00:00:00.000 hi it's john and welcome to the channel it is 20 after 3 it is december the 16th i hope you're
00:00:09.620 having a great day today i just sat down here in my basement and i pulled out my phone i was
00:00:15.600 thinking about something and what got me thinking this way was the article that ran in the national
00:00:23.280 post that i read i think it went up yesterday but i've been thinking about it for the last 24 hours
00:00:27.480 or so and it's about danielle smith saying that she's fully prepared to put a pipeline down to
00:00:34.100 the south through alberta and across the united states over to the pacific meaning that we would
00:00:39.960 go underneath british columbia and not deal with british columbia at all so what has this got me
00:00:47.800 thinking well you know i've mentioned here on the channel many times before that um pier poliev was
00:00:56.840 mocked back during the election for saying that canada is broken over and over again
00:01:02.300 i think canada's kind of sick right now i you know i think it's beyond broken i think it's
00:01:08.080 i think it's kind of sick it's got a bad fever and it doesn't look like it's getting better anytime
00:01:14.360 soon you know when you've got when you've got a country that back in early january had all of its
00:01:24.460 premier sit down with the prime minister at that point i think it was trudeau i don't think carney
00:01:29.580 was in as of yet and they all came out of a meeting talking about team canada we're all on
00:01:36.240 team or team canada i think at that point danielle smith wasn't even at the meeting i think she'd been
00:01:43.100 at mar-a-lago and she was basically on a video call at that point but she had all the premiers coming
00:01:48.540 out talking about being team canada and we got to be on team canada because of donald trump in the
00:01:53.560 united states but that really hasn't panned out has it i've mentioned here in my channel to be
00:01:59.620 part of a team you've all got to have the same goal and we don't have many places in this country
00:02:06.720 with the same goal right now when my premier is talking about going south out of alberta and across
00:02:14.480 underneath british columbia to get to the west coast to put a pipeline in things are a little bit
00:02:21.360 awry at this point and you have to look at it from this standpoint as well what happened with
00:02:26.220 saskatchewan well scott moe says he's going to be shipping goods the same place the same way
00:02:34.000 it's like it's potash right and that's got david eby all in a tizzy out in british columbia why aren't
00:02:40.900 you dealing with me well scott doesn't want to deal with british columbia because they're not on
00:02:46.860 anybody's team they're certainly not on saskatchewan's team and they're not on alberta's
00:02:50.720 team because we're fighting and clawing to get a pipeline across british columbia in eb and the
00:02:56.320 natives they are doing everything they can do to get in the way now what's another way that it's sick
00:03:01.980 well we we certainly are on the cusp right now of a liberal majority and that's pretty frightening for
00:03:07.960 a lot of people who are canadians from my standpoint i can only see that as almost a benefit at this
00:03:15.380 point if another conservative walks across the aisle or two we have a liberal majority for four
00:03:22.000 or five years that'll push a lot of albertans over towards the independent side and we're going
00:03:26.780 going to have a referendum in 2026 hard to believe we're we're going to have a referendum in 2026 and
00:03:33.720 for those of you who don't understand what that means that means alberta is going to have a vote on
00:03:38.720 leaving canada now if there were only one province wanting to leave canada you would think that was
00:03:52.580 pretty sad to the best of my knowledge and the best of my memory the only time we've had independence
00:03:59.540 votes in this country before we had one in 1980 right rené levecq i believe was the leader of that
00:04:08.580 campaign i remember him i think at the montreal forum people standing up and applauding they didn't
00:04:13.800 even get close to leaving at that point i think about 35 or 36 percent of quebecers voted to leave at
00:04:20.200 that point but levecq there with tears in his eyes and then i remember 1995 and i remember that one quite
00:04:26.960 well i've stated here on my channel before that i got on a bus i was living in cornwall ontario at
00:04:34.160 the time about an hour from montreal and i got on a bus to go to montreal for that huge rally just before
00:04:40.560 the vote in 1995 and it was a squeaker i remember watching the votes come in and it was a percentage
00:04:47.640 like a a percentage of a percentage point back and forth all night and eventually uh quebec staying
00:04:55.580 in canada won out but if there was just one country right now wanting to leave canada you'd think that
00:05:02.860 was pretty sad but we've got three how how sick is canada that we have three provinces right now where
00:05:10.800 we have active independence groups in three of them i featured many of the leaders of the
00:05:17.680 independence movement in alberta on my channel again we're going to have an independence vote a
00:05:22.000 referendum in 2026 i interviewed brad williams the leader of the saskatchewan prosperity project there
00:05:29.440 was a growing movement there you may remember back in the spring when they did polls asking about
00:05:34.920 independence in alberta and saskatchewan saskatchewan actually had more people that wanted to leave the
00:05:39.520 country and with the parti quebecois on the rise in quebec right now there's a good chance that
00:05:48.520 they'll maybe have another independence vote in the not too distant future going back to 1980 we've
00:05:55.600 only had two votes on separation in what 45 years and we could have a number of them within the next
00:06:01.800 few and definitely one next year so how sick is canada right now and how much sicker is it likely to
00:06:10.180 get with the liberal government being in power maybe for the next four to five years because i am
00:06:16.180 predicting that that is going to happen i'm sure behind the scenes there are discussions between
00:06:22.640 some people who call themselves conservatives but they're conservatives in name only and they will walk
00:06:28.180 across the aisle and then the rest of the country is doomed this is why we need independence here in
00:06:33.100 alberta we can chart our own path we can have the bargaining power we can have lower taxes we can have
00:06:40.400 our own police force we can have our own pension and we can have the prosperity that we truly want
00:06:47.860 because i think we'll do a hell of a lot better on our own and these are all things that are good
00:06:52.640 about the alberta independence movement if you're sitting on the fence and you live in my province
00:06:57.280 you need to start thinking long and hard about how you would vote when you have an opportunity to vote
00:07:03.540 to leave or stay do you want more stagnation do you want more liberals
00:07:11.320 or do you want your independence and canada's kind of sick right now very sick
00:07:18.900 and the liberals are telling you everything is just fine
00:07:22.720 and you can't spell liberal without l i and e thank you very much for watching i just wanted to get my camera
00:07:31.140 rolling here while i was sitting downstairs in my basement if you like the video please give me a
