00:00:04.000 We want you to join us on our new podcast,
00:00:06.660 No Safe Words with October and Tony Gonzalez.
00:00:08.960 Where we get real about marriage, parenthood, sex, divorce,
00:00:12.520 and all the nitty gritty stuff we all think about.
00:00:14.980 But just don't say it out loud.
00:00:16.060 You're probably just going to be some rich guy
00:00:17.460 and he's going to whisk you away.
00:00:19.760 This is awkward.
00:00:20.820 Listen to No Safe Words with October and Tony Gonzalez

00:00:31.880 they change how you show up for your life.
00:00:34.080 I'm Emily Abadi.
00:00:35.320 On the Hurdle with Emily Abadi podcast,
00:00:37.380 I sit down with elite athletes, record holders, coaches,
00:00:40.740 and everyday runners to unpack the mindset behind pushing through
00:00:43.680 when things get tough.
00:00:45.160 Because the discipline, grace, and grit you build out there on the pavement,
00:00:49.020 that's what helps you show up as your best self everywhere else.
00:00:52.560 I just love to say I never know who's watching.
00:00:54.400 So you want to make sure you're you through and through,

00:01:13.040 Don't invite me to karaoke.
00:01:14.700 I'm going to make it weird.
00:01:16.000 Someone's going to try to sing,
00:01:17.120 Leave, Get Out, or Too Little, Too Late, or Baby, It's You.
00:01:19.260 Oh, no.
00:01:19.960 And I'm going to be like, okay, cool.
00:01:22.560 Check out my conversation with JoJo, WALO267,

00:01:27.000 Listen to The Questlove Show on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:01:34.260 Peace.
00:01:35.380 There are thousands of podcasts that can tell you how to better yourself.
00:01:40.000 Get Worse with Kyle Pru is not one of those podcasts.
00:01:43.380 So if you're interested in getting thinner, going to therapy, starting peptides, setting boundaries, taking supplements, making your better, getting closure, then I would humbly recommend other podcasts.
00:01:52.140 If you're interested in blackmail, love bombing, cloning yourself or getting revenge, then we've got a little something something for a dastardly individual like you.
00:02:00.720 Listen to Get Worse with Kyle Pru on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:02:06.360 Did you come to that conclusion yourself?
00:02:08.640 Yes, absolutely. I mean, I saw the comments right away and I was like, this is I mean, that's just not OK.
00:02:12.540 So if I want to hook up with dudes for a month in March, I can't do that.
00:02:19.320 Are you being making that as a joke or are you being legitimate?
00:02:22.140 ladies and gentlemen welcome back to impulsive we are here to fuck shit up today but first
00:02:37.140 we must fix something um you guys might remember uh at the beginning of the year this was our first
00:02:43.200 podcast back um this is something that i said nobody move check your six don't breathe 2019
00:02:51.120 is off to a good start.
00:02:52.840 I have yet to make a mistake
00:02:53.740 and ruin my entire career.
00:02:54.740 Look out!
00:02:55.340 Oh, fucking shit!
00:02:56.460 Oh.
00:02:57.440 I spoke too soon.
00:03:00.260 I hate to hear it.
00:03:00.980 I spoke too soon
00:03:02.180 because as you guys know,
00:03:04.160 may know,
00:03:04.980 this past weekend,
00:03:05.900 I was yet again
00:03:07.300 at the center of controversy
00:03:08.820 when we said,
00:03:10.360 or me specifically,
00:03:11.480 when I said this
00:03:12.100 on a podcast
00:03:12.700 with Brother Nature.
00:03:14.800 Where again?
00:03:15.360 No, no, no.
00:03:15.900 It's, what is it?
00:03:16.660 Mail-only March?
00:03:17.640 Mail.
00:03:18.340 Why don't you say this part?
00:03:19.400 So it's mail-only March.
00:03:20.440 we're going to attempt to go gay for just one month and then swing and then go back
00:03:24.120 yeah so the lgbt community was um not happy with me at all they roasted and toasted me on twitter
00:03:33.720 there was over um 140 000 reads or tweets um again just just press coverage yeah it was once
00:03:42.800 again i was the headline logan paul receives backlash um about the going gay comment and um
00:03:48.340 Here I am thinking I made an innocuous, harmless comment about sexuality, but the gay community made it very clear that it does not work like that.
00:03:57.320 So I have not addressed this. I actually have been very low on social for two reasons.
00:04:03.420 A, I got my tonsils out and this recovery is a motherfucker. This surgery is a bitch and I have not been able to talk even now.
00:04:10.800 That's why I'm sort of talking rhythmically. Shit hurts.
00:04:13.420 But B, I also don't feel like the cookie cutter social media response of uploading an apology video or writing something in my notes and then screenshotting it and posting it to Twitter was appropriate for this.
00:04:25.320 This started on impulsive, and I want to flesh it out on impulsive.
00:04:29.240 But more importantly, as I try to do with this podcast, use this as an educational opportunity for us and you guys, the audience, to learn about the LGBTQ community and the things they go through, the struggles they've been through.
00:04:42.520 And believe it or not, I am and always have been and always will be a huge proponent and supporter of the LGBTQ movement.
00:04:51.380 And for the hundreds of thousands of people who tweeted at me online, said whatever, if you guys are even watching this, which I really hope you are, if you ever, never, ever do anything again regarding Logan Paul, I have one ask, and it is that you watch the entirety of this podcast.
00:05:10.600 I think that's a fair ask.
00:05:12.080 And through many of the tweets, and there were many, we got one from an organization called GLAD.
00:05:20.700 This was one of the first ones that came in.
00:05:23.620 That's not how it works, at Logan Paul.
00:05:27.140 So here to elaborate on the subject matter and explain to us how it does indeed work is Air Force veteran, yacht master, author, and inventor of mustard, Josh Seyfried.
00:05:39.000 love mustard love your work with i love mustard too low calories no calories it's really just
00:05:45.620 phenomenal all around how are you josh i'm doing well yo so you you're from dc i am you live there
00:05:51.020 right now you flew in just for just for this just for 48 hours just for this let's go bro i i wish
00:05:56.360 i was at 100 for you i'm i have like a list i can barely talk right now have you ever gotten
00:06:00.180 your tonsils out i have not gotten my tonsils out but i've had tons of dental work done like
00:06:04.100 half my teeth are fake. Really? Oh, yeah. Okay. Never get your tonsils out. This shit is up,
00:06:08.380 bitch, bro. It sucks. Yeah. But thank you for coming. Thanks for joining us on Impulsive today.
00:06:14.280 Hopefully we can get some education today from you. And I undersold you there a bit on the intro.
