00:00:00.000 Let me be clear, you should be furious about this.
00:00:07.640 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. Friday, February the 6th. It is 3.46 a.m. I hope you're
00:00:13.560 having a great start to your day with the big blue mug of coffee, of course. And before I get into
00:00:18.080 today's video, I want to say hi to all the folks I met last night at the Dalhousie Community Center
00:00:23.640 in Northwest Calgary for the Independence event. It was so nice meeting you. Mitch Sylvester with
00:00:29.060 another great presentation. Dennis Kalman was there with Mitch as well, answering questions.
00:00:33.720 There were so many of them at the end of the evening. It was terrific with a petition signing.
00:00:37.860 So again, thank you so much for coming up to say hi. So yesterday I did a video saying the liberals
00:00:44.380 won't leave us alone. And if you haven't seen the video, I'll put a card at the end so you can watch
00:00:49.260 it. And in that video, I used a Ronald Reagan quote. And I may use another Reagan quote by the end of
00:00:54.260 this one. He's such a quotable man. But the quote I used yesterday was, the more the plans fail,
00:01:00.800 the more the planners plan. And the two stories we're talking about today are basically the
00:01:05.900 definition of that saying and that quote. So we're going to start off. God help me. I'm going to use
00:01:12.840 two Mark Carney clips off the top. I'm sorry, but I have to do this to make my point. You should be
00:01:16.880 furious about this. Just like I said off the top of this video. Yesterday Carney made an announcement
00:01:24.460 about EVs. Okay. So we're going to play that clip for you. I'll come back for just a second. I'll
00:01:30.520 play another clip to you. And this should make you furious. I'm going to say it again, but here's
00:01:35.520 Mark Carney talking about EVs. That's why our government is launching a new $2.3 billion electric
00:01:42.420 vehicle affordability program. Canadians who purchase or lease a battery electric or fuel cell electric
00:01:49.680 vehicle will receive up to $5,000 and up to $2,500 for plug-in hybrids priced up to $50,000.
00:01:59.320 To support the Canadian auto industry, this $50,000 cap will not apply to Canadian-made EVs or
00:02:06.180 Canadian-made plug-in hybrids. And those incentives will only apply to vehicles produced in countries
00:02:12.420 with whom Canada has a free trade agreement. So let's go back about a week. I apologize for this,
00:02:19.600 but here is Mark Carney talking about food. So today we're announcing that our government
00:02:25.960 is launching the new Canada's Groceries and Essentials benefit. This will deliver hundreds
00:02:33.940 of dollars more into the bank accounts of more than 12 million Canadians. With the new Canada
00:02:41.820 Groceries and Essentials benefit, that same family will receive up to $1,890 this year and about $1,400
00:02:51.580 a year for each of the next four years. We've seen a couple of videos now, so let's break this down
00:02:57.660 and let's look at EVs to start. And just EVs, let's leave hybrids out of this. So the plan is this,
00:03:04.700 you get up to a $5,000 rebate. Now keep in mind, a rebate is a taxpayer paid subsidy. That's you.
00:03:15.200 Up to a $5,000 rebate on an EV up to $50,000. But on Canadian vehicles, there's no cap. So this vehicle
00:03:24.180 could be worth $150,000. So let's look at this family here. This is AI generated. There's no need
00:03:31.080 to put a real family on here and shame them. They've done nothing wrong. So I created this.
00:03:35.020 But this family right here, standing in front of this beautiful home, these people who can afford
00:03:41.520 to buy an EV are going to get a $5,000 rebate paid for by you. Meanwhile, the people you're seeing on
00:03:51.200 the screen right now who can't afford food will get hundreds of dollars.
00:04:00.400 Does that seem fair to you? People who can afford a $50,000 EV will get a taxpayer subsidy to buy that
00:04:11.020 vehicle up to $5,000. People who can't afford the necessaries of life, food, get hundreds of dollars.
00:04:19.220 Does that seem fair to you? Are you getting furious yet? But there's a conclusion coming up,
00:04:24.080 okay, that will make you even more furious. But here's the thing. Let's look at this even
00:04:28.980 closer. What did Carney say about the EVs? He said, the incentives only apply to vehicles from
00:04:34.320 countries with a free trade agreement with Canada. We hear about KUSMA. That's the trade agreement
00:04:40.740 Canada has with the United States of America. We do have a free trade agreement with the United States
00:04:46.320 of America. So you elbows up people who hate Donald Trump and hate the United States so much.
00:04:55.240 Okay. You elbows up people and you say you'll never buy anything from the United States again.
00:05:02.600 You could be subsidizing American EVs up to $5,000 in Canada. How do you like that?
00:05:09.320 Now, in the first case, the government is spending your money trying to solve a problem that does
00:05:18.440 not exist, climate. In the second case, it is spending your money and not solving a problem it
00:05:24.700 created, food inflation. Because right now, Canada leads the G7 when it comes to food inflation.
00:05:30.880 But their answer to everything is to throw money at it. Now, here's the conclusion. And I wrote this
00:05:39.360 down to get my thoughts straight on this. It is Canada's shame that things are now so bad in this
00:05:46.380 country that we have to help people buy what they need to survive, food. It is Canada's shame that we
00:05:54.800 are buying electric vehicles for well-off people while we have to help people buy what they need
00:06:00.320 to survive. And that is food. This is a disgrace. You know, I'm going to go back to a Ronald Reagan
00:06:08.760 quote for you here. And we'll end on this. Here is the quote. Government does not solve problems.
00:06:16.080 It subsidizes them. Are you furious?
