00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is 4.45 a.m. Wednesday, December the 17th. I hope
00:00:09.260 you're having a great start to your Wednesday morning. I am. I'm in a great mood this morning.
00:00:13.080 Merry Christmas. Hope you're having a good Christmas season so far. Here with the big
00:00:17.340 blue mug of coffee. I do appreciate you clicking on this video. And by the way, if you haven't
00:00:22.200 subscribed yet, you would give me a great Christmas present if you would just click
00:00:26.640 on the big, no, don't click on the big blue mug. Click on subscribe below. Thank you
00:00:31.580 very much. I am in a good mood today. Very good mood. You got to be careful when you get
00:00:37.340 up first thing in the morning. You know what I mean? You get up in the morning and you go
00:00:41.640 directly to your phone or you go to your tablet or you sit down behind your computer and you
00:00:46.460 start seeing what's going on in the world. And it's like walking through landmines. The
00:00:50.780 really depressing stuff can ruin your day. And you can be thinking about this stuff all
00:00:54.400 day. And I get up in the morning. First thing I do is check what's going on in the
00:00:57.960 world. I don't follow the news all the time, but I think I'm up to date on what's
00:01:01.180 happening in Canada and around the world. But I learned a long time ago, don't let
00:01:06.140 things depress me. So what I'm going to do today is I'm going to run through a few
00:01:09.200 things I think you'll find interesting today in different categories. Good, bad, and
00:01:15.220 ugly. All right. I'm not going to go on very long. Accentuate the positive here today.
00:01:20.220 Now, the last thing I'm going to show you today, the last thing, be sure to watch until
00:01:24.760 the end. I've got it in the ugly category, but you'll understand if you watch the full
00:01:29.320 clip why it's there. It will make your day. I'm not going to leave you on a sour note
00:01:35.880 today. I put this in the ugly category for a reason. You're going to understand why in
00:01:40.680 just a moment. So let's go through some of the things that I've seen today. Good, bad,
00:01:45.320 and ugly. And here's the first one. And it's interesting. It's interesting that the good
00:01:49.620 stuff is coming from Alberta again. Why? Because we're really good here. And Daniel
00:01:54.880 Smith is a good Premier. And there's this story here. Great article. You can find the
00:01:59.760 link in the description below. Some fantastic quotes from the Premier here.
00:02:04.120 Smith's ideas for a made-in-Alberta immigration system with inspiration from lefty countries.
00:02:09.360 The reason he says that is because some countries that are farther left than Canada, if you can
00:02:13.800 believe that, have better immigration systems than we have here. But it's this sentence.
00:02:18.440 The subheading here that sums this whole article up makes it so good until somebody becomes a
00:02:25.640 permanent resident and citizen. We'll treat them like tourists. As a tourist, you don't expect to
00:02:31.980 get childcare and education and healthcare and other benefits. Well done, Madam Premier. And Madam
00:02:37.880 Premier will pop up later in our list of good things. All right. So that's coming up in just a
00:02:42.640 moment. Now, let's move on to something that's bad. And there's this from APTN News. It's been 10
00:02:48.760 years since the TRC final report. And it's time to tackle denialism, says regional chief. Okay. So
00:02:55.560 let's just, it's the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It's very important that the Government
00:03:00.060 of Canada amend the criminal code to include denialism as part of hate speech. A little bit from
00:03:06.100 this video right here. I'll show you that right now. And I'll come back and tell you about a guest I've
00:03:10.840 got coming up that is going to scare the absolute bejesus out of you when it comes to your speech
00:03:15.680 here in Canada. Another solution that's coming to light came in the form of a resolution at this
00:03:21.760 year's Assembly of First Nations annual gathering earlier this month. Chiefs left the event agreeing
00:03:26.520 to press Canada to deal with Indian residential school denialism, including AFN regional chief of
00:03:31.820 British Columbia, Terry TG. I think it's really important that the government amend the criminal code
00:03:37.840 to include denialism as part of hate speech. So that's really important, especially as we've seen
00:03:44.540 the increase of denialism here in, you know, in British Columbia and elsewhere. So they want to