00:06:20.640 Can you elaborate on some of the cool stuff you've done for the LGBTQ community? Yeah,
00:06:25.160 absolutely. So I joined the Air Force about nine years ago or 10 years ago, and I had a pretty
00:06:29.880 untraditional path. Within four months, I was blackmailed by an instructor for being gay
00:06:34.580 through my whole career in Jeopardy. And when my career was going down, I decided to do something
00:06:41.240 about it. So I organized the LGBT community in a hidden social network that grew to thousands
00:06:47.800 of people. And when we started to work on the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, the Pentagon
00:06:52.300 and the White House would actually work with us to help repeal and implement the repeal of Don't
00:06:57.680 Don't Tell. I think most importantly is that during Don't Ask, Don't Tell, the LGBT community
00:07:02.200 felt alone. You know, when they're at a base in Afghanistan or Iraq, there's no one they could
00:07:06.480 talk to. And when we started to connect them via social media, they, for the first time,
00:07:11.280 could talk to each other, find people. They were having coffee meetings in Afghanistan. They still
00:07:15.520 do. There's tons of people that are serving right now that are connected because of what we created
00:07:19.880 with our social media. What's that organization called?
00:07:23.560 out serve it's now out serve sldn out serve and they still actively work um on lgbt issues in
00:07:29.380 the military as we know uh trump has put on a trans ban of military service right now and there's
00:07:34.360 trans people right now serving in the military in afghanistan and iraq and uh we're still fighting
00:07:39.620 for that and so out serve sldn is leading the way on on fighting trump in the courts and also
00:07:44.060 making sure that they can serve yeah this which is amazing man thank you a for your service and
00:07:49.420 for the things you've done for the lgbtq community like round of applause um seriously amazing work
00:07:54.380 he has a book it's called our time um i would read this if i could read i i actually i can't
00:08:00.020 read words i can do some pictures for you is there if it's a picture book i can i would love to uh
00:08:04.300 love to read it so this is the the thing you're doing is is one of the very very relevant social
00:08:10.780 topics right now and that's why i i actually think this podcast is going to be great because
00:08:15.500 um i am a huge proponent of the lgbtq community again believe it or not and i always have been
00:08:21.440 um and so i think i i'm i'm very comfortable with this subject so you're openly gay correct
00:08:27.240 absolutely yes okay so so mike yeah absolutely i love that surprise so so did my comment offend
00:08:34.880 you personally oh absolutely okay um and i think one of the reasons it offended me is that i watch
00:08:39.860 some of your stuff on YouTube. But my brothers are 11 and 14 years younger than I am, and they
00:08:45.180 love you. And, you know, they don't watch me on CNN or MSNBC, but they watch you. And so when they
00:08:50.580 see you making a joke about being gay or going gay for a month, it affects them. You are a person
00:08:55.500 that sets the tone of what is acceptable to make a joke of. And so when youth watch you and say,
00:09:00.720 hey, Logan Paul made this joke, that's what kind of legitimizes bullying in school. I mean,
00:09:06.220 because you know i grew up you know in a southern baptist uh household where i had this in elementary
00:09:12.200 school on the playground they would joke about hey this kid's gay or things like that and that's
00:09:16.620 what people could take from your comments and that's why it was um awful and i think uh you
00:09:22.700 too especially like when you heard logan say this you should also step up to say that's not cool bro
00:09:26.880 like i think you all we need to be accountable as men to each other to say hey this is not okay
00:09:32.600 I agree.
00:09:33.440 Absolutely.
00:09:34.220 Did you decide it was a joke?
00:09:35.840 What?
00:09:36.380 Did you decide it was a joke?
00:09:37.800 For you?
00:09:38.580 For what you said?
00:09:39.300 Yeah.
00:09:39.640 Oh, I did not think it was a joke at all.
00:09:40.760 I don't think it is acceptable to make that kind of joke.
00:09:43.140 Do you think it's a joke?
00:09:44.660 What he said, do you think what he said was a joke?
00:09:47.400 No.
00:09:50.080 I think what he's asking is, do you think he was being humorous
00:09:53.360 or was he making a statement about an intention to actually-
00:09:55.820 Oh, I think he was trying to be humorous.
00:09:57.540 Was he successful?
00:09:58.400 No.
00:09:58.500 Okay.
00:09:59.940 Did you come to that conclusion yourself?
00:10:02.160 Yes, absolutely. I mean, I saw the comments right away and I was like, this is I mean, that's just not OK.
00:10:06.160 Like if my. So if I want to hook up with dudes for a month in March, I can't do that.
00:10:12.740 Are you being making it as a joke or are you being legitimate?
00:10:15.820 Like if you are generally want to experiment with men, that's a different thing than saying, hey, I'm going to go gay for a month.
00:10:21.860 So making a joke. So if you're being if you're making a joke, that's one thing.
00:10:25.060 If you're being serious and want to want to experiment with men, that's a completely different thing.
00:10:29.240 and if you want to clarify that i that's that's what i would love to do here because that's where
00:10:33.060 i feel like there's been uh there's been uh there's a gap some somewhere here between between
00:10:39.680 what i said and what i tweeted back at glad was um this was a poor choice of words because that's
00:10:44.860 what it was it was a very poor choice of words i understand now that i i've going gay is not a
00:10:52.680 choice that is not what i implied by saying that that is that was what the narrative that was chosen
00:10:59.040 that the media decided to run with i've never thought that i think who you are attracted to
00:11:04.060 is innate to who you are that is genetic and that's that's that i've thought that my whole
00:11:09.560 life and i've had arguments at length at this house about that like plain and simple that is
00:11:15.540 what i believe and by me saying i was going gay horrible choice of words because i again i
00:11:22.100 understand you cannot just go gay but if i want to experiment with men for a month during march
00:11:27.600 how would you describe that action it's experimentation you're you're essentially
00:11:33.180 maybe bi curious and you want to explore your sexuality and we need to support that i mean if
00:11:37.160 that's what you're choosing to do is explore your sexuality then we can have a discussion about that
00:11:41.120 and uh i mean there's tons of support and resources out there to do so because i know it's a very
00:11:45.100 scary thing being a very public person to say hey i i have this curiosity i want to explore my
00:11:51.140 sexuality and we need to have a support system for that to happen so it's not it's not even scary to
00:11:55.840 me because like sexuality is so fluid nowadays i don't think twice about talking about being gay i
00:12:01.560 don't give a shit i don't i don't think being gay is being gay is cool to me i think that it's a very
00:12:06.980 cool thing it is incredibly courageous and noble if you are a gay person to come out and put your
00:12:13.640 foot down and and defy society and say no this is who i am this is me there is nothing more beautiful
00:12:21.120 than being yourself so i i don't again i didn't think twice about it because to me sexuality is
00:12:27.820 so fluid like i like i don't care if he's gay if she's gay if he's bisexual if he's going to
00:12:34.680 be a transgender i don't give a fuck dude so that's why and this this hurts me because i am
00:12:41.160 such a pro gay dude like um what i mean if you're being truthful that you really are planning to
00:12:50.600 experiment with men next month or in february then let's let's let's make that clear i mean
00:12:55.120 because i think that's what's that you need to make that clear so that people do i do i need to
