00:00:00.160 Justin Trudeau goes on an international junket to lecture others about climate change
00:00:04.460 and the whole world rolls her eyes. I'm Candice Malcolm and this is The Candice Malcolm Show.
00:00:13.000 Hi everyone, thank you so much for tuning into The Candice Malcolm Show. I hope everyone out
00:00:16.220 there had a wonderful weekend and I hope you had a great Halloween celebration. I'll just say,
00:00:20.720 for me, I love Halloween. So when you're a little kid, Halloween is just the best. There's so much
00:00:25.420 anticipation. There's so much build up. You sort of have like your events at school. You get to
00:00:30.200 dress up at school and everyone in your neighborhood starts dressing up or starts
00:00:34.260 decorating their home. You start decorating your home. There's like a lot of anticipation
00:00:37.260 building up to the big night, which is Halloween. And then there's so many different ways that you
00:00:41.420 can sort of celebrate Halloween. You can go out trick-or-treating. You can go to a haunted house.
00:00:45.760 You can go watch scary movies with your friends. You can stay home and hand out candy. There's lots
00:00:50.520 to do, lots of excitement. And again, being a kid on Halloween is the best. And then you get
00:00:55.220 older and Halloween kind of changes. It's not really about getting scared and going trick-or-treating.
00:01:00.300 It's more about, you know, wearing costumes and going to parties and that kind of thing, especially
00:01:04.200 in university. So Halloween is different. It's still fun. Then you leave university and the whole
00:01:09.620 appeal of just like going to a party or going to a bar in a Halloween costume kind of loses its appeal.
00:01:14.540 And so for me, there was like a while where there's just nothing really to do on Halloween. So it
00:01:18.820 sort of changed. I lived in a city. I lived in an apartment building. There were no kids around.
00:01:23.140 There's no trick-or-treaters. So there's no point in getting candy to hand out because no one's coming
00:01:27.380 to the door. There's no kids around. There's no real point in decorating. And Halloween just sort
00:01:31.760 of loses some of its fun. But then you have your own kids. And when your kids get excited about
00:01:37.800 Halloween, it becomes like as exciting as it was when you were a kid, if not more, because you kind
00:01:42.220 of get to see it all through your child's eyes. So we're sort of at a stage in our household where
00:01:47.480 the kids just get really excited, especially my son. He's almost three and he just loves the idea
00:01:52.660 of Halloween. He loves the decorations. He loved getting dressed up. We took him trick-or-treating
00:01:56.220 for a little bit. He wasn't as into that because he was a little scared to go up to the doors and
00:02:00.800 stuff like that. But he loved being at home handing out the candy to the other kids, the bigger kids
00:02:05.160 who were coming trick-or-treating. So we just had a great time and it really was fun. Now I want to
00:02:11.280 point your attention to a tweet that was making some attention online. Some people shared it with
00:02:16.680 me. And to me, this is just one more reason why the left is totally insane. And one more reason why
00:02:22.960 for your own mental health, you should stay off of Twitter, stay off of social media, because it is
00:02:27.700 just a totally insane platform. So this tweet comes from an individual who is a, he's a doctor. He's a
00:02:34.720 professor. He is the head of Brown University School of Public Health. So he's the head of a public
00:02:39.880 health school at an Ivy League university in the United States, the best and the brightest,
00:02:44.840 top medical experts and practitioners here. So this is Dr. Ashish Jha, I believe I'm pronouncing
00:02:52.360 that correctly. Dr. Jha said this, kids going trick-or-treating was safe last year. It is
00:02:57.700 exceedingly safe this year. No need for the kids to wear a mask if they're staying outdoors. Unless of
00:03:03.400 course the mask is a scary part of the costume and then he does a little funny winky face. So this is
00:03:08.600 this is correct. And you know, this is the medical opinion of someone who is very prestigious,
00:03:13.560 uh, has, has a very, very prestigious position. And, uh, so what is the reaction? Of course,
00:03:19.000 well, this guy gets totally mobbed. Um, people are outraged that he would say this and, and you really
00:03:23.960 see people sort of like diving deep to try to find an example of why this guy is wrong. And so you see
00:03:30.840 tweets like this, what about the positive air pressure when the door opens or a bunch of kids close to
00:03:36.940 one another screaming trick-or-treat until vaccinated? I still think there should be caution.
