00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel, and welcome to the Independence Calendar,
00:00:14.240 episode four, Sunday, December the 28th. I appreciate you being here with the big blue
00:00:19.840 mug of coffee. I hope you had a great Christmas. Happy New Year to you. And the next time I do the
00:00:24.800 Independence Calendar, it will be 2026, which promises to be an outstanding year for the 0.99
00:00:30.500 independence movement. Now, on the way, on the Independence Calendar this week, I'll tell you
00:00:35.020 some of the events that are coming up, and I've got part of an interview I did with Mitch Sylvester,
00:00:40.700 CEO of the Alberta Prosperity Project. I spoke with him earlier this week. I've had a chance to talk
00:00:46.640 with Mitch probably seven times now, I guess, and this is the happiest I've ever seen him.
00:00:51.180 We've got word that we can move forward with the signature campaign. So I'll ask Mitch about a big
00:00:56.620 day that's coming up January 2nd, and he'll tell you how you can contribute to the independence
00:01:01.680 movement in Alberta. Now, just before I move on to the events that are coming up, I've been asking you
00:01:07.380 to send an email to me regularly at johnboltonab at gmail.com, which I set up specifically for the
00:01:14.480 independence calendar. And a lot of you have sent me things, but this week, I haven't been able to
00:01:19.740 access the account. Google sent me a message the other day, and they said they think that the email
00:01:25.900 address was set up by a bot. Now, I can assure you I am not a bot. So what I've had to do is write to
00:01:32.840 them and tell them why it's a legit email account, and I'm hoping that they will resolve this issue in
00:01:39.580 my favor within the next couple of days. So keep sending things to me. I'll let you know next week
00:01:44.840 if everything was resolved. But if you've got a picture of your house with an Alberta flag outside
00:01:49.640 of it, you're doing something for the independence movement, you've got an event coming up, you'd like
00:01:53.340 to do an interview with me, you'd like to send me a message, a video message, keep sending them to
00:01:58.680 that address, and I'll get them. I'm thinking within the next couple of days. So as far as events coming
00:02:05.660 up in the next couple of weeks, there hasn't been a lot going on, certainly because it has been
00:02:10.680 the Christmas vacation. But there are events coming up in January, and expect this calendar
00:02:16.440 to get very busy. We're looking at hundreds of events very soon. Things will kick off again on
00:02:21.240 January 6th, so more than a week from now. A couple of events on January 6th, one in Mountain View,
00:02:26.940 one in Water Valley, in Didsbury on the 7th of January, Bicycle and Edmonton on January the 8th,
00:02:33.160 Vulcan and Fort McMurray on the 10th. There is another event coming up on the 10th, I'll tell you about
00:02:37.900 in just a moment, which I will be at here in Calgary. Bentley on the 12th, Eckville on the 14th,
00:02:43.340 and Red Deer on the 15th. And we actually do have a second page of events here. One on the 16th
00:02:49.220 in James River. All these events starting at 7 o'clock. Then of course, the big event, which is
00:02:53.800 coming up on the 26th here in Calgary at the BMO Center. And as Mitch told me, they were expecting
00:02:59.420 6,000, 6,500 people here, and you should be able to sign a petition at that date as well at 7 o'clock.
00:03:06.200 Very excited about that. I will be there for sure. Now, coming up on January the 10th,
00:03:12.080 this event is also happening. I'm going to be there. This is happening at the Queensland Community
00:03:18.300 Center here in Calgary at 7 o'clock on January the 10th. I'm going to sort of be an emcee here,
00:03:24.760 sort of a moderator in a way. There's going to be a panel discussion. You'll be able to ask
00:03:29.220 questions, which is really exciting. Eva Chipiak will be there. She works with Jeff Rath.
00:03:33.980 She'll be making a presentation. Dennis Kalma, who I've told you before, who co-wrote the Value
00:03:39.700 of Freedom, which is available at the Alberta Prosperity Project website. So Dennis will be
00:03:44.540 there as well. And Corey Morgan will be there from the Western Standard and the Corey Morgan Show.
00:03:51.200 We're going to address some of the big issues at this one. And that would be treaties, pension,
00:03:56.340 being landlocked here in Alberta. And Eva will be talking about what happens the day after we vote
00:04:01.820 in favor of independence. So it's going to be pretty exciting. I hope you can be there as well.
00:04:07.040 January 10th, Queensland Community Center. Just show up. We hope to fill the room.
00:04:12.240 Now, I did speak with Mitch Sylvester earlier this week. Mitch was very excited. I'm very exciting.
00:04:17.960 2026. Just think, at this time next year, we may be a separate country.
00:04:22.640 So I talked to Mitch about what comes next, what January 2nd means,
00:04:26.360 and how you can help out when it comes to Alberta independence.
00:04:31.160 We couldn't ask for more.
00:04:33.260 No.
00:04:33.900 I mean, basically, we have to be very thankful that we're given the opportunity to do the work
00:04:38.360 and the opportunity to bring the information to Albertans and the opportunity to have all
00:04:42.660 Albertans choose on something that I think is an absolutely nonpartisan subject. I think every
00:04:48.180 Albertan will benefit from going down the path that we're proposing. I really do.
00:04:52.400 I certainly do as well. So what is January 2nd? I read that date yesterday. What's the significance
00:04:58.240 of that?
00:04:59.200 Well, January 2nd is when Elections Alberta is going to be able to start certifying or approving
00:05:04.440 our canvassers. So what we're asking Alberta Prosperity and everybody is by tomorrow morning,
00:05:10.020 we're going to have a link. We actually would like to have everybody in Alberta be a canvasser.
