00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel, 348 AM, Saturday, January the 10th. I hope
00:00:08.400 you're having a great start to your Saturday morning and your weekend here with the big
00:00:12.080 blue mug of coffee. I have to be honest with you this morning. I'm always honest with you,
00:00:17.780 but I woke up even early for me. It was shortly after one o'clock. My wife was still awake.
00:00:24.080 She hadn't gone to sleep yet, and I'm awake. She goes to sleep, and I'm laying there until
00:00:29.240 about two o'clock. Shortly after two, I got up. I thought, I'm going to go downstairs,
00:00:33.300 and I'm going to make a video for the morning. I have to tell you, it's been tough this morning.
00:00:38.120 I thought about doing a video on the unemployment rate, which is up here in Canada.
00:00:43.380 That video would last about 30 seconds. Not good. Not looking good. There's a lot of people touting
00:00:48.620 a poll online right now that 80% of Canadians support Mark Carney. I saw it, and there's a
00:00:56.940 saying, I think it was Mark Quain, lies, damned lies, and statistics. I don't believe 80% of Canadians
00:01:04.160 support Mark Carney. In fact, I looked into the poll. About 32% really support Mark Carney,
00:01:10.600 which I think would be about the same amount of people that support Pierre Polyev right now.
00:01:15.080 So that statistic doesn't work. And how it lives in a world right now where another poll is out saying
00:01:20.600 61% of Canadians are really concerned about the cost of living, I don't know. Most Canadians think
00:01:26.820 that everything is going to go up in price, and I believe that as well. So what to talk about today?
00:01:33.260 Well, I remember talking to a friend of mine who was a businessman a few years ago. This is a long
00:01:38.180 time ago. You know, I was trying to find myself in the world. He says, if you really want to make
00:01:42.920 a fortune, find a product that you can make that people want and will buy, and the money will roll
00:01:47.660 in. He said, you know, you can go out and sell your time, John, and you can make a lot of money doing
00:01:52.560 that. But it's easier to have the money rolled in when you've got a good product. And I believe
00:01:58.480 that. I mean, look at Apple, for goodness sakes. You know, they make a good product, and year after
00:02:02.820 year, people buy their phones, and they're a trillion-dollar corporation. A lot of hard work
00:02:07.540 went into that, but the money keeps rolling in. I mean, you could make a living digging ditches,
00:02:13.900 but you'd grow old before your time, have a sore back, and not make a fortune. But if you were selling
00:02:18.940 the equipment to dig the ditches, you're likely to make a lot more money. And that's why I'm really
00:02:24.200 surprised at what's going on right now in this country, because over the last few days, there's
00:02:29.860 been a lot of talk after a certain event happened about a week ago. And let's go to this article here
00:02:36.020 from Danielle Smith. Now, this article is from yesterday. Alberta Premier Demands Pipeline Approval by
00:02:43.700 Fall in Wake of Venezuela Conflict Demands. Daniel Smith said her government would submit
00:02:49.520 an application for a heavy oil pipeline to Northwest British Columbia by June at the latest.
00:02:55.660 There's this here. This is a tweet from yesterday saying basically the same thing, how she had a
00:03:03.100 positive meeting with Mark Carney during which we discussed the recent events in Venezuela,
00:03:07.560 and how they underscored the necessity to greatly expedite the approval of a $1 million,
00:03:12.380 $1 million barrel per day oil pipeline to Canada's Pacific coast. There's this just from the other
00:03:19.900 day. This is from January the 5th, as she has got this article here from the Globe and Mail,
00:03:25.880 how this is a national emergency asking the same thing. There's this, pure Polyev, Carney must approve
00:03:33.380 a pipeline immediately. Venezuelan oil is coming. And even if we go farther out east, you've got Doug
00:03:40.180 Ford, Premier of Ontario. Canada can't afford to wait. We need more pipelines in every direction built by
00:03:45.680 Canadian workers using Canadian steel so we can get Canadian oil to new customers. Now, Mark Carney's out
00:03:52.860 of the country, apparently, overbegging China for business. There's an article in the National Post the
00:03:58.520 other day basically saying that Carney's overbegging our enemy for help. Carney over there with his newfound
00:04:05.460 friend, floor crosser, Michael Ma. Isn't that convenient? But Carney's over there trying to make
00:04:11.280 deals on behalf of China. Okay. Did you realize Canada runs a $60 billion trade deficit with China?
00:04:18.580 I just wanted to put that out there. But the thing I want to know about, and going back to what I said
00:04:22.860 earlier is, you know, if you have a product that people want, you can make a lot of money doing that.
00:04:27.900 There's a saying, don't work hard, work smart. And it seems like Carney running all over the world,
00:04:35.840 which he does a lot, is not working very smart. He's not around very much. I saw another article
00:04:42.800 the other day that this guy's been jetting off everywhere around the world trying to make deals,
00:04:47.280 and it's really not benefiting Canada that much. Meanwhile, we've got trillions of dollars of product
00:04:53.180 that people want, and he just doesn't want to sell it. I remember sitting out on my deck in the
00:05:00.460 summertime. Boy, I can hardly wait for summer again. One of my favorite things, going out there with my
00:05:04.980 cats. They sit out in the sun. I sit out there, read a book in the afternoon. But I remember saying
00:05:11.100 in a video I did for my back deck last summer, below my feet, where I live here in Calgary, there is
00:05:17.360 oil. Money flowing beneath my feet. If you look at a map of Alberta, they'll show you where the oil is,
00:05:24.220 and all around Alberta, everywhere, it's all oil. All that money down there, trillions of dollars,
00:05:31.100 and Mark Carney, for some reason, won't say yes. People ask me about independence. John,
00:05:41.820 why do you want independence? I've asked other people. When I was out on October 25th at the
00:05:47.040 Alberta legislature, I went up to a family, a man sitting there with his two young kids who were
00:05:52.020 probably 18, 19 years of age. If that, I asked the young lady, I said, why do you want Alberta
00:05:58.620 independence? And she said, money. Madison, so you're here with your dad today, Riker as well.
