00:00:00.000 Well, the man who led the NDP to a disastrous result in the last federal election may be
00:00:11.680 in line for a $350,000 government payday.
00:00:16.300 Jagmeet Singh is being considered for the top job at Destination Canada, that's the
00:00:21.440 National Tourism Marketing Organization.
00:00:24.500 Before his eventual defeat, Singh repeatedly propped up the minority liberal government
00:00:29.540 under Justin Trudeau. Critics might see this appointment as a payoff for that. With Singh as
00:00:36.000 leader, the NDP won just seven seats with 6.3% of the popular vote. That's the worst result in party
00:00:43.120 history. Singh is thought to have zero experience in the tourism industry. Liberal MPs have blocked
00:00:50.620 a probe into the Gordie Howe bridge revenue sharing deal with the United States. MPs voted
00:00:56.780 five to four to stop a commons committee hearing into the deal that gives the U.S. half of all
00:01:03.680 revenues generated from tolls on the bridge between Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan.
00:01:09.040 Given that the prime minister capitulated to American demands regarding Gordie Howe International
00:01:13.980 bridge toll revenues and subsequently provided inaccurate information to Canadians about the
00:01:19.440 deal, and given that many serious questions remain about the impact of the deal on Canadian
00:01:25.500 taxpayers and businesses, the committee, a, order the Department of Housing,
00:01:31.240 Communities, and Infrastructure to produce all drafts of proposed agreement
00:01:35.540 in principle for the New Deal related to the Gordie-Howe International Bridge
00:01:41.500 within two weeks of adoption of this motion.
00:01:45.520 Not going to happen.
00:01:47.000 This post by Conservative Party leader Pierre Polyev.
00:01:51.100 Liberals vote to shut down hearings into Kearney caving and covering up giving half our Gordie Howe Bridge tolls away for nothing in return.
00:02:02.260 Canadian taxpayers paid the full $6.4 billion construction costs.
00:02:06.700 Prime Minister Kearney appeared to mislead Canadians about the terms of the deal, saying the bridge debt would be paid before the U.S. got its share.
00:02:17.000 That turned out to be false.
00:02:18.360 our guest today is former mp and national critic michelle ferrari welcome michelle hi mark how
00:02:26.620 you doing i'm fantastic how are you well you know what we live in the twilight zone so you just got
00:02:33.340 to roll with it and uh we live in upside down world that's this is where we are but the sun
00:02:38.220 is shining so i won't complain but here's an example of what some see as maybe upside down
00:02:43.520 world here's the prime minister of canada mark kearney uh oddly breaking cracking up a little
00:02:50.080 bit in the middle of a sentence that you wouldn't think would warrant that but let's watch you know
00:02:55.520 i just really want to hammer this point home we're working to make the lives of our citizens better
00:03:03.120 okay uh we're working to make things better for canadians
00:03:07.200 isn't that funny i don't know can you make sense out of that shall i go on my tyrant now mark
00:03:14.400 because uh listen if you don't laugh you'll cry um this guy is blatantly lying and he's cracking
00:03:23.680 up and he doesn't take the misery and suffering that his government has created seriously because
00:03:30.080 it's not felt on him and this is a liberal playbook they have the inability to have empathy
00:03:36.080 if they're fine and their bank accounts are fine then who gives a about everyone else that's how
00:03:41.120 they operate and so i'm just going to break this down because if you're going to the barbecue
00:03:44.880 circuit and you have somebody who's telling you that canada's gotten better then let's just let's
00:03:50.000 just break it down so he references health care the median wait time for a general practitioner
00:03:57.600 referral to treatment went from 18.3 weeks in 2015 to 29 weeks in 25 in 2025 that's up 56
00:04:07.440 oh hang on i got so much more i got so much more access to care well six million canadians still
00:04:14.000 don't have access to a doctor in this country how many people are dying waiting for care mr
00:04:20.080 carney that you say you're making life better for health care 23 746 patients died on waitlist in
00:04:27.680 2024 to 2025 in one year in one year okay let's keep going shall we he brings up education not
00:04:36.640 even a federal jurisdiction but anyway the fifth canadian 15 year olds recorded their lowest ever
00:04:43.840 PISA scores in math and reading in 2022. Okay. Then let's talk about housing. Hmm. Housing has
00:04:52.080 went up 70 to 80% since 2015 under the Liberals. Food banks, 2.2 million visits in one month.
