00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 340 a.m. Tuesday, December the 23rd. I hope you're
00:00:17.540 having a great start to your Tuesday morning. Two sleeps until Santa. I am so excited. Merry
00:00:23.540 Christmas to you with the big blue mug of coffee today, of course. Great to have you along.
00:00:30.000 And today I'm in a jolly mood. It's very chilly outside. Minus 19. I don't like the cold. Very,
00:00:35.140 very cold right now. As a matter of fact, my fossil fuel furnace kicked in a while ago to keep me from
00:00:40.700 freezing to death along with my family. Thank you, fossil fuels, for doing your job and keeping me
00:00:45.600 and my family safe and keeping the people watching this video safe today. We appreciate you.
00:00:51.540 I am in a jolly mood, but I may go off a little bit on this one because this really bugs me and
00:00:56.940 this probably bugs you as well. Now, I contend that government today doesn't do as much for you
00:01:04.080 as they do to you. And they're supposed to work for you. And when it comes to big things,
00:01:12.340 there's a lot of big things out there that are doing to you. But when it comes right down to it,
00:01:17.400 I think it's the little things that count. The little things they're doing to you. I think if a
00:01:24.120 government would ban something small and insignificant, something very petty, I think
00:01:29.100 if they would do that to you, they're capable of doing anything to you. Because the big things are
00:01:34.120 out there in the open. The small things kind of go under the radar a little bit, if you know what
00:01:38.180 I'm talking about. Now, let's talk about some of the big things. So, one of the first big things
00:01:46.300 that they're doing is EV buses. Now, federal government's all in on this, providing subsidies
00:01:53.140 to cities like Calgary that's spending, I don't know, $900 million on electric buses. If you think
00:01:58.760 you live in a city that's not using electric buses and you're kind of sheltered from this,
00:02:03.540 you're paying for this. You're paying to subsidize electric buses in Calgary and Toronto and Halifax
00:02:08.920 and Regina and all the way across the country. And this is a boondoggle. I did a video on this
00:02:13.620 about a week or so ago. It's right here. I'll put a card at the end. You can watch it.
00:02:18.440 It's just ridiculous. Because it's minus 19 in Calgary today and these buses just don't work.
00:02:23.980 And they're coming. We spent hundreds of millions of dollars on this in the city. And then there's
00:02:29.120 this, Feds to Reveal Future EV Mandate. It went away for a while. They're going to unveil this in
00:02:34.920 the new year, probably coming back. They'll just hold off on the time periods a little bit. But
00:02:39.580 they're going to do this to you. This is something the government's doing to you, not for you. You
00:02:44.540 are going to have to drive an EV eventually if this liberal government continues. It's mandatory.
00:02:50.320 My least favorite word in the English language. And then we move along to this. And this is
00:02:55.860 Black Locks. And on the screen here, if you don't know who this person is, this is Julie
00:03:01.140 DeBruzen, Environment Minister, left-wing eco-wacko. Government bending on plastic band, Environment
00:03:08.360 Minister Julie DeBruzen on Saturday served legal notice that Cabinet will again allow the manufacture
00:03:13.700 of straws and other plastic goods in Canada, but only for export to the United States. A prohibition
00:03:22.300 on export would result in economic harm, she says, basically. So they're not going to allow you to
00:03:28.680 use the straw. How long before the plastic police are at my door? Because I have this. Anytime I see
00:03:34.320 a plastic straw available in a store, I buy these things. But you as a Canadian, the nanny
00:03:40.280 state, we don't use that phrase enough anymore, is telling you that you can't use a freaking
00:03:45.440 plastic straw. We're going to talk about these a little bit more in just a moment on how ridiculous
00:03:50.120 this is, on how stupid this is, on how the green virtue signalers like Julie DeBruzen and people
00:03:57.700 think we need to ban these because they end up in the ocean. I'm going to talk about that in just a
00:04:01.320 moment. But if we had elected Pierre Polyev, we wouldn't be dealing with this right now, folks.
