00:00:59.740 the National Post. Liberals to pass major projects bill this week with conservative report. Freeland

00:01:06.960 thanked Husakos for recognizing and highlighting that conservatives are supporting this legislation.

00:01:12.760 Of course, Carney's talking about big projects being built, fast-tracking things getting done

00:01:17.340 in this country. So, I read a little bit about this article. Conservatives will be supporting

00:01:21.260 the Liberal government's internal trade and major projects bill that is expected to be passed before

00:01:26.320 Canada Day revealed Leo Husakos, the leader of the opposition in the Senate. Husakos confirmed the

00:01:32.680 news as he was questioning Minister of Transport and Internal Trade, Chrystia Freeland, during a

00:01:37.600 pre-study of the bill on Monday afternoon. So, they're going to fast-track this through. The NDPs

00:01:43.060 against this. The Bloc Québécois are putting up red flags about this as well, but the conservatives

00:01:47.020 seem to be supporting this bill. Now, if you read down here a little bit farther and you get down to

00:01:53.000 this point right here where they talk about Canadian Identity Minister, whatever the hell that is,

00:01:59.240 Stephen Giebel, a fervent environmentalist, sought to minimize the reach of C5. He said,

00:02:04.960 most major projects do not trigger federal impact assessments. So, the bill would only apply to a very

00:02:10.440 small number of projects. And then he said this, I think that as we move forward, we will see that the

00:02:15.700 type of projects that are being proposed are projects that we want in terms of being able to

00:02:20.700 achieve our 2030 targets. And that's greenhouse gases when it comes to emissions reductions, he said in an

00:02:27.360 unrelated announcement. So, this put up a red flag for me because I don't believe that Carney is going

00:02:32.200 to be building many pipelines in this country and they're going to go all in for green. So, I thought

00:02:37.320 the conservatives are going to support this. And I typed this out for myself last night into notes here

00:02:44.100 on my computer. Liberals will cloak this in Canada would become an economic superpower. And if the 0.70

00:02:50.340 conservatives don't support it, they'll be called anti-Canada. The elbows up people are loving this.

00:02:55.500 We should be scared. Because I thought that this would give liberals just wide-ranging power in the

00:03:01.220 government to do pretty much anything they want. I wake up this morning and I see this article. By the

00:03:06.200 way, links to both of these articles in the description below. Read them both, particularly the second one,

00:03:11.380 because this is frightening. But I'm going to read a little bit of it for you right now. And you need

00:03:15.480 to send this information to your MP. If your MP is a liberal, they got voted by the elbows up crowd.

00:03:22.880 The elbows up people are loving this. And they're not going to do anything about this. As I say,

00:03:27.360 liberals are emotional. Conservatives are logical. You're a logical person and you're going to get

00:03:32.220 this. Jamie Sarkinak, Mark Carney is demanding power to suspend all federal laws. What will he use it for?

00:03:39.300 Federal fast-tracking bill would allow cabinet to exempt favored companies from any federal law,

00:03:45.400 opening a massive door to corruption. Just a bit of this article, Mark Carney's election platform did

00:03:50.740 not include giving himself the power to suspend the entirety of federal law and, by extension,

00:03:56.860 democracy. But that's what he aims to do with Bill C-5, which he hopes to ram through by Canada Day.

00:04:03.180 That's less than two weeks away. Conservatives astonishingly haven't ruled out helping the

00:04:07.420 prime minister on this front, which is a royal shame since they're our last line of defense.

00:04:12.800 Introduced to the House of Commons on June 6th, the bill would create a Building Canada Act to fast

00:04:18.360 track any project the feds consider to be in the national interest. The act would do this by allowing

00:04:24.700 the liberal government to completely bypass parliamentary scrutiny. Here's where it gets

00:04:29.540 very scary. The act would give cabinet the power to add any project it likes to a list of national

00:04:34.940 interest projects by issuing an order in council. Cabinet would also have the power to make a list

00:04:40.980 of federal laws that can be suspended at any time with the stroke of a pen, with respect to any

00:04:47.800 designated national interest project. To exempt any designated projects from any number of suspendable

00:04:53.860 laws, the feds would simply need to write a regulation specifying which laws no longer apply to which

00:04:59.420 projects. And it would be so. Listen to this. For example, the Building Canada Act would allow Carney

00:05:05.920 and his team to designate all work by his forthcoming home construction agency as a national interest

00:05:12.320 project and shield all of its business from conflict of interest laws, from transparency rules set out in

00:05:19.320 the Access to Information Act, from the scope of the Auditor General, from federal taxes via the Income Tax Act,

00:05:26.060 and from police via the criminal code. And if we go further down in this story, again, read the whole

00:05:32.000 thing. Making matters more concerning are Carney's own potential private sector interests. He is the

00:05:38.180 former chair and environmental social government's ESG lead of Brookfield Asset Management. Carney's

00:05:44.800 publicly traded assets have been put into a blind trust, but we're still waiting on financial

00:05:50.620 disclosures through the ethics commissioner. All considered, he could stand to benefit from the

00:05:56.060 suspension of law in the area of modular housing and green energy, for example, given Brookfield's

00:06:02.500 holdings. This is very important that you contact your MP, NDP, conservative. Let the conservatives know you

00:06:12.340 don't support this and they cannot give the liberals these sweeping controls over this act, Bill C-5, which

00:06:20.800 would do this for five years. Do you want to give the liberals this type of control? And you want to know

00:06:26.620 what's happening with your money, where it's going, and this would shield this from everyone in law. So let

00:06:33.240 your conservative MP know about this. As soon as I'm done here, I'm sending an email to my MP, but this is

00:06:39.580 scary, folks. And the conservatives seem to be supporting this right now, but there's still time.
