00:00:16.040 down. I talked about this in a recent video about the fear-mongering around the fourth wave. It was
00:00:21.460 supposed to happen in October, it would hit a peak thousands of cases per day, perhaps worse than ever
00:00:27.660 before in case numbers. I told the story of one doctor who was a member of the Ontario Science
00:00:32.280 Table, who she said that pediatric cases are going to be filling up the hospitals, and the very day
00:00:37.920 that story came out, September 8th, if you look at the data, that was actually the peak of the fourth
00:00:44.160 wave that wasn't, and why I say it was a fourth wave that wasn't, you go back, you look at the chart,
00:00:49.780 the Ontario government presents one full chart showing all the waves, you see the first wave,
00:00:53.740 big second wave, big third wave, and then this little thing called the fourth wave that just
00:00:59.020 goes up a little bit, and then it goes down. Now, if you look at the current chart, at the end of that
00:01:05.420 going down of the fourth wave, there's a tiny uptick, it's just a little uptick there, which some are
00:01:11.140 saying is the beginning of, wait for it, a fifth wave. It could be a huge fifth wave, so say some of
00:01:17.420 those individuals who have always liked to fear monger over worst case scenarios for COVID-19.
00:01:23.700 They are now saying, uh-oh, we got to do something to prepare, and the Ontario government actually has
00:01:28.720 just announced that they're going to put a pause on lifting some of the remaining restrictions.
00:01:33.980 What are those restrictions? They're actually pretty small ones. There's capacity limits on nightclubs
00:01:38.560 and large gatherings like weddings right now, and also capacity limits on strip clubs,
00:01:43.820 bathhouses, and sex clubs, so that's what they're putting a pause on lifting. Okay, I guess not much
00:01:50.840 of a news item there, but they still say they want to be cautious about this because of this uptick
00:01:55.740 in cases, which, well, when you really look at the overall chart, you gotta squint to see this uptick.
00:02:01.600 Who knows where things will go? Who knows what's going to happen next? But I will say that those voices
00:02:07.460 out there who have always called for various restrictions and lockdowns and seem to just want to call for
00:02:12.680 them again. They should remember what happened during the conversation leading up to a vaccine
00:02:18.140 passport being introduced in Ontario. First of all, you had Dr. Kieran Moore, chief medical officer,
00:02:22.680 saying, we don't want the passport. It's not necessary. Ontario Premier Doug Ford saying he doesn't
00:02:27.400 want it. He was very against it. He said it would create a split society. So now, while it's the status
00:02:33.320 quo and everybody accepts it, and maybe it's considered crazy to say you don't support the vaccine
00:02:37.500 passport, bottom line is Doug Ford was very against it before he was for it, and so was the chief medical
00:02:43.060 officer. But back to my point, what was going on during that conversation is a lot of business
00:02:48.340 leaders and other community leaders said, look, we will just accept the vaccine passport because
00:02:53.880 this means there will be no more lockdowns, no more restrictions. And that was kind of the social
00:03:00.800 contract that many people felt they were signing up for. You bring in the vaccine passport, and I know
00:03:07.680 it was a controversial conversation, and even many people who are vaccinated don't like the idea
00:03:13.140 of the vaccine passport. But we said, okay, you bring in the vaccine passport, that's it. Done. No more
00:03:19.860 lockdown measures, no more restrictions. So those folks who are now seeing this ever so slight uptick in
00:03:26.920 cases, getting excited about it, even though various medical officers across the country have said, you
00:03:31.800 got to decouple the talk of cases. It doesn't really mean what it used to mean. Hospitalizations,
00:03:37.600 for instance, is the key indicator. Stop talking about cases. Those individuals, they also have to
00:03:43.040 remember, we had this conversation about the passport, and that was the social contract. You brought in the
00:03:48.980 passport, no more restrictions, no more lockdowns. So even though some people seem to say, we got to get
00:03:54.800 ahead of this. We got to slow things down. We got to stop doing certain things. Hold on a second.
