Transcript

00:00:00.000 I can't wait to ask Danielle how many people she thinks in the room support Alberta Independence
00:00:07.120 and then ask the room to raise their hands if they support Alberta Independence.
00:00:10.520 Well, we waited, Jeff, and it was good.
00:00:17.260 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel.
00:00:19.400 Saturday, November the 29th.
00:00:21.300 I hope you're having a great Saturday morning.
00:00:23.600 It is 4.06 a.m.
00:00:25.360 I've got my big blue mug of coffee.
00:00:27.460 I hope you've got something to keep you warm this morning.
00:00:30.240 Mine is 16 degrees right now in Calgary, so it's a cold one.
00:00:33.860 We had snow yesterday as well.
00:00:36.500 So, the United Conservative Party Annual General Meeting is happening this weekend.
00:00:41.280 It started yesterday.
00:00:42.740 You saw the clip off the top from my program the other day with Jeff Rath.
00:00:48.020 And, you know, there's going to be some big things happening at the Annual General Meeting this weekend,
00:00:53.420 which will affect Albertans.
00:00:54.820 But what happened yesterday with Jeff Rath taking the microphone will have reverberations through this party,
00:01:02.620 and I believe through this province.
00:01:04.260 Now, I did get an email in last night.
00:01:06.460 I'm going to get to this in just a moment.
00:01:07.880 I'm going to show you the moment this happens.
00:01:09.900 I got an email in last night from a friend who works with the Alberta Prosperity Project,
00:01:14.300 and the title was,
00:01:15.440 Rath has his mic turned off.
00:01:18.020 And I'm going to play that for you in just a moment.
00:01:19.680 But this is what happened when Jeff Rath stood up with the microphone amongst 3,000 or 4,000 people in Edmonton
00:01:27.680 addressing the Premier of the province of Alberta.
00:01:30.860 Check this out, and stay tuned.
00:01:32.720 I've got two different angles for you.
00:01:34.600 Hello.
00:01:35.320 My name is Jeffrey Rath.
00:01:36.860 I'm from Queensland, Alberta.
00:01:38.040 My question is for everybody in this room.
00:01:47.280 After that so-called MOU was signed yesterday,
00:01:50.820 the ink wasn't dry on the paper,
00:01:53.360 and Mark Carney went out and gleefully announced a 600% increase
00:01:59.080 to the industrial carbon tax in Alberta.
00:02:02.140 How many of all of us think we're a free and independent Alberta?
00:02:10.440 How many of all of us favor a free and independent Alberta?
00:02:40.420 Good Girl.
00:02:44.060 Good girl.
00:02:54.860 Good girl.
00:03:05.580 Good girl.
00:03:08.140 An amazing response.
00:03:10.420 to that question with all those people standing up and applauding what Jeff said. Now, Jeff has
00:03:17.760 a huge voice. He's not the CEO of the Alberta Prosperity Project, but he knows what he wants.
00:03:25.260 He wants Alberta independence, and he knows why he wants it, and he's not afraid to say it. I'm
00:03:30.560 going to play something for you in just a moment that was also on my channel the other day that
00:03:34.560 got some mention in the Western Standard, and he's pissing off a lot of people within the United
00:03:39.600 Conservative Party. And as Jeff has said here before, as Mitch Sylvester has said here, I think
00:03:43.940 Dennis Modery has said here as well. I don't want to put words in their mouth, but I think all three
00:03:47.620 of the men from the Alberta Prosperity Project I've had on this channel have said it. A large
00:03:52.160 percentage of people in the UCP want Alberta independence. They think it's better for us to
00:03:56.880 go it alone. Now, as you've noticed, I put on my Alberta Republic hat. So after Jeff asks about this
00:04:05.320 carbon tax hike in the province of Alberta due to this memorandum of understanding
00:04:10.120 that Danielle Smith has signed with Mark Carney, the Liberal Prime Minister, he gets that standing
00:04:16.720 ovation. Now, I'm going to play you what Danielle Smith says right after that. But prior to her
00:04:23.620 answering, they shut Jeff Rath's mic off. I'm going to show you that in just a moment as well.
