00:00:00.000 And like we stopped really quickly. And then and about two seconds later, we just had an
00:00:06.800 absolute like slam. Everybody was fine everywhere. I'm Candace Malcolm. And this is the Candace
00:00:10.960 Malcolm show news update. Today is Monday, March 23rd, 2026. And we have a lot of news to cover
00:00:16.740 today, folks. Unbelievable scene out of New York's LaGuardia Airport late last night, just heart
00:00:22.460 wrenching, gut wrenching. The last thing you want to see. We take so many things for granted in this
00:00:27.120 world and the fact that something like that can happen at a major airport. You know, we have so
00:00:31.780 much trust in the system and it makes you wonder whether we should have that level of trust. We're
00:00:35.940 going to talk about Canada being named in a U.S. sanctions list against global terrorism and the
00:00:41.180 implications of that. We talked last week about MPP, former MPP for the Conservatives, Goldie
00:00:46.420 Gamere getting a death threat. Well, the U.S. FBI have come in to protect her essentially and
00:00:52.400 neutralize the risk so canada's outsourcing its own national security to the americans a new memo
00:00:58.560 came out basically admitting that students international students have displaced canadian
00:01:03.120 students and canadian young people for jobs unbelievable admission of guilt there and we're
00:01:07.760 gonna talk about the federal government shutting down foreign aid so lots to get to today but we
00:01:11.120 are going to start with this unbelievable story a new york bound air canada flight from montreal
00:01:16.960 collided with a ground vehicle when it landed at new york's laguardia airport
00:01:21.280 Sunday night, two have been confirmed killed. That is the pilot and the co-pilot have been
00:01:26.540 confirmed killed. This footage is just unbelievable. The carnage, the wreckage,
00:01:31.540 unbelievable that this can happen. Very terrifying. So both pilots have been killed.
00:01:37.260 41 have been injured. Some seriously. A fire truck was responding to a separate incident
00:01:42.760 on the runway for United Airlines flight. That is why it was on the runway. You could hear
00:01:47.080 the pilot telling the truck to move. The pilot was coming in on its approach and landing this plane
00:01:52.720 and there's a fire truck on the runway. And that is what ultimately collided with the LaGuardia
00:01:58.520 Airport was closed until about 2 p.m. Eastern, 2 a.m. Eastern on Monday, the FAA says. And photos
00:02:05.900 after the accident show the damage to the plane's nose. So this is an Air Canada Express jet
00:02:11.720 operated by its regional partner, Jazz Aviation.
00:02:15.100 It was carrying 72 passengers and four crew
00:02:17.660 departed from Montreal and landed
00:02:20.500 or attempted to land at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
00:02:25.500 So I'll play that clip again.
00:02:26.640 This is the moment where air traffic control can be heard,
00:02:30.560 basically, you know, helping the plane land.
00:02:33.320 The pilots are saying there's something in the way.
00:02:35.120 It has to move.
00:02:35.980 And then you hear the moment of impact
00:02:38.420 and the aftermath and the air traffic controller
00:02:41.280 saying that he was dealing with another emergency clearly understaffed clearly not enough people
00:02:44.960 doing the jobs that they have been hired to do and that he messed up just absolutely stunning
00:02:50.640 series of events let's roll that clip truck one and company regarding tower requesting to cross
00:02:55.600 four at delta truck one company across four delta truck one and company crossing four at delta
00:03:03.520 frontier 4195 to stop there please stop stop stop stop stop stop truck one
00:03:10.880 stop stop truck one stop
00:03:15.120 go 2603 go around runway heading 2000 646.
