these dogs i love these dogs these dogs uh they bring me a lot of joy really you know it's
00:08:25.560 one of those things where i don't argue with them they just all they want from me is just to hang
00:08:29.480 out just do this what are their names vinny and risa risa in spanish means laughter in case you're
00:08:34.500 wondering oh that's amazing well one thing that doesn't usually spell laughter is chihuahuas
00:08:38.200 they're some of the most violent dog breeds on the planet they're there you know what the reason
00:08:42.120 when people find out how old my my oldest is they're like wow she's that old i go yeah uh
00:08:46.940 anger keeps her alive that you always hear about old people living you know that are angry they 0.99
00:08:52.600 live forever just like this bitter asshole won't die because anger man it just keeps you youthful 0.99
00:08:57.360 for some reason everybody's scared of pit bulls but i think like the majority of dog attacks are 1.00
00:09:02.340 from chowalas you could lose a finger fingernail easy my uh my little girl dog has no teeth and 1.00
00:09:08.080 she still scares the other one she's gumming people scare yeah but it's the attitude it's
00:09:13.120 the attitude like you feel like you try to pet her she's fram are you based in los angeles you
00:09:17.960 are uh yeah long beach okay okay and you grew up in los angeles i grew up in los angeles i was born
00:09:21.980 in san diego grew up in long beach and i've been there ever since and it's funny i have friends
00:09:25.480 that go you know you can afford to leave right i go it's home it's home for me yeah sick i i wanted
00:09:31.120 to ask uh the coyotes in long beach there is you worried about that i'm not worried because my dogs
00:09:36.560 are inside dogs they're not outside okay you know they're very spoiled they they're always on a
00:09:40.820 couch they're always on a little doggy bed they go outside i'm watching them they're done and they
00:09:45.580 let me know they don't want to hang out outside you you know the drill see i didn't and i had a
00:09:51.200 little dog too oh coyote hopped the fence snatched him up seen him on seen him on uh what's that
00:09:57.580 what's that app citizen that that app that alerts you of crime i see i seen a post on citizen
00:10:02.420 the next morning uh small golden dog head found in my yard gone treated treated his yard like a
00:10:09.220 drive-thru two miles away from i'm sorry that's that's how that's a rough one it wasn't an inside
00:10:13.760 dog it was it was shitty we saw it on camera hid in a tree for months trying to get revenge
00:10:21.040 like i'm not kidding hold on hold on hold on we can't talk about this we can i just am saving
00:10:25.440 this story for joe rogan podcast for what for joe rogan's podcast saving that story for the end
00:10:29.920 when i go at this point when i go on i have like i have like five stories i've never told my mind
00:10:34.160 i'm saving for joe rogan i got it i got it i want to hear this off off uh you know i'll tell you
00:10:38.560 but uh i do think it's sick that you are born and raised la area california whatever you want to
00:10:44.780 call it and you did sell out the dodger stadium twice and and you're the first comedian to ever
00:10:50.980 do that doing a show like that at home uh definitely the biggest thing i've ever done
00:10:55.420 at home that's that means everything yeah it was very cool like oh my god i can't imagine like if i
00:11:00.720 i was going there as a kid to watch games so that's like to go there now and it's like it was
00:11:04.880 surreal yeah you surreal you you've definitely made your family proud you're you're everyone
00:11:10.340 around you proud and i know you've had a lot of ups and downs too and i don't want to start on a
00:11:13.860 on a super downer note,
00:11:14.940 but I find,
00:11:16.120 uh,
00:11:16.780 I was a virgin.
00:11:17.460 So I told you I wasn't.
00:11:20.040 He started on a downer note until he was 20.
00:11:24.660 You punked them out about dogs and then called them a virgin.
00:11:27.340 I think he's good to start out wherever you want.
00:11:30.120 It's pretty much,
00:11:31.040 uh,
00:11:31.280 you know,
00:11:31.560 it's up from there.
00:11:33.140 You've,
00:11:33.580 uh,
00:11:33.940 no,
00:11:34.160 you've had,
00:11:34.520 you've had,
00:11:34.900 you've had a lot of ups and some downs that are inevitable with it.
00:11:39.400 And I think our audience,
00:11:40.700 um,
00:11:41.560 can appreciate an authentic story.
00:11:43.860 And especially an authentic story of of redemption of self.
00:11:47.440 And I know you had that a little bit.
00:11:49.060 I think we need a lot of both.
00:11:50.820 We need ups.
00:11:51.360 We need downs.
00:11:52.580 Downs help to create character.
00:11:54.400 And, you know, it's one of those things where if everything's just always going good, then how are you really going to appreciate?
00:11:58.720 How are you going to understand?
00:11:59.580 How are you going to value something if you don't know how hard it was to get there?
00:12:02.780 Bingo.
00:12:03.180 So, you know, I appreciate it.
00:12:04.760 I am very grateful that my downs were not my final moment.
00:12:08.760 I was able to come back from things, whether it was health or whether it was relationships or whether it was just career going in weird circles and places and to be where I'm at now.
00:12:17.480 I'm very grateful, but I know how hard it was to get here and I appreciate the hell out of it.
00:12:21.460 For sure. I know me and Mike relate on this a lot, but we we really get along best with people who have been through shit, you know, trauma, tragedy, survived, overcome and adapt.
00:12:34.760 And what I'm referencing. People who got their shit together are no fun. 0.99
00:12:37.420 it's been great it's been great good for you got all your teeth and everything 0.99
00:12:43.020 but i for those of you who don't know um the the the thing i'm referring to is in in 2017 you had
00:12:51.000 a little bit of a a mental breakdown where you realized yeah time for yourself and the mental
00:12:56.200 breakdown was basically me going through my first real breakup in my 40s i had never had heartache
00:13:01.400 before like that it was it was my relationship that that came to an end when i was on the road
00:13:05.340 And so, yeah, it's like, how am I supposed to be a functional entertainer when I can't keep my personal life together?
00:13:11.500 And so it was one of those things that, you know, doing a lot of drinking, a lot of just, you know, the road.
00:13:15.620 And, you know, unfortunately, it took its toll.
00:13:18.960 Would you say you were an alcoholic?
00:13:21.140 No, no.
00:13:21.940 Alcoholic is daily.
00:13:23.120 Alcoholic, because I asked.
00:13:24.380 I asked the question.
00:13:26.720 Based on research.
00:13:27.880 No, it's one of those things where.
00:13:29.440 Were you every other day?
00:13:30.780 No, I was on the weekends.
00:13:31.800 Well, there's different levels.
00:13:33.400 There's different levels of, like, alcoholism.
00:13:35.340 There's like a hardcore, physically dependent alcoholic that wakes up in the morning.
00:13:39.920 They have tremors.
00:13:41.000 They need to drink just to satisfy this physical dependency.
00:13:44.020 But then there's also lower levels of alcohol dependency that are binge drinking and that kind of thing,
00:13:49.040 which technically classify as some level of alcohol dependence.
00:13:52.600 I asked.
00:13:53.300 They still get away from an emotion.
00:13:55.240 Okay, then yes.
00:13:56.540 No, no, I was asking.
00:13:57.700 Oh, yeah, no, that was me.
00:13:59.220 Yeah, I was trying not to deal, you know, but I was doing it more so on the weekends.
00:14:03.760 Not really so much.
00:14:04.460 I wouldn't wake up
00:14:05.440 And like I need a drink
00:14:06.220 Or you know
00:14:06.940 Monday Tuesday
00:14:07.540 Have a drink
00:14:08.260 It was more so
00:14:09.040 On the weekends
00:14:09.500 Was it ever affecting
00:14:10.320 Your work
00:14:10.940 That's the crazy part
00:14:12.540 Is that
00:14:12.940 No because
00:14:14.380 On stage
00:14:14.980 I wasn't drinking
00:14:15.660 It was after
00:14:16.740 Oh so the problem
00:14:18.260 Was only when
00:14:18.980 You were drinking
00:14:19.500 Were you just
00:14:20.160 Smacking your chihuahuas 0.97
00:14:21.160 Oh my god 1.00
00:14:22.220 Get over here Vinny 1.00
00:14:24.920 You little shit 1.00
00:14:26.460 Your name's laughter 1.00
00:14:27.360 But you won't be
00:14:28.020 Laughing for now
00:14:28.780 Did you just 0.54
00:14:29.920 Finger my dog 1.00
00:14:30.640 Yeah what the fuck 1.00
00:14:32.060 Fucked him 1.00
00:14:33.760 they're also they're also long beach it was like you're not gonna push these motherfuckers around 0.99
00:14:38.300 it's a five six two dog yeah you don't know lbc man no it wasn't it wasn't that bad and if you 0.90
00:14:45.380 don't mind me asking how did you how did you overcome it like what was that one thing in 0.98
00:14:48.820 your brain that you were like all right fuck it this is what i have to do to get it done because 0.98
00:14:52.580 i always forget to ask this important question and right now there's somebody in your position 1.00
00:14:57.260 exactly in your position like literally you but like somebody's going through what you're going
00:15:02.640 through and like what is that one thing that you had to think about or do to get you out of that
00:15:07.500 rut um I knew that if uh you know the fact that I was going through this breakup I didn't want to
00:15:13.000 depend on alcohol in order to numb it or to avoid it or I needed a deal I needed a deal and I needed
00:15:18.980 to make sure that I had a clear head and so that kept me I didn't I didn't drink for at least two
00:15:22.880 years it was two years and I actually I wrote it down it was two years in like three days because
00:15:27.240 I made sure that I hit the two-year mark but I wanted to make sure that I dealt with all my
00:15:30.820 bullshit sober and i didn't and i didn't want to make a bigger mess because you know sometimes you
00:15:34.780 drink you'll send a text you can't come back from you make a phone call you use regret and i wanted 0.97
00:15:39.000 to make sure you know it hurt but i dealt with everything on with a clear head what was that
00:15:43.760 dealing like like what did your it's odd dude yeah but what was the process like you you know
00:15:49.180 you spend two years sober are you in therapy are you are you i did i did do some therapy i didn't
00:15:54.020 want to do it at first because you know it's one of those things where you know mexicans man we're
00:15:58.260 we're you know we don't we don't do therapy we will get drunk and cry and sing songs and vent to
00:16:03.440 an uncle and that means you're good and you get the blessing and so it's one of those it's it's
00:16:09.280 hard to say you need help it's hard to admit that you have a problem that that you can't fix on your
00:16:14.900 own and so um originally the idea was to try to do couples therapy and that unfortunately was not
00:16:20.560 working but the idea of talking to someone who allowed you to question yourself and find out
00:16:25.960 about yourself because that's one of those things no one ever asks themselves what is it i need what
00:16:30.200 is my problem what is my issue what do i got to do what brings me joy what makes me feel good
00:16:34.180 and going to therapy is one of those things that helped you do that you know and so i did that for
00:16:38.940 a couple years and i made sure that i kept myself you know focused and didn't drink and i think it
00:16:43.620 was very beneficial because therapy teaches you to listen which is a hard thing to do when you're
00:16:48.920 in the business of talking interesting the americans been coming out of me a lot yeah america
00:16:53.660 I've been watching NASCAR on Sundays.
00:16:55.400 I'll admit, I can't get rid of the fast cars.
