The deal between Alberta's premier Danielle Smith and Prime Minister Mark Carney on the Alberta vs. British Columbia pipeline deal is nothing but BS, and I'm here to tell you why. Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.
00:00:00.000Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is 2.25 in the afternoon, Thursday, November
00:00:08.680the 27th. I hope you're having a great Thursday. I do have my big blue mug of coffee right
00:00:14.180now and I don't often do four videos in a day, but I had to do this video. And there's
00:00:21.300a saying, it's don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. And if you don't know what
00:00:27.840that means, it means that don't think I'm so naive that I will believe what you're trying
00:00:32.180to tell me, that I will allow you to deceive me because I feel like somebody's pissing
00:00:38.260on my leg right now and I'm being told it's raining. This deal that was signed today between
00:00:44.420the province of Alberta with my premier, Danielle Smith, and the prime minister of Canada, Mark
00:00:50.320Carney, is nothing but bullshit. I did a video before six o'clock this morning commenting
00:00:57.480on this deal that was signed after nine o'clock this morning saying it would be bullshit.
00:01:03.840And it is. I said that BC would get a veto in this, that David Eby would get in the way,
00:01:11.660that the native groups in British Columbia would get in the way. And I'm being told that's not
00:01:16.340the case. It's all been worked out and it's bullshit. Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's
00:01:22.880raining. There's too many signs from the past that tell us that this is not true, what we're
00:01:28.920being told here. Here is, God love Rebel News, Sheila Gunn-Reed, Ezra Levant there at the news
00:01:36.040conference where Danielle Smith was speaking today. Here's Sheila Gunn-Reed asking Danielle
00:01:40.560Smith about a British Columbia veto. And I'm going to put the clip that Sheila Gunn-Reed refers
00:01:47.060to in the House of Commons in this as well. Sheila Gunn-Reed with Rebel News, just staying
00:01:53.560on the topic of British Columbia, the Prime Minister has said in the House of Commons just
00:01:58.880two days ago, we believe the government of British Columbia has to agree.
00:02:03.220We believe the government of British Columbia has to agree. We believe the government of British
00:02:08.620Columbia has to agree. We believe the government of British Columbia has to agree.
00:02:12.760Now, just now, after he left the signing with you, his press release says these projects will only be built in consultation and partnership with Indigenous rights holders and British Columbia.
00:02:25.660So what is the real strength of this MOU when you have a partner who keeps giving veto to British Columbia?
00:02:33.300Well, you'll see in the agreement there's no mention of veto. I think that there obviously has to be trilateral discussions with British Columbia to find areas of common ground, and I think we will.
00:02:44.260And there's also clearly going to have to be a formal consultation process with Indigenous bands, and we're prepared to do all of that.
00:02:52.980To me, it looked like Danielle Smith was a deer in the headlights answering that question.
00:02:57.600And when I was watching her sign that agreement with Mark Carney and the Liberal Party earlier today, it seemed to me that Danielle Smith had fallen victim to some kind of Mark Carney pipeline Stockholm syndrome, almost as if she's created an emotional bond to her abuser.
00:03:16.300And Mark Carney is an abuser, a pipeline abuser, an oil and gas abuser.
00:03:22.840This is the man who has been Mr. Net Zero. This is the man who headed up an organization that tried to stop investment in oil and gas.
00:03:31.720It was called the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero. That's who this guy is.
00:03:37.160And when you get into the meat and potatoes of this agreement, and I'm going to show you a question from Ezra Vand in just a moment.
00:03:43.120It might look good on the surface, but listen to the timeline here.
00:03:48.420Listen to Ezra Levant talk about the new carbon pricing we've got in Alberta, which I never thought I'd hear again, and how long it's going to take to actually get this pipeline built.
00:03:59.280Hi, Premier Ezra Levant from Rebel News.
00:04:01.700The first deadline in the MOU, if I'm reading it right, is April, where the duty is on Alberta to jack up carbon taxes.
00:04:15.060And the last date in the MOU, if I'm reading it right, correct me if I'm not, is 2040.
00:04:20.940That's when this pipeline, you know, that's sort of the end date.
00:04:25.900In terms of building trust with the anti-oil liberals, they're asking Alberta to raise carbon taxes now for a promise of an oil pipeline years or even more than a decade in the future.
00:07:42.440Stephen Gilbo has abruptly resigned from Prime Minister Mark Carney's cabinet.
00:07:46.640And sources say it's directly tied to Ottawa's renewed push for major energy infrastructure,
00:07:52.340including the possibility of a new pipeline.
00:07:55.240Gilbo submitted his resignation only hours after Carney and Alberta signed a sweeping memorandum of understanding on energy corridors and major builds.
00:08:05.640A senior government source has confirmed the timing was no coincidence.