00:04:29.100 But I have to correct, I have to correct what Jeff said. We have always had an industrial
00:04:37.260 carbon price going back to 2007. We levy it as a provincial government. We collect it as
00:04:43.680 a provincial government. This is not money that goes to the federal government. What he
00:04:47.840 was talking about was that in Quebec, Quebec's carbon price trades for under $30. Our price
00:04:55.420 is $95. There's a differential. We have agreed to talk about having an increase in that price that
00:05:02.060 would go up to $130 over a longer period of time. So that was Danielle Smith's answer to Jeff's
00:05:07.900 question regarding carbon pricing. Now, it's pretty early in the morning. I'm sure more video is going
00:05:13.760 to pop up over the next several hours and we'll get more on what you're about to see next. Because
00:05:18.620 just prior to Danielle Smith answering, Jeff had something else to say, but his mic was silenced.
00:05:35.260 They are booing Danielle Smith, a large percentage of those people booing Danielle Smith at what is
00:05:56.320 supposed to be a celebration of the United Conservative Party at their annual general
00:06:00.220 meeting. And she's a popular premier. Conservatives in this province like Daniel Smith. I like Daniel
00:06:08.060 Smith. But this deal she signed with Mark Carney and the Liberal Party is a bad deal for Alberta, just
00:06:13.820 like Jeff Rass said there. And he said on my channel the other day before it was even released. I was
00:06:20.020 told that the devil is in the details. No, we're making a deal with the devil here. And that's what the
00:06:25.600 liberals are. They may throw us a bone every once in a while, but eventually they're going to screw us
00:06:29.660 over again. And that's normally what happens. People like myself, we want to move on. There's
00:06:36.180 going to be a reckoning here at this event. Voting goes on today. This is likely to be the next president
00:06:42.080 of the United Conservative Party. This is a guy who's really into independence. And that's who people
00:06:48.700 who are there, who signed up with the Alberta Prosperity Project, are going to be voting for today.
00:06:53.460 Now, I'd like to thank the Western Standard, Jeremy Borg here. He provided the clips that
00:06:59.840 you're seeing here. Jeremy Borg works with the Western Standard. I'd like to thank Rebel News as
00:07:03.600 well for getting that video. There's likely to be more video later today. It's pretty early in the
00:07:07.600 morning right now. I've been digging around, haven't been able to find it. But more about what happens
00:07:11.360 here, or at least happened yesterday. Here's an article in the Western Standard, Raising the Roof,
00:07:16.460 Independence Leader Rath gets standing ovation at the UCPAGM as he challenges Smith.
00:07:21.660 Jeff Rath of the Alberta Prosperity Project tore the roof off the house at the UCPAGM in Edmonton
00:07:27.820 on Friday night. There's Jeremy. Thanks again, Jeremy. Go and subscribe to the Western Standard.
00:07:33.520 Paid subscription. Go do it right now, okay? The statement was met with thunderous applause
00:07:37.720 and a standing ovation from the vast majority of the roughly 4,000 attendees. Smith responded by saying
00:07:42.980 she supported an independent Alberta within the United Canada, and that's what people booed at,
00:07:47.520 which was overwhelmingly met with boos from the crowd, right? Rath told the Western Standard after
00:07:54.060 the exchange that he thought Smith needed to hear the reception that his remarks received but didn't
00:07:58.360 think it would change her stance going on the independence debate going forward. Mitch Sylvester,
00:08:03.620 CEO of the APP, said that Rath's statement got 75% of the room. And that's the number we've been
00:08:09.020 hearing of the people within the United Conservative Party that are pro-independence. I've been saying it
00:08:14.340 on the news for the last two weeks now. Independence is alive and well. This is not going away.