00:16:57.960 They got a place in my heart.
00:16:59.560 I see the clips when one of them crashes
00:17:01.240 and the other driver goes up and starts punching through the window.
00:17:04.480 It's fueled. It's fiery, dude.
00:17:06.340 We got a sponsor, guys. It is NASCAR.
00:17:07.920 We do love NASCAR, and it might be the end of the season,
00:17:09.660 but the intensity just started.

00:17:39.800 with NASCAR in Miami this weekend at 2.30 p.m. ET on NBC.
00:17:46.400 Bow!
00:17:47.200 Thank you.
00:17:48.020 Back to the program.
00:17:49.700 Usually when you're a comedian,
00:17:50.780 and you're obviously dealing with some type of trauma.
00:17:52.660 That's what you use comedy to get away from it.
00:17:54.880 But you never really want to take care of yourself.
00:17:57.180 That's why you meet comedians.
00:17:58.260 I didn't know how weird comedians were
00:18:00.040 until I met them backstage.
00:18:01.320 He's touching me.
00:18:02.940 I'm on the one.
00:18:04.200 I'm so angry.
00:18:05.580 Percy fingered your dog. 0.96
00:18:07.140 Fingered my dog and he's touching me. 0.74
00:18:08.820 April. 0.80
00:18:10.560 I'm so sorry.
00:18:11.380 I just got so excited that you're next to me.
00:18:13.020 No, for sure.
00:18:13.800 You got you too, actually, our artists.
00:18:16.120 You're artists.
00:18:16.760 And your outlet is that of comedy.
00:18:19.740 I commend you.
00:18:20.780 And I admire you for hitting the nail on the head and attacking the problem sober.
00:18:25.880 I wasn't strong enough to do that.
00:18:27.420 You know, I know how tough heartbreak can be.
00:18:30.420 And I had one in particular where I drank my way through the whole thing.
00:18:34.900 It's 30 days of trying to ignore reality.
00:18:39.660 I needed to not be present.
00:18:42.040 Right?
00:18:42.240 That was my worst nightmare.
00:18:43.120 So you're much tougher than me.
00:18:44.780 Also much older.
00:18:45.580 And with it comes wisdom.
00:18:47.900 I don't know how old you are.
00:18:48.640 There was a time, you know.
00:18:50.780 No, but I think that might have been the benefit of going through the breakup at that age
00:18:55.520 because people can engage in highly self-destructive behavior when they have that heartache
00:19:01.240 and they're young and they don't know where to go or how to handle it.
00:19:04.500 But I wanted to ask you, because you mentioned therapy and you also mentioned your upbringing.
00:19:08.520 You know, your uncle was saying, what?
00:19:10.340 Oh, it was just Spanish gibberish. 1.00
00:19:12.280 You know, that's usually what happens. 0.96
00:19:13.280 You get drunk, you get emotional.
00:19:15.080 Someone looks at you, that's the end way, which means you're fine, dude, in a weird way.
00:19:20.300 So I find this interesting because 2022, we are in a time where people, I think, I'd be optimistic to think that are becoming more open and honest, especially with themselves.
00:19:34.760 Right. Like, like, man, 50 years ago, talk about depression.
00:19:39.160 Taboo. Slap back on the head, slap on the back of the head, like, you know, suck it up. Right. 0.90
00:19:42.480 And now I think people are more willing to have that conversation about going to therapy, about speaking to someone, a friend, a relative, whatever it is.
00:19:50.300 i grew up with the kind of suck it up and get over and and because of that i became hardened
00:19:57.360 you've seen both sides which in your idea creates a better self i think it's a mixture of the two
00:20:06.760 because there's some people who can handle suck it up and and there's something in them that
00:20:11.500 all right you know it's a sink or swim type of thing and and you know some people are built
00:20:16.120 differently some people can handle it some people it's all right then i gotta do what i gotta do
00:20:20.280 but there's there's part of them that still wants someone to listen someone they still wish they had
00:20:25.080 that outlet and so i think finding that balance you know is very important that's the word right
00:20:29.880 there balance i've been talking about it endlessly lately and it seems like you know your like work
00:20:34.920 life balance was probably skewed in a direction that was unhealthy because you were tore and you
00:20:39.140 weren't you were drinking you weren't focused on yourself i was go go go exactly as a lot of us are
00:20:44.200 but i think another big thing too is like your mental health and and and your happiness is not
00:20:49.980 a one uh one size fits all solution there's no you know answer like people ask me all the time
00:20:55.740 like how did you you know get off drugs how did you get your mental health back in check whatever
00:20:59.080 it's like dude i can't give you that answer there's a reason why people say life is a journey
00:21:03.640 it's a journey dude we are all as i look around this room there's 20 people in here every single
00:21:07.680 person in this room is trying their best to figure it out no one has it figured out you know and and
00:21:12.440 as someone who's struggling, you know, on the daily or like a lot of people watching the show
00:21:16.600 are, that's not the kind of thing that you want to hear. You want an answer. You want somebody to
00:21:20.160 be like, yo, do X, Y, and Z. And you're going to arrive at the finish line that you've always been
00:21:24.440 dreaming of. But you know that that wasn't the case. So through those two years of work,
00:21:29.620 was there any sort of applicable realization that you had that you garnered that you took away that
00:21:34.820 you said, okay, I can apply this and become a happier person? It was a day-to-day thing. Like
00:21:38.740 you're saying it's it's not just one like okay here's the plan and that's it no every single day
00:21:43.940 was part of that success every single day was part of that struggle part of that fight but you know
00:21:48.400 you you got the ups the downs and at the end of the night when you put your head on the pillow
00:21:51.640 how did it go today did we drink did we make a mess how do we feel about ourselves it's all day
00:21:56.480 to day and so when people say all right so what's the plan you take it day by day i know it sounds
00:22:01.020 cliche and they always people say that oh it's day by day but that's literally what it is i grew up
00:22:05.360 With the saying of today has its own troubles.
00:22:07.900 Yeah.
00:22:08.120 Worry about them.
00:22:09.140 That's how I used to grow up.
00:22:10.460 But to take it back about which is better, if you scale it back, I like to reflect not just on myself.
00:22:16.400 I like to watch how people act so I can learn from them as well.
00:22:19.780 The people that are like brush it off, get it, shut it down, bottle it, you'll notice they have troubles when they need emotion.
00:22:27.000 When they need that intimate relationship, when they have that son or girlfriend relationship because they don't want to open up because they were trained, no, don't do that.
00:22:35.360 So when they're bothered, they're like, bottle it down.
00:22:37.200 But bottling up ends up being resentment.
00:22:39.500 Resentment becomes anger. 1.00
00:22:40.800 And anger is like, yo, fuck this. 1.00
00:22:41.800 I don't want to be here anymore. 0.99
00:22:42.800 But then you see the guy that's too much on the opposite.
00:22:45.160 My feelings, my feelings, my feelings. 1.00
00:22:47.120 Now they're just fucking pussies. 1.00
00:22:49.460 So it's a grand skill. 1.00
00:22:51.080 You really have to fucking be disciplined. 0.99
00:22:53.780 And the one key thing is, what is wrong with you? 0.99
00:22:56.200 Like, you have to.
00:22:57.040 I didn't grow up with a therapist.
00:22:58.640 I thought it would be weird. 1.00
00:23:00.100 I thought if you had a therapist, you're a fucking lunatic. 1.00
00:23:02.580 That's how I grew up. 1.00
00:23:03.580 I was like, tell that to Tony Soprano.
00:23:04.740 I would even, like, if you told me you had a therapist,
00:23:07.080 I'd genuinely be like, what's wrong with you?
00:23:10.080 Like, what happened?
00:23:11.260 Distance.
00:23:11.860 Well, that's kind of what I'm saying.
00:23:13.160 The stigma is disappearing from having a therapist.
00:23:15.600 Like, having a therapist now is commendable and cool.
00:23:19.800 It's getting closer, for sure.
00:23:21.920 Especially for men, and to his point, 0.52
00:23:24.660 probably certain cultures, Mexican men, 0.72
00:23:26.960 it seems like especially you guys have a...
00:23:29.240 It was very much taboo, man.
00:23:30.800 Like I said, if you wanted to get in touch with your feelings,
00:23:32.720 it was always drinking.
00:23:33.720 there's music playing you're around family you know and it's just it was very much a you know
00:23:38.280 that's a it was a cultural thing so to to admit that you're you know you you having problems that
00:23:43.200 you can't handle on your own that's that's huge are you over are you over it now the relationship
00:23:47.940 oh yeah yeah i'm good i'm at peace now i'm all right no the reason i'm it's not over
00:23:53.620 the reason i'm asking you is um bring it bring her out no no we brought her here today we're
00:24:03.220 gonna rebuild we're gonna yeah we're gonna test him we're gonna test him you single now yes you 0.89
00:24:07.260 fucking am i no he's so according to you and my dogs that's what i'm just kidding don't answer 0.94
00:24:14.380 and that by the way let me let me just say dating and it is you know you always hear people say oh 0.98
00:24:20.660 that dating is so hard it's very challenging like how do you everybody's crazy what's going on out
00:24:24.640 there and like in my position i just don't trust anybody i always feel like someone is up to
00:24:29.200 something there they you know there's an agenda there's you know there it's a money thing or a
00:24:33.380 uh can you help my situation with you know can you expose like oh help me with my gofundme or
00:24:38.500 help me with this it's all about what can i get yeah and it's like it's depressing i'm like i'd
00:24:43.580 rather just stay home and watch movies with my dogs it is lonely at the top brother that's what
00:24:48.060 they say i just had this like vision of you like going out to a bar in like tempe and you like
00:24:52.620 bring a girl home you have sex and she's just like you know my dog has leukemia by the way like
00:24:57.580 here's the link can you post that you're like does that happen it happens a lot not the sex part 0.99
00:25:01.840 not the sex part you at least you at least gave me something no but i every single day i get
00:25:08.420 someone that asked me to pay for something yeah for sure and yeah there is no like if i do this
00:25:12.480 can you do that no it's straight you know can you help me pay for uh situations with family with
00:25:17.020 pets uh i've been asked to pay for multiple funerals i've been can you help me get a car
00:25:21.580 can you help put me through school and i'm like you know that takes up first of all that's a lot
00:25:26.060 of balls to ask somebody for this and yes they mean it you know it's not one of those like oh
00:25:30.640 they're just kidding no no they mean it you gotta say they send they send links in the beginning 0.93
00:25:35.780 you know here's the problem is that you know i hear a story and you're like oh you you you have
00:25:41.860 a connection to whatever the situation is because you've experienced something like that and you're
00:25:45.720 like oh i know where that's coming from because you know like for me i've seen people that have
00:25:49.460 issues with dogs and they know i have dogs so that's my weak spot so then they're like you know
00:25:52.700 look at what scruffy scruffy's going through situation he's only got one dog bed can you have 0.98
00:25:57.320 you know i'm like ah fucking petco card here you go uh he got he got a slew of them in his pocket 1.00
00:26:02.240 20 bucks what the fuck bro you sold out dodger's oh i get a lot of people that guilt me i get a 0.99
00:26:08.380 lot of people that guilt me for sure i call them family uh they're awesome uh one of the hardest 1.00
00:26:14.760 things to do is to say no because you got to be prepared for the reaction and sometimes people
00:26:21.500 or cool about it hey man i i can't right now no no i understand it's okay but then you get the
00:26:26.060 others that will hit you with the the guilt trips or the oh all right i see i see how it is i see
00:26:31.280 how it is okay all right i won't forget that and you get the fingers like what you're like really
00:26:36.300 you know yeah it's annoying it it's it's uh it's frustrating because you want to help everyone and
00:26:42.160 and no one ever wants to not be the uh the the night like for me i i hate disappointing people
00:26:47.700 And I don't ever want to be a disappointment, but I feel taken advantage of a lot.
