00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel, Saturday, February the 7th, 4.03 a.m. I do
00:00:08.300 have my big blue mug of coffee. I hope you're having a great start to your Saturday and
00:00:12.160 to your weekend as well. I want to be brief. I'm not feeling quite myself this morning.
00:00:17.500 I have a very, very busy day today, so I'm going to try to be short as possible. I want
00:00:22.620 to talk about three things I'm seeing right now that are kind of connected. Number one,
00:00:27.120 the possibility of a spring election. Lots of talk about this right now. I've mentioned
00:00:32.520 it here. The pundits saying the liberals want an election. They would likely win a majority
00:00:37.600 looking at the polls right now, and they desperately want a majority. So that's number one.
00:00:43.120 Number two, indicators that number one might not be quite as possible as we think. And number
00:00:50.340 three, what the liberals are going to do, and I'm already seeing them doing right now because
00:00:54.760 of what's happening with number two. So we'll get to these things right now. Let's look at
00:00:58.980 number one. Possibility of an election. Questions swirl about where Polyev will run as conservatives
00:01:06.220 prepare for a possible spring election. Conservatives are hoping to avoid going to the polls by working
00:01:11.620 with the liberals to pass key pieces of the government's legislative agenda. Now, the liberals
00:01:18.860 don't want to work with the conservatives because you can't have those pesky conservatives solving
00:01:24.320 any problems because there's less likely that they could win an election if that happens. And the
00:01:29.420 conservatives are trying to help in other ways, which they don't like either, which I'll get to
00:01:34.940 in just a moment. So let's move on to number two. Why it's less likely we're to see an election coming
00:01:41.080 up in the spring. It's because Canada's economy is in the dumps right now. I was going to say a word
00:01:48.760 that starts with S and ends with hitters, but I won't do that. It's in the dumps right now. The
00:01:53.000 great white north ain't so great anymore. And here are some of the indicators that might say we might 0.98
00:01:58.460 not have an election because you don't want to go to an election when you get a lot of bad news. And
00:02:02.420 here it is. Canada lost 25,000 jobs in January. Labor force participation fell to 65%. We move on to
00:02:11.240 this article. One sector of Canada's economy is in deep recession and we can't even blame Trump.
00:02:18.080 Manufacturing output has been declining for two decades. Here's why. Number three, North American
00:02:24.220 manufacturing is suffering under the strain of tariffs. And number four, this article mentioned
00:02:30.140 this, seen this in other news organizations as well. Canada's economy is on life support and country
00:02:36.900 is in recession watch, says Economist. So things are not looking good right now in Canada. These are
00:02:44.120 things that conservatives would definitely use against the liberals if we went to an election
00:02:48.300 campaign. Things are not good in Canada right now. Now, what are the conservatives trying to do to help?
00:02:55.620 Well, they're trying to help pass the legislative agenda, as it said in that first story I told you
00:03:01.420 about when it talked about where Pierre Paulyev will run. But they're also trying to smooth over
00:03:06.220 negotiations with the United States of America. And we knew that the other day when we got this story
00:03:12.420 about Jamil Javani. He's gone down to the United States because he has a connection with J.D. Vance.
00:03:18.740 This article right here says a hell of a lot. Just the title here. If Jamil Javani succeeds,
00:03:24.440 it would be a win for Canada. Why can't liberals admit this? They do not want Javani to be successful
00:03:31.240 because they want to win an election. Your pain is the liberals gain. More on that in just a moment.
00:03:39.040 Melanie Javani and Mark Carney are throwing partisan jabs when they should be looking for
00:03:43.320 out for the interests of Canadians. And here is Melanie Javani on with Vashi Capellas. And listen
00:03:49.900 to what she has to say here.
00:03:51.520 If I could ask you about Jamil Javani, the conservative MP who headed to the United States,
00:03:55.600 he said that he was going to meet, and I don't have confirmation, I just, this is just through
00:03:58.980 his social media channels, that he was going to meet with GM. And I just wondered if he had
00:04:03.360 asked for a briefing or if you had offered one.
00:04:07.280 No, I think it's because I actually called him on it, saying that as MP in charge of Oshawa
00:04:13.140 constituents that are working at GM, that are losing their job, why is he just embracing
00:04:20.100 the Trump administration that is putting tariffs on them and having them, you know, lose their
00:04:26.800 job? And why is he basically not denouncing the U.S. auto tariffs? And that's just a question
00:04:34.580 that across Oshawa people are asking.
00:04:36.680 He says he can be of help to the government by going there. Do you think that's possible?
00:04:40.600 You know, I'm not in his heart nor in his mind. I'm just looking at what he says and what are the
00:04:47.720 facts. And until I actually said on television that he was not talking and denouncing the GM
00:04:55.380 layoffs, he didn't talk about it. And now he's talking about it. So I think, you know, basically
00:05:02.980 it talks for itself.
00:05:04.720 So number one was about the possibility of an election. Number two was the indicators
00:05:10.360 that make number one less likely. This is number three, how the liberals are going to react
00:05:16.000 to the bad economy that's happening right now as they lead the country. And it's the campaign of
00:05:22.060 fear. The campaign of fear is coming back. You're seeing it everywhere. They've got to scare people
00:05:27.140 about Donald Trump. This is the playbook they go to every time. Carney even did it when he made an
00:05:36.120 address regarding the Olympics. In a more divided and uncertain world, your success will unite Canadians
00:05:43.480 from coast to coast to coast and remind us that we are part of something bigger.
00:05:49.120 In a more divided and uncertain world, Mark Carney can't even keep an Olympic address positive. He's
00:05:55.560 got to drag politics into it. He's got to have the campaign of fear. And we know what he's talking
00:06:01.560 about when he says that. And I'm sure the Trump administration is listening and they'll react
00:06:05.980 accordingly. And that doesn't help Jamil Javani be successful in trying to help smooth over trade
00:06:12.440 negotiations. We can't have the conservatives helping. But what else are they going to do?
00:06:18.520 Well, it's already happening, folks. They're going to bribe people with your money. It's going to be
00:06:23.480 very costly. They've got the grocery rebate that cost $12.4 billion. They've got an EV mandate.
00:06:30.080 They're even bribing people that have money to buy a $50,000 EV to the tune of $5,000 rebates.
00:06:37.340 And don't forget, there is an anniversary coming up that the liberals are going to be very quick to
00:06:41.420 remind you about. It's coming up in March. Carney kills consumer carbon tax and first move as prime
00:06:47.860 minister. This is what they're going to be talking about. That happened back just in the middle of
00:06:51.880 March. So expect that to happen. Carbon tax went up every April 1st. Remember, they're going to remind
00:06:58.180 you about this carbon tax, even though industrial carbon taxes have gone up in Canada. And here in
00:07:04.260 Alberta, they're going up six times. So are we going to have an election? Possibly. There are
00:07:09.320 indicators that we might not have an election. And what are the liberals going to do in order
00:07:13.860 to make people forget about all the problems that are having in the country, the campaign of fear is
00:07:19.480 back, and they're going to bribe people with their own money? That's what I see happening right now.