00:04:05.660 That conservatives will bring change. We will axe the liberal food packaging tax to save families
00:04:15.480 $400 on groceries and to save 60,000 Canadians their jobs. We will repeal the federal plastics ban,
00:04:23.960 including the ban on plastic straws, checkout bags, food containers, and cutlery, because consumers and
00:04:29.340 businesses should be free to choose what works best for them. Pierre Polyev has been on this quite a
00:04:34.540 bit. Danielle Smith here in Alberta thinks that Albertans are responsible enough to use a straw
00:04:40.060 and discard it in a responsible way. She doesn't want to nanny state Albertans to death. Neither
00:04:46.740 does Pierre Polyev. The liberals do. And once again, I'll tell you, any government
00:04:52.880 that is petty enough to ban you from using something like this and doesn't think you're
00:04:58.780 responsible enough to discard it, what else are they capable of doing to you? I know it's a small
00:05:06.060 thing, but it's the small things that count. And yeah, this is pollution if it ends up in the ocean.
00:05:13.760 I've got a solution to real pollution in just a moment. People like the liberals are always focusing
00:05:19.340 on an invisible gas and call that pollution. We could actually clean this stuff up.
00:05:26.300 I'm told that if I throw this into a garbage can or a recycling bin in Calgary,
00:05:33.260 because I'm so irresponsible, it'll end up in the ocean. How is that possible?
00:05:39.020 Last time I drove out to the west coast from Calgary, it's about a 16-hour drive.
00:05:43.980 Where does the garbage in the oceans come from? This is ourworldanddata.org. Let's go to the
00:05:52.460 pertinent information. And you probably have already looked into this because this pisses you off as well.
00:05:58.620 Asia accounts for 81% of global plastic inputs to the ocean.
00:06:04.300 The fact that a disproportionate amount of plastic pollution comes from Asia is consistent with previous
00:06:08.860 research. Earlier studies estimate its share in 2010 was 86%. Why do they throw all their garbage into
00:06:16.380 the ocean? And you can find it online. A big dump truck rolls up to a river, dumps it into the river,
00:06:23.100 it goes downstream into the ocean. Why do they do this? Because they're shithole countries.
00:06:29.180 Here's a graph for you. Asia, 81%. Africa, 7.99%. South America, 5.51%.
00:06:37.100 Oh, look, North America's in there. Let's keep Canadians and Americans from using straws.
00:06:43.820 Although the Trump administration is saying they're going to only use plastic straws now.
00:06:48.380 I think he signed something about that back in February. But let's make Canadians use paper straws
00:06:53.100 because we're responsible for 4.5% of the plastic that goes into the oceans. You know,
00:06:57.420 there's another country in North America I think is probably responsible for a large percentage of
00:07:01.740 that. It's called Mexico. Why? Because for the most part, it's a shithole country as well.
00:07:07.100 Now, how do we stop this plastic from going into the oceans? Instead of putting on pressure on
00:07:14.300 Canadians to get rid of these, why do we put pressure on the shithole countries I talked about
00:07:19.580 in Asia and other places around the world to stop putting garbage in the ocean?
00:07:25.340 It's called cleaning up pollution. It's real pollution.
00:07:29.420 And instead of putting money and effort because anytime the government's involved, it costs a lot
00:07:36.220 of money. Instead of putting money and effort into bans, why not encourage these other countries
00:07:41.820 to get the garbage out of the oceans and stop doing it? Now, back to this straw. As I said,
00:07:50.780 if I throw this in the garbage and it ends up in the ocean, there is something going on here, folks.
00:07:56.460 Because if that's the case, I throw this into a garbage bin and it ends up in the ocean,
00:08:00.700 we've got to start looking into our trash removal here in Calgary.
00:08:05.420 Or if I throw this into a recycling bin because it's plastic and it can be recycled and it ends up
00:08:10.700 in the ocean, I've got to find out why the city of Calgary is spending millions and millions and tens of
00:08:15.420 millions of dollars to have trucks that actually pollute the environment drive around every day
00:08:20.380 of the week, 365 days of year to pick this up, to throw it into the ocean.
00:08:28.060 Why does nobody ask these questions or question this nonsense?
00:08:33.020 But folks, the federal government's going to allow us to make plastic straws again,
00:08:37.660 but you as a Canadian, you haven't got the sense to use one of them. How ridiculous is that?
00:08:46.220 Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. If you liked the video, give it a thumbs up,
00:08:50.300 subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