00:26:51.400 And it's just like, dude, you know, it's hard saying no.
00:26:55.040 It's it's hard. But at the same time, there's a certain level of like, wow.
00:26:59.400 OK, that was hard thing. Power. It is. It's powerful to say no.
00:27:02.920 You talk about this in your stand up when you talk about your driver and how he works through Christmases.
00:27:08.320 Dave. Yeah. Yeah. Dave. And you talked about how you trust him.
00:27:13.340 And so you're using your problems in life and you're making more money off of it.
00:27:17.700 man. Those are good jokes. So you're taking it and you're making a profit out of it.
00:27:21.840 You know? Yeah. Cause it's like, uh, for those that don't know, Dave, my, my bus driver, he's
00:27:25.880 a, he's a friend more than anything now, uh, been working together for over 10 years. And matter
00:27:31.780 of fact, I saw him a couple of days ago, just a super honest, hardworking dude. This guy's been
00:27:36.080 driving buses for, I want to say almost 40 years and he's never taken a vacation. He's never taken
00:27:43.120 a vacation. And so when the opportunity came to go to Europe for a couple of weeks, I said, Dave,
00:27:47.320 go with us man no way you know and so we had to fight and drag him take him with us over there
00:27:51.520 and he had one of the best times of his life and he's like dude man i've been missing the boat i
00:27:55.940 haven't been living i'm like yeah man it's cool i go so do you still think america is the greatest
00:28:00.000 country in the world and he said yes but it took him about a minute to say yes because he really
00:28:05.240 had to think about it whereas before he's like america you know yeah i haven't left dude you

00:29:46.860 speaking of dave and his uh inability to take some time for himself i know you've had some
00:29:52.580 trouble with this as well i don't take vacations why not take vacations because what is a vacation
00:29:57.760 what is a vacation you uh plan a trip maybe right yeah okay you get on a plane you get on a shuttle
00:30:03.580 bus you go to a hotel you're in a pool you're you're you know go to eat that's every single
00:30:09.260 week for me i'm always on the road i live on a plane i live on a bus i live at a hotel every
00:30:14.440 single week that's what i do the funnest thing i've you know for me is getting up on stage so
00:30:19.220 i'm going to take the one thing away that brings me joy every single week and just do the work
00:30:23.240 because traveling is work yeah waking up early go catch that flight you know make sure you get on
00:30:28.880 that bus pack those bags get everything together you know go go go go go and then i've got dogs
00:30:33.440 with me so it's like it's work i mean you're doing what you love i love what i do and so i'll find
00:30:38.180 ways to enjoy my trip so like in Europe I took time to go see certain things when I was in Spain
00:30:43.420 I made it a point let me go around town enjoy take a look around but there always has to be
00:30:47.940 work attached to it and it's I can't separate the two vacation for me is being home for a couple
00:30:52.980 weeks sleeping in my own bed driving my own car and not having to worry about what time I got to
00:30:57.380 wake up that makes sense we can relate you're preaching to the choir yeah for sure well I'm on
00:31:01.400 the road 200 days a year he's probably close I mean but but it always wearing sandals is such a
00:31:07.220 like it's the socks
00:31:08.620 it's the socks for me
00:31:09.700 no for me
00:31:10.360 like that's high chill
00:31:11.380 I just
00:31:11.680 I'm Brian
00:31:12.640 I just got back
00:31:14.200 gold tips
00:31:14.480 yo send me
00:31:15.180 gold tips

00:31:18.200 those are like
00:31:19.620 my pops wore though
00:31:20.660 those are the best
00:31:22.620 but I don't have
00:31:24.120 jewelry
00:31:24.420 I have gold tips
00:31:25.260 I have gold tips
00:31:26.260 you know you can't
00:31:26.920 wear jewelry in LA
00:31:27.660 right now
00:31:28.020 yeah no I'm not
00:31:28.640 even trying to be that
00:31:29.320 because I still live
00:31:30.340 in Long Beach
00:31:30.780 I live two minutes
00:31:31.920 away from Orozco's 0.99
00:31:32.800 so yeah I'm not
00:31:33.480 I'm not playing 1.00
00:31:33.960 fuck that 1.00
00:31:34.580 I got you 1.00
00:31:36.220 oh shoot
00:31:37.220 yeah my mom got me this oh my girl or something i got i got one of those that's like a first
00:31:42.480 communion chain right there that's to go no no wait wait i got it i got it i got a path
00:31:49.320 because i'm curious about this um i i know well i assume because it was on the pdf given to be
00:31:55.480 by my producer dylan so if it's wrong let's all attack him okay uh he's gone during your
00:32:02.320 emotional rebuild did you have a time where you wished you would have spent more time with your
00:32:09.700 children because you oh you're on the road so much right and and i and i read that you had a
00:32:17.020 moment where you you realized you were missing some important moments right there's always going
00:32:22.040 to be that regret factor and you start thinking oh woulda shoulda coulda i could have done this
00:32:27.900 better i could have handled this better i could have done that i should have done that but you 0.98
00:32:32.000 know at that time it's easy to say that after the fact but when you're in the shit when you're and 0.96
00:32:35.640 when things are going on and you're you're part of a machine that just every single week that's 0.96
00:32:40.200 why i don't take breaks this thing is a machine i'm on the road four days a week you know the
00:32:44.620 amount of of work time energy and then you know once money starts flowing people say oh money
00:32:51.720 you know does money change you it changes things around you and once you see that there's something
00:32:57.100 that's working, you become scared to let that go because you found something that works and you're
00:33:03.320 seeing like things just happening around you. And so that does become a fear. And yes, I did start
00:33:12.220 thinking, you know what? I should have spent more time. I could have done this better. I could have
00:33:15.920 handled that better. But at the time, I thought I was doing the best thing for the family, being a
00:33:21.720 hardworking person, making sure that my son never had to, you know, issues with struggling or having
00:33:26.480 to worry about things, making sure the lights never got shut off. The water never got shut off.
00:33:31.380 We always had a roof over our head. We never had a car that was busted. Everything was going great
00:33:36.640 as long as I continued to do what I was doing. But after the fact, yeah, you will. You will sit
00:33:41.580 back and go, yeah, I could have done this. I could have done that. One thing I made sure that I didn't
00:33:45.380 miss was I told my son, if you're going to graduate, I will be there. I will make sure that I cut that
00:33:50.700 time out. I will be there for your graduation. And it's one of those things where it's like,
00:33:54.780 all right he did graduate uh get the fuck out of the house i'm glad he did no he's still there 0.90
00:33:59.220 he's still there but you did you did have a moment with him right where you approached him 0.92
00:34:03.180 we've had a few moments and i think it's one of those like anything else it's not just one thing
00:34:08.540 it's a series of events a series of spending time and conversations and uh just having those
00:34:13.920 awesome little key moments that that make things stronger and better and like this morning before
00:34:19.160 i left you know uh he just came over to the car and gave me a big old hug and i'm like well that
00:34:23.420 was okay well he knew you were coming here no no i told him after it was funny he told me to tell
00:34:28.220 me i said hi so uh but he didn't know i was coming oh cool he didn't know and so i thought 0.99
00:34:33.920 that was really sweet now he's gonna be mad at you he's like dude what the fuck you didn't bring 0.94
00:34:37.160 me there's no coincidence coincidences in this business you are as successful as you are 0.99
00:34:45.220 because of an occasional missed easter because of yo sacrifice this career is my fucking 0.98
00:34:53.120 life and you kids are always going to eat as a result of it but there will be times when i'm not 0.96
00:34:58.180 going to be at every single event because i'm providing for you and i wanted to ask everyone
00:35:03.700 you know in sitting here this question what happens to a machine when you don't use it for a
00:35:08.800 while i think we know it starts to rust it starts to slow down it starts to lose its lubricate it
00:35:15.880 starts to run a little slower and as the great logan paul has always said this career this life
00:35:21.960 is all about something called momentum and so those two-week journeys those three-week journeys
00:35:26.940 those breaks this the break here the break there all career professionals know what that could end
00:35:33.660 up equaling and this is something i'm personally struggling with on a major scale right now i hit
00:35:38.500 him up yesterday and said this to him like bro i'm i'm i'm there three years deep not a week missed
00:35:43.760 i know what it feels like but you know that you have to balance in some way the need to continue
00:35:51.780 pushing for your career and and handling that other stuff do you think that you found a balance now
00:35:56.460 i think i'm a lot closer to that balance whereas before it was 100 sacrifice i knew from the get
00:36:02.780 that if i wanted to be where i'm at now it was going to mean that i had to give up and willing
00:36:07.480 to give up certain uh you know luxuries being comfortable first of all being comfortable is
00:36:12.800 actually a luxury so once you find something that works for you and you feel very like you know
00:36:16.840 whether it's being at home or you got a job i had a really good job before i got into comedy
00:36:20.460 that was paying me very well.
00:36:22.960 I was selling cell phones back in the day.
00:36:25.300 Okay, this is before the iPhone or Samsung.
00:36:27.440 I was selling a Motorola PC 550 flip phone
00:36:29.500 and I was working on commission.
00:36:31.220 And I was actually inside of a Walmart.
00:36:35.880 I was at a kiosk in a Walmart.
00:36:37.680 You're laughing, dude.
00:36:38.380 But at the time, 1997,
00:36:40.560 I was making about 5K a month in commission,
00:36:43.380 which think about it.
00:36:44.300 For a 20-year-old making $5,000 a month,
00:36:47.200 And my rent was, half of my rent was $350,000 because I had a roommate.
00:36:51.880 And, dude, I was balling, balling, balling.
00:36:54.580 $5,000 today is great.
00:36:56.640 Yeah, sure.
00:36:58.740 All right, so what made you do that?
00:37:00.120 What made you go like, hey, all this money.
00:37:02.280 You have the success trait.
00:37:03.840 Even just sitting with you now, like the hustle, the grind, 1.00
00:37:06.220 you're doing shit and you're good at it. 0.99
00:37:08.920 I feel like you're one of those guys where whatever you do, 1.00
00:37:11.040 you're going to figure it out.
00:37:12.000 You're going to do it.
00:37:12.480 You're going to make it work.