00:12:59.920 make that clear or is that is or is that up to me is that my decision it's absolutely your decision
00:13:05.340 but i think that you need to clarify whether or not it's a joke or not a joke so one thing that
00:13:10.160 i saw quite a bit of is that some of the gay community actually defended logan and said um
00:13:16.620 you know hey it's the same as a straight person making or a gay person making the comment that
00:13:21.600 i'm gonna go straight so what's your opinion on that i know it's different obviously because that
00:13:26.580 community has been suppressed but there is a large gay community that didn't get offended they saw it
00:13:32.680 as a joke so i guess that's our learning lesson here is figuring out okay well that's a joke that
00:13:37.900 crossed the line for some people and i think that's what we're figuring out now and i think a
00:13:41.380 lot of people that uh weren't offended by it kind of probably live in that bubble that uh you know
00:13:47.180 don't have the marginalized community that they live in i mean uh they come from a place of
00:13:52.960 privilege and i think that you need to understand that uh the gay community is marginalized like
00:13:59.800 87 percent of all lgbtq students are bullied in school and so uh we just want to create that
00:14:06.440 atmosphere where you don't have to be the biggest advocate in the world but you just got to not be
00:14:09.320 an asshole. And that's what we got to do is, and a great example of this is Family Guy phasing out
00:14:14.640 their gay jokes right now, is that we just need to set the tone that it's not funny right now,
00:14:19.880 especially in the entertainment industry. Speaking about GLAAD, they do a study every year about the
00:14:24.580 acceptance of LGBT people in America. And last year is at 54%. This year it's at 49%. So it's
00:14:31.440 actually going down. And when we see trends like that in America, we need to step back and say,
00:14:35.240 what are we doing to make america america better um and how we're creating this kind of trend and
00:14:40.860 i think saying it's a joke sets that kind of trend i i think throughout the way but i just
00:14:45.900 want to make clear i did not say that was a joke that was the narrative that the media decided to
00:14:51.620 run with because my name is logan paul sorry i mean are you trying to say that you're going to
00:14:56.600 like explore your sexuality who knows if i want to in march i'm gonna fucking do it if i want to
00:15:01.180 hook up with dudes march i'm gonna fucking do it like i i am not on this uh train of oh i i'm
00:15:08.720 worried about people think i'm i'm gay or i'm straight again i don't care i think i was i said
00:15:15.140 something again poor choice of words and by the way i'm incredibly sorry from the bottom of my
00:15:21.760 heart for any implication that being gay is a choice i do not believe that i think it is an
00:15:28.820 innate who you are attracted to i think i uh misspoke and used the word gay a very charged
00:15:38.180 word gay interchangeably um and mistakenly with a word like experiment or try out and for that
00:15:45.080 genuinely am very sorry but i think also it's clear that you need to make clear especially to
00:15:50.520 the people that watch you that this isn't a joke that if you're truly going to experiment with men
00:15:53.840 you're not making fun of this process like i'm taking a dude upstairs like and then make a funny
00:15:58.140 vlog about it. Like you need to be serious that this is like something that's going on in your
00:16:01.080 life. Cause if you, at the moment that you start making fun of the fact that you're taking a guy
00:16:04.160 upstairs, that's where it crosses the line and becomes a joke. I have a, I have a quick question
00:16:07.700 on that is, are we just, just to make a clear blanket statement right now, are we as a society
00:16:13.180 at a point where we can say without fail, that it is not okay for a straight person
00:16:20.380 to make a joke about the gay community, about being gay, about experimenting with being gay.
00:16:26.600 Like, I think as as times have changed in America, we've seen certain jokes ruled out.
00:16:33.180 We've seen things not be OK to joke about.
00:16:35.200 Have we reached that point?
00:16:36.540 Absolutely not.
00:16:37.180 I mean, like if you watch Conan, he did a hilarious stunt where he went on Grindr.
00:16:41.320 I forget who he went on with, but he went on Grindr to find people.
00:16:44.440 And it was hilarious.
00:16:45.040 But he's there with a LGBT advocate.
00:16:47.560 And it's funny, but he's not crossing a line where he's saying, hey, I can go gay for a month where you still have, you know, 35 states where gay youth conversion therapy.
00:16:56.580 is still okay like that's where the narrative of you know i can go gay for a month is problematic
00:17:02.240 so him going on grinder is him saying i am okay with experimenting for a short period of like
00:17:08.520 he wasn't experimenting but he was he was having fun with why was he on grinder uh they were trying
00:17:13.580 to just show like how you can meet people on grinder it wasn't a hookup kind of but there
00:17:17.260 was an implication there right like there was an implication that he was going to jokingly
00:17:21.400 experiment as being oh no there was never there was never an experimentation of like hey i'm going
00:17:27.220 to go hook up with this guy then why is he on grinder yeah why wouldn't he use tinder i use
00:17:30.760 grinder all the time for not i mean yes yeah absolutely i mean i when i'm when i travel
00:17:34.480 through europe grinder is a great way no no just hear me out but you're but you're gay obviously
00:17:38.440 and so it's the platform that makes sense for you why would he not use a tinder or a bumble
00:17:42.840 where there's more of an opportunity to have straight he did too he did he did all okay okay
00:17:47.220 okay cool cool cool cool okay i'm just wondering and i hate to do this um i really hate to do this
00:17:57.560 but i i i do feel a bit uh like there's a like a pile of rocks on me sort of as you know um i have
00:18:07.000 been at the center of public controversy um but i do feel like there's a magnifying glass on me
00:18:14.300 now that i don't that i am trying to get out from underneath um and again i hate to do this but
00:18:21.060 joe rogan said this on his podcast uh for three days ago after three days ago which is after
00:18:29.760 which is after um i said what i said
00:18:33.900 women are done with us man they're done i feel like they're done do you feel like that i think
00:18:41.220 it's a precarious time
00:18:43.300 a lot of chicks are probably going lesbo this week
00:18:46.140 oh
00:18:46.540 especially with Trump
00:18:48.520 I think the more days
00:18:50.760 that the government is shut down
00:18:53.160 the more women are going to go lesbian
00:18:54.500 they're going to hate men so much
00:18:56.680 because of Trump
00:18:57.400 they're just going to go gay
00:18:58.700 gay people right now are going
00:19:01.100 that's not how it works
00:19:02.660 remember what I said earlier about jokes
00:19:05.420 what's funny
00:19:07.020 not a single tweet about that
00:19:09.340 so one I'm not the media
00:19:10.980 i'm not the person that's like putting you up here to say hey uh you did this wrong but two
00:19:15.280 shame on you for trying to deflect your own actions like you're literally saying on me yeah
00:19:18.800 i mean why like why was there not a tweet about joe rogan control their other treats i don't
00:19:23.740 even know who he is i i've but like you like you're deflecting from your own actions not really
00:19:28.860 i've you just made it very clear that i'm very sorry for any implication that being gay is a
00:19:33.320 choice and i'm saying what where's where's the line drawn between like something i say and
00:19:38.960 something another person says on him too like i mean i'm i you want me to get my twitter out right
00:19:42.920 now and shame him too i'll do it no i don't because i don't believe in that i don't believe