00:05:01.300 One in three are children. This is the highest in history. Child poverty, it is double the 2020 rate.
00:05:09.060 double adolescent suicide ranks 33rd 33rd among countries measured by unicef violent crime up
00:05:18.100 57 homicides up 10 sexual assaults up 74 extortion 297 hate crimes 245 anti-semitic hate crimes up
00:05:29.940 342 but i think the thing that people feel the most mark when he wants to say that he's working
00:05:35.940 to make Canadian lives better is their taxes. So the average Canadian now is paying 42.3%
00:05:42.860 of their family income versus 35.5% for housing, food, and clothing combined.
00:05:49.620 Yeah, I'm tempted to say that the medical assistance in dying is probably the fastest
00:05:55.040 growing service, if you want to call it that, in Canada. That's the other grim statistic.
00:06:00.800 so that so this is where it gets really diabolical because you can't access and the people that are
00:06:07.360 uh most harmed by this mark are the most vulnerable so we saw this in committee when i sat on the human
00:06:13.440 committee the human resources committee advocates for disabled folks people who are living in extreme
00:06:18.480 poverty they're just asking for made at this point and then you have politicians who yell and scream
00:06:25.040 when alberta says okay we're gonna allow doctors now to refer private mris it's it's helping like
00:06:31.840 what do you want would you rather people die waiting for care or would you rather them get
00:06:35.520 have the choice for made so you're saying it's okay to have the choice for made but not an mri
00:06:40.560 like get your priorities straight and don't like i think we're in this world now where you're gonna
00:06:46.960 have so much division mark because this prime minister has the audacity to stand in front of
00:06:52.160 people with a smirk on his face and tell you that life is getting better when not
00:06:57.200 one single thing not one not one has gotten better in the last 11 years under liberal policy
00:07:07.040 yeah maybe that's why he was smirking because he knew what a big fat lie that was when he
00:07:11.920 said it because it's uh it's so untrue especially what he says about the economy
00:07:17.360 you know i mean that we're fine yeah 42 percent of manufacturing businesses in canada are
00:07:27.440 considering or have left canada like that's two million jobs you know mark i'll leave uh readers
00:07:34.720 and viewers with this so the liberal whip mark garretson does these videos and they're very
00:07:41.120 telling of where the Liberals are struggling and it's an important read or gauge on what's actually
00:07:47.920 happening. So Mark Garretton only does videos when something is sticking. So he did this big video on
00:07:53.440 the Gordie Howe Bridge and he lied. He reiterated his Prime Minister's lie about the deal that he
00:07:58.640 lied about and then he recently did a video about what the role of the opposition is and in that he
00:08:05.760 said it is not the role of the opposition to attack or ask questions of character in leadership
00:08:15.040 and that is very very telling because that's exactly the question we should be asking
00:08:21.040 by him saying that is telling you that it's sticking because people are starting to see
00:08:26.400 the real side of who mark carney is and character absolutely decides policy character absolutely
00:08:33.040 decides leadership and character absolutely decides unity or non-unity and division in this
00:08:38.420 country. When in your lifetime have you ever seen Canada so divided, Mark? I don't remember a time
00:08:45.000 that I've seen it quite this divided, but I will tell you that the latest Angus Reid poll suggests
00:08:50.780 that the Conservatives are now just four points behind the Liberals. I mean, polls are polls,
00:08:56.440 right? The Nanos all had the Liberals way ahead. It just depends on what you believe. But
00:09:01.060 If the Angus Reid poll is more accurate, it suggests that people are coming around to the idea that maybe Mr. Carney isn't everything he was cracked up to be.
