Summary

I stand by my decision to endorse Pierre Polyev in his riding of Battle River-Crowfoot. I have no connection with this riding and have no idea why he would run in it. I go through some of the comments and the reasons why I think he should have won in that riding.

Transcript

00:00:00.220 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel, 634 AM, Sunday, July the 20th, with the Big
00:00:05.940 Blue Mug of Coffee.
00:00:06.960 I hope you're having a great weekend, and I sincerely mean that.
00:00:12.780 And today, I would like to have a heartfelt talk with you, a sincere talk with you, regarding
00:00:19.780 yesterday's video.
00:00:22.040 I got a lot of comments on that video.
00:00:23.900 It was called, The Long Ballot.
00:00:25.320 I love it.
00:00:26.560 It's just what we needed.
00:00:27.780 And I had a thumbnail with me giving a thumbs up, saying, I endorse The Long Ballot.
00:00:32.540 And of course, I'm talking about the riding where Pierre Polyev is running in Battle River,
00:00:37.240 Crowfoot.
00:00:39.240 And boy, a lot of people didn't like what I had to say.
00:00:42.260 I'm sure there are people who have been coming to this channel for months who are not here
00:00:45.320 today.
00:00:46.320 I used to watch every video.
00:00:47.720 I'm not watching you anymore.
00:00:48.840 Now, I think some of those people didn't get my point.
00:00:53.780 But I think a lot of people didn't watch my video to the end.
00:00:58.460 And some people, there was one comment that came in, which I'm going to go through some
00:01:02.340 of the comments in just a moment.
00:01:03.320 You had some great points that I'd like to address.
00:01:05.760 I don't take any of what I said back yesterday.
00:01:07.740 None of it.
00:01:08.940 I stand by my video.
00:01:11.080 There was one point that came in that hurt me on a personal level.
00:01:15.600 I'm going to address that in just a moment.
00:01:17.220 But I don't think everybody watched the video to the end.
00:01:23.660 I was accused of a lot of things yesterday.
00:01:27.680 Some people accused me of being a liberal.
00:01:29.980 You know, that probably cuts the most, but it's the most inaccurate thing people said about
00:01:34.900 me.
00:01:36.060 I'm not a liberal.
00:01:37.020 But I don't think everybody watched the video to the end where I said this.
00:01:44.260 And I think we can just hold up this long list, which is probably going to be 10 feet
00:01:47.980 long and say, look, how stupid this country is that it can allow this kind of thing to
00:01:52.880 happen.
00:01:53.580 I think it's evident that I think this is all a joke.
00:01:57.320 That came pretty close to the end of the video.
00:01:59.280 So if you didn't watch all the way to the end, you might not have got my point.
00:02:02.220 And some people did watch to the end and didn't get my point.
00:02:04.680 I pointed out a number of things that are an absolute joke.
00:02:09.120 Just a few.
00:02:09.820 Mark Carney comes back after 10 years of not being in the country.
00:02:12.620 He's the prime minister.
00:02:13.520 That's a joke.
00:02:14.840 And you all thought it was a joke as well.
00:02:18.840 What I think is happening here, and you need to understand, I'm going to get to the comments
00:02:23.900 in a moment.
00:02:24.820 You need to understand, I know where you're coming from when it comes to Pierre Polyev.
00:02:29.480 I supported Pierre Polyev.
00:02:30.860 I wanted him to win.
00:02:35.020 I've said here, he may be the best prime minister Canada never has.
00:02:40.640 Okay.
00:02:41.920 And I think you feel hurt that he was hurt.
00:02:46.160 He couldn't even win in his own riding.
00:02:48.360 Right.
00:02:51.360 And I understand that.
00:02:52.860 I do.
00:02:53.840 I met Pierre Polyev a long time ago.
00:02:55.680 I was introduced to him as a future prime minister.
00:02:58.500 That was in 2007-2008.
00:03:01.880 Okay.
00:03:02.440 So I understand where you're coming from.
00:03:03.980 So let's look at some of these comments.
00:03:07.040 Over here to Kay Carter, 7623.
00:03:09.340 If you'd done any research, you would know that Pierre has been in Battle River Crowfoot,
00:03:13.960 campaigning both with and without Damien Keurig.
00:03:16.480 Your opinion is weakened by your lack of due diligence.
00:03:19.480 You know, I did the video yesterday and I looked at it and I went, you know, I could
00:03:22.820 have been more clear.