00:19:46.620 in watching something and the very first thought that enters my brain is wow what an asshole for
00:19:54.640 attacking well for our home of me being homophobic brother i've kissed many men whether it's on film
00:20:02.500 whether it's just fucking around in the vlogs like and this is why when i'm under attack for
00:20:06.420 this whole thing i'm sitting here like do i do i tweet these pictures of me in like films kissing
00:20:10.500 dudes in acting class like what trying to like prove my gayness no that's not right then that's
00:20:15.040 weird like which is this whole thing like it it hurts so i want you to continue talking about
00:20:22.620 about this and why like because you're you're literally your first thing was shame on you
00:20:28.740 and that's not what i asked you to do to i'm saying where is that does that offend you yes
00:20:34.440 absolutely it does i mean i and i said that first thing was that that offends me too i i listen even
00:20:40.960 though he clarified that it is a joke and um gave it context absolutely i think it's i think at that
00:20:46.960 point like when you are making jokes like that it's just not acceptable i think what mike was
00:20:50.660 saying is he's trying to find a narrative okay and you you said it's not necessarily that time
00:20:55.740 that we can't joke about these things so if he's clarifying it's a joke um you know logan was
00:21:02.340 clearly not you know trying to like defame anybody so what what's a reasonable way that
00:21:09.680 we can still joke about something but not offend people because everybody's going to get offended
00:21:14.340 at something exactly and there's not a thousand page manual that i can write say hey you're going
00:21:19.040 to do this joke do this like i'm not context it's exactly it's context i think what you just said
00:21:24.080 was was an example of a bad context now i mean i believe you when you say that you're an advocate
00:21:29.180 for the lgbtq world like i'm not here to crucify you at all and i believe that um you know your
00:21:34.340 your apology is genuine and you can be a great ally i think your actions should just back that
00:21:38.180 up um but i'm not here to to crucify anyone or anything i'm just here to talk about how we can
00:21:44.400 improve you know the lgbtq representation and entertainment and and make it a better world
00:21:50.040 yeah i just just to go back really quick to the to the rogan thing i on your point of like
00:21:55.740 deflecting you know he's obviously apologized i don't think he's trying to deflect i think what
00:21:59.940 he's trying to do is bring up an example of this train that is run against him right and so and not
00:22:06.660 and not it's not even only against me but let me let me let me finish this point when when all of
00:22:12.320 this stuff broke there was a hundred thousand tweets there was big press pickup there was stuff
00:22:17.460 all over the internet everyone was talking about it and so me and logan went back and we said
00:22:21.060 like, man, this video has got to have millions of views on it. Now we went back and there was
00:22:25.860 probably 10,000 new views on it. And so what that immediately said to me was people are seeing this
00:22:33.140 headline. Logan Paul makes jokes about gays and immediately hitting retweet, retweet, retweet.
00:22:39.760 This kid cannot be trusted. This kid is. And so I think there's a, there's a combination here
00:22:46.560 of doing something that was unacceptable,
00:22:50.620 but also going out and sharing news,
00:22:55.320 sharing headlines before waiting on the most important thing,
00:22:58.540 which is him giving some sort of feedback
00:23:01.680 or clarity on what he meant
00:23:02.980 or digging in a little bit and seeing that he's kissed men
00:23:05.940 or had plenty of gay people on the show in the past
00:23:08.240 or in his vlogs
00:23:09.620 or were surrounded by gay people constantly.
00:23:12.220 So I had two people reach out to me after the show
00:23:14.260 And they said, Hey, I'm seeing these headlines right now. Like I'm, I'm kind of upset. Can you
00:23:19.320 clarify? He has a large audience, so they can't do that. But I got the ability to go and tell
00:23:24.560 those people, Hey man, like, listen, you know, me in real life, you know, I love you and I accept
00:23:28.380 you. This was a mistake where words were said interchangeably where they shouldn't have been,
00:23:34.140 but like, he feels very attacked. And I even felt it on this one where people get into this group
00:23:41.140 think in this in this mob mentality you know and so i'm just wondering does does a
00:23:49.000 poor choice of words a way i misspoke because of my ignorance on the subject
00:23:54.880 and let me say this real quick like even when i was prepping for this interview i completely said
00:23:59.380 that to other people when i was prepping for this i don't think anything you did was malicious
00:24:02.340 i just think it was ignorant i mean of course it wasn't malicious and of course it was ignorant
00:24:07.300 but does that warrant 140 000 people telling me to go kill myself i don't instead of going gay
00:24:14.140 for a month can logan paul go away forever 51 000 likes is there something i'm missing something
00:24:21.680 here well i think he didn't say kill gus what does go away forever mean to you not make video
00:24:27.980 not make i mean there are people who have said kill yourself oh yeah absolutely i mean i get
00:24:32.120 that too i mean i i agree with you that like i i as i started to research this and uh like watch
00:24:38.660 your videos and watch a lot of the twitter against you i i actually could not believe how much hatred
00:24:43.060 is towards you i don't get it um i mean i know i know that you've made mistakes and stuff but like
00:24:46.620 it that's kind of the internet bullying that goes on and it's it's terrible and uh um wasn't uh our
00:24:52.600 first lady supposed to deal with some of these issues and but like what's going on over there
00:24:57.640 help me i need your help but i mean like it's awful and i mean it's it's something that we
00:25:04.100 need to talk about is like internet bullying because people shouldn't say go kill yourself
00:25:07.280 people should be doing what i did reach out to try to have a narrative and yo thank you this is
00:25:13.020 all i wanted my manager my publicist they're sitting there for the past week and a half i'm
00:25:18.220 like please just get someone on impulsive so i can talk to them about this so we can talk and grow
00:25:26.460 and grow a conversation not just an attack wishing death upon someone to go away forever
00:25:33.100 because of a poor choice of words on a long form based 45 minute podcast which by the way is called
00:25:40.000 impulsive i'm gonna say things sometimes that just come out i don't always think about them
00:25:45.020 i'm working on it i am working on it but i've said this before i'm gonna make mistakes i if
00:25:53.500 there are a million people watching this podcast there is a zero percent chance that i don't offend
00:26:00.380 one person i'm i'm trying my best but i am uninterested in playing this game where i try
00:26:07.600 to appease everyone anymore i don't give a fuck i'm gonna be myself if you like watching my content
00:26:14.360 please do like and subscribe get your merch if you don't don't watch my fucking content you do
00:26:21.580 give you do give a fuck don't blanket statement it because you give a fuck enough to to have this
00:26:27.460 conversation because this is important for me because i am a huge proponent of the lgbtq community
00:26:32.540 huge and i always have been i i love it i love the movement and i i'm sorry i'm getting so fired
00:26:39.700 up i know y'all don't normally see me like i mean that's good to be fired up i mean and i think that
00:26:42.820 that that's that's good on you that you want i know from the back channels that we've had on this
00:26:46.640 that you are genuinely wanting to have a conversation and make this a teachable moment
00:26:50.300 And that's important. And I know that you had some issues with your consoles and couldn't do it immediately.