00:09:11.200 And now we have this appointment here, which I know is going to not sit well with you and other conservatives.
00:09:18.160 The man who led the NDP to this terrible result in the last federal election.
00:09:23.280 That's the election, as you know, that you were not successful in.
00:09:27.680 but he's in line for a $350,000 gig at the top job in a field that he has no experience at.
00:09:36.540 This is at the Destination Canada.
00:09:38.480 How well did you get to know Jagmeet when you were there, if at all?
00:09:42.580 Not well.
00:09:43.380 I mean, we obviously sat in the same room and we passed each other in the halls
00:09:47.700 and Jagmeet had a very negative experience when he came to Peterborough
00:09:51.520 and I actually apologized to him because people were throwing rocks
00:09:56.280 and uh i don't know if they threw rocks at them but they did get a little bit physical which i
00:10:00.040 have no patience for i'm like that's not how we do business uh but i also truly understand people
00:10:05.960 frustration when they can't afford to eat or house themselves and their children aren't in
00:10:09.800 in in distress so i understood the frustration um but i think i think your question is bigger
00:10:16.600 right like okay do you have transferable skills to be a leader possibly you know what you were
00:10:21.640 the leader of a of a political party a federal political party that's not the issue i have with
00:10:27.240 jagmeet being considered the issue i have is backdoor deals that we have seen repeatedly
00:10:33.240 what did he do in exchange for this offer so everything we've seen up to this point people
00:10:38.600 crossing the floor these are back room deals mark where somebody is promised something and they they
00:10:44.600 give up something and compromise canadian's well-being in exchange for their own personal
00:10:50.120 game. And that is the character that we have to assess when we are going to vote. Back to what
00:10:56.480 Mark Garrett's and the Liberal Whip's point is. Absolutely character matters. Jagmeet Singh
00:11:01.680 literally sunk this country. He literally sold out Canada. He could have helped Canadians. I can't
00:11:09.620 even count how many times there was a non-confidence vote where he could have really moved the needle
00:11:14.280 and prevented so much of the damage that was done to this country and he didn't and now you're
00:11:20.580 starting to see oh okay well this is what he gets there is always something in return and it's back
00:11:27.480 room deals and it's the corruption that canadians are so done with because they're sick and tired
00:11:33.960 and now they've they've lumped all politicians together because there are a few bad apples
00:11:39.500 really really bad apples that are ruining it for everyone and that's part of the strategy in my
00:11:46.040 opinion is to make voters apathetic to say who does what does it matter i'm not going to vote
00:11:50.120 just give up who cares they're all the same they're all corrupt and that's how they get you
00:11:54.720 because you check out because you don't trust any of them and jagmeet is at the top of the scale of
00:12:00.060 that this guy is all about show this is the guy that wears the you know i forget how much money
00:12:06.280 his Rolex. This guy comes from wealth. And yet he's the guy that's going to advocate for policies
00:12:11.320 that have created the highest incidence of child poverty in history. And the guy who was supposed
00:12:16.960 to work for unions and the workers, the NDP completely left their people. And Jagmeet is
00:12:23.580 the reason they did it. Yeah, it sure looks like there was some kind of quid pro quo,
00:12:28.280 like the liberals knew that they owed Jagmeet Singh. I mean, look what Jagmeet did. He sacrificed
00:12:33.160 his own party in favor of the liberals. It was more important for him to keep
00:12:39.220 Pierre Polyev from becoming Prime Minister of Canada than it is to elevate his own party. So
00:12:44.500 what ended up happening? Well, New Democrats said, well, there's no point to voting for the
00:12:49.560 NDP. After all, we're just getting more liberals. So might as well throw our vote in favor of Mark
00:12:55.420 Carney. And that's how he ended up with 43% of the popular vote. And the NDP ended up with
00:13:01.260 a little over 6% and the worst result in its history. So he threw his own party under the
00:13:07.240 bus. I tell you, if I was a new Democrat, I would not want this guy anywhere near any
00:13:12.820 halls of the halls of power again. But what do you think? Does this smell of the kind of
00:13:20.360 quid pro quo that might have taken place discussions? Look, you keep supporting us.
