00:00:00.000 The reality is that someone is trying to put their thumb on the scale of this campaign not
00:00:04.560 happening in our country not here in Canada but in China and we now have proof of this. So here
00:00:09.540 is reporting from Juno News the CCP election interference campaign is boosting Mark Carney
00:00:15.700 as their rock star candidate. So here let me just read a little bit from Juno News the task force
00:00:20.640 dedicated to securing Canada's elections from foreign interference announced it has detected
00:00:24.400 a coordinated campaign by a Chinese Communist Party back to news channel to promote coverage
00:00:29.600 of liberal leader Mark Carney. Amplified coverage of Carney includes posts identifying him as a
00:00:35.880 quote, rock star, unquote, and highlighting his pro-China views, of course. So on Monday,
00:00:40.800 the security and intelligence threats to election task force at site revealed it had detected the
00:00:46.740 state-backed Chinese WeChat platforms had been attempted to influence the Chinese diaspora's
00:00:52.140 view of Carney. Attempts included amplifying his experience and credentials. The information
00:00:57.180 operation was launched by Yuli Yuman, WeChat's most popular news account. Intelligence reporting
00:01:03.620 links Yuli to the Communist Party in China and their Central Political and Legal Affairs
00:01:08.620 Commission. This according to Lori Ann Kempton, who is the Assistant Secretary for the Privy
00:01:14.360 Council's Office of Communication during a press conference on Monday. And we have a little bit of
00:01:20.380 that press conference. Here is what it looked like, folks. We are aware of an information
00:01:25.100 operation targeting the 45th general election on the social media platform
00:01:29.620 WeChat. The information operation was launched by Yoli Yomian, WeChat's most
00:01:35.580 popular news account. Intelligence reporting links the Yoli Yomian account
00:01:40.860 to the PRC, Chinese Communist Party, Central Political and Legal Affairs
00:01:45.840 Commission. The content of this information operation contains story
00:01:50.820 about the Prime Minister, Liberal Party of Canada leader, and candidate Indo-Pian, Mark Kearney.
