00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 416 AM. It is Wednesday, the 23rd of April with the
00:00:06.680 big blue mug of coffee, five days until election day. And I think you're going to love today's
00:00:12.700 video. This is great. I had fun putting this together. Before I get to it, if you could
00:00:18.540 please subscribe to the channel, I would appreciate it. Let's get to 26,000 subscribers. So
00:00:23.860 I was thinking about this this morning. Do you realize we haven't had parliament sitting since
00:00:31.460 the 19th of December when they went on Christmas break? In fact, we probably haven't had an effective
00:00:37.300 government for a couple of months before that because the liberals refused to hand over documents
00:00:41.940 regarding the green slush fund where they were funneling millions of your tax dollars to their
00:00:47.520 friends. And if the liberals get back in, that will never be uncovered. So only one of many scandals of
00:00:53.660 the liberal government over the last nine years. At the same time, they've been milking the Donald
00:00:58.760 Trump thing to drive up their poll numbers and have done absolutely nothing to solve the problem
00:01:03.720 of tariffs with Donald Trump. It's the liberals' fault. It's all their fault. But people are going
00:01:09.840 to vote for them on Monday and have in great numbers at advanced polling. Meanwhile, my premier,
00:01:15.660 Danielle Smith, tried to be diplomatic and get this issue solved. She has been absolutely amazing.
00:01:23.660 in what she's done to try to solve the problem of tariffs from Alberta. She speaks on behalf of me
00:01:30.020 in Alberta, and she's been speaking on behalf of you in Canada. She is absolutely incredible. And
00:01:36.720 she's been warning everybody about the dangers of the Liberal Party and Mark Carney. And the clips I'm
00:01:43.760 showing you today only go back a couple of months. So I want you to sit back and enjoy Danielle Smith's
00:01:50.420 greatest hits as she warns you about Mark Carney and the Liberal Party.
00:01:55.160 Alberta will continue in its pursuit of doubling our oil and gas production to meet the growing global
00:02:00.120 demand for energy. And we will not let Ottawa stand in our way. We will not tolerate the continuous,
00:02:05.780 unconstitutional overreaches made by the federal Liberal government. Measures like the emissions cap,
00:02:10.840 the net zero electricity regs, the net zero electric vehicle mandate, and the energy industry advertising ban
00:02:16.580 must be stopped now. And make no mistake, Alberta will do whatever it takes to shield our economy from the
00:02:23.020 Liberals' growth-killing lunacy. However, if the new Prime Minister wants to resume an old fight, well, we will. We'll fight
00:02:31.060 tooth and nail. Because if we can't make these decisions and build, then it's so obvious, when it's so
00:02:36.260 obviously in the national interest, then what kind of an economic future does Canada have?
00:02:40.800 I think that the Prime Minister has made his views very clear about keeping oil and gas in the ground.
00:02:45.800 He's made his views very clear about not wanting a transparent carbon tax. He wants a hidden one.
00:02:51.440 So I don't think it does Alberta any good if we end up seeing massive increases to industrial carbon
00:02:57.700 taxes. It's been quoted many times saying he thinks that the carbon tax is too low.
00:03:01.940 So I'm going to just reserve judgment. I had a whole range of things that are problematic with the
00:03:07.200 federal government, from emissions caps to tanker bans off the West Coast, the inability to approve
00:03:12.700 pipelines, getting approvals and then having them pulled, having a convoluted regulatory process that
00:03:18.460 makes it impossible to get new pipelines built, continued threats of regulating our power grid,
00:03:23.900 continued threats of regulating our industry, continued threats of export taxes, cutting off
00:03:28.640 energy. I haven't really seen any change that would leave me to be encouraged that we're going
00:03:34.640 to have a reset on our relationship. So...