00:37:13.100 You know, the job that I had, my mom got upset with me when I quit that job
00:37:17.100 to pursue comedy because i was getting benefits i had the first time i had insurance and i didn't
00:37:21.580 just have the regular insurance i had insurance you know i had a medical dental i was making all
00:37:26.360 kinds of money i had a brand new car i was paying for cable that's that's a flex i could have told
00:37:31.280 like my neighbor my neighbor was like hey bro i hook it up i go no no it's okay i got it no de
00:37:35.320 veras i got you no no no it's all right how many channels movie movie channels it was back in the
00:37:40.240 day so you got to figure it was a um god i'm trying to remember the name of the company at
00:37:43.760 the time it's a long time ago but i had yeah i had my hbo i had the cinemax i had showtime
00:37:47.940 you had cinemax you watched cinemax after and so you know and i'd order my wrestle manias every
00:37:51.460 year like all right or or i'd watch it with the when it's all scrambled remember it used to be
00:37:55.160 all scrambled yeah i don't know how old you guys are that's even scrambled or uh you'd watch the
00:37:59.000 freaking dirty channel same thing spice it was called spice jam spice yeah spice 116 back of 0.99
00:38:03.060 the day y'all remember you remember that shit you would you what the hell do you guys listen 0.99
00:38:07.100 this is uh what do you mean it's scramble this one screen this is the red tube of its time this 0.99
00:38:12.180 was the the porn hub of its day uh basically you you watch the tv and it's all scrambled the audio
00:38:17.860 was crystal clear so if you just close your eyes yeah you you had a good imagination oh my god
00:38:22.780 you're telling me you watched porn that had lag no no no not him george no no no no no george 0.81
00:38:27.660 you're not you need to be understand this correctly it wasn't a lag you would occasionally see a boob
00:38:34.220 yeah you're basically looking into a misty swamp a murky swamp like that goes like this it was like
00:38:39.720 this and then every now and then it would clear up and it's like yes yes you would see some 0.69
00:38:43.660 fucking bro and that would be the moment you would usually be able to push it over so question for 0.95
00:38:48.580 you because there's a lot of people this is so funny bro these are the people that i talk to on 0.99
00:38:52.620 this show specifically because it's like the 30 plus group that remembers this channel when i this
00:38:57.480 was the first thing i ever jerked off to and i'm convinced dude that this channel channel 116 in
00:39:04.360 connecticut the spice channel produced a high-pitched audio frequency that would wake my
00:39:10.280 mom up when i was joking i swear to you bro mom mom she watches every show i may have asked you
00:39:16.620 about this before but you need to tell me because dude i would be dead silent i would get a little
00:39:21.000 pillow hump going i'll get 116 a little tip would show up maybe a thumb in the mouth you got out
00:39:26.120 breathing bro but i was so quiet and for some reason my mom was right above me i would always
00:39:31.620 here the foot hit the floor and she would go to the bathroom and now it's like dude that's the
00:39:37.460 last thing you want to hear when you're you're whacking off is your is your mom beautiful mom
00:39:41.660 upstairs walking across the floor pooping on the floor on the floor say what's wrong with you guys 0.99
00:39:47.200 yeah robin's been on the no porn train for a while oh my god well no porn michael i i haven't
00:39:53.220 watched porn a long time but my porn struggles are very different my porn struggles were bad
00:39:57.440 internet connections so you'd be ready to go about to finish off strong and it freezes on the
00:40:03.100 dude's nutsack do you ever get that does anybody understand what i'm talking about you'd be like
00:40:07.880 oh no oh zoom in this is the angle the camera it just lags right this is and then you have to grab
00:40:15.560 your tip because you're not finishing on that segment well you also have a higher chance of
00:40:20.180 seeing it and on a dude's nutsack because you have two dudes in the scenes you watch yes so it's a 0.99
00:40:24.760 it's a little a little higher i get fucked george with your shit joke there's one comedian in this 0.99
00:40:30.680 set let him be a comedian all right i'm sorry i don't know i literally said i want to be a comedian 1.00
00:40:35.580 and he said just keep eating comedian because the all right oh mexico oh yeah please i gotta 0.82
00:40:44.360 ask you viva mexico for all the mexican viewers out there watching this we fucking love you guys 0.73
00:40:48.300 i love your culture so much the food the music the mexico in general the geography the place 0.72
00:40:53.900 i gotta ask this what was it like and what does it continue to be like growing up as a mexican
00:40:58.260 in america you know uh man wow that was a very powerful question that's get there yeah i'm hyped 0.99
00:41:05.920 up today moments ago he's talking about jerking off and his mom taking a shit don't remind me 0.99
00:41:11.480 what you did moments ago it's called flipping it man it feels it feels great the fact that i was 0.99
00:41:19.460 able to do the dodger stadium show i know a lot of people were like wow you know like look at this
00:41:23.820 guy man it's one of our own went up there and and was able to do it you know because i i didn't
00:41:28.560 you know i grew up with this you know just my mom you know just my mom we had every issue you
00:41:32.740 could think of we were on section eight welfare of the ebt of its day uh you know and we had a
00:41:38.400 lot of struggles and so it was one of those things where you know to be at that moment and to know
00:41:42.880 everything that went into that and it's like hey look hey you know yeah we can do it beyond just
00:41:50.080 that you've been doing what you do for so long i have such respect for people who can remain
00:41:54.740 relevant and impactful thank you for for decades now right and and you've done it and i think your
00:42:01.140 youtube uh journey has has been really interesting too because you're a traditional comedian and you
00:42:06.740 have a billion views on youtube we don't even have that on this channel man that that is a lot
00:42:12.920 and the early days of the internet when i was coming up and watching youtube i remember you
00:42:18.420 hosted uh a few episodes of equals three yes back in the day with ray william johnson william johnson
00:42:24.320 yep who we had on this podcast i give him a lot of credit ray was the uh he was the king of the
00:42:28.540 internet before you know before anybody really knew what was going on i mean his show got i mean
00:42:33.960 more views than most networks were getting and um you know he gave me the honor of guest hosting
00:42:39.980 his show a couple of times and guest hosting one episode of equals three was greater than doing
00:42:44.420 a tonight show it was better than having a your own sitcom because man the views jumped i i easily
00:42:50.300 gained i want to say close to three million subscribers just by being a guest host on equals
00:42:57.140 three wow which you know i don't think he gets enough credit i don't think he gets enough credit
00:43:02.020 and uh yeah you know it's a lot of subs uh i was i was one of the one that didn't even do that for
00:43:06.940 you yeah i was one of the first um i was one of the first non youtubers that did a show like that
00:43:14.660 like with him he considered me a uh like a like entertainer entertainer like hollywood style where
00:43:19.900 you know after i did it then other people started doing it he got other guests and i remember one
00:43:25.000 time he actually had robin williams on the show and he goes yeah uh robin did the show he saw that
00:43:30.160 other comics did it and and that was like the i was like the guy that like brought everybody else
00:43:34.420 in yeah so it was you know we both helped each other out with that one but i give him a lot of
00:43:38.400 credit ray if you're watching dude thank you hey ray that's so long time no see we love you right
00:43:43.020 did you get a did you get a minute to do you meet robin i actually had an opportunity to meet him
00:43:48.020 one time at the comedy and magic club in hermosa beach uh it's a funny story so the manager of the
00:43:53.600 club richard he he calls me up and he says hey listen man i know you got your show this tuesday
00:43:58.080 um there's somebody that called up and they want to do a guest spot on your show is that okay or
00:44:03.100 your show booked and i go anything for you man yeah i'll do a guest no problem he goes listen
00:44:06.580 here's the thing though this person who's uh the guest they want to go on um after you and i go i
00:44:12.940 go okay well who is it uh i i can't say they they told me not to say because they just want to keep
00:44:18.060 it private i go richard you know it's if it's my show no one goes on if they're whatever name is
00:44:24.820 on the ticket or the marquee that's who goes on last that's just how it goes i go so if i'm gonna
00:44:30.460 say okay i at least need to know who this person is and he goes i cannot tell you and i go richard
00:44:38.040 i'm not i'm not i'm not 12 years old just tell me who it is i'll keep my mouth shut doesn't matter
00:44:42.340 and he goes all you need to know is that if you ever have a secret no now i can keep it i'm like
00:44:50.220 what kind of high school so i said you know what richard okay fine i not you you've piqued my
00:44:56.060 interest okay i'm gonna say yes it better be good so i go uh comedy magic club and uh you know i go
00:45:02.860 up on stage i'm doing my thing and i get handed a note i get handed a note and when i open it it
00:45:09.160 says please bring up robin williams oh my i just got i literally have goosebumps you can you can
00:45:15.920 zoom in on my hand right or my arm that's fucking crazy so and that's robin came out and you know 0.60
00:45:22.100 when i told when i when i told i told the crowd i go i go hey guys uh i need to get off the stage 0.92
00:45:28.120 and the crowd started no boo no no no i go listen you guys uh i'm gonna bring somebody out and as
00:45:33.560 soon as i bring this person out you're you're gonna be like uh fluffy who and they're like no
00:45:39.180 no no i go watch and then i said it ladies and gentlemen please help me welcome to the stage you
00:45:43.840 know and i said it i said his name and the crowd was like the crowd didn't even react because they
00:45:48.480 did not believe of course not they didn't believe he was there it's so red you know and then uh he
00:45:53.300 was standing behind me and i didn't know he was behind me and the crowd couldn't see him because
00:45:57.300 you know shit uh he eclipsed nano nano so i turn and then he's right behind me right and i was like
00:46:05.940 oh my god and he gave me a quick hug and he goes you were funny and i was just like that's all i 0.95
00:46:10.320 needed to hear oh my god and so i went and i watched the show right from the the the curtain
00:46:15.380 i watched him right there like from here to the camera and it was just like yeah as soon as the 0.97
00:46:20.020 crowd saw him they're like yeah fuck fluffy uh we don't we don't care i mean bro like he went on 0.97
00:46:24.840 that's michael that's michael jordan that's that's michael jordan no no that's michael jordan lebron 0.99
00:46:29.140 that's everybody that's robin fucker williams the greatest of all time right what what how long
00:46:33.480 before he passed was months oh my gosh so i met him that one time as soon as uh he got off the
00:46:40.280 stage i was waiting right there but you know by the door and i was like hey oh yeah took a picture
00:46:44.640 with him and his handler whoever was there with him robin we gotta go they wanted to beat the rush
00:46:49.180 of the crowd out so they can get jump in the car and take off uh yeah that was my only moment with
00:46:53.860 him but uh i'll never forget it and there's a picture of it was he one of your comic yes huge
00:46:59.220 it was it was eddie murphy robin williams and there was another buddy somebody so uh i can't
00:47:04.720 yeah uh now you got now you got two uh robin williams and eddie murphy that's it i guess
00:47:10.920 it's funny to have it full circle back to the conversation we had about uh mental health i mean
00:47:17.380 you look at somebody like that who is the epitome of making people happy in life you know somebody
00:47:22.420 that was able to make billions of people the the most world-renowned right actor whether it was
00:47:28.340 comedy or or film and who was who was another man another male person you know comedian struggling
00:47:35.600 with severe mental illness and and unfortunately was unable to get it under control and you know
00:47:40.800 i mean talk about losses for for massive the you know maybe the biggest ever in terms of good
00:47:47.600 comedy you know so that's that's that's wild people still feel it like there's still oh yeah
00:47:52.980 you know more specials coming out about everything and it's just like yeah we're not getting over
00:47:56.880 this one it's it's it's still very sad it's still very sad because if you once again not to to
00:48:02.640 continue to go back to the age thing but if you're in your 30s his movies his stand-up his
00:48:07.820 touch that existed on you as a person as a fan of him was a little bit beyond what we've seen
00:48:15.940 since he he had a way to touch your heart i was gonna say i was gonna say it's um when the when
00:48:20.960 when people like robin williams are alive and there's not many people like robin williams that
00:48:25.860 have the amount of impact that he had you can feel the the fact that this this human is eternal
00:48:32.580 right and so when you lose them it just hits different kobe was another one for me like this
00:48:38.380 this person's eternal and why you know why did life unfold this way i want to i want to i want
00:48:43.460 to pivot because i'm getting sad uh i got bummed out i'm sorry i'm sorry well we also got one in
00:48:50.340 my 400 shows one of the great honestly that was i can't believe that happened that is sick that's
00:48:55.060 amazing good do you pay attention to any up-and-coming comics is there anyone that you have
00:49:00.560 your eyes on that you think is making waves in the scene you know um i used to have my ear to
00:49:06.680 the ground so i mean i was always like in the know of who was going on what was happening
00:49:11.780 and i i feel like man in the last couple of years i've lost touch with everybody who's coming up
00:49:17.620 that's like you know uh new when i say new i mean like someone that's been doing stand-up for for
00:49:22.480 under five years uh as far as comics that are like now that are killing it i mean god tom segura
00:49:28.800 uh krischer uh bill burr definitely i think for many years was like you know he he was right there
00:49:34.320 and it was just like it was taking a minute and i feel finally like he's uh he's he's hit it yeah
00:49:38.820 and um i'm a big fan of comics that do things uh i don't do like i i try not to get political
00:49:45.620 controversial you know i try i try to keep the show very safe and very friendly very fluffy per
00:49:50.080 se uh and people give me shit for that but whatever um is it a dodger show comics you know
00:49:55.940 Is it PG? 0.80
00:49:57.060 You know, I would consider it more PG-13 than anything.
