Hi there, it's John and welcome to the channel. Great to have you along today. It is Friday,
00:00:04.640
January 3rd, 4.59am with the big blue mug of coffee this morning. And I feel like I'm living
00:00:10.320
in bizarro world this morning. I woke up thinking about what I would chat about today on this
00:00:16.700
channel and I thought I'm going to do a video on Pierre Polyev. And I'm going to do a video
00:00:22.320
and I'm going to call it Polyev or Pierre Polyev is a Beast. And that's why you clicked on this
00:00:27.860
today. And that's what I've called this video. So what do I do? I get up to feed my cats. I open up
00:00:33.020
my YouTube channel. And the very first post on my YouTube channel today, here it is on the screen,
00:00:38.640
is an interview that Jordan Peterson has done with Pierre Polyev. An hour and 41 minutes. And I've
00:00:44.460
watched about the first 15 of it. I'm going to watch the rest of it today. And I thought, wow,
00:00:47.640
that's kind of odd. So I come down to my office here in the basement, open up X on my computer.
00:00:52.360
The very first post I see this morning is Elon Musk commenting on Jordan Peterson's interview
00:00:58.400
with Pierre Polyev. Now, why do I say Polyev is a Beast? Well, because I think this man has had a
00:01:04.200
mission since the first time he was elected back in 2004. And he has been unrelenting when it comes to
00:01:12.720
running for Prime Minister. Let me show you right here. I got this sign at Spruce Meadows. Now,
00:01:18.900
Spruce Meadows is an equestrian center here in Southern Calgary. As a matter of fact,
00:01:24.920
as the crow flies, it's less than 10 minutes from where I'm sitting right now. And back in April of
00:01:29.680
2022, Pierre Polyev came to town. And at that point, he was not the leader of the opposition. Here's some
00:01:35.020
pictures, okay. And a video of what happened at Spruce Meadows that day. And he was running for the
00:01:41.320
leader of the Conservative Party at the time. And it was unreal. This is a huge building. And it is
00:01:48.880
filled to capacity. It was a traffic jam, getting in and out of Spruce Meadows. And people really,
00:01:54.740
really like Pierre Polyev. And they like his message. So when I started watching the Peterson
00:01:59.780
video this morning, the first question that Peterson asked Polyev is about what he's been
00:02:10.560
I'd like to hear about your day-to-day schedule and your week-to-week schedule. Like,
00:02:16.700
Basically, we have two parts to my professional life. It's very bifurcated. There's the Parliament
00:02:23.320
Hillside, which is, you know, early morning meeting with my leadership team, House leader,
00:02:28.160
deputy leader, whip, etc. to plan out the day, the battle plan for our parliamentary committee's
00:02:35.960
question period, etc. That is punctuated by one weekly caucus meeting. And just the daily prosecution
00:02:44.060
of the government, which is the quintessential role of an opposition leader. And then the other part
00:02:49.260
to my life is touring. I asked my assistant today how many events we had done over the last year. And
00:02:57.120
he said it was exactly 600. I mean, a few weeks ago, it was 570-something. So we've done 600 events.
00:03:05.260
So in addition to being the leader of the opposition, the leader of the Conservative Party,
00:03:10.860
holding the government to account, doing his regular day job in Ottawa, having a family. He's
00:03:15.460
got a wife and kids, after all. The guy has done 600 things in a year. There's only 365 days in a year.
00:03:21.180
So you have to wonder when the guy sleeps. The man is an absolute beast. And I think he's had this
00:03:26.840
plan since he was first elected back in 2004. You have to understand, he's been around for 20 years.
00:03:32.640
A few years ago, he had an opportunity to run for the leadership of the party. But it wasn't quite
00:03:37.560
time for him because he had a young family. And he wanted to wait a little bit longer. And now is
00:03:43.140
the time. I first met Pierre Polyev at least, I think, 15 years ago. And please excuse me if I've
00:03:49.760
told this story before. But I used to have Guy Lozon into my studio in Cornwall. I was a radio
00:03:55.400
announcer. And I did a lot of interviews. Now, Guy was a Conservative and was the MP for Stormont,
00:04:01.500
Dundas, and South Glengarry. Now, Cornwall is an hour from Ottawa. And Guy was very often in my
00:04:07.160
studio because he had a riding that was close to Ottawa. And one day, he brought a young man in to
00:04:12.420
my studio and introduced me to him. And his name was Pierre Polyev. He said, John, this is Pierre Polyev,
00:04:17.980
future Prime Minister of Canada. So I think this has been Polyev's plan since the beginning. And he is
00:04:23.480
outworking Trudeau and Singh in a very big way. Not only that, I think he's a man of his time.