00:03:23.560 He has not been in that riding prior to Damien Keurig sitting down.
00:03:28.800 He may have been there as the leader of the Conservative Party, but he is not somebody closely
00:03:34.560 connected with the riding he's running in.
00:03:36.380 I don't think that's right.
00:03:38.160 And I think a lot of you think the same thing.
00:03:40.900 Now you're going to go back.
00:03:42.040 Oh, I think Pierre should be able to run in this riding.
00:03:43.980 What did you think when Mark Carney got parachuted into Nepean?
00:03:46.760 I'm sure you were online going, the guy has no relationship with Nepean.
00:03:51.920 That's wrong.
00:03:52.820 You probably said that during the election campaign.
00:03:54.820 Did you not?
00:03:55.480 Think about it.
00:03:57.540 Mark Carney has no relationship with Nepean.
00:03:59.760 He hasn't been in the country for 10 or 12 years.
00:04:03.800 So now be consistent here.
00:04:05.540 I think that's wrong.
00:04:07.040 I always wondered how that could possibly happen.
00:04:09.420 How can you go run in a riding that you have no connection with?
00:04:13.520 I think that's wrong.
00:04:15.440 And I stand by my point yesterday.
00:04:18.900 Now I want to move on to this right here.
00:04:20.960 And a lot of people said this.
00:04:23.600 And the hurtful comment is coming up right after this.
00:04:27.260 Me and my husband are old eyes and are not what they used to be.
00:04:30.240 I know where you're coming from.
00:04:31.900 I'm getting there.
00:04:32.960 To that election, we'd have to bring our best glasses and a ruler to make sure we could cross
00:04:38.060 to the right spot.
00:04:39.420 Lots of people could make a mistake.
00:04:41.200 I'm sure they know that.
00:04:42.300 But it's possible they do know that.
00:04:44.380 And I never thought of this.
00:04:46.220 I'm sure that's a situation.
00:04:47.800 It is a nuisance.
00:04:49.340 And I said that in the video.
00:04:50.380 Yes, this is a nuisance.
00:04:51.820 And that's what this is all about.
00:04:53.160 If the people who are doing this longest ballot thing are doing that on purpose to hurt
00:04:58.720 people who have poor eyesight, they're bad people.
00:05:02.060 A lot of people made this point.
00:05:04.560 The first guy I just talked about, the first comment, made the same point.
00:05:08.660 And then I got this.
00:05:10.800 I watched this channel before and even liked it.
00:05:13.540 However, now hearing John refer to seniors and visually impaired people as complete idiots
00:05:18.120 is pretty cruel.
00:05:19.460 I did not do that.
00:05:20.520 I did not do that.
00:05:27.200 I commented on this.
00:05:28.860 I don't believe I did that.
00:05:30.420 But if you got that impression, I do apologize.
00:05:33.360 And I apologize.
00:05:34.060 But I didn't do that.
00:05:37.940 I would never do that.
00:05:39.380 Never.
00:05:44.120 I appreciate your comment.
00:05:45.920 A lot of people mentioned this issue.
00:05:48.500 It's a joke, folks.
00:05:50.040 This is an absolute travesty.
00:05:52.820 And that was my point of my video yesterday.
00:05:56.740 John, you have a lot of problems.
00:05:59.800 A lot of people said this.
00:06:01.540 I don't have a lot of problems.
00:06:03.000 Personally, I don't let things bother me all that much.
00:06:06.540 I don't have a lot of problems.
00:06:08.140 But people thought I had a lot of problems.
00:06:11.700 Moving on.
00:06:14.820 I'm pissed.
00:06:15.720 Yeah, I'm pissed.
00:06:16.340 I voted for Damien.
00:06:17.380 And now the only vote I want to make is for the referendum to be free from Canada.
00:06:21.700 I'm with you.
00:06:23.120 Dan Dahlen3532.
00:06:25.720 The only reason I will likely vote for Pierre is to block the left for as long as we are still
00:06:30.000 part of Canada.
00:06:32.020 Good.
00:06:32.420 Vote for Pierre.
00:06:33.620 I want him to win.
00:06:35.660 You need to understand that.
00:06:37.960 John, all this political stuff is taking a toll on you.
00:06:40.880 Take some time off.
00:06:42.040 Kick back.
00:06:42.700 Enjoy some great craft beers.
00:06:44.540 And turn off the screens.
00:06:45.860 You maybe don't realize how bitter you're becoming just saying, I'm not bitter.