00:50:01.300 But, God, I love Jim Jeffries.
00:50:03.200 Jim Jeffries makes me laugh.
00:50:05.200 You know, again, Tom Kreischer, Bill Burr.
00:50:09.000 And, you know, people are going to say whatever they want.
00:50:11.120 But, you know, Chappelle, I mean, he's a wordsmith.
00:50:14.440 He's the way he crafts his sets.
00:50:16.980 I got actually a chance last, you know, a little while back in a fight.
00:50:20.140 I was at the Canelo fight when Canelo did Triple G Part 3.
00:50:23.740 The last one.
00:50:24.660 the last one so uh i was sitting right next to chapelle and rogan and i had never met
00:50:30.640 chapelle or rogan whoa and so that for me was pretty crazy because i'm already in my seat i
00:50:34.480 got there early because i'm like ain't nobody i've been to these fights i've been in these
00:50:38.140 fights and they'll punk you out of your seat you're like look at this ticket and i can move
00:50:42.600 yeah you end up in the nose bleeds yeah so i'm sitting down right there and sure enough here
00:50:49.620 comes rogan and chapelle and i'm like oh shoot and uh i wasn't sure what was gonna happen because
00:50:54.040 I've never met them we have mutual acquaintances and friends and stuff like that but we've never
00:50:58.140 actually met so when Joe Rogan was coming by he saw me goes Gabe and he gave me a hug oh cool cool
00:51:03.040 hey man what's up and then Chappelle and I'm like and I'm just looking I'm waiting I'm waiting
00:51:06.860 like okay what's he gonna say what's he gonna say does he even know who I am yeah hey man
00:51:10.340 how you doing he pulled me in I'm like oh shit yeah hugged me I'm like yes yeah yeah I felt like
00:51:16.820 all right okay I got the I got the blessing right there and so super nice both of them sat right 0.63
00:51:21.160 there next to me and we're watching the fights and stuff like that and then they got kicked out
00:51:25.260 of their seats they got kicked out of their seats by travis scott and the baby shut down oh yeah we
00:51:30.400 saw him they got the baby still have the mask on it was a ski mask yeah we saw him it was the funniest
00:51:34.260 thing because like the guy that works the floor uh i didn't know no little baby yeah the no but
00:51:39.100 i'm saying that the guy that works the floor as far as getting people in their seats and stuff
00:51:42.040 you know very proper he's a british guy he's like so there's been an unfortunate uh situation that
00:51:47.680 these seats were promised
00:51:50.120 to another party 1.00
00:51:52.020 and Chappelle's like man you motherfuckers 1.00
00:51:54.220 you guys put me here you know and I'm just like 0.99
00:51:56.300 ah and I'm like oh my god they're asking Chappelle to leave
00:51:58.460 before me and I had that little moment where I'm like 0.87
00:52:00.540 well you know it's Mexican
00:52:02.360 independent 1.00
00:52:02.860 I gotta get one up on you
00:52:06.040 he had a mariachi man
00:52:07.400 but then the guy
00:52:09.520 I actually
00:52:11.700 take personal offense to that
00:52:14.040 because you do not move Dave Chappelle
00:52:15.840 No, you don't.
00:52:16.380 How do you do these two people?
00:52:18.780 And no offense for these people.
00:52:20.440 Hold on, hold on.
00:52:21.280 No, no, no.
00:52:22.040 Don't say that either.
00:52:23.020 Hold on.
00:52:23.720 It was, it was,
00:52:24.500 hold on, let me say this.
00:52:25.240 It was explained a little bit off.
00:52:27.140 I know it doesn't mean much to us,
00:52:28.720 but it wasn't duh baby.
00:52:29.880 It was little baby.
00:52:31.140 So it's a little bit.
00:52:32.160 Little baby, duh baby. 0.99
00:52:33.220 I don't care whose fucking baby it is. 1.00
00:52:35.560 It's Joe Rogan 1.00
00:52:36.600 and the greatest stand-up comedian. 1.00
00:52:38.540 Fuck them. 1.00
00:52:39.220 No, if I was there, 1.00
00:52:40.240 I would hit them with this. 0.89
00:52:40.960 Yeah, yeah, yeah. 0.94
00:52:41.340 Go get them.
00:52:41.860 So here's what happened.
00:52:42.540 We're actually trying to have them
00:52:43.280 on the show also.
00:52:44.720 Well, you know, everybody has days where they need to have their seat.
00:52:49.080 They were promised those seats.
00:52:51.120 So a promise is a big deal, though.
00:52:54.060 Was it a pinky promise?
00:52:55.360 That's the thing we got to know about.
00:52:56.340 Who promised it?
00:52:57.500 So here's what happened.
00:52:59.680 This is where therapy will help you.
00:53:04.240 So anyway, the guy who's making the arrangements, first of all, he was freaked out because they told him you need to tell.
00:53:09.400 I could hear the whole conversation.
00:53:10.440 it's like i got chapelle joe rogan and to my left michael j fox i'm like i'm just like are you
00:53:16.300 kidding me right so the guy comes over and he tells chapelle and rogan he's like sir this is
00:53:20.700 unfortunate unfortunate these seats were promised to someone else um we can we can put you ringside
00:53:26.880 next touching the ring and they're and then they were both like why hell man you know
00:53:32.160 let's let's go they got out and they went and they put them right oh that's fine that's cool
00:53:37.020 did dave have a full cup with him i i i i got him a shot i got him a shot at the guys that dude is
00:53:43.220 the best person ever he's fucking hilarious bro we we see him out from time to time and he's he's
00:53:49.100 one of the nicest people i'm so glad you brought up that he drinks because i i i'm a huge fan of
00:53:54.840 comedians before i even met you i was really fucking nervous i i love because i i i look up 0.88
00:53:59.480 to you guys i know what you guys are doing i know how hard it is i saw him as well at a fucking 0.93
00:54:04.740 boxing ring his brother's boxing match and he was coming and i literally i made eye contact he was 0.91
00:54:09.280 gonna sit right here and i literally go i'm not doing it and i literally got up and left because 0.94
00:54:13.660 he was coming in all hot and he was drinking his boys and i'm like i'm gonna fuck up this night 0.98
00:54:17.920 somehow i'm gonna say something you can't with him he is the most easygoing person on the fucking 0.96
00:54:23.240 planet bro he really bro he goes out of our way to tell us like huge fan of your show guys i'm like 0.95
00:54:28.400 well it would be nice if you would sit on the show with us dave he goes i'm sorry by the way
00:54:32.340 Are we butchering his book?
00:54:33.520 No, I can't do it. 0.99
00:54:34.280 I'm not a fucking linguistics expert. 0.98
00:54:36.100 I'm doing the best I fucking can here. 0.98
00:54:37.860 But he goes, I'll do it when I'm ready. 0.90
00:54:39.700 You know, like, which would be all we'd be honored.
00:54:41.380 The fact that he wouldn't even acknowledge that.
00:54:43.680 The nicest person in the world.
00:54:45.380 He was very nice the entire time up until they booted him.
00:54:48.520 And then, of course, they put Travis Scott and which baby?
00:54:51.200 Little baby.
00:54:51.680 Little baby.
00:54:52.360 I want to get my baby right.
00:54:54.700 And, yeah, he was wearing the ski mask.
00:54:56.480 And it's funny because it's like there's somebody with a full-blown ski mask.
00:54:59.860 And he had bling for days.
00:55:02.540 I'm like, it just looked weird to me.
00:55:05.240 Ski masks are in now.
00:55:06.700 The anonymous, Nate, you're anonymous.
00:55:09.460 You're not showing your face, but everyone knows.
00:55:10.780 But everyone knows who you are.
00:55:12.060 Yeah.
00:55:12.440 I don't know.
00:55:13.320 And so I told Travis, I go, you have no idea who just got kicked out for you guys to sit here.
00:55:18.920 Travis was like, I know exactly who the hell got kicked out.
00:55:23.980 Okay.
00:55:24.700 Enjoy the fight, sir.
00:55:27.180 Have a good time.
00:55:28.080 Have a good time.