00:03:51.420 make it legal for you to have a differing opinion on this issue. God knows what that will mean. You'll
00:03:56.780 probably go to jail, face a huge fine. But don't forget, we already have somebody on a federal level
00:04:02.000 pushing this. Her name is Leah Ghazan from the NDP. Today, I will be reintroducing my bill to
00:04:10.020 recognize residential school denialism as a form of inciting hate. Who knows if this would actually
00:04:17.400 become a law. But as Thomas Sowell said in politics, never assume because something is insane, it will
00:04:22.380 not be done. Who knows what will happen to you if it's made a law and you go against the narrative,
00:04:28.680 likely jail time. Probably a fine, probably both. The destruction of your reputation. You should be
00:04:34.980 afraid of what's coming down the line when it comes to speech laws in this country. I booked an interview
00:04:40.480 yesterday with John Carpe, Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms, to talk about this. I'll
00:04:45.880 have that interview before Christmas. Moving on to the ugly. We've got this, and this is incredibly ugly
00:04:54.940 and becoming more common around the world. All of France is a no-go zone now. Muslim terrorism
00:05:01.880 cancels New Year's Eve in Paris. Every year, huge crowds gather in Paris at the Champs-Elysees
00:05:09.100 to ring in the New Year with fireworks and concerts. Much like the New Year's Eve parties in Times Square
00:05:14.980 in New York City, the joyous festivities are a key link in the chain of worldwide celebrations of the
00:05:20.780 year to come. No more. New Year's has been canceled in Paris. Ten years ago, Mayor Anne Hidalgo of Paris
00:05:27.800 had threatened to sue Fox News for correctly reporting there were no-go zones in Paris. Now,
00:05:33.400 Mayor Hidalgo decided that even with the 6,000 police officers that had been deployed to secure
00:05:39.720 the Paris event last year, the Champs-Elysees could not be protected against Islam. It began when
00:05:46.400 Interior Minister Laurent Nunez warned that there was a very high terrorist threat aimed at Christmas.
00:05:52.940 Can anyone tell me why we never had these things happening 20, 30 years ago? It's probably right
00:05:59.440 in front of my face, but I just can't seem to figure it out. So, that is the bad. Now, we'll move on
00:06:05.460 to something that is good. Now, you may read this headline and think this is bad, but this is good,
00:06:10.680 and I'm going to get to the good in just a moment. Skate Canada to stop hosting events in Alberta
00:06:15.880 due to sports gender law. CTV News. CTV's Rachel Aiello is on the story for us today. Okay,
00:06:23.260 Rachel, how did figure skating's governing body come to this conclusion? Yeah, hey, Sandy. So,
00:06:29.560 Skate Canada confirmed to us this afternoon that after considering a range of factors,
00:06:33.960 it's made this decision, saying in a statement that following a careful assessment of Alberta's
00:06:38.820 Fairness and Safety in Sport Act, Skate Canada has determined that we are unable to host events in
00:06:44.560 the province while maintaining our national standards for safe and inclusive sport, and says
00:06:50.160 they will continue to monitor legislative developments in the province and will reassess
00:06:55.040 hosting opportunities as circumstances evolve. Now, Sandy, key in Skate Canada's statement here
00:07:00.680 is confirming that this would not affect the ability of Alberta skaters from participating in
00:07:06.340 Skate Canada programming going forward, and the law cited as the rationale for this decision,
00:07:11.600 Sandy, of course, is one of a trio of new pieces of legislation passed by the Alberta government
00:07:16.880 targeting affecting specifically the trans community. This specific policy restricts transgender
00:07:23.220 athletes ages 12 and older from participating in female amateur sports. Now, there are no upcoming
00:07:29.800 Skate Canada events that this decision will directly impact. When they passed this law, Alberta Premier
00:07:34.880 Danielle Smith said that it was about fairness. LGBTQ2S plus community members say that it is harmful.
00:07:40.360 We've reached out to the Premier's office for comment. Sandy? Okay, Rachel, thank you so much for this.
00:07:45.880 If you just rewind the video a little bit, it's almost if the person reporting there, she was seething,
00:07:51.880 because Alberta is being so cruel to these men who want to be in women's sports. But now Skate Canada
00:07:58.120 isn't going to have any events here in Alberta, so that's bad, right? No, the good part of this is
00:08:03.640 the Premier has responded, and only the way Danielle Smith can respond.
