00:00:00.000 German member of the European Parliament, Christine Anderson, wrapped up her tour of Canada in Montreal, Quebec,
00:00:10.080 after having met Canadians associated with the freedom movement in Calgary, Cambridge, Toronto, and Whispy.
00:00:18.640 I spoke with Anderson before she left Canada to go back to Europe.
00:00:23.780 Conservative leader Cheikh Bouniev said that your views are vile and have no place in our politics.
00:00:28.760 The MPs that you met were not aware of your views and finished the statement by saying,
00:00:33.840 frankly, it would be better if Anderson never visited Canada in the first place.
00:00:38.480 She and her racist, hateful views are not welcome here. 1.00
00:00:40.880 Well, I feel very sorry that Mr. Bouniev feels this way.
00:00:44.920 All I can say, I had a lovely time meeting with the members of his party.
00:00:50.300 At no point do I see where I expressed hateful and racist views, as he puts it.
00:00:56.780 Like I said, I feel very sorry that he feels that way.
00:01:01.520 But no one gets to define me and not even Mr. Bouniev.
00:01:05.120 You do not get to define me.
00:01:08.100 I know what I stand for.
00:01:09.320 I know what I fight for.
00:01:10.680 Like I said, I will not apologize for anything.
00:01:13.440 And so my question is, are you even worth the votes that you have been getting in the past?
00:01:19.580 And I highly doubt that at this point.
00:01:22.860 Anderson has been both a popular and now controversial figure in Canada.
00:01:28.300 I admit her being a vocal supporter of the Freedom Convoy,
00:01:31.620 a vocal opponent of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,
00:01:34.940 who she heavily critiqued when he came to address the European Parliament last year. 0.86
00:01:41.460 Mr. Trudeau, you are a disgrace for any democracy. 0.79
00:01:45.680 Please spare us your presence. 0.99
00:01:48.740 Thank you.
00:01:49.420 The way how obnoxious Trudeau would actually trample on fundamental rights,
00:01:54.520 that really got me going.
00:01:56.720 And I was like, oh my God.
00:01:58.400 And, you know, what is he doing?
00:02:00.180 What is he doing to the people?
00:02:01.820 But the fact is, we've been seeing this in virtually every single Western democracies.
00:02:07.060 So I will speak up on anyone violating fundamental rights.
00:02:12.420 Just seeing how the drugs started rolling here in Canada.
00:02:16.640 And actually, they didn't only roll in Canada.
00:02:20.680 They symbolically rolled all over the world.
00:02:24.400 And it was just that spark of hope that millions of people around the world needed
00:02:29.860 to see that they are not alone in being, you know, ostracized by their governments,
00:02:37.600 that it did happen in other countries too.
00:02:40.300 And it was just that spark.
00:02:42.300 Like I said, a million of people around the world needed
00:02:44.820 to start opposing their governments and the restrictions and took a stance.
00:02:52.060 And the Canadian Freedom Truckers, they actually sparked all of that.
00:02:57.800 And that's, I just thought it was befitting to come over here
00:03:03.320 and meet the people that made this all happen.
00:03:06.560 I am mRNA free, so I never took the jab.
00:03:11.080 So I was actually prevented from entering Canada.
00:03:15.120 So I would have loved to be here putting boots on the ground,
00:03:19.040 which I would have gladly done, even though it was freezing cold, as I was told.
00:03:24.040 I would have gladly done that, but I simply couldn't.
00:03:27.480 You met with Tamera Leach when you were in Alberta.
00:03:30.360 What do you make of the fact that the woman pays these years in prison? 1.00
00:03:35.220 Well, see, that's just the point.
00:03:37.180 If someone being involved in opposing government, protesting government,
00:03:43.420 organizing a huge platform to let the government know
00:03:48.240 that they, in fact, have unacceptable views,
00:03:52.180 it just goes to show that we are no longer in a functioning democracy.
00:03:59.100 And any government resorting to measures like that
00:04:02.880 and literally taking political prisoners,
00:04:05.960 that is a huge alarm bell that should go off in anyone's ear.
00:04:13.180 And yeah, like I said, these are the very first signs
00:04:17.340 by which you can recognize that you are about to lose freedom, democracy, and the rule of law.
00:04:26.520 Canadian figures have denounced your political party,
00:04:29.720 the alternative for Germany, as comments on the Holocaust.
00:04:33.520 What's your response to that?
00:04:34.860 Well, I would like to say this.
00:04:37.800 Okay, what we have seen in the last three years in particular,
00:04:42.080 there have been so many parallels to what happened as the Nazis came to power.
00:04:48.800 And if you point out those parallels,
00:04:52.380 then you are automatically being accused of being a Holocaust denier
00:04:57.520 or trivializing the Holocaust.
00:05:00.360 But the question really is this.
00:05:02.580 If you vow never again,
00:05:05.040 then you need to know the mechanisms
00:05:07.300 and you need to know the steps
00:05:08.960 that they took back then
00:05:10.820 to come to power and to rise to power.
00:05:13.960 And if you fail to recognize those signs,
00:05:17.720 well, guess what?
00:05:18.520 You will find yourself in the very same situation again.
00:05:22.680 So, for God's sakes, how can it be trivializing of the Holocaust
00:05:27.740 in pointing out what made it all possible?
00:05:31.960 Because if there's one question that the younger generation asked their grandparents back then,
00:05:37.640 how was this possible?
00:05:41.100 They're just astonished at how these atrocities committed by the Nazis were even possible.
00:05:47.320 And I will tell you right now,
00:05:49.780 take a look at what happened the last three years.
00:05:52.540 That's exactly how it was possible.
00:05:55.380 So anyone wanting or trying to make me out to be a Holocaust denier,
00:06:01.080 well, I am terribly sorry.
00:06:02.800 The ones that are screaming never again
00:06:05.880 are the ones they wouldn't recognize fascists 0.97
00:06:08.560 if it jumped up and bit them in their faces. 0.90
00:06:11.000 So please take a look.
00:06:12.680 What happened and what steps did they take?
00:06:16.360 Because totalitarian regimes never start out by rounding up people
00:06:20.840 and transporting them off to concentration camps.
00:06:24.400 That's the end phase.
00:06:26.600 And once you're there, then it's too late to do anything about it.