00:55:28.560 he's a little bit more he's a little bit more reserved than dave for sure but the night that
00:55:33.500 that night that he didn't talk to chappelle was the night that he came back and gave that speech 0.96
00:55:39.440 to jake yeah after the fight yeah and that was gp was like no he's not fucking coming in this 0.98
00:55:46.180 locker room we're like yo gp that's dave chappelle i don't give a fuck who it is this is a closed 0.97
00:55:51.100 facility my dad oh okay i got one of those nice uh suck it up yes yes getting recognition from 0.99
00:56:00.360 your peers is sick especially especially at the highest level right like i i had to imagine that
00:56:05.020 feels awesome um i wanted to pivot a little bit and and and and not to go back on it but i do i do
00:56:11.380 find your uh your dedication and ability to innovate in the space i imagine has been
00:56:21.600 instrumental in your success is there something that you could attribute
00:56:26.220 to your success more than the the rest was it like the syndication of clips on youtube uh was
00:56:34.180 it was it was it the touring was it the comedy central specials which elevated you the most
00:56:41.020 the willingness to give up everything to pursue this dream you know there's there's when i say
00:56:48.140 sacrifice i mean sacrifice there were lots of hours and time uh that you know clearly could
00:56:53.700 have been spent uh with people or doing things having fun i you know there once money started
00:57:01.020 coming in it could have been easy for me to just dick off and be like all right i'm gonna go party
00:57:04.380 i'm gonna go do this or i'm gonna get into that and i didn't i i knew that you know like i i know 0.98
00:57:09.540 what I want and I'm willing to to sacrifice and work my ass off to get it and I think that if
00:57:15.420 you're willing to like I said I try I take no time off you know if I have an opportunity to do work
00:57:21.220 I work and I think most of the time people aren't willing to work you know they say they want it you
00:57:26.680 know that's why I love listening to Kevin Hart when he talks about how you know you if you want
00:57:30.880 something what are you willing to do to get there like Kevin Hart in my opinion is the hardest
00:57:34.420 working comic uh actor whatever you want to call it in show business because i i honestly think he 0.62
00:57:39.720 schedules his shits because i don't know when he's not working he's always doing something he's always 0.97
00:57:44.420 on a commercial he's always on television he's always doing something on the internet he's got 0.99
00:57:48.480 his own slew of shows he's got his own channel he's always making a movie and just when you think
00:57:52.220 the movie's done there's two more coming behind that and i'm like there's got to be 87 kevin
00:57:56.540 hearts yeah yeah you know what i mean because it's like wow and so you know when i talk to him
00:58:01.460 he tells me you know with the conversations about that about sacrifice and what what are you willing
00:58:05.860 to do and how much do you want and this can become uh addicting where it's like because i i don't
00:58:12.400 think kevin can say no i think that so much is riding on kevin where it's it's very hard and
00:58:17.160 and saying no once everything is just happening it's super hard so when do you call it fluffy
00:58:24.680 like i thought about it i thought about retiring right after dodger stadium because i says you
00:58:29.320 know what i don't know if i'll ever be able to do anything as amazing as this in one night this is
00:58:34.020 like are you kidding how do you just go back to you know hey but don't forget tip your weight
00:58:39.280 staff you know all right you know what i mean it's like that would have been the the going out
00:58:45.900 on the highest point possible so like what what do you do now how do you how do you set a goal for
00:58:52.640 yourself because like like literally that's it's not every day someone sees the peak you know what
00:58:58.500 i mean or or knows that they jumped a shark yeah that's an old saying um i forget you're young you
00:59:04.280 just freaking you got the you look old you got that yeah so it's uh you know what are you willing
00:59:10.080 to sacrifice i i know that right now uh i want to see how this special does um based on that i'm
00:59:16.220 gonna see what what i can do because i definitely don't want to just fade if anything i want to go
00:59:22.940 out with the bang with the bang you have to and so uh if if there's something that can be done
00:59:27.920 that's bigger than this that that i can aim for someone said hey man you should make friends with
00:59:32.120 elon musk see if you do comedy in space yeah maybe you could be the first comic to do jokes up there
00:59:36.880 for some minutes someone will do that someone will eventually do it yeah you know and i don't 0.99
00:59:40.680 know if i can pass the physical or not but fuck it i'll die in space you know he went out there 0.99
00:59:44.760 man you just never came they opened the door they let him out he's he's hovering over fluffy 1.00
00:59:49.940 somewhere in the universe you could be the first orbiting comedian there you go so and it sounds
00:59:55.380 like a joke but is it at this point i'm telling you someone will be the first everyone will be
01:00:00.780 the first someone to do something in space which is fascinating um um but but yeah what are you
01:00:07.060 willing what are you willing to sacrifice yeah and i'm i think that's been the biggest thing is
01:00:11.380 is being able to give up certain things to get to the goal just hearing you talk i i think you're
01:00:18.040 gonna have a hard time with retirement you you sound like a workhorse you i love i love being
01:00:23.380 on stage yeah everything in the world and um yes i could you know try to get into other things
01:00:28.140 whether it's uh you know more acting or or uh you know i like doing voiceover i've been i've
01:00:32.900 been doing a lot of that that's been oh yeah oh yeah with movies and stuff like that but it
01:00:36.500 doesn't bring me that same level of joy of being in front of people being in front of a crowd being
01:00:40.080 having that instant feedback knowing that you're connecting and just going back and forth maybe
01:00:44.300 you need a hobby awesome you know i don't i you know uh shoot i collect chihuahuas bro
01:00:49.620 another thing too on the on the uh going out with the bank thing maybe maybe it's not about uh
01:00:59.300 using the metric of a sold-out stadium and that success as the as the apex comedy like so many
01:01:07.780 other things is an ever-evolving uh environment and your ability to do it is an ever-evolving
01:01:14.300 environment so if instead of looking at dodger stadium being the biggest thing you've ever done
01:01:18.520 maybe the end of the road for you is being the best comic you ever can be and that never ends
01:01:23.300 and so you can find yourself on stage for the rest of your life whether there's 10 people serving
01:01:28.300 fucking Michelob Ultras in the crowd or you're selling out Wembley you're just doing the best 0.54
01:01:33.000 you can for yourself and so maybe maybe people sometimes need to just like change up their 0.99
01:01:37.120 metric for what they're doing and why they're doing it because I'm sure you fucking love what
01:01:40.420 you're doing regardless of how many people are in that is that that that was very well put very 0.97
01:01:44.720 well put thank you for that yeah oh that's that's awesome give something hey fucking learn i got you 0.60
01:01:49.860 i got one uh well so like sometimes when i'm deep on myself and i think uh no but on a serious note 0.76
01:01:57.660 uh how do you stop yourself from like if say you that is your your goal right that's your top that's
01:02:03.620 the thing you want to wake like walk away from how do you stop yourself from being bitter when it's
01:02:07.840 done because that's one thing i'm noticing people that i look up to the one thing that i don't want 0.96
01:02:13.060 to have that takeaway from is like fuck dude once i see somebody accomplish their goal it's like the 0.89
01:02:17.540 scariest thing is because the goal lasts 30 seconds once it's finished it's done and then now i'm just 0.98
01:02:23.200 watching them tear themselves apart if it's like a mental thing or if it's like a physical thing
01:02:27.180 you want to call someone out my car what are you talking about no i'm not talking about it anyway
01:02:30.580 i'm talking somebody i look up to is is is dealing with this and so i i watch it and it's very it's
01:02:37.360 very tricky it's it's a it's a very um it touches deep at home because think about it you worked
01:02:43.120 your whole entire life for this you worked your whole entire life you did all the sacrifices you
01:02:47.040 know you finish it and now you're just like either mad that it's done or you're lost and you have
01:02:52.580 nowhere else to go so like how do you what like how do you keep yourself sane can i add can i add
01:02:57.160 one before you answer that or and i'm seeing this because i think i'm catching what you're saying
01:03:00.880 now is um a lot of people who are really great at what they do have a hard time adapting to
01:03:07.000 an ever-changing landscape especially right now right there's new ways to be successful there's
01:03:12.100 new ways to do exactly what you're doing sometimes even better than you are and a lot of the the old
01:03:16.500 heads sometimes have a hard time swallowing that i'm not sure there's a question but no no no but
01:03:21.880 uh as far as as far as being bitter like for me i'm thinking okay if i did everything i could
01:03:28.760 possibly do that i could think of and all the boxes have been checked i i don't see how i could
01:03:34.280 be bitter um unless there was like oh man if only i could have done that one thing or or done that
01:03:39.840 one thing then maybe there's that unfinished business then that could lead to bitterness
01:03:44.720 but i think that if if everything has been done uh it has to be nothing short of of joy and a
01:03:50.400 celebration of the fact that it happened you would think you would literally think because i think
01:03:54.880 this way i think there's no way you're not celebrating for the rest of your life but i've
01:03:58.660 realized just from watching it bro it's there for example you you're in like this you're going 100
01:04:03.280 miles an hour but behind you you have a thousand people that you're directing how to set up these
01:04:07.480 things how to do these all these people make their livings off of the direction you're taking
01:04:10.820 now imagine goes and now you're like no one's asking me to do anything or like act to do
01:04:15.960 anything i have to jump onto this ship and do that that is the problem that i've noticed and
01:04:21.080 and i think it's wrestling with the pride thing like drake said something in an interview once
01:04:25.800 that stuck with me forever he goes i'm just i hope i know when it's my time to go to like leave
01:04:31.700 and move on and be happy and i was like how the fuck is that a like a trouble thing to do and i
01:04:36.940 never locked in until i saw my heroes go through it bro they were saying things that i never thought 0.79
01:04:41.700 they'd ever say they're doing things that i never thought they'd ever do and it's all because they're 0.70
01:04:45.580 just fucking prideful in the fact that yo my time's done i'm gonna move on i'm gonna go do this 0.86
01:04:50.340 and it's just and by the way i'm not saying that you're anywhere near that i hope you're not getting 0.97
01:04:55.020 that at all no but uh i hear what you're saying you know what that actually is a concern because
01:04:59.100 i do have i do you know there's a support system and definitely if i was to just stop that would
01:05:05.180 be an issue but i don't think i would just stop uh you know trying to be an entertainer or try to
01:05:11.540 be in this business somehow um i would just you know once everything is checked if i decided to
01:05:17.640 walk away you know i would have to find something to i couldn't just sit oh you can't retire and
01:05:22.780 twiddle my my fingers and be like all right we're just gonna we gotta switch it up get our feet in
01:05:26.920 the pool and you need a hobby i would need to find something to do um i i think it would need
01:05:31.700 to be something that would require me to give focus and attention if it's a hobby you're just
01:05:36.020 going to kind of like you know unless you monetize it i would need to yeah i would need to make it
01:05:41.900 something that that like i need to give it you know you got to water it you got to nurture it
01:05:45.580 you got to grow it you got to embrace it and make it something but definitely i couldn't just walk
01:05:50.560 away because i know that me stopping would stop an entire machine of of people and their families
01:05:56.480 and things are going on there's always you know it's not just me so i got to make sure that that
01:06:01.700 you know whatever it is i do it's i'm looking out for everyone else and you know because if everyone
01:06:06.700 knows that i'm i'm being mindful of that then they're going to be mindful with me so it's kind
01:06:10.680 of like it's a it's a give and take but yeah with drake you know we're talking about a different
01:06:15.060 tax bracket altogether you know there's that one percent and then there's that freaking zero
01:06:19.080 well yeah because that's a luxury because that's a luxury in its own right too it's like you know
01:06:26.300 to be drake he can say something like that like i hope i know when it's my time to go
01:06:30.660 because he because he can check his bank account he's like all right well i got 580 million today
01:06:36.480 so maybe i should wait till i got 972 not everybody has that some people have to keep working because
01:06:42.800 they got bills to pay they got food to put on the table so it's a little bit more complicated than
01:06:45.920 just knowing that your legacy is secured sometimes you need to know that you can afford to pay for
01:06:50.640 mortgage for the next 20 some odd years of your life before you check in your final destination 1.00
01:06:55.400 in the fucking ground, brother. 1.00
01:06:58.040 You feel me? 1.00
01:06:59.500 Are you a gangster? 0.98
01:07:00.260 Hey, I was just trying to get deep. 1.00
01:07:02.740 Fuck, I'll talk about toes right now, bro. 0.99
01:07:04.780 All I'm saying is some people have to keep working. 1.00
01:07:07.800 Okay, man. 0.99
01:07:08.480 No, don't fucking... 0.99
01:07:09.560 You've been blocking me the whole time. 1.00
01:07:11.580 Now you're going to fucking shut up. 1.00
01:07:12.760 That's fucked up, bro. 1.00
01:07:13.900 Because I caught that look first, man. 1.00
01:07:16.360 Hey, I know you're rich.