00:08:08.280 Women and girls have the right to play competitive sports in a safe and fair environment against
00:08:14.120 other biological females. This view is held by a vast majority of Albertans and Canadians.
00:08:19.400 It is also common sense and common decency. Skate Canada's refusal to hold events in Alberta
00:08:25.000 because we choose to protect women and girls in sports is disgraceful.
00:08:29.480 We expect they will apologize and adjust their policies once they realize they are not only
00:08:34.120 compromising the fairness and safety of their athletes, but are also offside with the international
00:08:38.920 community, including the International Olympic Committee, which is moving in the same direction
00:08:43.560 as Alberta. Well done, Premier Danielle Smith, and who gives a damn if we haven't got skating events
00:08:48.920 in Alberta. Now we move on to the bad. Now you might think this is a good thing.
00:08:54.760 Your grocery prices are going to go down. How will Canada's new Grocery Code of Conduct
00:09:00.680 impact shoppers? Consumers will likely see little impact or relief from high prices when the code
00:09:06.760 goes into effect on January 1st, and grocery prices are abysmal. Set to come in effect January 1st,
00:09:13.080 what does Canada's new Grocery Code of Conduct mean to Canadians? At its heart, the Code of Conduct is a
00:09:19.800 framework that establishes set standards for how retailers are able to behave based on four
00:09:25.320 principles. Now, I would read all four of these principles for you, but as the sub-headline says,
00:09:30.440 it will have little impact on what you see. But you'll be told by the federal government
00:09:34.760 that this new Grocery Code of Conduct is going to mean lower prices for you at the grocery store,
00:09:40.920 and it will not. This is a bad story. Now, we're going to move on to the ugly. And here is the ugly
00:09:48.200 story. This might be the best police press conference in history. This stuff only happens
00:09:54.520 in Florida. Now, watch until the end, and you'll understand why I'm considering this an ugly story,
00:10:00.760 but this is really good. If you don't know who Sheriff Grady Judd is, anytime you see this guy's face pop up
00:10:08.040 on your social media, watch his videos, because they are gold. So we'll hand it over to Sheriff
00:10:14.280 Grady Judge. There's things in life you just can't believe. So you order up a prostitute, right?
00:10:23.560 This prostitute lives with his mother, by the way. He's got a massive criminal history, a 21-year
00:10:31.800 criminal history, with 31 criminal charges. So you order up a prostitute, and that's what you think
00:10:39.160 you're getting. Now, when you look at that, you go, well, that's pretty rough, but, you know,
00:10:46.520 any port in a storm. And then the next morning, when you wake up, you find out this is who it really is.
00:10:54.360 Yes. Yeah. We call that coyote ugly. You see, he's laying on your arm in bed. You go,
00:11:05.000 it was rough last night, but I've sobered up. I think I'll just chew my arm off and ease away so
00:11:13.400 I don't disturb him or wake him up. All right. So you think you're buying this, you're getting this.
00:11:19.960 He's got 31 criminal charges. And heck, if you're lucky, he doesn't kill you overnight.
00:11:25.480 I hope that left you feeling good as you head off to work today. What a great story to end on. And
00:11:32.200 now you know why I included it in the ugly category, even though that was a really good story. And I,
00:11:38.920 did you know he was going to the coyote ugly thing before he even got to it? Because that's
00:11:43.640 what I was thinking. You know, I always remember Sinatra, his famous song written by Paul Anka,
00:11:49.800 the Canadian, by the way, my way, there's a line in there says regrets. I've had a few,
00:11:55.320 but then again, too few to mention. This would be a regret you would never mention.
00:12:02.680 Thank you very much for watching this video. I hope it left you in a positive note as you do
00:12:07.960 whatever you're doing today. I've got something coming up. I think probably on Friday morning,
00:12:12.520 very Christmassy that I might ask you to respond to, and I'll do a follow-up on it,
00:12:18.600 but I think you'll really enjoy it. So hold on for that. And I've got a couple of interviews
00:12:22.040 coming up you're going to enjoy, including the one I mentioned earlier with John Carpe.
00:12:25.800 Thanks for watching. If you liked the video, please give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the
00:12:29.240 channel, ring the bell for notifications, and Merry Christmas to you.
