00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is 5.49 a.m. It is May the 24th, so happy natural
00:00:06.820 birthday of Queen Victoria, which was celebrated on the 19th. Hope you're having a great start to
00:00:12.480 your weekend. Now, this is my second video today. I hope you'll watch the first and share it. I'll
00:00:17.640 put a card at the end of this video so you can do that. I think it's a real fun one. It's a good
00:00:23.000 one about a former MLA trying to cut off the Alberta independence movement by having his own
00:00:28.140 referendum. So last night I came in here to do the video you're seeing right now, to do some
00:00:34.300 preliminary work, and I got sidetracked by that other one. But I put a folder in my computer,
00:00:39.900 Will the Libs Break Rank? I'm talking about the Federal Liberal Party, because I think some of
00:00:45.360 them may mutiny, and I'll get to the reason for that in just a moment. Now, some of the preliminary
00:00:50.540 work I wanted to do was finding Mark Carney being questioned about the Reform Act. Now,
00:00:58.140 for those of you who don't know what the Reform Act, here is the video of that journalist asking
00:01:03.180 Mark Carney, who squirms a little bit when he's asked the question.
00:01:06.700 Catherine Lévesque, National Post. I wanted to get your opinion on the Reform Act. You might have
00:01:13.540 seen, but a few of your MPs say it's nothing against you, but they want to have the power to
00:01:17.760 trigger a leadership review if things go south, maybe in a couple of years. Are you comfortable
00:01:22.960 with this idea? Is that a prediction? Catherine, I mean, what? You're a little confident.
00:01:26.880 Are you comfortable with that idea so early in your mandate?
00:01:29.660 Well, I'll say the following, which is that, you know, the Reform Act, all parties in Parliament,
00:01:36.420 all recognized parties in Parliament are bound by the Reform Act. It's the law of the land.
00:01:41.200 And, and therefore there are these four votes consistent with the Reform Act that will take
00:01:48.400 place. They'll take place at the, at the first caucus meeting, which is Sunday. So it's not,
00:01:56.960 it's just, well, I, I observed that this will happen. There'll be these votes.
00:02:03.280 The Reform Act will allow liberals, if they vote in favor of this, to have a leadership review if
00:02:09.080 they're not happy with their leader. And that would be Mark Carney. And you saw him squirm there.
00:02:13.380 The liberals have ignored this for years. They've never voted on this. They weren't able to get
00:02:19.000 rid of Justin Trudeau because they didn't adopt this law. Now I wake up this morning and I go to
00:02:26.580 YouTube and one of the recommendations I have is a video from Wyatt Claypool at the National Telegraph.
00:02:31.360 His video is called Liberal MPs Move to Restrain Mark Carney's Power, quote, internal fight.
00:02:37.820 And here's what Wyatt was saying about why the liberals want the Reform Act. And then I'll
00:02:43.300 explain to you why I think they might use this against Mark Carney in the future, completely
00:02:47.280 different reason, or why a number of liberals might mutiny and go and sit as independents.
00:02:54.840 Felt like to me, the National Post reporter says they say it's nothing against you. And he kind of
00:02:59.340 has that instant reaction of, sure, it's nothing against me because he knows Nate Erickson,
00:03:03.100 Erickson Smith, and some of these other people really have it out for him because he's already
00:03:06.880 screwed them over. They might not come at him now, but if he starts messing up, I think they
00:03:11.340 feel no loyalty to him. And they've even been saying the guy kind of just swept in here,
00:03:16.640 became leader within like a month, and then became prime minister for a full four-year term,
00:03:21.680 or it could end up being four years if the government doesn't collapse.
00:03:24.420 And that we maybe want a little bit of a veto power over stuff you do.
00:03:29.900 Wyatt seems to think this is personal. He's probably right. By the way, a link in the
00:03:34.860 description to the video on his channel. And go over and subscribe to him. He's at 69,000
00:03:40.920 subscribers right now. He's looking for 100,000. He should be there already. Very, very, very smart
00:03:45.740 when it comes to politics. Way smarter than me. I'm just the guy in his basement with the big blue
00:03:50.520 mugs spitballing down here. So what is my reasoning behind this? Well, a couple of things
00:03:54.880 have popped up over the last couple of days. Now, this happened yesterday at the Calgary
00:03:58.600 Chamber of Commerce. This from the Financial Post. New Liberal Energy Minister vows to support
00:04:03.200 oil pipelines, clean slate for Alberta. Also from the Financial Post, bold action. Federal
00:04:09.620 Energy Minister Tim Hodgson vows to fast-track infrastructure projects. It's a one-hour video of
00:04:17.900 him speaking. Link in the description. But here's just a short, short clip of what Mr. Hodgson
00:04:23.000 had to say here in Calgary yesterday.