00:08:21.260 Here's an article from the other day. This is the one that happened, and they actually mentioned my
00:08:27.020 channel here. Advocates say Alberta independence sentiment remains strong despite Kearney-Smith
00:08:31.320 energy agreement. If you go down here, it says, speaking to John Bolton on his podcast on Thursday,
00:08:37.180 Rath criticized the federal government for leaving the project contingent on approvals
00:08:41.260 from British Columbia and BC First Nations. This is prior to the signing of that memorandum of
00:08:46.500 understanding. We don't have a hard promise of a pipeline. It's subject to the wishes of BC and BC
00:08:51.420 First Nations, Rath said. Rath also questioned the broader political strategy, claiming that Alberta's
00:08:56.680 commitments to decarbonization and net zero initiatives are being imposed without reciprocal
00:09:01.720 federal guarantees. And I heard that a number of people within the United Conservative Party were
00:09:06.920 really pissed with Rath when he said the following, this has made Danielle look like a putz.
00:09:12.980 So yeah, so he basically refers to it as a meaningless, his exact words were meaningless
00:09:18.580 public relations ploy, right? And then, you know, and then Kearney himself basically says,
00:09:24.860 oh, well, you know, the MOU creates necessary conditions, but not sufficient conditions,
00:09:30.400 you know, blah, blah, blah, because the government of British Columbia and the BC First Nations
00:09:34.620 still have to agree. So he's basically saying they have a veto, right? So that whole thing with Kearney,
00:09:40.080 it almost reminded me of the old Mackenzie King story when they tried to pin him down on conscription.
00:09:44.920 And he said, you know, conscription of necessary, but not necessarily conscription, right? It was just more
00:09:50.560 liberal gobbledygook and doublespeak and whatever, but it's made Danielle look like a putz. You know,
00:09:56.700 now she has to put on a nice face tomorrow and she's probably going to, we'll see if she's going
00:10:00.120 to wear a little, you know, Canada flag costume, little red blazer and a white shirt, right? Dress up
00:10:05.100 like a Canada flag to address this, to announce this MOU, right? And everybody's already said that
00:10:11.980 it's a joke. And then keep in mind, so vague promises from the liberals that will never come true,
00:10:17.860 but hard promises from Alberta to spend billions on Pathways Alliance, carbon sucking machines,
00:10:24.100 decarbonizing Alberta oil, screwing our oil patch left, right, and center with this stupid net zero
00:10:29.940 bullshit. Sorry, you know, I'm going to speak oil patch now, right? Net zero bullshit that Danielle's
00:10:35.420 gobbling up with a fork and spoon because little her boyfriend, Mark, is serving it to her on a plate
00:10:40.460 and we don't have a hard promise of a pipeline. The United Conservative Party did not want this issue
00:10:46.140 discussed at their annual general meeting this weekend. They tried to quash it, but the cat's out of
00:10:52.500 the bag and Jeff Rath opened the bag and it was filled with cats. This is what everybody's talking
00:10:57.640 about. Article, Edmonton Sun, free and independent Alberta question draws loud applause at UCP's annual
00:11:03.220 general meeting. Talking about Jeff with the Alberta Prosperity Project. Smith, this is the next story here.
00:11:09.860 Smith defends federal MOU at UCP AGM calls carbon pricing agreement a win for Alberta. That's what
00:11:16.620 she said after Jeff Rath brought up the question. Even the National Post has got an article on this.
00:11:21.720 They're concerned, and I think I am as well, about a fracturing of the party allowing the NDP under
00:11:27.480 Nahed Nenshi, who is the leader of the NDP here in Alberta, to get right down the middle
00:11:31.360 and win the next election. But the best way to maybe end all of this, I guess you could call it
00:11:40.880 controversy, is to have a vote. Put it behind us one way or the other, Madam Premier.
00:11:47.720 We have a referendum, we vote to leave, and you don't have to worry about it anymore.
00:11:53.560 If we vote not to leave, you don't have to worry about it anymore. And two Octobers from now,
00:11:59.460 you can go into an election and say, it's all in the past, and it won't be used as ammunition
00:12:05.180 against you. I think that's a possibility. But wow, what a great start to the AGM. Thanks, Jeff.
00:12:11.200 Thanks for being on the channel. Thanks for making the news. It certainly keeps things interesting
00:12:16.120 here in Alberta. And there's never a dry moment in Alberta when it comes to politics.
00:12:21.200 Thanks for watching. I do appreciate it. If you like the video, give it a thumbs up,
00:12:24.340 subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