00:26:54.220 But that's why I'm here to have these teachable moments.
00:26:56.200 And I think that that's we're not going to be able to create a manual of these are all the gay jokes you can't say.
00:27:00.280 These are the other jokes that you can't say. We can't do that.
00:27:02.520 But what we can do is when kind of these reactions happen is have a conversation like we're having now and say, hey, this is how we can, you know,
00:27:10.380 fix this kind of narrative and talk about it and realize that we are all on the same team here and we want to be allies.
00:27:16.040 And how can we improve ourselves? Because you understand the position that you're in.
00:27:19.580 we understand the media is unfair it's been unfair to me i mean i get these tweets too i'm getting so
00:27:22.880 much hate mail half the time i'm sure i'm sure i'm gonna get some after this you absolutely will
00:27:26.700 by the way like what did you what are you thinking going on yoga paul's show and giving him a voice
00:27:30.520 like i'll show you some of this after this that i i you know i consult a lot of my uh you know
00:27:35.140 mentors like should i do this and i was everyone said no and you know what and i was like but what
00:27:39.320 made me do this was my brothers and my family members that they love you and that's the important
00:27:44.780 message that we talk about this because i'm not doing this for the people in dc or watch me on
00:27:49.280 msnbc you're seeing and i'm doing this for the people that are in high school and middle school
00:27:52.520 that love you and want to have that kind of conversation and same by the way yeah and same
00:27:57.600 because i like like i said there is nothing more beautiful than being yourself and i mean that and
00:28:03.780 if that if and if you're gay and you're you're afraid to come out of the closet like i get it
00:28:09.860 i understand but hopefully with more conversations like this in 10 years or so coming out of the
00:28:14.920 closet won't even be a thing hopefully people will come out as straight yeah that's that's i believe
00:28:19.580 how fluid sexuality is going to become which is i'm i'm thinking way ahead here yeah um and i think
00:28:26.420 it's just important for us that have this kind of like privilege to once in a while just realize
00:28:29.560 that you know as we say this kind of stuff or joke about stuff there are people that are still
00:28:32.660 struggling with this in school and like when we have bullying as being like exactly what you saw
00:28:37.260 happen to you over the last week happens to kids on the playground still and we need to make sure
00:28:41.720 that we educate our people to say hey this isn't cool and when our we see our friends do this we
00:28:46.000 say it's also not cool you you brought up a point about um internet bullying just now um about people
00:28:52.240 kind of ganging up on on anyone not just logan and i have a question for you about the current
00:29:00.300 cancel culture they call it right and and and every time he does anything wrong not even just
00:29:05.500 you know this or that he's canceled by by people on twitter canceled he's been canceled he's been
00:29:11.360 canceled more times than i can tell you we shouldn't even be on right now because i've
00:29:14.140 been cancelled so many times i was cancelled yeah i've been cancelled all the time what has
00:29:18.160 propagated or cultivated or continues to give life to this negative we're gonna end this person
00:29:26.820 cancel culture that we see on the internet what do you think is driving it and do you think that
00:29:33.020 more importantly would you denounce that from happening no matter what the offense like where
00:29:40.400 is it okay to gang up on someone yeah it's it's scary line to think about because i hate this
00:29:45.360 mob mentality that happens like and what happens sometimes is that we'll have some tweet go out
00:29:50.360 and then a whole cycle of news comes out around it without like any kind of you know information
00:29:56.060 about it and i think that that's wrong and um we need to have the due process to learn about what
00:30:00.780 actually exactly what we're doing now and have that kind of conversation um but yeah i absolutely
00:30:04.980 do not kind of support this mob mentality of uh you know immediately canceling everything let's
00:30:09.800 make these teachable moments because you know if the last year didn't kill you then or cancel you
00:30:13.640 then you're not gonna be like i'm not like i'm not gonna be canceled ever like i'm gonna be here
00:30:17.380 for a minute sorry if you if you don't like me like i'm gonna be here i'm gonna stick around
00:30:20.660 but we're gonna do better yeah but we're gonna do better absolutely every day please every
00:30:24.620 fucking day absolutely we're gonna do better and also and also like by the way tell us what
00:30:29.740 we're doing wrong but if we can do it in a different way i love that yeah is there like
00:30:35.460 a way you could just like reach out to us or like not reach out but even on twitter like
00:30:38.620 hey man like here's here's how here's how again i don't know if i don't know if the people i want
00:30:43.660 to be watching this are watching this but here's how um like okay let me paint a picture for you
00:30:48.900 imagine being a person who sees something that you don't like whether it's uh me donald trump
00:30:55.460 whatever imagine being a person um and your first instinct is to attack denounce and wish that person
00:31:04.660 goes away what kind of person are you to wish that upon another human being instead think
00:31:15.960 critically about the situation use your critical thinking skills research dive in research
00:31:21.240 investigate educate yourself on what's truly happening formulate an opinion and then voice
00:31:27.320 that like we are doing now um i think i think if there's two things people can take out of this
00:31:34.760 podcast except being gay is not a choice number one uh and and the lgbtq community is happening
00:31:41.660 and if you're not with it like get the fuck out it's happening it's a big movement and it's it's
00:31:46.460 going to grow and grow and grow until it is normalized um and number two i am praising
00:31:52.460 critical thinking skills when it comes to your opinion on social injustices presumable injustices
00:31:59.480 and on any issues by the way yeah because like this is this conversation is not only relevant to
00:32:04.700 the issue at hand here this is a massive issue within this country right now it's the sharing
00:32:10.200 of fake and sensationalized news and i don't use fake news the way trump says it okay and i'm not
00:32:14.660 going to get into my personal beliefs but whether you're conservative democrat uh a supporter of
00:32:19.740 lgbtq whatever do your research make critical statements that give people the opportunity to
00:32:26.800 learn and grow from the feedback you're giving them so not you're fucking canceled not go kill
00:32:32.700 yourself not go dot do you know how many times i've used language like that in the past 10 years
00:32:37.380 since i was a child never sky jackson tweeted this at me i don't know who that is i don't either but
00:32:44.240 she has followers eight years old it got retweets uh being gay isn't a choice being gay isn't a
00:32:49.540 phase being gay shouldn't be used for a trend in subscribers grow up logan paul and again this is
00:32:55.160 where i'm like like let we don't even have to think critically let's just think for one second
00:32:59.180 do you think for one second that saying what i said which by the way i've voiced was a mistake
00:33:06.500 and a horrible choice of words do you think that increased my subscribers at all i'm not sure it
00:33:14.000 did not that does not increase my subscribers this is a tweet that got favorites because she
00:33:20.200 wanted to be a voice for her community with no research context or any idea what it means to
00:33:26.560 gain subscribers here's my question to you is as what would you do what what do you think the
00:33:30.500 appropriate response should be because i think one of the which i've gotten by the way my version
