00:00:00.000 I'm here at the Conservative Party of Canada's National Convention in Quebec City,
00:00:05.180 where two anti-gender ideology resolutions were passed by the delegates.
00:00:11.520 Now, these no doubt tap into the culture wars,
00:00:15.680 which Pierre Polyave has so far stayed clear of,
00:00:19.380 with the exception of his speech on parental rights.
00:00:23.720 And while supporting parental rights shouldn't be controversial,
00:00:26.560 it unfortunately is in Woke 2023.
00:00:28.860 I mean, activists pushing notions that parents don't know best for their kids.
00:00:33.680 Over the last three days, I've had the opportunity to speak to many delegates at this convention,
00:00:38.200 and I asked them if they think that the Conservative Party of Canada
00:00:41.240 should have anti-gender ideology policies in its next platform.
00:00:46.180 Here's what they told me.
00:00:47.640 There are some resolutions that may be debated this weekend on gender ideology,
00:00:51.520 touching on stopping the transing of the children,
00:00:54.760 as well as to protect women's spaces and sports from biological males. 1.00
00:00:58.860 Do you think the Conservative Party should adopt these in its next platform?
00:01:02.400 I think the party should listen to the membership and form a consensus
00:01:08.920 that is able to appeal to the widest range of Canadians,
00:01:14.460 sticking to true Conservative values and not angering or alienating anybody,
00:01:21.640 while also pushing forth family values that we can all get behind.
00:01:27.020 So one thing that Claudia has kind of steered away from are kind of more culture war issues. 0.93
00:01:32.100 At this convention, there will be a motion to ban gender transition peace for children,
00:01:36.560 and there will be a motion to protect women's spaces and sports from biological males. 0.96
00:01:41.020 Do you think these measures should be passed and wouldn't take the next artist's platform?
00:01:46.400 Well, what I know is that here it takes a very refreshing, very illustrious country,
00:01:51.360 and I thought that those issues are on the docket means that they're important to the members of the time here,
00:01:58.000 and I appreciate that he's excited to wait through the process.
00:02:02.520 I think the Conservative Party is almost the only one that still does, wouldn't go straight,
00:02:05.980 and get a real sense of what the party wants is to see leading forward.
00:02:09.900 And I think it's been very clear and very positive ways that no one can argue with about his values so far,
00:02:18.060 and I'm very confident that he's going to have good responses to whatever the issues are,
00:02:24.320 although in case he remains a challenge.
00:02:26.440 What do you hope will come out of this convention?
00:02:27.900 The same thing that we've been awful for every time is that we have the opportunity that we do for our membership to be heard.
00:02:36.480 I am a member of part of my town, so it's been fun to me for me to sit and just watch the conversations happening within my own riding
00:02:44.000 and the work that they did to come up with the palaces that were really important to them.
00:02:48.560 And it's a grassroots opportunity that a lot of parties didn't have even more,
00:02:52.540 and so I'm excited to see what happens to it.
00:02:55.040 So there are some policies that will be debated, which we can,
00:02:58.700 including a proposal to ban chanting children as well as a proposal to define women as an adult female person
00:03:06.940 and to basically say that women deserve spaces away from biological males, such as boys and heroes.
00:03:14.700 Do you think the parties should adopt these policies as part of it a lot more?
00:03:18.880 Well, everything to do with women's rights to choose lies here. 0.53
00:03:24.880 It concerns that it is already better than any other party because all conservatives don't promote it in order to persuade you.
00:03:33.220 I don't know how any parties could suggest that putting a biological male in a role in a female is beneficial to that female.
00:03:44.880 You know, they are saying that they choose to identify as the same sex.
00:03:51.660 You have to look at the rights of the women and the girls, and I mean, the conservatives in my land have already sought for that right. 0.99
00:04:00.860 The other is the right, you're saying, to children to grow up in a healthy environment.
00:04:05.120 That is, to me, that is, to me, that's the best part.
00:04:08.780 And why is they put there as anything about any policy that is promoted by government that would separate the parents' children and education system,
00:04:23.280 for example, the right to guide the children's choice.
00:04:28.460 It should be noted that these policies, while passed at convention, are non-binding, meaning that Pierre Polyev is under no obligation to have them in this next platform.
00:04:52.380 However, from what we've seen here, a lot of party members hope they will be in the next platform.
