00:00:00.000 So I've heard so many complaints from people about nominations being opened during an ongoing UCP
00:00:05.300 leadership race. You know, Danielle Smith has said she would consider reopening some of those
00:00:09.500 nominations in the areas where local members felt like the process wasn't fair or where someone was
00:00:14.200 disqualified improperly. That being said, we currently have a nomination contest ongoing
00:00:19.320 where the sitting education minister, Adriana LaGrange, is being challenged for her seat by
00:00:24.740 Andrew Kloos. Now Kloos, he's the co-founder of a group called Hold the Line and he's very well
00:00:30.460 known in the region. There's about a thousand members in the region that are part of his group
00:00:34.640 and there's 996 UCP members in his riding. So he has a lot of publicity for the work that he's done
00:00:40.020 with this group, which basically sought to help people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and by
00:00:44.860 vaccine coercion. For example, you know, if someone lost their job because they were unwilling to get
00:00:49.480 the vaccine, the group would provide financial support or otherwise help them find a job.
00:00:53.960 Things like that. He said he was motivated to run in the race because he thinks LaGrange showed a
00:00:59.320 complete lack of support for the freedom movement. He's going to be running against LaGrange on August
00:01:04.220 18th and it's already too late to purchase a membership for that contest. You had to purchase a
00:01:08.780 membership 21 days ahead of the vote, similar to how if you want to vote for the UCP leader, you have
00:01:13.620 to have a membership by August 12th. So that's definitely something to keep our eye out for. This could
00:01:18.220 be the first time where we see, you know, a sitting UCP MLA lose their nomination to a new
00:01:23.340 candidate. So I will keep you guys updated with how many members we see in the UCP as of next Friday
00:01:29.020 when the cutoff is done and we'll have some results for you in about two weeks as to who won that
00:01:32.980 nomination contest.