00:33:34.500 of appropriate responses i mean like how how do you how do you expect me to tweet after watching
00:33:39.440 you on the podcast being upset for it what what actions could i do in the first say 24 hours if
00:33:45.880 you're not you and not coming on my my podcast and you want to tweet at me and voice your opinion
00:33:49.680 through the internet i would not tell me to go kill myself i would not tell me i'm doing it for
00:33:53.280 views trend or subscribers i would say logan and i've seen these by the way i've obviously just
00:33:58.500 choosing the ones that i felt uh were uh a little posted hastily um i'd say logan this is why
00:34:10.080 we find offense to this this is why our community has a problem with what you've said because
00:34:16.380 and again i'm i'm assuming here because there was an implication that being gay is a choice
00:34:23.920 yeah absolutely i think that that's definitely is that is that the core i think that that's
00:34:27.000 definitely the core of it is that like you know things like conversion therapy is a huge thing in
00:34:30.880 the lgbtq movement right now i mean it's a it's a huge topic can you can you elaborate on that
00:34:35.540 because right off the bat that sounds fuck oh absolutely it's absolutely absolutely um so in
00:34:41.200 these states parents are allowed to like say commit their uh their children to like conversion
00:34:46.180 like antidepressants yeah and say hey and there's tons of stories out there there's some great
00:34:51.160 advocates uh on this issue but like imagine being able to just put your kid in a home to say hey you
00:34:56.760 need to convert back to uh you know being straight and i mean what the fuck there's actually there's
00:35:02.740 actually a story i think it's actually the very first one in there um that talks about this person
00:35:06.720 who was made to go straight and then he got married to a woman had a child and then like you
00:35:13.300 know ended up breaking down in the military just a few years later i mean that's the kind of stuff
00:35:16.260 that happens and and that's an important topic that like i think that's where it really hit home
00:35:20.720 for a lot of people is that like that's such a big important issue right now did you say that
00:35:23.560 happening in 35 states yes it's still a lot in 35 states right now and it's being propagated by
00:35:28.420 some top officials that i won't mention oh absolutely there are people that are behind
00:35:32.280 it that are high-ranking well i mean like pence's uh you said i won't say it pence's wife uh works
00:35:39.260 at a school that you know you can't support uh being a homosexual or being gay um and i think
00:35:44.260 that that's just like that's the kind of atmosphere we live in right now especially with the political
00:35:47.460 climate climate that like it's so heated right now that you get some of this reaction and she's
00:35:52.120 getting slammed oh absolutely and and rightfully so absolutely and and so he he said one of the
00:35:57.280 ways you can respond to him when he makes a mistake on twitter or facebook or instagram or
00:36:01.060 whatever is to is to you know say this is why we were offended i i even say take a step back
00:36:07.980 one more and say this because not only does it is it the right thing to do but it gives you more
00:36:13.360 ammo if you are in the cancel culture say say logan can you clarify what you meant by this
00:36:19.240 yeah logan what did you mean by this which which that's about like surrounding yourself
00:36:23.220 with people and friends that can help you with along that way right if i mean i think that's
00:36:27.440 exactly what you're doing now and hopefully what you'll do in the future which publications did
00:36:31.680 reach out yeah in all fairness to say can you clarify what you meant by this but i felt everything
00:36:36.740 that's just been said needed to be said to answer that question and i didn't feel like a tweet or
00:36:42.000 an email would have uh got it justly got that done yeah um so as someone who you you've been
00:36:49.980 in the military receiving that kind of oppression like that that's that's not easy you have to be
00:36:57.300 tough to be doing what you're doing to be now a crusader if you will towards this movement so
00:37:02.840 as someone who's overcome that kind of hate what would you recommend to those people who do find
00:37:09.980 defense do you recommend take action instead of just hating and just sitting in in that well
00:37:17.200 definitely no one should ever say go kill yourself like that's a line that i think everyone definitely
00:37:22.420 should never cross what about go away forever a boiled down version which to me means go die
00:37:28.240 i don't think that means the same i feel the same way we also live in a country where free speech
00:37:32.460 is allowed right like that's good yeah go tweet your thing but like also like i mean i believe
00:37:36.760 cancel logan right now because i don't see the cute little dog running around
00:37:39.620 yeah where's kong can we get kong yeah yeah actually someone so cancel logan until this
00:37:45.480 yo i've been canceled so many times i've been canceled we're just we're waiting for somebody
00:37:50.260 to uncancel i'm actually i know i'm ready to come back but no wait i i i like that i like
00:37:56.600 that question what what was the yeah so i mean you're in the military of all places that's the
00:38:02.260 i mean that's got to be the worst level of hate i watched an interview of you um and uh your
00:38:09.080 interviewer asked this and he said something about air force academy cadets being sexually
00:38:15.200 assaulted and you could not report it or something yeah that's a thing it was an interview with john
00:38:21.480 ferugia who's an amazing reporter out of colorado um he's the one that broke the famous sexual
00:38:26.280 assault scandals back in i want to say 2003 um and yeah it's an angle of don't ask until that
00:38:31.120 was never covered imagine living in the world in which say a person was raped and couldn't turn
00:38:36.620 around and report it because uh like by doing so they're outing themselves um and that that exactly
00:38:42.320 happened it happened more than you can count um and that creates a a very scary culture of course
00:38:49.380 yeah and and you you obviously played a huge role in the repeal of the don't ask don't tell so for
00:38:54.660 those of our audience members who don't know um can you elaborate a bit on what it was and and
00:38:59.760 what you did to to repeal it it is actually amazing i was speaking at the air force academy
00:39:03.600 about i think two years ago and i was speaking to some english classes and uh you know i would
00:39:09.640 ask do you guys know what even don't ask don't tell is and they're like you know it's the policy
00:39:12.940 that made uh gay people stay in the closet and i was like it was it was fascinating to me that
00:39:18.380 like people didn't even know the policy so i can imagine like even your viewers don't even know
00:39:21.680 what don't ask don't tell really is don't ask don't tell was a policy passed by uh bill clinton
00:39:27.140 that was supposed to be a compromise that people wouldn't say that they're gay and people wouldn't
00:39:31.580 ask them if they were gay. And so it forced the, the gay service members to be in the closet. Now
00:39:37.540 it did lead to witch hunts. It did lead to situations we just talked about where, you know,
00:39:41.660 we couldn't report a sexual assault. It led to a very horrible time in the military. And I think
00:39:47.420 we're at nine years now it was repealed. And so now gay service members can serve openly. There's
00:39:52.180 been no problems whatsoever uh the day don't ask don't tell was actually repealed we had a hundred
00:39:56.900 people come out together in a magazine because we wanted to rip the band-aid off say hey there's no
00:40:01.800 issue here um like everything's uh business as normal and it was um and then we had the right
00:40:09.780 when Obama was leaving office he was going to allow transgender service which is still going