00:03:41.180 So just a couple of points about this one. Twitter is just so mean-spirited. You can't
00:03:45.100 even put out a fun, lighthearted tweet, a Halloween tweet, or an innocuous medical
00:03:49.900 tweet that says something that's so obvious. Yes. Uh, kids are running around outside. COVID isn't
00:03:54.140 a threat when you're outside. Uh, it's kids, kids don't really get COVID the, as, as I covered in my show
00:03:59.580 on the weekend, I wrote about my son column. I might do another show dedicated on this because it's just
00:04:03.020 such an important issue, but kids don't, don't really get sick from COVID. Kids don't really
00:04:07.340 die from COVID. That's not really a thing. The death rate, uh, the case mortality rate for COVID
00:04:12.860 with children, including teenagers under the age of 20 is 0.002. 0.002 is the case mortality rate
00:04:21.340 in Canada. Uh, there's been 17 deaths for people under the age of 20 in Canada out of a population of
00:04:27.260 about 8 million people. So this whole idea that kids are at risk of COVID is wrong. And again,
00:04:32.140 no, so they're outside, they're running around, kids aren't really getting COVID anyway. And the
00:04:36.220 interactions are very short, very brief. So, so we, this idea that we have to push paranoia
00:04:41.580 in our society about COVID is wrong. And then the other is just the mob mentality on Twitter.
00:04:46.220 You know, again, someone puts out an innocuous tweet that's pretty accurate and based on his medical,
00:04:50.700 uh, expertise and experience. And, you know, you have all these sort of leftist Democrat, uh, liberal
00:04:57.260 types, just completely, um, replying with insanity, um, saying that the sciences are on their side,
00:05:03.820 even though, you know, they're talking to a very prestigious, um, head of a public health unit at, uh,
00:05:09.180 Ivy league university in the U S just totally, totally silly and ridiculous. Look, if you enjoy

00:06:03.740 was that Justin Trudeau went on another international junket. The entire focus of all of his visits,
00:06:09.740 all of his trips has been to lecture the world, lecture others on climate change. And I will explain
00:06:16.140 why it is completely ridiculous for him to do that. Now, I just want to point this out. Last
00:06:20.780 time Justin Trudeau went on one of these junkets, his staff told Bloomberg that Justin Trudeau envisioned
00:06:26.700 himself as the Dean of the G7. Angela Merkel was stepping down, which means that Justin Trudeau is
00:06:32.460 the longest serving leader of the G7. And so he wants to be considered the leader and the Dean. And
00:06:38.380 that is how he thinks of himself. That is how he goes about these international junkets. It's kind of a
00:06:43.820 joke because as everyone knows, Justin Trudeau doesn't have a lot of worldly experience. He didn't
00:06:48.540 have a lot of work experience before becoming prime minister. He kind of just like partied his
00:06:52.940 way through his twenties and thirties and then woke up at age 40 and said, you know what, I'd like to
00:06:57.020 be prime minister. And Canadians rewarded him with that by the age of 41. So that's the Justin Trudeau
00:07:02.860 story. He's not a very serious guy. And you can see that as prime minister, he usually embarrasses
00:07:07.500 himself. He usually wears silly costumes and he's kind of the butt of a lot of jokes. Regardless,
00:07:12.780 he still wants to be seen as the super serious leader. And so we see that Justin Trudeau on these
00:07:18.780 junkets. And the second one is climate alarmism. Everything that Justin Trudeau talks about,
00:07:23.260 all of his messages, all of his announcements, it all ties back to climate alarmism. He doesn't
00:07:27.820 even call it climate change anymore. He calls it the climate crisis and he treats it as though it's
00:07:32.860 the biggest issue going on in the world right now. I mean, can you imagine being that sort of out of
00:07:37.340 touch with the world? We're still grappling from the impacts of the global pandemic. There has been
00:07:43.340 an absolute ravaging of the global economy and it's still present everywhere. You can see it with the