01:07:20.060 But are you buying stuff?
01:07:22.100 Fun stuff.
01:07:23.100 Fun stuff.
01:07:23.920 Toys.
01:07:24.220 we have this go uh go fund me yeah we all want go-karts we got we got these dogs man
01:07:31.660 we got these dogs you got both you know what no i don't have a boat uh i have friends that
01:07:38.200 have boats and they are either really really happy or really really upset at the fact that
01:07:42.640 they have a boat so i don't want to i don't you know i'd rather just be like hey can we go for a
01:07:47.720 ride this weekend yeah yeah yeah and then that's it um my toys are uh volkswagons i collect 0.54
01:07:53.440 volkswagen oh shit and so i i call it i have a about 30 volkswagens oh oh you have a hobby
01:07:59.200 yeah well i yeah you got a hobby man i call it the j leno starter kit i got i got these cars 0.98
01:08:04.860 and then i recently started collecting muscle cars so i got like a 68 uh camaro i got a you
01:08:10.440 know 69 chevelle i got two chevelles actually i just bought a 64 impala and i know it sounds
01:08:15.780 right you know okay of course he has a 64 impala no i'm not doing anything to it that looks like a
01:08:21.080 a 90s video i'm keeping it stock that's cool but yeah so i got i got some cars and um you know i
01:08:27.640 have my uh aside from stand-up i have my merch company so i have a building in long beach where
01:08:32.340 you know i keep everything going and that's that's where most of the staff is and uh so yeah just
01:08:37.080 making you know coming up with ideas for for stuff to put out there in the shows and you know yeah
01:08:41.640 i i ask because i i do think it's important uh for hustlers like yourself that you you reap
01:08:48.700 the benefits of your work the thing that you're doing you know and uh i'm glad to hear you have
01:08:54.340 30 volkswagens nice and if you want to donate one to our go fund me we will accept so uh you know
01:09:03.360 one thing that i i really admire uh aside from the fact that you've managed to find so many different
01:09:09.260 um avenues to to thrive in is uh i met your your trainer you got a you got a train like a legit
01:09:16.400 trainer because i know people say oh i got a personal trainer there's always some douche with
01:09:19.340 a freaking bottle of water walking around no a gallon a gallon of water yeah he's got the glasses
01:09:24.580 he's always biting the glasses i'm his trainer and stuff but no your dude's legit um i think that's 0.70
01:09:29.280 the one thing that has uh that i haven't gotten a grasp on yet is is getting my health in order
01:09:35.960 and i don't just mean in order i mean getting to the point where you know uh like getting to a
01:09:41.420 certain level physically where nothing hurts where you know because i'm 46 now and it's it's
01:09:46.380 different you know i used to not have pain and now i have pain and i don't fight people i don't get
01:09:51.660 hit where i feel like i got hit dude it's everywhere bro it's everywhere that's why i put on sandals
01:09:57.640 because freaking tying shoes it's like hey hey hey it's not good you need support so the sandals are 0.71
01:10:03.700 bad actually you need to support these the knees how are your knees on the road i'm good i got you 0.72
01:10:08.160 No, I wear my New Balance because that's the healthy shoe.
01:10:11.580 What are those scars from?
01:10:13.220 Oh, knee surgery.
01:10:14.640 ACL, MCL?
01:10:16.200 Torn meniscus.
01:10:17.260 Yeah, MCL.
01:10:17.880 Torn meniscus.
01:10:19.220 That's a big scar for a meniscus.
01:10:21.320 That's a big knee.
01:10:23.340 Touche.
01:10:25.160 It's funny because my doctor told me, he goes, yeah, that's a procedure.
01:10:27.820 It takes about 90 minutes.
01:10:29.060 And then four hours later, he goes, wow.
01:10:32.820 He goes, that took a minute.
01:10:33.980 We were really in there.
01:10:34.920 Yeah, that took a minute.
01:10:35.900 But no, man, congrats on everything.
01:10:37.340 But more importantly, man, just, dude, you freaking, you know, way to go.
01:10:41.660 Way to stay in shape.
01:10:42.480 It's not an easy thing to do.
01:10:43.760 And that's a lot of sacrifice, a lot of time.
01:10:45.640 And, man, I love burgers.
01:10:47.160 And it's hard.
01:10:48.100 Hey.
01:10:48.640 It's hard.
01:10:49.480 Also, yeah.
01:10:51.100 I love burgers.
01:10:53.020 But you're.
01:10:53.680 Clearly, I love them more.
01:10:55.080 You might.
01:10:56.340 You might.
01:10:57.000 You want to argue with me?
01:10:57.740 Hey, listen, I was 80 pounds.
01:10:59.620 Everyone, listen, this is what I want to say.
01:11:01.060 I want to say this to you, Fluff.
01:11:03.820 Can I call you Fluff?
01:11:04.700 Yeah.
01:11:05.020 Okay.
01:11:05.200 i i would i would i would love for you to think about your health while it is still an option
01:11:13.040 do you hear what i'm saying yeah absolutely because one day a doctor will tell you that 0.98
01:11:19.460 it's no longer an option and it's the worst fucking thing that you will ever hear in your 0.97
01:11:23.540 entire fucking life well haven't you already been told that absolutely yeah yeah so you know so you 0.97
01:11:28.280 know what it's like yeah what was the what was your thing you you you had you were on no yeah 0.99
01:11:32.180 being diabetic you know having uh just anytime you're overweight yeah you're always gonna have
01:11:36.980 a a series of issues and the older you get the harder it gets to to you know bring it in and 0.92
01:11:42.000 and do something with it and so yeah i'm at that point now where i'm like fuck man that's a lot of
01:11:46.380 money i'm gonna leave behind uh you know who's gonna drive the volkswagen so many of them everyone
01:11:54.800 in this room gets one volkswagen what's that what's that struggle like though for you it's hard
01:11:58.940 man because it's like you know i and i even have a gym that's the sad part i have a gym and it's
01:12:03.080 like 20 feet away from my room and it's like it's not just it's it's like ah it's it's it's so
01:12:09.340 it's a it's a mental thing for sure i want i want to i want to suggest something it's a theory that
01:12:13.940 i'm playing with that i think works because believe it or not i actually don't i don't i
01:12:18.940 don't love working out and and i'm i'm physical uh physically fit by default i guess now because
01:12:24.660 it's like it's it's my job of the business you know but i i don't like working out dude it's
01:12:29.960 hard like i i i struggle like everyone else but something that has always helped me and
01:12:33.800 if um physical health is going to become a priority in the upcoming years of your life
01:12:38.640 uh just put on your tennis shoes start there put on your tennis shoes go to the gym i don't care
01:12:46.760 if you are on your phone i don't care if you're hanging out with a friend show up put on your
01:12:51.200 tennis shoes and go to the gym see what happens because i bet you end up doing something something
01:12:56.940 even if you just even if you are texting like mike go on the elliptical text whatever it is
01:13:01.980 and and it is a consistency thing is it is a slow build-up but eventually you will start to feel
01:13:07.680 that momentum that you have now in a different arena because i'm i'm hearing you talk i know
01:13:12.460 you have the success trait i know if you devoted energy to physical health or anything physical
01:13:18.740 fitness you could do it you know put on your tennis shoes go to your gym that's right outside
01:13:23.220 your door they're right there text work on work on your routine whatever it is like even if you
01:13:27.000 dude i i mean you're you're 100 speaking 100 my language it's just showing up there are some days
01:13:32.000 when i go to the gym and i go on the elliptical for 15 minutes i get a little sweat going and i
01:13:36.200 went my main thing is that i get there every single day but the other the messed up thing
01:13:40.700 about it is uh and you know counter that point so many people i expect even me talk about going 0.79
01:13:46.500 to the gym every single day but all of this shit is built in the kitchen it's all gut help it's all 0.93
01:13:52.000 what you're putting in your body you could you could run a marathon every fucking day but if 1.00
01:13:55.800 you're eating like shit you're gonna look and you're gonna feel like shit and this is the lesson 0.99
01:13:59.640 i've been learning lately it's a lot of it is because because i've struggled a ton with my 1.00
01:14:03.260 weight i was i was just about 300 pounds at one point and i lost 130 pounds i was down to 170
01:14:08.580 which was actually disgusting oh my god it was horrifying i was cycling a lot and eating nothing
01:14:13.060 but um lately i've been just working on trying to find that balance with food and a lot of it
01:14:18.100 for me lately has just been straight up portion control because like you start to feel like if
01:14:22.660 you eat grilled if you're just eating grilled chicken you're just eating potatoes but you're
01:14:26.340 you still have these massive plates that you feel the you know when you feel the weight of the plate
01:14:30.740 yes that's still not okay like you got to just control your portions you know or at least that's
01:14:35.060 what i found for me so i don't know you you know better than we do you've got years on us and uh
01:14:40.900 You know, some things do work, but then you get comfortable.
01:14:44.260 You're like, wow, look at me.
01:14:45.300 This is going really well.
01:14:46.260 And then you want to celebrate.
01:14:47.240 Yep, yep.
01:14:48.200 And next thing you know, there's a Jiffy peanut butter on the counter, and you got a spoon in it.
01:14:52.820 You're like, ugh.
01:14:54.720 It's like, anybody else got that whole peanut butter crack thing?
01:14:57.680 Yeah.
01:14:58.120 Hell yeah.
01:14:58.660 I can relate to the crack part.
01:14:59.760 So I grab the peanut butter and a spoon, and then I'll get a bowl of cereal, and then I'll hit the cereal with the spoon.
01:15:06.780 Wait.
01:15:07.140 And then I'll eat the cereal off the, yeah, it's like a little combo.
01:15:10.000 Oh, that's.
01:15:10.540 Sorry, what type of cereal?
01:15:12.180 I'll get like Frosted Flakes or something.
01:15:16.000 Or peanut butter on the spoon.
01:15:18.140 Or even Raisin Bran, because I like the raisins.
01:15:19.780 Can you give me one more, a third try?
01:15:21.440 A third try?
01:15:22.300 Like Honey Nut Cheerios.
01:15:24.560 That surprises me.
01:15:26.060 I was thinking maybe you might include the goat.
01:15:28.840 The goat of all cereals.
01:15:30.200 And everyone knows it.
01:15:31.400 Well, Cap'n Cron's is close.
01:15:32.680 That's like a senior executive at the company.
01:15:34.820 Jeff, you know it?
01:15:38.300 Thank you.
01:15:38.780 Toast Crunch. Yeah. CEO of the business,
01:15:41.100 the operator, the president. Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
01:15:42.940 Hold on a second. Hold on a second. Relax.
01:15:45.260 This is a known thing.
01:15:47.260 This is an objective situation.
01:15:49.360 Everyone in the world knows that when you talk
01:15:50.920 about cereal... Everybody shout out their cereal now.
01:15:53.140 No, no, no. What did you say?
01:15:55.380 Fruity bubbles. I mean, great.
01:15:56.920 So also senior VP level.
01:15:58.980 You've got one, you know, basically
01:16:00.820 God of cereal and then all the other
01:16:02.880 little guys can play under it. That's fine.
01:16:04.220 And it's because
01:16:05.640 you can do so much with Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
01:16:08.100 It's not just about the cereal.