00:40:13.840 on right now and then Trump when he came in um went for his trans ban immediately and we're seeing
00:40:19.700 that fight right now in the courts um and that's still to be resolved and trans service members
00:40:23.580 you know right now are still deployed in iraq afghanistan still fighting at this very moment
00:40:27.880 and yet we have this climate where we're turning our backs to them and not supporting them so i
00:40:32.860 mean this this fight for uh trans service members is far from over and uh we're gonna be fighting
00:40:38.100 it for a while yeah i i agree that's that's uh that's a subject that i think there's a lot of
00:40:43.880 chiseling away at currently right now absolutely i think it will happen i think it will it's an
00:40:47.380 embarrassment when all these other western nations you know have had this for 20 years and i mean it
00:40:51.800 was the same with don't ask don't tell like we're one of the last western nations to repeal to our
00:40:55.900 to allow open service and it's an embarrassment why is why do you think that is you know i mean
00:41:01.420 i think part of it was the compromise that happened with don't ask don't tell um you know
00:41:04.580 there was missteps with the political action that happened during that time and so we kind of got
00:41:08.080 stuck with this legislation and we had to work 20 years to go through congress like that's it's a
00:41:14.900 long process to repeal a law and i think because we had don't ask don't tell it just took that long
00:41:20.020 to actually repeal it it's a process besides logan paul what is the what do you think currently is
00:41:26.280 the biggest uh threat to the gay and lesbian community besides but seriously like i'm on
00:41:34.580 your team but seriously though and outside and outside of the yeah say hi to calm hi hey fuck
00:41:42.980 you man no fuck but seriously though what is what what is because i want it because you have you
00:41:49.320 have a platform right now you have young people watching the show like you said besides you know
00:41:53.480 but i don't even know if they are bro like let's like they are people will be watching this and by
00:41:57.600 the way this is a charged subject it'll get it'll get out there beyond the trans ban and and what
00:42:02.960 we're and what we've already talked about like what do you think is the core issue that the lgbtq
00:42:08.760 community is facing right now and what can more importantly what can influencers or policy makers
00:42:14.620 do to continue to support you guys cause you said it in your hollywood reporter interview you said
00:42:20.020 at the very end we talked about taylor swift where a lot of you want to stay apolitical and you know
00:42:23.660 um i understand that completely but i think there's becoming a line where even taylor swift is
00:42:28.220 like we kind of need to say something at some point yeah and i think we're definitely getting
00:42:32.200 there when you know people are at the border wall and children are dying i think we're getting to
00:42:36.260 the point that it's it's getting there um well it is there um and so i think first you have this
00:42:41.240 problem with the administration and then i think second is just culturally right the numbers that
00:42:44.580 i talked about we're going from 54 to 49 of you know acceptance in the lgbt community with normal
00:42:51.180 americans so i think that uh that's definitely we just need to keep doing a big culture change
00:42:57.600 do you think that's do you think that's a direct result of the administration when how how long has
00:43:02.240 that trajectory been dropping just this last year so we went we went from you know 54 last year to
00:43:08.000 now 49 and i mean it's it seems like it's pretty obvious what the cause of that yes i mean i think
00:43:13.780 i mean it's that whole kind of like thing of uh you know he claims he's the most you know supportive
00:43:19.140 president to the lgbt community but like then he goes and immediately does the trans ban like he's
00:43:23.240 not a supporter right now and um i think that that's a huge threat and we need to keep talking
00:43:28.440 about it because it's just it's just gonna keep getting worse not to change the subject and go
00:43:35.140 backwards but i'm gonna do just that you brought up my hollywood reporter in an interview uh
00:43:41.980 what is it like a three-page four-page spread uh the hr did with the beard uh yeah with the beard
00:43:47.820 i had the beard at the time and uh the writer seth abrahimovich is gay openly gay he uh he dm'd
00:43:56.000 me on twitter when this was all going down he said uh why he said i personally found it funny
00:44:03.080 and this is an openly gay guy and he said he said not all gay people think the same things which i
00:44:08.460 know is obviously true um but he said the same question that i ask you asking is why is it fluid
00:44:15.160 for everyone else and not you and um i i think the people that did find a problem with what i said
00:44:22.800 we're very vocal about it and uh i want to do my best to try and clarify everything for them
00:44:30.420 but i also do want to say like there are people who are a little bit more laid back when it comes
00:44:35.500 to this stuff that it's not you per se but like seth the writer of the hollywood reporter article
00:44:41.600 like he was one of those people and he offered to come on impulsive that's why seth saw you know i
00:44:45.880 love you uh that's why i feel comfortable reading what he he said to me and i just think it's it
00:44:50.160 comes with the territory we all know that like it's you're a public figure and everything you
00:44:53.740 say is going to be scrutinized like like you said and so it's just it it's you know when these kind
00:44:58.020 of incidents come out it's just using them as a teaching moment to say hey like this is what's
00:45:01.980 going on this is the truth and putting it out there that way that's all you can do yeah i think
00:45:05.700 i think a danger i'm around education a lot and i travel to a lot of different schools and they've
00:45:10.300 said about the kind of hate that logan receives and other people in the space this is not setting
00:45:16.480 a great example to our kids in terms of making mistakes either yeah because we're really scaring
00:45:22.480 oh absolutely i mean into make not making mistakes i that's that's even the i've caught myself doing
00:45:28.020 that the last 48 hours as i was debating whether or not i was going to do this i'm like wait why
00:45:31.620 am i debating this like we should be not running away from this but actually engaging people like
00:45:37.320 this to have these conversations like it's it's it's part of the growing process it's natural i
00:45:42.480 agree i mean i mean i i've said stuff back in high school that you know like when i was in the
00:45:46.900 closet i made fun of gay people and like it's like it's like you see you're fucked up for that
00:45:51.280 yeah and i mean but like i mean like but i did that as a defense mechanism sure and like i can't
00:45:56.720 be like we can't go by like oh you said this in like seventh you know seventh grade but like that
00:46:01.200 was you know my process of coming out and yeah yeah i think i think it counter counter his point
00:46:06.200 i do this sometimes we have these little back and forth we about to do this not not not not in a
00:46:10.980 crazy way but i think i think one of the my my intuition tells me that one of the reasons why
00:46:18.340 you're upset is that we don't we can't make a judgment based on the fact that one or two or
00:46:26.740 a thousand people weren't upset by it because there's a chance and we know for a fact that
00:46:31.220 many were and so i think it's a situation where we need to be mindful of the fact that by upsetting
00:46:36.720 one even is is is problematic sometimes no it needs to be addressed yes address right one or
00:46:44.200 140 000 it needs to be addressed because right because suffering is suffering being hurt is
00:46:49.960 being hurt being offended is being offended right and this is something that i feel like i fucked up