00:07:48.540 supply chain problems and the amount of time it takes to get things shipped. There's still huge supply
00:07:55.340 chain issues. We're still dealing with higher unemployment. So many businesses that went under so
00:08:00.460 many people who have lost their jobs, still the sort of threat, a looming threat of a fourth wave
00:08:06.060 and more lockdowns to come. And then that's not even getting into the financial side of things,
00:08:10.700 the rapid out of control spending that Western countries have taken on, including and especially
00:08:15.660 Canada, the sort of threat of ongoing inflation that could go to hyperinflation. You know, the
00:08:20.700 governments are just printing mass, mass amounts of money. They've never really experimented with this
00:08:25.500 kind of levels of debt before. And there is a lot of concern about the overproduction of money,
00:08:30.940 meaning the devaluation of money and the impact that will have. And yet we don't really hear a lot
00:08:36.140 about that. Instead, we hear a lot about climate change as if that's the biggest and the only threat
00:08:41.180 to the world. And then the second element at play, so the first one is climate alarmism. And the second
00:08:46.700 one is still the COVID theatrics, because we are still living in this sort of post-COVID,
00:08:52.140 post-pandemic world. All the world leaders want to heavily virtue signal about wearing masks and
00:08:57.660 taking all these precautions, lecturing everybody about getting vaccinated. And that's sort of the
00:09:02.380 second theme that we see throughout. Both of them are based on virtue signaling. Both of them are based
00:09:08.380 on promoting their own woke credentials, woke left-wing credentials. And they're both based on pushing a
00:09:14.300 socialist far-left worldview and far-left policies into the world. So those are the major issues at play.
00:09:21.740 The first stop on Justin Trudeau's little whirlwind across Europe here was in the Netherlands. Justin
00:09:27.340 Trudeau went on a bilateral visit to the Netherlands to talk about, you guessed it, climate change,
00:09:32.700 fighting extremism. I guess they're talking about far-right extremism, which again isn't really
00:09:37.340 a threat at all, but that's the threat that Justin Trudeau pretends is the biggest threat
00:09:41.420 in the world. And then the climate threat, that's according to the CBC. So we see this headline
00:09:45.820 over on the CBC. Trudeau says Canada and the Netherlands must join forces to fight extremism
00:09:51.900 and climate threat. So again, we're supposed to believe that the biggest threats in the world
00:09:56.540 right now are the threat of what extremism, which Trudeau talking about conspiracy theories,
00:10:04.300 intolerance, marginalized, angry people online. Supposedly that's the biggest threat to the world,
00:10:10.220 as well as their climate alarmism. And so out of this, we saw an announcement that Canada and
00:10:15.020 the Netherlands were going to be working together to create a new NATO center based on climate
00:10:21.020 security. So there will be a center for climate security in NATO. Canada will be a leader in this
00:10:26.620 starting in 2023. So, you know, on the upside, Justin Trudeau is actually talking about national
00:10:32.060 security, which is rare and probably a good side, but the downside will be that it is heavily steeped in
00:10:37.900 leftist ideology focused on climate alarmism. And of course, the media being the media,
00:10:43.180 they always fixate on Justin Trudeau, the celebrity. They love to find stories about how
00:10:48.780 Justin Trudeau is famous within certain pockets of society in other countries. And so we see this
00:10:54.220 from the CBC's JP Tasker. Of course, there's this dude in the Netherlands, who's the head of a leftist
00:11:00.700 green party. And he looks like Justin Trudeau, I guess he has a resemblance. And so this is what JP
00:11:07.260 Tasker over at the CBC focused on, you know, again, during Justin Trudeau is supposed to be
00:11:12.060 doing something super serious and the media instead fixate on stupid little celebrity elements.