00:03:36.640 Eco-extremist former Environment Minister Stephen Gibault is still in Cabinet. But that shouldn't
00:03:42.600 surprise any of us, given that the new Prime Minister is a whole new level of climate zealot and
00:03:47.800 eco-extremist. From his decades-long push for net zero banking that sought to make it impossible for
00:03:53.880 banks to invest in oil and gas, to his promise now to massively increase carbon taxes on our industry,
00:04:00.040 make no mistake, he wants to eviscerate our oil and gas industry. It's right in his book.
00:04:05.540 I want for us to be able to build economic corridors. I want us to be able to develop all of our resources,
00:04:11.160 from oil and gas all the way through to critical minerals and beyond. But I also want Canada
00:04:16.540 to work for Alberta. And it hasn't for the last 10 years because of terrible policies by the Liberals.
00:04:21.640 Every day working Canadians have had enough of bad policies and bad ideas from Ottawa that only
00:04:28.140 serve to make us weaker and weaker and weaker. Enough with their meaningless virtue signaling,
00:04:33.980 extreme climate policies that only serve to make Canadians poorer, threaten our energy security,
00:04:40.300 kill jobs and investment across the country, and make us vulnerable to unpredictable trade winds.
00:04:46.140 These policies are not progressive. They're the very opposite. They're regressive. They take us backward,
00:04:53.580 not forward. We cannot let Canada continue to be managed into mediocrity. We must take action to
00:04:59.740 strengthen our country and create lasting prosperity for generations to come.
00:05:03.240 Look, I mean, we have to understand. The reason why tens of billions of dollars have left our country
00:05:10.680 is because of a federal regulatory process where there is no end in sight. We lost the Tech Frontier
00:05:16.120 Mine. We lost Energy East. We've lost multi-billion dollar projects because the federal government has
00:05:21.800 created such a convoluted process where there isn't a clear pathway to finishing. So I'm not going to hold out
00:05:27.720 hope that all of a sudden they're going to see the light after nine years.
00:05:31.080 You can't ride two horses at months. You've got to decide. Are you going to
00:05:34.920 repeal the policies that have killed investment in Alberta so that we can be that energy superpower,
00:05:41.560 or are you not? And so we've yet to see the answer to that question. So I'll wait and see
00:05:47.960 which horse the next prime minister is going to ride. But you either, you have to have policies in
00:05:56.920 place that will bring investment back and the policies that the current liberal government have
00:06:01.640 in place that chased it away. To the new prime minister and the Liberal Party, I have one message.
00:06:07.800 Alberta has had enough. Enough with Ottawa trampling over our provincial jurisdiction like
00:06:13.560 Canada's constitution doesn't exist. Enough with the meaningless virtue signaling climate policies
00:06:20.280 that only make Canadians poorer and threaten our energy security. Enough of their screw the West
00:06:27.000 will take the rest mentality. Enough with their soft on crime policies that let repeat offenders
00:06:33.720 roam the streets on bail. Enough with their unsafe supply, their open border policies, their censorship
00:06:40.040 laws. The list goes on and on. And what does Team Carney want me to do? They want me to abandon my post,
00:06:45.480 remain in Alberta and do absolutely nothing to defend our province. They want me to cower in the
00:06:50.440 face of Eastern media pundits and politicians who favor political grandstanding to effective diplomacy.
00:06:56.920 I will not be silent. Alberta will not be silent. We will not be pushed around and called traitors for
00:07:03.240 merely having the courage to actually do something about our nations and provinces predicament,
00:07:09.640 other than merely indulging in self-righteous tantrums. Well, I've noticed this with progressive men,
00:07:16.200 how much they talk about how much they support women until they meet a strong conservative woman.
00:07:21.320 And so this is a pretty consistent type of approach that I've seen, not only from the current prime
00:07:26.280 minister, but the former one as well. And the attitude is, sit down and shut up. Well, I don't shut up.