00:04:30.720
I look at what Trump did during his election campaign. And he did unusual things in order
00:04:35.880
to get people to hear his message and vote for him. And I think of Joe Rogan. He went on Joe Rogan's
00:04:42.360
show unscripted for, what, three hours. Harris wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole. And that
00:04:47.860
drew people into Trump. Because he had a good team working with him. And I think Polyev has
00:04:52.560
got a good team working with him as well. I don't know if you saw Wackos the other day,
00:04:56.140
the video. What is it? 14 minutes long. Incredibly entertaining. Very interesting. I mean, he's done
00:05:01.860
long form documentaries, 14, 15 minute videos on housing and economics that have hundreds of
00:05:10.940
thousands, if not millions of views. And he's made them entertaining. So this guy is an absolute
00:05:16.160
beast. And not only that, he's getting international recognition. I mean, I can go back to the Apple
00:05:22.020
video where he's standing there munching an Apple while he's being asked stupid questions by a left-wing
00:05:29.400
reporter. And, you know, you watch the video and you think, this has had to be scripted. This can't be
00:05:35.740
actually happening in real time. But it was an actual, authentic video that got people talking about
00:05:42.240
Pierre Polyev. Ask somebody in the United States who Stephen Harper is, they would have no idea.
00:05:47.600
But I'll bet some of them know Pierre Polyev. I mean, he even got recognition on Joe Rogan's show
00:05:53.040
because of that video. He's eating an apple. And he's talking to this reporter. And the reporter
00:05:58.980
keeps asking him really stupid questions. A lot of people would say that you're simply taking a page
00:06:04.400
out of Donald Trump's book. But what are you talking about? What page? What page? Can you give me a page?
00:06:08.860
So we're living in unusual times right now. If you're a conservative in Canada, you're seeing
00:06:13.400
something quite extraordinary. You're seeing a guy who is just relentless on the campaign trail and
00:06:21.060
really wants to do the job for you. You know, I remember talking to a friend of mine a number of
00:06:25.760
years ago. He worked for a senior minister in the Harper government. And we were talking about the
00:06:31.960
upcoming election. And he had a prediction that the conservatives were going to lose. And I said,
00:06:36.380
why is that? He said, John, because what happens is parties that are not in power want to get into
00:06:44.060
power so badly, they work and work and work. And when they finally get the job, they work very hard
00:06:50.380
for a while. And then they become complacent. I think the liberals are that way. I don't think
00:06:56.760
they've done a very good job for a country. I think Trudeau has been a disaster for Canada.
00:07:00.960
But they're just complacent. They really just don't care anymore. And I don't think they care
00:07:06.640
about the people who live in this country and how they're harming people. I think Pierre Poliev
00:07:12.480
really does. I think he's a good person, a good man. And I think we could be on the cusp of one of
00:07:20.360
the biggest wipeouts in Canadian history. 29% lead right now in the polls. Liberals at 16%.
00:07:28.300
What are you thinking about liberal and NDP voters right now? Why are you not on the conservative
00:07:34.080
train? You should be because good times are coming to this country. And you need to get involved and
00:07:40.540
be part of it. I think Pierre Poliev is an absolute beast. I think we're lucky to have somebody like
00:07:45.820
him right now. And let me put it to you this way. The last two elections, I voted for the People's Party
00:07:51.040
of Canada. Because I just didn't like the leaders of the Conservative Party. I did not like Aaron O'Toole.
00:07:57.840
And what I really hated about Aaron O'Toole was his stance on carbon taxes and global warming.
00:08:02.560
It drove me crazy as a conservative. Pierre Poliev speaks for me. And he's speaking for millions in
00:08:08.400
Canada. He's an absolute beast. And I'm glad we've got him. Thanks for watching. See you in the next one.