00:03:20.720 just 646 to see you collide with the vehicle here just hold position i know you can't move
00:03:24.240 the vehicles are responding to you now that was that wasn't good to watch yeah i know i was here
00:03:29.440 i tried to reach out to my stuff and we were dealing with an emergency earlier and i messed up
00:03:34.640 and we can continue to show these images of the damage
00:03:38.160 just just heartbreaking unbelievable our thoughts and prayers are with the pilots praying for the
00:03:43.920 pilots families who are just dealing with this unbelievable news praying for all the passengers
00:03:48.720 on that plane and praying for their recovery passenger jack cabal was on the airplane and
00:03:56.460 here he is describing the moment of impact on fox news it was like a regular flight like always but
00:04:02.760 as we were arriving we came down really hard and then and like we stopped really quickly and then
00:04:08.680 and about two seconds later we just had an absolute like slam everybody was fine everywhere i mean
00:04:14.040 like the plane started veering off left and right um and there was i mean just it was chaos i mean
00:04:22.840 it didn't feel like there was anybody in control and folks when i saw this it just it was reminiscent
00:04:26.680 of that plane crash that happened at toronto pearson airport last february amidst a winter
00:04:32.040 storm. You remember this unbelievable footage as well, where a plane flipped over, rolled over on
00:04:37.300 impact, lost the wings. Unbelievable miracle that no one was injured. No one was killed in that
00:04:42.340 in that accident. But it makes you really question our whole system, right? Like we live
00:04:47.240 in a incredibly advanced civilization that has been built by competent people. We have built a
00:04:53.180 complex system. And the purpose is that it has to be run by incredibly competent people. And
00:04:59.800 And unfortunately, in our world today, we no longer hire for the most competent.
00:05:04.260 We don't really live in a meritocracy anymore.
00:05:06.580 The most competent person often does not get the job.
00:05:09.300 Instead, the guiding ethos in our society has become diversity, equity, inclusion, and
00:05:14.620 making sure that it's representative of different groups.
00:05:18.660 And so we're hiring not based on competency, by and large.
00:05:22.720 We're hiring based on a whole myriad of other issues.
00:05:25.360 And that is a problem.
00:05:26.120 I'm not saying that this specific crash in New York last night was because of DEI.
00:05:31.080 I have no idea.
00:05:32.000 We're still doing an investigation.
00:05:33.380 But I'm saying generally speaking, we need competent people to run our systems.
00:05:39.140 And when we choose to say that we don't really care about competency anymore, we're not going
00:05:43.220 to hire you if you're a straight white male.
00:05:45.080 You have to have some other qualification.
00:05:47.760 We're going to hire you based on your characteristics, your skin color, your gender, your sexual
00:05:51.700 orientation.
00:05:52.300 Why would that matter?
00:05:53.120 I have no idea.
00:05:54.020 but we often see airlines at the forefront of promoting this kind of thing, that they hire
00:05:58.940 an all-female cabin crew or all the flight attendants on today's flight are LGBT. I don't
00:06:06.140 care about that. I want competent people. I want the best people in charge of these complicated
00:06:11.580 systems because we all put our lives at risk. When we're traveling, we're out and about living
00:06:15.660 our lives. We trust the system. We trust the competency of these complex systems. And that
00:06:20.940 is falling apart and we're seeing more and more examples of it. Truly, truly horrendous. Very,
00:06:25.680 very sad. Okay, moving on. I want to talk about this incredible report that came out on Friday.
00:06:30.420 The U.S. Treasury Office has listed Canada in its memo on cutting out funding operations for global
00:06:39.300 terrorism. So we've talked a lot about the war in Iran and what's happening over there. Well,
00:06:43.260 what the United States is also doing is cutting off Iran's terrorism networks and really trying
00:06:48.080 to get to the bottom of this. The U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control has designated
00:06:52.640 16 individuals and entities led by Hezbollah financier, a former public investment official,
00:06:59.580 ala Hassan Hamei. And they're basically saying this guy runs a network of companies and they
00:07:06.900 all just help to fund terrorism. It's all just money laundering to support Hezbollah. Quote from
00:07:13.060 the press releases, individuals and companies located in Lebanon, Syria, Poland, Slovenia,
00:07:17.480 Qatar, and Canada have been involved in numerous economic projects and are estimated to have
00:07:22.280 enabled the division of over $100 million since 2020. The network represents a critical source
00:07:27.600 of funding for Hezbollah, which continues to embrace violence despite calls to disarm.