00:06:49.480 I'm not bitter.
00:06:50.280 You need to understand.
00:06:51.260 I've said this before on this channel.
00:06:52.360 I don't do this all day.
00:06:54.220 I don't have the temperament for it.
00:06:55.840 I used to.
00:06:56.380 I was a radio broadcaster for years.
00:06:58.540 I worked at a radio station where I talked a lot of politics.
00:07:01.120 And honest to God, at the end, I'm getting older.
00:07:04.540 I could not stand talking to people on the left.
00:07:07.620 That frustrated me so much.
00:07:10.000 So I walked away.
00:07:11.520 And I walk away from the screens after this.
00:07:13.700 I didn't look at the comments from yesterday's video until this morning.
00:07:16.460 Because I was doing other stuff.
00:07:18.140 Now, I don't drink.
00:07:19.700 I'd sit down and have a mocktail with you.
00:07:23.340 But thank you for the comment.
00:07:25.040 I appreciate that.
00:07:26.860 Okay.
00:07:27.220 I was a subscriber to your channel, John.
00:07:28.940 But after watching this episode full of liberal bias, agreeing with this mockery, and your obvious dislike of Pierre, I'm done.
00:07:35.260 I don't dislike Pierre.
00:07:36.320 I like him very much.
00:07:37.260 I want him to win.
00:07:38.260 I wanted him to be prime minister.
00:07:39.900 I went out and covered when he came here to Calgary up at the airport.
00:07:45.280 It was great.
00:07:46.560 I wanted him to win.
00:07:47.700 I think he'll win in Battle River Crowfoot.
00:07:50.500 But I'm not a liberal.
00:07:52.980 That was the second worst thing you could say to me yesterday.
00:07:55.340 The other one was accusing me of calling seniors and people who are visually impaired idiots, which I would never do.
00:08:03.140 Wow, I've liked and subscribed to you a long time and listen every day.
00:08:06.040 But this one, I only have two 1970s words.
00:08:09.860 Bite me.
00:08:10.560 Sorry you feel that way.
00:08:11.880 Atlanta Pierre.
00:08:12.780 I don't think you watched to the end or didn't get it.
00:08:15.220 All listed candidates should have to put up a non-refundable $100,000 to be on the voter list.
00:08:21.060 So what I commented on this, a lot of people said this, that there should be a fee.
00:08:24.780 I get it.
00:08:25.620 I think it would make it impossible for the average person to run in elections.
00:08:29.560 I wouldn't want that.
00:08:30.580 Thanks for watching.
00:08:31.340 So I think we're on a slippery slope here.
00:08:33.240 Other people said, well, make it a fee so people have to pay maybe $1,000 and you might not have as many people on this long ballot.
00:08:40.240 And that's probably true as well.
00:08:42.580 But the thing that I was thinking was leftists are going to mess around and there's always some advocacy group or some group that hates Pierre Polyev that's willing to foot the bill for these people to run in this election.
00:08:52.160 So I don't think it's a good idea to make a huge fee to run in politics.
00:08:56.760 You remember during the liberal leadership campaign, the fee was $350,000 and that's a lot of money.
00:09:06.460 But of course they had backers that paid that for them.
00:09:08.780 I don't think Chrystia Freeland or Mark Carney paid out of their own pocket for that.
00:09:12.060 They probably had groups that put the money up for them.
00:09:15.320 But I think the average person should be able to run for politics in this country and it shouldn't be such a high fee that they can't do that.
00:09:21.980 Let's go back here.
00:09:23.420 Carney did the same thing to get a seat, but worse, he just took it.
00:09:26.420 Damien voluntarily surrendered it because of how strongly he believes in Polyev and loves his country.
00:09:31.880 Yes, Mark Carney did the same thing.
00:09:33.580 He parachuted into Nepean.
00:09:35.940 He won his seat.
00:09:37.220 No relationship with the rioting.
00:09:38.680 I think that's wrong.
00:09:40.240 I think that needs to be changed.
00:09:42.860 That's just the way I feel.
00:09:45.240 John, your dislike of the federal conservatives has jaundiced your view.
00:09:48.780 The long ballot is a disgrace.
00:09:50.540 There are ways in which elections Canada could revise elections.
00:09:53.900 There are very many failures made by Elections Canada and need to be investigated.
00:09:57.840 I agree.
00:09:58.280 I do not have a dislike of the federal conservatives.