00:04:25.060 I want to be very clear. In the new economy we are building, Canada will no longer be defined
00:04:33.820 by delay. We will be defined by delivery. I'm going to say that again. In the new economy
00:04:41.700 we are building, Canada will no longer be defined by delay. We will be defined by delivery. So
00:04:51.600 what does that mean? It begins with a vision to build Canada into a conventional and clean
00:04:58.980 energy and natural resources superpower. We have the resources. We have the people. We have the
00:05:06.380 ideas. We'll no longer be defined by delay. We'll be defined by delivery, says Mr. Hodgson,
00:05:12.940 the Energy Minister at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, which is making lots of people happy.
00:05:18.700 But what about the Liberals in the party that are not happy that they're promising this to Alberta,
00:05:25.420 to Danielle Smith, a Conservative, about pumping oil when their belief is the world is going to end
00:05:32.540 because of oil and gas and we have to keep fossil fuels in the ground. This is the party that has
00:05:39.980 been imposing carbon taxes and will continue to do that because they have a religion. It's called
00:05:47.660 climate change. They're part of a cult. Don't you think a number of these people like Stephen Gilbo,
00:05:54.940 the new Environment Minister and Climate Change Minister, Julie DeBruzan and others who have been
00:06:01.260 fighting tooth and nail for carbon taxes and to save the planet? Don't you think they might use
00:06:06.860 the Reform Act or maybe mutiny from the Liberal Party over this issue? Here's a few of them,
00:06:13.900 starting off with Jonathan Wilkinson. And why did he get into politics? He tells you
00:06:18.460 right at the beginning of his little chat here. What's the future of sort of energy and climate
00:06:23.660 policy for the Liberal Party going forward? Well, you're asking somebody who got into politics
00:06:29.580 because of climate change. And I had the great privilege of serving as Canada's Environment
00:06:35.020 Climate Change Minister for three or four years and brought into place the first climate plan Canada's
00:06:41.660 ever had that showed how we would not only beat the target, but we would raise the target because
00:06:46.780 we would exceed that. So I am committed to the fight against climate change. It's a science issue.
00:06:51.580 It shouldn't be a partisan issue. It is a science issue. The main reason is because the opposition to it
00:06:55.820 that's being led by the Conservatives, by Andrew Scheer and by Pierre Polyev, is predicated on a lie.
00:07:01.180 It's predicated on the lie that pricing carbon and pricing pollution and lowering our emissions is
00:07:06.940 harming Canadians economically. And that's just categorically false. Carbon pricing is an important
00:07:12.300 tool to reduce carbon emissions in Canada. It's an important tool to reduce carbon emissions in
00:07:18.620 California. It's an important tool to reduce emissions in the US. But at this point in time,
00:07:23.980 given the affordability struggles, like you highlight many of those using home heating oil
00:07:28.540 are facing, would it not be worth considering pressing pause in this instance?
00:07:34.060 No, no, it wouldn't, because we can't put a pause on climate change. And what Pierre Polyev never talks
00:07:40.060 about is the fact that people right now, eight out of 10 Canadians, families, get more money back than
00:07:45.900 they pay in carbon pricing. Do you think these people are okay with Mark Carney saying he's gonna pump more
00:07:53.420 oil? Their energy minister coming to Calgary saying that? Jonathan Wilkinson said this is the main reason
00:08:01.340 he got into politics. Climate change. Adam Vancouverton, who you saw there, is an absolute nut.
00:08:08.380 Someone needs to put him in his kayak and push him down the river. He's insane.
00:08:11.900 Why are we doing this, Mr. Carney? This is Alberta. They don't vote for us anyway. Who cares?
00:08:23.260 They want to leave. Here's a headline from yesterday. Daniel Smith warns Carney to stop
00:08:29.260 foot dragging and kill anti-oil policies. He could foot drag a little over a year. Promise all you want
00:08:36.140 right now. Foot drag for a little bit. Election season's coming up in October 27.
00:08:41.980 Now, head and end, she's using all of these demands that Daniel Smith is making
00:08:46.540 to the federal government against her. He's calling her a separatist. Smith's waiting for
00:08:53.340 Carney to bail her out. Alberta Premier says Carney can stop separatist movement by connecting West to
00:08:58.700 global markets. Yeah, there are probably a number of people who will be okay with staying in Canada if
00:09:04.380 we get pipelines. Not me. I want out. There's always another tyrannical liberal government down the
00:09:10.140 road. But they've only got to wait this out for a little bit, folks. But these people in the Liberal
00:09:15.740 Party, they may want to walk. They may want to use the Reform Act against Carney regarding this issue.
00:09:21.420 They may want to sit as independents on this because this is their religion. And that's what
00:09:26.380 I've been thinking over the last couple of days as more of these headlines pop up. What do you think?
00:09:32.060 Let me know in the comments. If you like the video, give me a thumbs up. It really helps the channel.
00:09:36.940 Ring the bell for notifications and I will see you in the next one. Have a great weekend.