01:16:09.760 That milk afterwards, that is a flavor.
01:16:12.700 It's called horchata.
01:16:14.180 Horchata.
01:16:16.200 If you got Cinnamon Toast Crunch and you put milk in it
01:16:19.340 and you eat whatever's left over,
01:16:21.520 that's freaking horchata. 0.71
01:16:22.260 Is that what that is? 0.90
01:16:24.140 It's not, but that's what it tastes like.
01:16:26.440 You see how offended he goes?
01:16:27.520 It's not.
01:16:28.840 That's rice water, but it tastes like it though
01:16:31.800 because of the cinnamon. 0.98
01:16:32.960 I call it angel cum. 0.99
01:16:35.440 Yeah, angel cum. 0.99
01:16:36.780 so five so five dishes five dishes is the magic number you take that bowl after five bowls of 1.00
01:16:42.260 cinnamon toast crunch you take that milk you could bottle that shit and sell it to fucking bill 0.99
01:16:45.660 cosby bro literally dude i'm not i'm not even fucking get it bro five oh yeah oh yeah cosby 1.00
01:16:52.840 will gobble that shit right up do you smoke i used to for how i used to in my 20s uh i'd say 0.98
01:16:59.220 i had a little run uh between like i'd say like 20 and 20 almost 30 why'd you stop you know what 0.99
01:17:06.140 i rely on my voice and and my uh weed dries out your throat man and then my voice was starting
01:17:11.820 to crack uh and and that became a problem and plus i'm like i'm good you know i mean what did
01:17:18.060 i need to come down from i'd rather drink i'd rather drink than smoke really yeah i'm the
01:17:22.520 opposite yeah same i think the implications of drinking they they're longer lasting for me
01:17:28.120 weed i can chill out they're both do you have a hyperactive brain but the problem too is that uh
01:17:34.000 Either I'll go right to sleep or I am up thinking about like how to conquer the world.
01:17:39.480 You know, I'm just like, all right, all right, what's going on in my brain or drinking with weed?
01:17:43.180 Oh, weed, weed.
01:17:44.240 Yeah, no.
01:17:44.860 And then I start thinking about I get dark, too.
01:17:46.880 Oh, that's how I always was.
01:17:48.480 Dark things.
01:17:49.060 And then I got friends that go, oh, you got to try the the the the double berry fudge.
01:17:53.920 Yeah.
01:17:54.600 Cush.
01:17:55.140 And I'm like, talk to me in English, dude.
01:17:57.080 I have no idea.
01:17:58.100 And then I have friends that will give me like edibles.
01:17:59.820 And I thought that was a good idea for sleeping.
01:18:01.240 and then i i uh i was given one and i didn't feel anything i thought you were supposed to feel it
01:18:07.380 like in i love 20 minutes i love and so i ate like two more rookie mistake i was on the uh i was on
01:18:15.280 the 405 man and i'm like it hit and i'm just like wow and i remember being so grateful that there
01:18:24.080 was traffic because at least i was able to manage at five miles an hour to get home where it was
01:18:29.920 just like hmm yeah i was just so happy for traffic at that moment i i don't like edibles because it
01:18:36.740 takes too long to hit and it takes too long to go out of your system and and if you're having a bad
01:18:41.700 trip that's no yikes plot twist there was no traffic buddy nice it was you were driving it
01:18:47.740 was a saturday you were driving five miles an hour in the fast lane with no one in front of you oh
01:18:53.200 man yeah so that for me is just i i can't i can't handle it so i that's oh it's it's rough
01:18:58.560 i'd rather take some advil pm okay call it a night or some or some like well zequel yeah
01:19:04.480 yeah right or zequel yeah uh okay well dude that's all that's all i got uh nice
01:19:09.060 no no for the show i i uh i feel blessed and and extremely full after talking with you man
01:19:18.620 nice i appreciate your time and energy and thanks for coming on and can we talk real quick
01:19:22.600 when we first met uh hey wait wait wait don't kill it okay i like this oh wait wait all right
01:19:27.860 uh he mentioned it uh earlier we uh we met at the um andy ruiz white party yeah uh i've heard
01:19:35.640 it does sound racist it does sound racist so andy ruiz had just won the the heavyweight championship
01:19:41.420 from uh from joshua and he wanted to celebrate and he threw this white party at his house and
01:19:46.340 when i heard white party what does that mean because i that's i did the same thing i'm like
01:19:50.240 am i invited i'm like do they want me to park cars or what why am i being invited to this uh
01:19:56.900 yeah i don't own anything white other than like you know underwear and even that's questionable
01:20:01.540 um and so i when i agreed it's offway i was i was allowed to bring a couple of friends with me and
01:20:07.600 so i told everybody all right here's the catch it's a white party and then they're all like
01:20:10.700 dude we're not i know you're not so so we all had to go to the store and then buy clothes that we
01:20:18.220 just for the party time just for the party and so that's where you know i met you there your
01:20:22.300 brother and andy andy wore white for the first 30 minutes of that party and then he's like i'm andy
01:20:28.660 it's my house i'm the one throwing the party and then he went and changed he was he went and 0.90
01:20:32.920 fucked up that night too it was a party but but i gotta say this as the classic gringos of that 0.96
01:20:39.240 party because there were very few like we were the only whites at the white party i don't think i've 0.97
01:20:43.860 ever been so scared to like look at a girl remember i was we were i was telling you about
01:20:48.000 this and louise has some boys bro and so do you i don't have his boys i don't have just in general
01:20:53.760 like obviously the house the mexican culture didn't the house have a kind of a scarface feel
01:20:57.660 yes that's what i'm trying to say bro there was some oh i'm looking around yes
01:21:01.380 tower do not slip up yeah there was some good looking girls there and somebody was like kevin
01:21:06.840 or no kevin wasn't there yet but somebody was like yo you see that girl over there and i was
01:21:10.320 like no i don't i don't i haven't seen a single girl at this place there was a girl in a bikini
01:21:15.620 and she had a sword and she that was the one that was the one we're talking about yeah she was 0.61
01:21:20.640 shopping bottles bottles and pain and she's like watch this and then boom and you could tell you 0.95
01:21:26.340 know she's just boom and she's knocking this over no one's even looking at that her i couldn't hold
01:21:30.900 off on i did get her instagram i remember that i remember i remember that very vivid she was
01:21:34.960 my ghost it's worth yes yes well and she had a sword so i was like maybe she'll defend me
01:21:40.560 but it was such a it was a it was a good time it was just the entire time i was like
01:21:46.700 all right now what now so once i saw the girl with the sword and then and then there was a
01:21:50.440 naked girl with sushi it was covered in sushi yes and i'm like okay there's a naked girl with sushi
01:21:55.440 and the guy's like do you like sushi i go i think i do i like sushi we're eating sushi and then
01:22:01.380 there was drinks and then there was a fountain and and there's just so many different things
01:22:05.440 going on i'm like you know it was cool we took a we took a really cool picture and uh you and your
01:22:10.420 brother and andy and myself yep and i and i uh i posted it online a while back and i says yeah
01:22:14.580 uh andy reese and i are gonna challenge you know challenge the brothers for the the tag team
01:22:20.060 championship it was just being stupid and then people started making comments in there and i'm
01:22:24.540 like wow oh wow yeah the block was really hot for us back then i think we're but you know what 0.97
01:22:32.200 just like wrestling man uh if people are talking about you that's good heat whether it's good or
01:22:36.340 bad that's uh you know that that equals numbers so numbers are bank numbers we've learned that now
01:22:42.920 you know it takes a while though to get used to people talking bad about you and jake has taken
01:22:50.300 kind of on the role of villain more than me
01:22:52.680 and he loves it. I haven't always been good
01:22:54.700 at it. You know, because I just
01:22:56.620 want to be liked. We all want to be
01:22:58.700 pretty normal. Yeah, I just want
01:23:00.660 to be liked. I don't. But sometimes you do
01:23:02.560 got to activate that. And I think at that time, Jake was
01:23:04.380 really pressing some buttons, which is probably what you
01:23:06.580 were feeling. But we've come a long way, man.
01:23:08.720 We've come a long way. And it is. I mean,
01:23:10.460 it is an honor to have you on this podcast. And I really
01:23:12.600 appreciate this time. I think a lot of people are going to take
01:23:14.540 away a lot of good stuff in this episode. Big wrestling
01:23:16.580 fan, too, by the way. Hey, man, I am going to make
01:23:18.680 proud in that in that vertical oh man wrestlemania la i'm gonna be there april 1st i'm gonna be
01:23:24.580 birthday dude i'm gonna go crazy oh my gosh i want to see you there i'm gonna be there cool
01:23:30.940 i'm gonna be cool cool hell yeah well gabriel thank you for coming on sorry uh we're actually
01:23:36.940 doing something new moving forward i think you guys want to open this up or no jorge i want to
01:23:43.340 i want to see you try to describe it okay i'll describe it uh i was sitting home smoking a fat
01:23:47.880 jay and i'm sitting there watching all of your stand-up and i'm getting so excited that we're
01:23:51.740 about to sit down and talk and i go dude we sit down with the coolest people in the world
01:23:55.960 and we don't take anything but that beautiful conversation so i kind of wanted to start
01:24:00.140 something where uh we get you to sign and give us money for a go fund uh no we want you we want
01:24:10.200 you to sign something so we could take it away because i think you're something really special
01:24:13.440 in this world and i don't want to walk away without having something memorable very nice thank you
01:24:17.400 yeah so sign this and give us money i'm actually gonna auction it off so we can buy it folks no
01:24:22.100 no no but but but okay but do we do we have a marker just gonna hand him a shirt yes i did
01:24:26.060 i brought a marker or why don't you just give him the shirt so that make more sense
01:24:29.200 we got you the hawaiian shirt because you know that's my thing yep exactly and and george did
01:24:36.040 have the good idea uh we get memorabilia related to the guests and have them sign it i actually
01:24:40.500 think it's a great idea george and you're right and we'd love for you to sign this and be our
01:24:43.120 first memorabilia impulsive so uh interesting fact the reason why i wear hawaiian shirts is
01:24:47.640 because of robin williams oh no way yeah that was his thing and so uh you know i said i just wanted
01:24:52.720 to be like robin and uh yeah so cool man okay we'll get you a marker after the show but we're
01:24:57.480 gonna be doing that oh he's gonna do it right now because i'm gonna do it you can use my back
01:25:01.660 He's been in that position too many times
01:25:06.500 This podcast
01:25:06.820 What are you saying
01:25:09.860 Jeff is pissed right now
01:25:12.420 What are we going to do with it
01:25:15.580 I just think it's cool to have
01:25:18.760 George is right
01:25:19.620 We have some pretty cool conversations
01:25:20.820 Well no but the way that it was explained
01:25:22.420 I started this episode angry 0.97
01:25:24.240 I'm going to fucking finish it 0.98
01:25:25.220 He came here 0.99
01:25:27.040 George said that all the guests comes here
01:25:29.340 They give us something and all we do is take that away
01:25:31.420 So now he gave us the show and his signature.
01:25:34.080 Now we've taken even more.
01:25:35.500 Like, where was the logic?
01:25:36.840 What?
01:25:37.080 I can't hear you, Dylan, because the mics are resting on a wire.