00:06:03.640 Are you just learning about the independence movement right now? Is it something you really
00:06:07.720 want to see happen? Is there a reason why? Can you tell me? Money. Money. I agree.
00:06:15.080 Alberta will enrich itself as a province, and the people here will enrich themselves as well if we
00:06:20.900 leave. Daniel Smith is on record as saying in equalization payments, Alberta sends $5,000 for
00:06:27.880 every man, woman, and child out East. What do they do with the money? They funnel it to liberal-friendly
00:06:33.680 ridings who vote liberal. Alberta, year after year, has $20 to $25 billion that is siphoned out of our
00:06:41.780 system to go to Ottawa so that it can be spent mostly in Quebec, but also in other places that
00:06:47.800 vote liberal. We have been watching this for years. $600 billion in the last 40 or 50 years that have
00:06:55.060 been taken out of this province. You don't think we might be able to do a little bit more on social
00:06:59.040 spending if those $20 to $25 billion stayed here? You don't think we'd be able to cut taxes a bit
00:07:04.140 if those $20 to $25 billion stayed here? It is $5,000 per Albertan that every single year gets
00:07:14.460 transferred out of this province for political reasons so that the Liberals can continue to
00:07:19.940 spend it in places that vote liberal. That is what is happening in the province and in the country.
00:07:25.500 Money. That's a big reason why I want Alberta independence. But the number one reason why
00:07:31.440 I want Alberta independence is because I'm tired of hearing no. Daniel Smith continues to hear no.
00:07:40.120 Oh, but she got a memorandum of understanding. It means nothing because the people on the West Coast,
00:07:45.220 David Eby, and the Aboriginal groups in the West keep saying no. And I want to be able to negotiate
00:07:50.540 to get to yes. You see, if Alberta tries to make a deal right now with another province,
00:07:57.900 we have to go through Mark Carney and Ottawa. If we want to make a deal with another country,
00:08:02.700 we have to go through Mark Carney and Ottawa. And if we leave, we don't have to do that anymore.
00:08:09.080 We can negotiate on our own and we'll have some leverage to get things done. British Columbia,
00:08:14.740 if you don't want a pipeline to the West Coast, we'll just shut down the rail lines and the roads and
00:08:19.260 you'll be cut off from Canada. We could do that. We would have that power. But right now we have to
00:08:26.580 rely on begging of Mark Carney who continues to say no. I did a video just the other day saying,
00:08:35.140 Mark Carney has a decision to make, but I don't think he'll make the right one. And the decision
00:08:39.540 is to get Alberta's oil out of the ground, but he won't do it. That's why I want Alberta independence.
00:08:46.220 That's my main reason. I want to hear the word yes. And I don't want anybody else to be able to tell us
00:08:52.980 no anymore. So I am out tonight at an event. I'm excited. I'm going to be the moderator at an
00:08:59.660 interesting event here in Calgary. I'm going to be at the Queensland Community Center in Southeast
00:09:05.640 Calgary. Dennis Kalmo will be there. I've had Dennis on the channel before. He wrote The Value of Freedom,
00:09:10.640 The Costado Plan for Alberta Independence. It's outstanding. Corey Morgan will be there,
00:09:15.480 who I admire very much. He wrote the book over there, The Sovereignty's Handbook. You can see it
00:09:19.760 behind me. Corey, a great spokesperson on behalf of the independence movement here. And Eva Chipiak
00:09:27.720 will be there. A lawyer, barrister, and a solicitor. Works with Jeff Rath. She'll be talking as well.
00:09:34.120 Short speeches, but lots of questions and answers tonight. So I'm excited about this this evening.
00:09:39.320 Also, there will be a petition there. So you can sign to get a referendum on independence here. I got in
00:09:48.240 touch with Heather. Heather is one of the organizers of the event tonight. She sent a text message out
00:09:53.160 to me. And I put this on X just a little while ago. Want to sign a petition for a referendum on
00:09:58.580 independence? There will be a table set up at the Queensland Community Center in Southeast Calgary on
00:10:03.460 Sunday from 2.30 to 5 p.m. and on January 14th from 7.30 to 9.30. And these tables are going to be set
00:10:11.320 up across the province over the next four months. And we're going to get a referendum on independence.
00:10:16.700 By the way, there have been a number of polls coming out recently saying that the number of
00:10:21.200 people who want independence in Alberta is around 17%. I call bull on that. This is a growing movement.
00:10:31.220 Keep underestimating us like you did with Brexit. Keep underestimating us like you did with Donald
00:10:36.680 Trump. And we'll slide right down the middle. And hopefully in the fall, we'll have a vote
00:10:42.820 on staying in Canada or leaving. And I believe most people will say yes to leaving. Thank you very
00:10:49.820 much. I hope you liked the video. If you liked it, give it a thumbs up. Subscribe to the channel. Ring
00:10:54.480 the bell for notifications. I will see you in the next one.