00:07:33.440 Unbelievably embarrassing that Canada is listed on that list, that we are the ones that are a
00:07:39.440 problem, that when you're talking about sanctions from the US government to go after terrorist
00:07:43.300 groups that, and again, Hezbollah is an Iranian proxy. It is funded by the Iranian regime to
00:07:50.860 spread terrorism based out of Lebanon, but they operate all over the world. They operate increasingly
00:07:55.580 in North America and Latin America, and it's Canada. Canada is named in the operation for
00:08:01.760 terrorism, money laundering, and it gets worse because it's not just specifically, like vaguely
00:08:09.800 Canada. Specifically, it listed a British Columbia logistics firm as being the source of some of this
00:08:17.340 money laundering for Hezbollah. So again, from this report released by the US Treasury, it says
00:08:23.660 that key among them of the terror networks here is Raouf Fidel, CEO of Seven Seas for International
00:08:31.620 Trading and Logistics in British Columbia, described as a Canadian extension of Hamey's
00:08:36.320 network the action blocks assets and bans us from dealing with this company amid questions in canada
00:08:43.440 but local enforcement from agencies like the rcmp kind of embarrassing guys like we need to clean up
00:08:49.680 our own house here i've talked about this many times i've had sam cooper on the show he is the
00:08:54.480 foremost investigative journalist exposing these networks that operate in our country our country
00:09:00.480 is being taken over by the bad guys and we don't really seem to have the capacity to fight back
00:09:05.600 against it. Part of the problem is that we treat these terrorist groups with kid gloves, including
00:09:10.240 Hamas. Did you know that the CBC has a policy where they will not call Hamas a terrorist group?
00:09:14.960 Heaven forbid we offend the terrorists by calling them terrorists. This is a clip from a committee
00:09:20.320 on March 10th, Conservative MP Kerry Diot asking Mike Feigelman of Honest Reporting Canada about
00:09:26.800 the CBC's official policy not to refer to Hamas a terrorist group as a terrorist group. Let's roll
00:09:32.560 roll my clip. It was very interesting when you said that you indicated that a CBC executive
00:09:38.420 said that the network shouldn't refer to Hamas as a terrorist group, even though the government
00:09:45.260 of Canada has recognized them as a terrorist group since 2002. Why should the public be alarmed at
00:09:52.600 this? Well, in the Canada Gazette, it is publicly listed that they are a terrorist group. Their day
00:10:00.400 job is to strap a suicide vest on themselves and with the intent of maiming and murdering
00:10:06.320 innocents when our media sanitized language it effectively legitimizes the actions or at least
00:10:14.240 it distorts people aren't fully aware that what these people do what their intentions are is to
00:10:20.000 wipe israel and jews off the map so it is it is really misrepresenting the facts on the ground
00:10:27.920 language matters diction matters inflation a stagnant economy low growth a trade war

00:11:55.100 Goldie Gomory, a former MPP for the PCs in Ontario, she's an outspoken Iranian dissident
00:12:00.380 and activist. And we reported on the show that she was receiving death threats from people in Canada,
00:12:05.800 Iranian officials, IRGC members, threatening a former Canadian politician and public
00:12:10.980 representative and saying that they're in the country. Why are these people in our country?
00:12:15.500 We reported it and we had Sam Cooper on last week.
00:12:18.340 We talked about it a little bit.
00:12:19.460 We have learned now that the FBI has stepped in.
00:12:22.840 The FBI has stepped in and is doing the thing that Canada is supposed to do.
00:12:27.040 So the DOJ has seized Iranian intelligence websites behind that $250,000 bounty for beheading a Canadian politician.
00:12:35.480 This is according to Sam Cooper over in the Bureau.
00:12:37.840 Again, you really should go over and subscribe.
00:12:39.440 He is the best investigative journalist in the country.
00:12:42.420 And yeah, we have the Americans coming in and taking care of the messes that we are allowing to create in Canada because I have no idea. It's just very, very bad.
