The Andrew Lawton Show was a radio show, a talk program that I hosted in southwestern Ontario

I even had the opportunity at my former employer to guest host in Toronto, in Calgary,

even nationally from time to time. And for years, it was my absolute favorite thing to do

because talk radio has just such an energy that you can't replace anywhere else.

You get to go in-depth on stories, you get to talk to people from all walks of life,

and more importantly, it's just a pure, unfiltered medium that lets you talk about the real issues

and the real stories that matter. When Candice Malcolm first came to me about a year and a half

interested in. We talked about it, but we agreed that if we were going to do it, it had to be done

And remember, I had a lot of fun on this show, but it did a lot of good as well.

I broke stories on that show that ended up changing government policy. I had in-depth

interviews with people like Maya Angelou, Florence Henderson, Stephen Harper, Justin Trudeau.

I moderated leadership debates, interviewed premiers. We did all of these things that you

need an independent, transparent, and accountable news and media platform to do. That's what True

But we can't do this alone. I've got some radio equipment from my old podcasting days,

but the times have changed a bit. We need to be able to have a professionally produced,

attractive product, myself notwithstanding, that is going to allow us to talk about the stories we've