00:05:14.360 So what we'd like you to do is just go to our link, which is going to be on the new
00:05:20.120 Stay Free Alberta webpage is what we're going to call our campaign. And so we're going to have
00:05:27.480 that set up by tomorrow, I hope. And then we'll have a place there for you to donate money to us,
00:05:33.560 which is going to be absolutely crucial based on the new rules. So we're starting at ground zero with
00:05:38.260 nothing. So your contribution is not only going to be very much appreciated, it's going to be very
00:05:44.300 needed. And we'll have rules around that. There's rules around it. So the rules will be clear on our
00:05:50.600 website, you know, or our landing page on that particular subject. And we'll get that information
00:05:56.820 out to people. But yeah, so you know what, we have the opportunity to go out there, talk to people.
00:06:02.000 We're going to continue our town halls.
00:06:03.680 Yeah, you know, we're all over Alberta, Calgary on the 26th, I think is going to be a big kickoff
00:06:09.440 for that area. We're looking 26th of January, we're looking forward to that.
00:06:13.040 Oh, yeah.
00:06:13.520 Yes.
00:06:14.000 And we have a lot of room, there's going to be about 6500 seats there. So we're hoping to fill the hall,
00:06:20.320 and I really believe we will. So if that's the case, then we're going to, you know, take extend that
00:06:25.760 into all of the bigger communities, so that we have the opportunity to talk to a lot of people at once.
00:06:32.000 And you know what, sign them up as canvassers so that they can get our message out and, you know,
00:06:37.680 get as many people as we can signed up to this initiative.
00:06:41.040 Well, I was talking the other day, there's an event I'm going to be at on January 10th,
00:06:46.160 regarding the independence movement, it's going to be exciting, and there's so many more of those
00:06:49.600 coming up. We're talking the other day about the amount of money that might be needed for this,
00:06:53.760 because certainly the other side is going to have a campaign I'm assuming against us to try to
00:06:58.640 get people to vote in the opposite direction to what we really want here.
00:07:02.320 Can I dispel a myth here, Mitch? You're making a fortune running around the province
00:07:07.440 every night of the week, going out and talking to people, aren't you?
00:07:12.560 So, you know, the thing that people have to understand about this is that, first of all,
00:07:16.960 I'm not making a wage. APP is covering expenses, which is gas money, hotels, and meals.
00:07:23.440 That's exactly what I'm making. So I just want you to compute this. I bought a brand new truck
00:07:28.160 in March. It's got 72,000 kilometers on it. So if I'm being paid gas money and meals and expense,
00:07:35.520 are they going to factor in the depreciation on my brand new truck?
00:07:38.160 Right. Yeah.
00:07:39.280 I mean, and I mild out the one I had before it, doing the same thing with Alberta pension and never
00:07:45.520 got a nickel from that. So we did a hundred town halls with Alberta pension and never got paid.
00:07:51.760 So now, at least in the situation I'm at now, I'm getting expenses covered, which is really nice.
00:07:55.920 I appreciate that. And that's all I want. So, you know what, for me, that's fine. I'm in a position
00:08:02.400 where that's enough. But the whole thing is, is that this is not about money, except for the people
00:08:07.840 of Alberta. It's not about money for me. I mean, eventually, maybe if I get an increase in pension,
00:08:14.640 maybe that'll be the case. But right now, it's about the fact that Alberta is getting a really
00:08:20.320 raw deal. It's about the fact that we're really looking down the throat of a very dangerous enemy
00:08:27.920 here. I really believe the enemy is at the gates. I really believe that our freedoms are being
00:08:32.640 challenged. If you look at the bills that are coming in from the federal government, one after the other,
00:08:38.240 they're all nonsensical and stuff that, you know, they're proposing stuff that would never, ever,
00:08:43.680 that I would have never thought a Canadian government would ever propose. So I really
00:08:47.920 believe we have a very strong argument to show people that, hey, this isn't the Canada that you
00:08:52.800 grew up in. This isn't the Canada that I grew up in. We're not leaving Canada. Canada's leaving us.
00:08:59.360 And we believe, in my heart, I really honestly believe this, if we save Alberta, and I know we
00:09:04.160 can, then you know what, we can help the rest of Canada save themselves. And I really believe that,
00:09:09.520 you know, that may sound dramatic, but there's no drama here. This is absolutely what's happening.
00:09:13.920 If anything, we're underplaying it. We're not overplaying it. And it's, you know, I mean,
00:09:19.040 you don't have to go far. I'm not by myself by sharing this opinion. So if people, by after they attend
00:09:24.560 our town halls, don't believe that this is real, then that's the choice, right? This is a democracy.
00:09:29.440 They have a vote. We have a vote. And let's hope that once they hear what we have to say, that they'll
00:09:35.360 actually think that maybe we should, you know, err on the side of caution and vote for an independent
00:09:40.160 other. Thanks a lot to Mitch once again for the interview. I'll be sure to have him on again in
00:09:45.360 the future. I'll put a card at the end so you can click on it and watch the whole interview. Also a link in
00:09:51.040 the description. We'll be having a lot of people talking about the independence movement on the
00:09:54.800 channel over the next year, almost. And if you'd like to be part of that, if you've got an event
00:10:00.000 happening, I might interview you. Keep sending those messages to johnboltonab at gmail.com.
00:10:05.920 I should have that email issue resolved that I told you about earlier sometime in the next couple of
00:10:11.280 days. Something else I want to do here on the channel in upcoming weeks is tell you where you can sign
00:10:16.640 on the dotted line and get your signature on a petition so we can have an independence vote here
00:10:21.360 in Alberta in 2026. I appreciate you being here. Thanks so much. If you liked the video, please give
00:10:27.600 it a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for notifications, share it if you can, and I'll
00:10:32.480 see you on the next independence calendar.