00:12:52.400 Okay, so Black Locks Reporter, a friend, another independent investigative research company, Black Locks Reporter, had this huge report that came out about how the feds have basically just admitted that letting in all those international students, all those young people from India, have displaced thousands of Canadian jobs.
00:13:10.320 So reading from a Black Locks report here, policies enabled by two successive immigration
00:13:14.680 ministers, both under the Liberal government, have cost thousands of Canadian students jobs
00:13:19.280 an internal federal memo, declares the Department of Employment for the first time admitted
00:13:24.380 that 18% jobless rate for Canadian students was due to a large number of foreign students.
00:13:30.900 Well, duh, we've been talking about that on this network for years upon years.
00:13:35.240 And yes, this does contradict earlier claims by former immigration minister Sean Fraser and former immigration minister Mark Miller. Those were both the immigration ministers under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal Party. They're both still cabinet ministers under Mark Carney. Same but different, but really just the same.
00:13:52.860 So this memo came from the federal immigration minister.
00:13:56.260 It came out on November 18th, according to Black Lives Reporter, and it acknowledges that the labor market outcomes have worsened since 2023.
00:14:04.460 In November 2022, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced that the liberal government was suspending limitations, making foreign students work only 20 hours per week.
00:14:14.220 He said it was critical to the well-being of communities.
00:14:16.940 This was, again, back in November 2022.
00:14:18.980 Let's roll that clip.
00:14:19.480 An economy that just a few months ago had nearly a million jobs that were available and businesses have been trying to fill those jobs.
00:14:27.880 Today's announcement builds on certain measures we've shared previously, including an announcement that we made at the beginning of August for postgraduate work permit holders whose permit has expired or was soon to expire.
00:14:38.600 Now, foreign nationals who permit expired or will expire between September 20th of last year and December 31st of this year can continue to work in Canada for an additional 18 months.
00:14:48.860 eligible foreign nationals who are currently in Canada can also work while they wait for a new
00:14:53.280 permit or for their permit to be extended. And as Blacklock reported, the change granted over
00:14:58.860 1 million foreign students access to the labor markets. Really unbelievable. Like, what did you
00:15:03.740 think was going to happen? You have all of these students coming in and they're willing to work for
00:15:07.800 basically nothing, right? Obviously, they're going to displace Canadian students. Really pathetic
00:15:13.000 and unbelievable. At least they're admitting it, I guess. But the damage that they have done to
00:15:17.560 young Canadians is just abhorrent. Okay, final story I want to talk to you about today is that
00:15:22.680 Global Affairs Canada is shuttering $800 million in foreign aid climate fund. This is reported by
00:15:31.160 Juno News. The federal government is planning major cuts to taxpayer-funded foreign aid.
00:15:36.440 One of the programs being shut down is an $800 million international climate change financing
00:15:42.080 fund. Why were we doing this in the first place? Really unbelievable. But let me just point out
00:15:46.400 that this is the kind of program that I have been very critical of over the years and that the
00:15:50.560 Conservatives have been very critical of over the years. So the fact that the Liberal government is
00:15:54.440 actually waking up and getting rid of this kind of crap, this kind of nonsense, this kind of
00:15:59.200 just terrible policies that don't do anything and just wasting Canadian money on foreign countries
00:16:04.000 instead of focusing on our own country, the fact that the Liberals are actually getting rid of it
00:16:08.080 shows progress, shows that the country is shifting, that the Kearney government is taking a bit more
00:16:15.180 responsibility and really pivoting hard away from Trudeau era policies this is the kind of stuff
00:16:21.340 that Trudeau built his legacy on the whole idea that Canada sends money everywhere because of
00:16:25.980 climate change the fact they're not doing it anymore is a big win for the country all right
00:16:30.620 folks this is all the time we have every day thank you so much for tuning in I'm Candice Malcolm this
00:16:33.820 has been the Candice Malcolm show we'll be back again tomorrow thank you and god bless