00:07:32.600 I make sure that Albertans know exactly how I feel about issues. And I'm going to continue advocating on
00:07:37.880 behalf of my province, whether he likes it or not. Bart Carney is, is no friend of Alberta. He,
00:07:43.160 he is the architect of the net zero banking policy and alliance, which was designed to stop funding
00:07:51.160 oil and gas projects. It was designed to stop insurance companies from, from insuring oil and gas
00:07:58.360 projects. The, the offensive agenda that we have, whether it's emissions caps or net zero electricity regs,
00:08:06.440 all generate from, from Mark Carney, who's been pushing that agenda for a long period of time. So
00:08:13.000 if you think that I would meet, um, the potential of his leadership with any enthusiasm, let me tell
00:08:18.600 you, I think, I think he'd be even worse than what we see out of, out of Justin Trudeau. The prime
00:08:23.560 minister seemed to indicate that he wanted to find a way to, to fast track the construction of new
00:08:27.880 corridors and new pipelines. And then he went and did a press conference where he said that he was not in
00:08:33.560 favor of a hard cap, which is something that he said to me as well in the meeting. But then his
00:08:38.040 environment minister said the exact opposite. Because you can't do that. You can't promise
00:08:41.800 one thing in one part of the country and another in another part of the country just to be popular
00:08:45.400 and try to sneak in to, uh, to getting elected. So if he keeps doing that, I hope that you and the
00:08:50.360 independent media keep calling him out on that. Well, I can tell you, um, President Donald Trump seems
00:08:56.440 to want the liberals to win again. He gave an interview with Laura Ingraham yesterday saying that he'd prefer for the
00:09:02.760 liberals and you have to wonder why. I think it's because the liberals have made us weak over the last
00:09:06.920 10 years and he wants to see that weakness continue. I mean, I was hoping to be able to
00:09:11.080 reset the relationship with the federal government, with the new leader, and yet they seem intent to
00:09:16.600 continue on with the same devastating policies that have essentially locked in our resources and driven
00:09:21.640 away investment for the last 10 years. The emissions cap in particular was one where, when the prime minister did an
00:09:28.520 interview in Alberta, he said that he was not in favor of hard caps. And then the very next day,
00:09:34.200 he said that the emissions cap was here to stay. And quite frankly, uh, the trust is gone with the
00:09:39.640 federal government. They've, they canceled, uh, pipelines. They've banned exports off the west coast.
00:09:46.040 They have, uh, put in a net zero power reg. They talked about an emissions cap. So if you think I'm going
00:09:51.160 to believe that they'll take $40 billion out of our economy and just trust them that it's going to come back,
00:09:57.000 I don't. Because the biggest threat to the Alberta economy has been the past 10 years of liberal
00:10:00.520 government that canceled $176 billion worth of investment. We, um, uh, continue to face threats,
00:10:07.560 whether it's the tanker ban off the west coast, Bill C-69, which has still not been passed,
00:10:12.600 net zero power regs, net zero cars, net zero buildings, methane caps, emissions caps. If they
00:10:19.000 continue doing that, it'll crush our economy. So I would say that we'd face a dual threat. Yes, we have
00:10:24.120 to deal with the tariffs, but we also equally have to deal with a federal liberal government
00:10:28.920 that has tried to crush our economy for the past 10 years. And we're just not going to let them do
00:10:32.280 that anymore. And I hope that we have a partner in the federal government who's willing to accept this
00:10:37.800 new reality. I just, I quite frankly think that any government that's going to advocate
00:10:42.840 that we stop, uh, building pipelines or block building pipelines or block a province from getting
00:10:48.200 their product to market. I would hope that Canadians wouldn't vote for that government.
00:10:52.120 She is absolutely amazing. The left's been calling her a trader. She is not a trader. She is a
00:10:58.760 patriot. She's an Alberta patriot. She's a Canadian patriot. And we need more people like Danielle Smith.
00:11:05.960 I hope you enjoyed this. I really had fun putting this together. I'm sure there are other clips out
00:11:10.680 there, but that was nine minutes of Danielle Smith's greatest hits. I hope you have a great day. If you
00:11:16.200 liked the video, please give me a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for notifications. We're
