Summary

Who's to blame for the rail line blockades across the country? The police, the provinces, the feds, the federal government, the unions, the media, and the opposition are all playing the blame game when it comes to the rail lines being blocked across our country.

00:00:00.000 There are a whole lot of semantic games being played when it comes to how do we
00:00:09.680 stop these blockades, this lawlessness that we're seeing overtake our country
00:00:13.920 from coast to coast. Some of it is the blocking of intersections for a few
00:00:17.680 hours at a time in cities across the country, some of it is the blockading of
00:00:21.680 the Thousand Islands Parkway border crossing in Ontario, stopping not just
00:00:26.160 national traffic but international traffic and then there are of course the
00:00:30.320 rail lines. Now this is a situation that's really
00:00:32.720 getting out of control because not only is it that the rail lines are being
00:00:35.760 blockaded in a way that passenger trains and freight can't travel but
00:00:39.840 we've heard from no less a source of Transport Minister Mark Garneau that some
00:00:43.280 of these rail lines are believed to have been tampered with.
00:00:46.160 This is the sort of thing that can cause derailments, the sort of thing that can
00:00:49.520 cause deaths. It cannot go on any longer and yet we
00:00:53.440 have this sort of cutesy game being played by politicians and commentators
00:00:57.520 saying well who's responsible and and how exactly do you remove them and so
00:01:01.920 forth. We've got Justin Trudeau saying well you
00:01:04.240 know this is this is up to the provinces or other levels of government.
00:01:07.440 We've got provincial governments that are passing the buck as well.
00:01:10.560 I mean let's be honest here when it comes to the Ontario blockade there in
00:01:14.880 Belleville well the OPP are most responsible and the OPP
00:01:18.960 well they answer to the Solicitor General of Ontario Sylvia Jones she's a
00:01:22.480 cabinet minister and Doug Ford's government. So Doug Ford should be
00:01:25.760 saying and doing more but so far he has been silent on this issue. A whole
00:01:30.080 bunch of people just passing the buck and that is not a good thing
00:01:34.080 because this will only escalate they will feel emboldened to continue
00:01:37.600 and we will begin to actually take Justin Trudeau at his word that
00:01:41.280 healing sessions and positive dialogue or whatever other platitudes
00:01:45.280 meaningless platitudes he's throwing out there
00:01:47.440 are actually what's at stake. It is not. The bottom line is that
00:01:51.680 every single level of law enforcement has the right
00:01:54.480 to go up to these people and say all right guys let's pack this up
00:01:58.000 off you go from the very first minute it started until
00:02:01.520 every successive minute that continued. Is it the RCMP? Yes they can do it. Is it
00:02:05.840 the OPP? Yes they can do it. Is it the local police forces on the ground?
00:02:09.520 Yes it is. Is it CN Rail Police? They actually have
00:02:12.960 their own delegated policing service and they are allowed to remove anybody who
00:02:17.280 is on or adjacent to the tracks if they see fit. And you know what?
00:02:21.440 They do it routinely every week. They take people and say off the tracks you
00:02:25.840 go and sometimes they take them away in handcuffs. They're tasked with it.
00:02:29.120 They're legally allowed to do it. In fact they're legally obligated to do it.
00:02:33.520 So we've heard from say conservative leadership candidate Aaron O'Toole who says
00:02:36.960 he would pass some legislation to make rail lines critical infrastructure that you
00:02:41.360 can't this that and the other and so forth. And I read and I go okay fine.
00:02:45.040 I guess I'm supportive of that later on down the road. He's talking about when
00:02:49.360 he's Prime Minister. It's also a little bit of a red herring. It may
00:02:53.040 somewhat be helpful but you don't need any of that. We already have the ability
00:02:58.880 and the law and power to say take these guys off the tracks ASAP.
00:03:04.000 We're seeing a lack of leadership from politicians all around all across the
00:03:07.920 board at all levels and yes across party lines because Justin Trudeau is
00:03:11.600 not getting the RCMP to do it. Doug Ford is not getting the OPP to do it.
00:03:15.680 And they hide behind this thing where they say oh we're not allowed to direct
00:03:19.920 policing. We can't just call the cops and say go get this guy and go arrest that guy.
00:03:24.000 Yes it's true they can't do that of course and I'm glad we don't live in a
00:03:28.080 country where that's a thing that actually happens. In some countries
00:03:31.520 obviously politicians do say go get my enemy go lock him up
00:03:35.440 for no good reason but come on let's stop kidding ourselves here. That's not the issue here.
00:03:40.560 Whether it's Doug Ford in Ontario, Justin Trudeau with the RCMP, you can pick up the phone
00:03:44.560 and you can call your respective police agency, the RCMP Commissioner, the OPP Commissioner,
00:03:49.120 and you can say hey guys what's going on in this situation? I mean is there not a law to be
00:03:53.360 enforced? Why aren't you doing it? Because these police agencies do report to them. They report
00:03:59.360 to Cabinet. They have people who oversee them. What you're saying that the police answer to nobody?
00:04:05.440 In this country and I think what might happen when they actually have this conversation with police
00:04:11.120 forces is some of the heads the policing will say yeah but what if we actually do go in and we take
00:04:16.480 people out and then somebody gets a little hurt when it happens because you know they don't want to
00:04:20.320 leave and they're going to be stubborn. Are you guys going to throw us under the bus? Because we have
00:04:24.640 that all across the country. Police are not supported when they do enforce the law.
00:04:31.520 So it would be incumbent on these politicians to tell law enforcement we've got your back and we
00:04:37.120 actually do permit you to enforce the law and we are not going to make things difficult. We're not going
00:04:41.760 to call a public inquiry into you guys. We're not going to ask for your heads and try and get you fired
00:04:47.200 because you did your job. That's where we're at right now. Ladies and gentlemen a few days ago Extension
00:04:52.480 rebellion activists they went to BC NDP Premier John Horgan's house and they knocked on his door and they
00:04:58.480 said we're here to perform a citizen's arrest. They did not want him to be able to make his
00:05:02.400 way to the BC legislature for the budget announcement. Hold on a second. Citizens arrest?
00:05:06.800 No that's not what that was. That's an attempted kidnapping. Now three people have been arrested and
00:05:12.240 charged as it should be but the fact that they are even musing this no matter how serious they were
00:05:17.840 with this stunt an attempted kidnapping of a premier we have gone many steps too far in this. We've let it
00:05:24.000 go way too far action is now what's needed.