00:13:26.940 We'll stay in power. If we stay in power, we'll make sure that we'll take care of you.
00:13:30.760 And now it's time. Now it's essentially payoff time for this individual. What do you think?
00:13:37.780 I think you're exactly right. I think this is the way corrupt people deal. They put their own
00:13:44.440 personal interests above the welfare of their country and the people of that country. And
00:13:49.180 that's not just me saying that. That's the stats that I read to you earlier of a decline in every
00:13:56.360 every industry every sector of our of our country is declining we have a we have a prime minister
00:14:04.980 who's not only allowing decline he's now managing it and he's selling it as though he's making your
00:14:12.020 life better and pattern recognition will save you folks i can't stress this enough they have shown
00:14:19.760 you time and time again who they are and that uniting canadians is not their priority power is
00:14:27.760 and it's it's very it's very depressing and i and you know i feel this from the people on the ground
00:14:36.500 every day they feel so frustrated but i'll tell you a day in politics it takes time you know it
00:14:44.200 takes time for people to recognize the unfortunate part is a lot of people can't afford to wait
00:14:49.640 like i took two calls yesterday from people who are living in their car there's nowhere for them
00:14:57.800 to live they're they're not addicts they're not they're just people who got behind in their bills
00:15:04.200 and they lost their house and it's these are real human consequences to bad policy
00:15:11.480 and i think you know canadians have to start to think about their own children and their
00:15:15.560 grandchildren and we are in a very tumultuous time with a leader who doesn't tell you the truth
00:15:23.320 and until you have that you will never have unity again you can't you cannot build a civilization
00:15:29.960 or a nation on lies a leader that smirks his way through news conferences but with the minutes that
00:15:37.640 we have left his party also blocked a probe into the gordie howe bridge revenue sharing deal
00:15:44.660 I mean, he has come out and said, this is a good deal.
00:15:47.300 I mean, if it's so good, why not come clean and show all aspects to it?
00:15:52.760 But the problem is that he appears to have misled Canadians.
00:15:55.920 I mean, let's face it, when he first came out and said, no, this is a profit sharing
00:16:00.320 deal and the Americans will get their share after the debt is paid.
00:16:05.040 And then Bloomberg released a transcript of part of that deal.
00:16:09.420 And it turns out that that was not true.
00:16:11.460 so he was already caught in a lie right there and now we have uh unfortunately a numerical edge for
00:16:18.400 the liberals in these committees and they're able to block a probe into something that i think a lot
00:16:23.140 of canadians have questions about what do you think pattern recognition you know mark carney
00:16:30.380 does what he does because the people allow him to do it and that's a bit that's a very problematic
00:16:38.160 he didn't mislead he lied and then he blamed it on a hat and a sunday morning like this is the
00:16:45.820 epitome of a non-leader i've seen how he speaks to women i spoke with a very loyal liberal the
00:16:52.280 other couple weeks ago she says i'm a card-carrying liberal i will never change my vote michelle
00:16:56.680 but i do not like mark carney and i said why and she said he's arrogant he has no respect for women
00:17:04.580 and he's out for himself he's an opportunist always has been and always will be and there's
00:17:09.820 a reason why the uk coined him the unreliable boyfriend and if you have nothing to hide
00:17:16.020 then you don't shut down meetings and that is who the liberals are and that is the message
00:17:21.400 they're sending to canadians that they can get away with crimes basically which is exactly the
00:17:27.280 same policy they've created for criminals in this country wow you allow to grow will
00:17:32.160 and yet she'd still vote for the guy that's the thing that's what that's what's i think that's
00:17:39.140 where my frustration lies of like why are you why are you hurting others out of brand loyalty yeah
00:17:46.380 how do people find you online i'm on instagram michelle ferrari canada i'm on youtube i'm on
00:17:54.780 x i think i'm michelle lahey ferrari i think on their facebook all the things my website's
