Summary
Trump is Canada's greatest economic ally and I stand by it. I'm not here to hurt anyone, I'm here to help and I'm proud to have him as a guest on the show. I think I said 4 months ago that Trump was the best economic ally Canada has ever had.

Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. Great to have you along today. Monday, June the 16th,
00:00:04.720
5.48 a.m. I've got my big blue mug of coffee. Hope you're having a great start to your week.
00:00:11.380
And just before I get into my video today, I wanted to show you I've changed the picture on
00:00:17.360
the wall. You may not have been here yesterday. I have a big blow up of this album cover that was
00:00:21.820
on the wall over there. Some people questioned whether I was a nice person for having King
00:00:27.160
Crimson's album cover up there. That's Billy Joel's River of Dreams. I would like to wish best wishes
00:00:32.200
to Billy, who's my favorite artist, who is not in good health right now. But you can't be offended
00:00:36.940
by that. There's even people under a tree on that making love. I think it's Adam and Eve. Okay, so
00:00:43.220
I hope you like that. Let me know what you think in the comments. So today I wanted to welcome
00:00:48.620
President Trump to Alberta. Mr. President, it's so good to have you here. Thanks for coming to my
00:00:55.040
neck of the woods, Kananaskis country, just outside Calgary. I ride my bike there often.
00:01:00.680
I ride from Kananaskis Village, where the G7 is being held, all the way up to Highwood Pass,
00:01:06.560
which is the highest road crossing here in Canada. 2,206 meters, 7,239 feet above sea level.
00:01:15.180
I know it well. I've taken pictures at the sign at the top of Highwood Pass many times. Mr. President,
00:01:20.560
great to have you here. Now, back on January 30th, I did a video called Trump is Canada's
00:01:28.180
greatest economic ally. And that was before I had 32,000 plus of subscribers here. It's got less
00:01:35.020
than 4,000 views. You may want to go back and watch it. It's prior to the leadership campaign
00:01:40.020
with Carney winning and the election and whatnot. But I think I was rather prescient in that video.
00:01:46.460
And I think a lot of people didn't click on the video because it had this picture on the front.
00:01:52.600
But I said this in that video and I stand by it.
00:01:56.860
Premiers out east are now calling for previously banned pipelines to be approved immediately.
00:02:01.800
Aboriginal groups who oppose pipelines out in the west now saying that they've changed their mind.
00:02:06.940
They're afraid because of Trump tariffs. The threat of Trump tariffs now has many Canadian
00:02:12.100
leaders realizing they've been rather short-sighted by not taking in all of the above attitude when
00:02:17.740
it comes to talking about energy here in this country. Perhaps banning pipelines and passing
00:02:22.580
laws to keep oil from getting to Tidewater wasn't the smartest plan after all. Canada now realizes it
00:02:29.280
is vulnerable to its biggest trading partner. And that's because of Donald Trump.
00:02:34.440
I stand by what I said four months ago. Donald Trump revealed a lot about this country.
00:02:39.660
And he's doing it again in another way, which I'll get to in just a moment.
00:02:44.060
You know, he's like an ultraviolet light that reveals things that are hidden beneath the surface.
00:02:48.920
You know, the dirty things. And now there are those of you who are saying I'm being an a-hole,
00:02:54.460
but Trump is hurting people, John, with the tariffs. I understand that. I'm not unsympathetic
00:03:00.420
to people losing their jobs or it having an effect on the economy. I understand that. I'm also not
00:03:06.080
forgetting the joke that drove millions of Canadians crazy, crazy enough to vote for the liberals who
00:03:13.880
abused them for 10 years. But Trump lit a fire under Canada when he was elected in November,
00:03:19.120
started talking about tariffs. And when he threw out that joke about the 51st state
00:03:23.740
to Justin Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago. You see, the liberals all of a sudden realized that maybe carbon
00:03:29.060
taxes weren't a good idea. And they got rid of the consumer carbon tax, at least. Pipelines were
00:03:35.300
being discussed as essential to Canada's national interest. Interprovincial trade barriers, bad.
00:03:40.860
They've got to be removed. All of the things the liberals created, high taxes, the housing crisis,
00:03:46.480
drugs, border deficiencies, high immigration levels, many other things were now being discussed
00:03:51.860
as things that needed to be addressed. Donald Trump shed a light on all of these problems,
00:03:58.360
along with another guy who should have been elected on April the 28th. Team Canada promised
00:04:04.020
a new way. Trump was vilified, mocked, insulted. Instead of talking to him, we huffed and puffed.
00:04:10.160
Some politicians took advantage of that and got re-elected. Others installed as leader of a party
00:04:15.560
and voted in by the elbows-up crowd. These things Donald Trump did. Only one leader chose diplomacy,
00:04:21.600
she's being vilified to this day for doing the right thing. That would be Danielle Smith,
00:04:26.560
who did the right thing when she welcomed Donald Trump to Alberta when he stepped off Air Force One.
00:04:32.760
Well done, Madam Premier. But now Trump has done something else. He shed that light on those same
00:04:39.720
people who a few sure months ago were claiming they were different, that they had seen the light.
00:04:45.540
You see, they haven't changed at all. Suddenly, the national interest isn't quite so important.
00:04:50.680
Consensus is needed before anything can get done. Team Canada members are now balking at pipelines.
00:04:57.700
The national interest now falls to the same ideology that got us into this situation in the first place.
00:05:05.440
Trump also stoked a fire here in Alberta. Now, I was an independent-minded Albertan before Carney got
00:05:12.800
elected back in late April. But plenty of Albertans now realize they want to be free from Canada,
00:05:19.040
from the Liberals, and from the people who voted for them for the fourth straight time.
00:05:24.560
If that's what you want, Eastern Canada, all the more power to you. We can still be friends,
00:05:29.900
but Trump made us realize you let your heart get ahead of your head.
00:05:35.420
Trump may be unpredictable, but he made many of us sure Canada hasn't changed at all. So welcome,
00:05:43.920
President Trump, to Alberta. It's great to have you here. Thank you very much for watching. I do
00:05:50.580
appreciate it. If you like the video, please give it a thumbs up. It helps out in a big way.
