00:02:49.640 a moment. And we'll talk a little bit about fundraising for the upcoming referendum. It's

00:02:55.320 so important. When I was asked what was the most important thing when it came to the referendum,

00:03:48.840 a little bit of anxiety that's going to come off it's a it's a 12-hour event starting at 11 o'clock

00:03:53.940 on the 18th. We've got a studio here in Calgary, which is outstanding. Most of the hosts, the

00:04:01.200 YouTubers involved here are in the Calgary area, although we do have a studio in Edmonton. My

00:04:08.440 friends at Critical Compass have got a studio up there. They're going to be running out of

00:04:12.820 Edmonton as well. We're also going to be doing a broadcast from Mexico. Our friends Nat and the guy

00:04:19.060 who are independence-minded. They escaped Canada a number of years ago, so we've got sort of a

00:04:24.640 studio in Mexico, and we're going to be broadcasting out of Paul's Pizza in Airdrie and having a great

00:04:30.540 party up there from 8 until 11 on Saturday night that you'll want to be part of. We might shut down

00:04:36.520 Airdrie. It could be that overrun with Mr. and Mrs. Albertan. More on that with a promo I put

00:08:42.120 A number of the third-party advertisers have said they're going to join that party on Saturday night from 8 to 11 at Paul's Pizza in Airdrie.

00:08:50.580 Now, here's the thing. It's exciting to hear that the independence movement is raising more money

00:08:58.380 than the other side by a long shot. Now, here's the other thing we need to understand. Third-party

00:09:04.600 advertisers on both sides have to report how much they're raising to elections Alberta.

00:09:10.800 What's happening here is that we've got political parties of all stripes in Alberta,

00:09:15.400 and they're campaigning against us. You've got conservatives federally, liberals federally,

00:09:19.680 You've got the UCP and Danielle Smith campaigning against us.

00:09:24.840 They don't have to report to Elections Alberta,

00:09:26.800 but we are doing very well when it comes to contributions from you.

00:09:31.020 This ran on, I believe, CTV earlier this week.

00:09:33.640 Good news for the independence movement. 0.70

00:09:37.060 In front of his Diamond Valley, Alberta home south of Calgary,

00:09:40.960 Ray Welsh is making his position known.

00:09:43.280 I want to be a free Albertan because I'm tired of sending all the money down east.

00:09:48.340 The Choose Alberta lawn and highway signs have been appearing all over rural Alberta

00:09:53.140 as third-party advertiser Corey Morgan spends the tens of thousands of dollars his group has raised.

00:09:59.160 We started just at the end of May, right at the beginning of June.

00:10:02.860 Honestly, I really only expected to raise a few thousand dollars and make a few hundred signs.

00:10:06.940 Since then, we're over $100,000 and have put out, well, we've got 12,000 signs that have been made.

00:10:12.800 According to numbers posted by Elections Alberta, most of the over $400,000 raised so far by third-party advertisers is for groups supporting separation.

00:10:22.900 As of July 2nd, Let Alberta Decide has raised over $200,000, pathway to independence over $82,000.

00:10:30.440 That's compared to the leading federalist group Alberta's Voice, with just $26,000 raised so far.

00:10:35.920 We're up against that. We're up against the two highest fundraising organizations are both separatists and they're out raising my organization more than 10 to 1.

00:10:44.760 Elections Alberta requires all third party advertisers submit contribution reports weekly and only Alberta residents are allowed to donate up to a maximum of $5,000 each.

00:10:55.160 These are not large donations. These are smaller donations from over 1,000 Albertans.

00:11:00.820 And it says to me that the level of discontent with Alberta's treatment within Confederation is strong.

00:11:08.780 But the province's most visible Federalist campaign, the ones behind these Forever Canadian signs,

00:11:14.820 has not yet disclosed how much money they've raised.

00:11:17.700 Elections in Alberta doesn't require a Forever Canadian to declare our fundraising

00:11:22.260 because we're not campaigning on the referendum question.

00:11:25.160 Thomas Lukasik's group says it will make its financials public as a non-profit at a later date

00:11:30.100 and will not accept funds from those outside the province.

00:11:33.900 Polling shows support for separatism in Alberta at or below 25 percent, with more than three months to go.