00:10:00.140 Let me put it to you this way.
00:10:01.540 Do I dislike the federal conservatives?
00:10:03.140 No.
00:10:03.320 I have voted conservative in every election since I've turned 18.
00:10:08.440 And I voted in every election.
00:10:10.780 And I just turned 60.
00:10:12.060 The only election I didn't vote conservative was in 1993 when the conservatives won two seats.
00:10:17.720 Kim Campbell was the prime minister at that point.
00:10:20.580 Nobody voted conservative.
00:10:21.760 I didn't even vote liberal.
00:10:23.080 I voted for the national party.
00:10:25.600 I spoiled my vote.
00:10:27.460 I don't have a dislike of the federal conservatives, but I do have a dislike of the federal government.
00:10:33.340 I don't dislike Canada.
00:10:35.100 You need to understand that.
00:10:36.260 I have a dislike of the federal government.
00:10:39.260 That's why I want Alberta independence.
00:10:41.340 So right here, I said at the bottom, I have no dislike for the federal conservatives.
00:10:45.260 I voted for Tom Kimmich in Calgary Shepherd.
00:10:47.840 I have voted conservative since I could vote.
00:10:49.680 So I pointed that out.
00:10:51.880 And then we'll move along to this last one.
00:10:54.180 You're nuts, Bolton.
00:10:55.100 Get with it.
00:10:55.680 Even if the conservatives won the next election, I would still be pushing for separation.
00:11:00.060 Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta.
00:11:01.420 So cheering on non-meaningful candidates does nothing for your democracy.
00:11:05.340 Okay, so yeah, I'm with you.
00:11:07.380 I want independence.
00:11:09.540 Now, near the end of the video yesterday, I just picked some random guy that was on that list and said I was endorsing him.
00:11:15.400 It was a joke.
00:11:16.720 This guy's got no chance of winning.
00:11:18.760 And of course, I went down the road.
00:11:20.120 He's not far from the place that rules over your lives.
00:11:23.700 The place that never gives Alberta and the West a fair shake, Ottawa.
00:11:26.960 But I wasn't endorsing this guy.
00:11:32.920 I was making a joke of it.
00:11:34.220 Because I could have picked anybody on this list.
00:11:36.160 I happened to pick this guy from Calendar, Ontario.
00:11:39.040 I highly endorse Pierre Polyev in Battle River Crowfoot.
00:11:44.300 Let me just put that on record.
00:11:45.500 I want to see him win.
00:11:46.260 I want to see him win.
00:11:47.480 I want to see him in the House of Commons in question period.
00:11:50.420 He's the best there is at that.
00:11:52.680 And you know what?
00:11:55.280 I said he may be the greatest Prime Minister that Canada never has.
00:11:59.760 It will be one of the greatest comebacks if he should be Prime Minister in the future.
00:12:03.460 I pointed out during the election campaign the mistakes he made.
00:12:06.800 And he made a lot of them.
00:12:08.780 But I was a big supporter of Pierre Polyev.
00:12:11.080 I think he's great.
00:12:12.040 But I don't care who's in Ottawa.
00:12:14.500 I don't care if it's Liberal or Conservative.
00:12:17.000 I still want Alberta independence.
00:12:19.480 That's my main goal.
00:12:20.880 That's what I want the most.
00:12:22.680 I appreciate watching.
00:12:24.000 I do.
00:12:24.720 If you left the channel and happened to see this at the end, thanks for coming back.
00:12:29.080 If you left the channel and you're not hearing this, oh well.
00:12:32.020 I don't live and die by the number of subscribers I have on this channel.
00:12:35.900 I ask people to subscribe.
00:12:37.460 I appreciate that.
00:12:38.420 If you like this video, give me a thumbs up.
00:12:40.380 Subscribe to the channel.
00:12:41.700 Ring the bell for notifications.
00:12:43.160 And I'm sure along the way, we're going to have disagreements about things here.
00:12:46.020 I don't agree with a lot of Conservatives on a lot of things.
00:12:48.960 But I try to do something different here.
00:12:51.020 And that's what I tried to do yesterday.
00:12:52.680 By endorsing the long ballot, I was mocking the whole system.
00:12:57.440 And I think a lot of people missed my point.
00:12:59.920 Or again, just didn't watch to the end.
00:13:02.520 And thanks for watching.
00:13:03.840 Have yourself a great week.
00:13:05.740 I'll see you in the next one.