00:46:53.780 on like i fucked up and and he also he also made a point about the the people not that found it
00:47:00.660 funny not speaking up and i think that goes back again to cancel culture and i think it's it's
00:47:06.720 everybody like you see a person stop and help an old woman across the road with her groceries
00:47:11.760 nowadays nobody's running around her shouting world star world star world star it ain't fucking
00:47:16.380 happening bro you know what's happening fights drug deals caught on tape tape you know uh um you
00:47:23.660 know like cheating spouses caught on camera we have become obsessed with negative action with
00:47:30.400 with bad things and i think so the positives unless you're following you know some vibey
00:47:38.000 you know magazine or something online you're not seeing that stuff but that's that you're seeing
00:47:43.440 the shit that's that juice bro that's dirty laundry pays the fucking bills i've said a hundred
00:47:48.860 times and so it just continues to pop up and so i think anytime we give them that kind of ammunition
00:47:53.860 they're gonna use it but um well i think it's a difference between the community of people that
00:47:59.760 when they see something they out they they they reach out and they lash out and then there's the
00:48:05.880 community of people that see something and then they reflect and i think that's the movement that
00:48:10.440 is taking place you might not see it but it is well here's the problem are reflecting here's
00:48:15.040 the problem it's a small fucking movement bro because the majority of people it's not small
00:48:19.980 it's i'll correct you with that because it's not small it's just quieter yeah because inner
00:48:24.560 inner reflection is so much quieter than saying yo for that you know it's just different so i
00:48:31.960 think like what you're saying it's important that we address this a hundred percent because we're
00:48:36.080 trying to get better we're growing but it's just disappointing you know when we're seeing
00:48:40.400 we're making progress but then you see like hey we're climbing our way out a year later
00:48:45.340 and we're seeing fox news which by the way exactly a year later perfect january right i hate you but
00:48:52.420 hate me to in january to us there's so many employees there's people around here that we're
00:48:57.840 all working together it's a team and so i think you know seeing that stuff it doesn't really affect
00:49:03.340 us at the end of the day but you know it's good to set the record if i have to be the lightning
00:49:08.180 rod of chaos and calamity in order for extreme change macro macro scale conversation i will
00:49:16.620 fucking do that attack me all you want and i will address anything that you think that i think needs
00:49:22.240 to be addressed in order for the progression of society and and one one i'm just saying i'm
00:49:30.580 fucking fired up because yo i'm here to change the fucking world true i hear the universe exactly
00:49:35.660 i mean i'm here to make sure we as humans move forward not backward and any time that i feel
00:49:43.460 like i may have done that which i feel like i may have done with this last i think that's the
00:49:48.180 important thing is realizing that do you believe that you made a mistake and and i think you said
00:49:52.760 yes you do and that you're willing to have these teachable moments to move the ball forward and i
00:49:56.640 think that's where we got to go is that like hey i think yes i think people are just getting sick
00:50:01.180 of like how many chances are we gonna give this and i'm sick of that and by the way to spencer's
00:50:05.460 point on that people people um they become scared of making mistakes and i think like you said it's
00:50:13.280 teaching this lesson that mistakes are not okay and i i challenge these people who say this is
00:50:19.000 strike number two on logan one more and you're canceled but first of all we've been canceled but
00:50:24.020 but one quick note i challenge you cancelers of the world sit down make endless 45 minute
00:50:34.500 open format conversation after conversation after vlog after conversation do it perfectly without
00:50:41.360 insulting offending or fucking up in any way and i will write you a check it will be from his
00:50:47.340 checkbook but i will fucking write it you got it y'all y'all y'all got it you could do it easy
00:50:53.500 what were you gonna say no i mean i think that that's i completely agree with you like what
00:50:57.900 example i thought of is like what if i was about to tweet that i was about to come on your show
00:51:00.940 without the context of us actually doing the show i would have had so much hate you i can almost
00:51:06.140 guarantee you would have backed out yeah i was going to tweet and and and say how excited i am
00:51:11.780 for this and i was like no i'm not gonna because you probably would have backed out which
00:51:15.460 maybe i mean i don't know you're like he's pretty courageous dude your character but i mean i flew
00:51:21.320 all the way out here at a point i probably would still come on at this point no but i am at like
00:51:25.260 you guys are doing like the sober january i thought we had like martinis out hell no bro sober vegan
00:51:29.620 which by the way i've almost broke so many times but i haven't yet stayed strong sober vegan
00:51:35.280 i had to make it through my birthday sober and vegan dude it was tricky he did it and i did it
00:51:40.820 great job mike great job mike so so do you feel do you feel like we've addressed everything that
00:51:50.320 needs to be addressed or is there something that you want to talk about i think that you've you've
00:51:54.840 you realize that you had a mistake i think it's just up to you to continue that action right like
00:51:58.540 well now i know it's very easy yeah exactly because it's because at the end of the day bro
00:52:02.020 it's just ignorance it's not again there's no malicious intent with all especially with this
00:52:06.280 and which is why i'm so comfortable talking about is because i'm very pro-gay i'm pro-progress
00:52:10.060 yeah um so i have a i have a quick question instead of instead of doing what was the original
00:52:14.940 plan for march do you have a suggestion that maybe would be more productive and could drive
00:52:19.500 some positive awareness oh this is putting you on the spot by the way if you want to wait and
00:52:23.720 yeah um but i think like i think just use this because we're obviously gonna have some press
00:52:30.800 after this um is is you know encourage your followers like follow glad and and do say hey
00:52:36.080 like here's here's what happened here's a conversation we had let's let's use this as
00:52:40.080 a teachable moment and um you can follow this organization to to do better and then uh let's
00:52:45.500 just see what happens over the next few months to to keep doing that ally if you make these mixed
00:52:49.120 steps is is reaching out to people like me to say hey how do we make this a teachable moment
00:52:53.240 and yeah and then maybe next time we can go do something more fun i mean like yeah i'm down we
00:52:59.700 do fun things sometimes go for a ride i haven't been because my fucking tonsils um i mean fortnight
00:53:06.080 is fun fortnight's i just tweeted about this i have no idea what fortnight is oh come try it
00:53:09.880 i have no idea what it is what is it like a video hold on hold on that's that's that's odd i feel
00:53:14.000 like i'm about to get murdered for that is there gonna be a cancel josh because how old are your
00:53:17.940 brothers uh the one is 21 one is 23 one just signed up to go into the army as a drone pilot
00:53:23.060 um so thank you brother for that yeah so uh i they probably know what it is but as a drone pilot
00:53:29.540 it yeah for the army yep so it'd be station vegas i don't i don't know uh i don't know where the
00:53:34.080 army is i'm only air force that's very cool okay um i think i'm i'm i'm very happy with this podcast
00:53:39.900 um and again really thank you for coming on i understand if you guys are gonna tweet hey to
