Okay, on the night of September 20th at the City of Cornwall, it got between 70 and 100 millimeters of rain.
00:00:07.000
And sewers backed up across the city. Over 400 homes were affected by it, including ours.
00:00:14.000
And we really lucked out because we didn't lose our furniture, we didn't lose anything in our house other than what you see here.
00:00:21.000
This is the subfloor in our house, obviously up the wall. You can see what happened.
00:00:26.000
They've had to remove the wall because water is soaked into our drywall.
00:00:30.000
Here are the guys who are working on the house, great guys from Paul Davis, doing a hell of a good job in here.
00:00:35.000
But as you can see, a total mess down here. All of this will have to be replaced just because sewer is backed up.
00:00:41.000
This is the worst of the rooms. As you can see, there was a depression here and the water never really got out of here.
00:00:47.000
You can see on the wall, the mold. I was told that the plate at the bottom there,
00:00:54.000
that 2x4, 93% soaked with water. All has to be replaced.
00:01:01.000
You can see that there's a lot of mold in this room. All has to be replaced.
00:01:05.000
And this is another part of my basement. Spare room. All of this has to be replaced.
00:01:11.000
You can see some of the 2x4s in the bottom there. They're black. That mold has to be replaced.
00:01:16.000
Here's my work room. All of this has to be replaced. So quite a mess.
00:01:20.000
And again, we lucked out. We didn't get the worst of it.
00:01:23.000
Some people had raw sewage 2, 3 feet deep in their basement.