00:11:17.660 So there's this guy in the Dutch parliament, head of the green left party, and he kind of looks like
00:11:23.020 Trudeau. So that's what JP tweets about. He says, Trudeau took questions from the Dutch MPs assembled for
00:11:29.100 his speech this morning. He was pressed by Jesse Claver, leader of the green left party,
00:11:32.940 about Canada's climate ambitions. Trudeau answered and then quipped, nice hair to Claver, who bears a
00:11:38.620 striking resemblance to the PM. Jesse Claver has been dubbed by some media here as the Justin Trudeau
00:11:45.020 of the Netherlands. He bears an uncanny resemblance to our PM. So again, trying to make it seem like
00:11:50.940 Justin Trudeau is this big global celebrity that the Netherlands, you know, has this politician and
00:11:55.660 they call him the Justin Trudeau of the Netherlands. Why? Because he sort of looks like Justin Trudeau.
00:12:00.780 Look, this guy's got kind of like, like curly hair long for a politician, long for a political leader.
00:12:06.380 He doesn't really look like Justin Trudeau on his face, but he, you know, he's, he looks young and
00:12:10.780 his hair is kind of out of control. So no, he doesn't really bear an uncanny resemblance to our PM.
00:12:17.260 No, he doesn't bear a striking resemblance to him. He just has similar kind of hair to how Justin Trudeau
00:12:22.460 used to wear his hair like 10 years ago. And the media is fixating on this. Why? I have no idea.
00:12:27.420 But it is because they're obsessed with Justin Trudeau's looks. They're obsessed with the
00:12:31.340 celebrity aspect of Justin Trudeau. They swoon over him. They think he's good looking and they
00:12:35.740 see this guy and they think he's good looking. So they want to talk about his looks and they want
00:12:40.300 people in Canada to think that Justin Trudeau is just this like well-known, revered leader.
00:12:45.020 But no, Justin Trudeau is pretty much the butt of a lot of jokes around the world. And a lot of that
00:12:50.060 comes from the way that he behaves on these international junkets, the way that he acts, the way that he
00:12:54.940 virtue signals some of the silly things that he says that are so steep in woke ideology,
00:12:59.580 or just the lack of self-awareness he has when he gets dressed up, when he dances, when he does
00:13:04.700 all kinds of silly, silly things. Okay. So Justin Trudeau moves on from the Netherlands and he goes over
00:13:11.340 to Rome for the G20 summit. Trudeau goes with his finance minister, Christia Freeland, who really has
00:13:16.620 no business being the finance minister. Let me just say that she came into politics as a journalist. 0.95
00:13:22.140 She was a journalist for Bloomberg for many years. She wrote books about really wealthy individuals.
00:13:27.580 And then she never really worked on the business side. She came into the Trudeau government. She was
00:13:31.980 given the foreign affairs position because she's sort of a worldly person. She speaks a bunch of
00:13:36.700 different languages. She was at least better fitted for foreign affairs. Then she got promoted
00:13:41.100 because she's such a good lackey to Justin Trudeau. She's such a good sidekick that Trudeau promoted her
00:13:46.380 to finance minister, even though she really doesn't have the background in finance. It's really
00:13:50.940 embarrassing to Canada to have a finance minister that has so little background and experience when
00:13:56.460 it comes to banking and finance. So here we have Christia Freeland and she is also becoming a total
00:14:02.300 joke on the world stage. So she, apparently this is a tweet from Politico, a US reporter. He tweeted this.
00:14:08.460 He said, when a minister, Canada's Christia Freeland arrives 45 minutes late to a 30 minute press
00:14:13.660 conference. And then her team announces that only Canadian journalists are allowed to ask her
00:14:18.220 questions. Maybe stay home in Canada if you only want to talk about Canadians, he writes.
00:14:23.820 Pretty devastating stuff. And again, it shows how Canada is not really as revered as some liberals
00:14:29.740 like to think. The Trudeau government isn't really as respected among the international media. The
00:14:34.460 international media don't give them the same sort of kid glove treatment as the Canadian media does.
00:14:39.180 And the international media are always kind of a little surprised by just how unprofessional Trudeau and
00:14:44.700 his team are. And some of the really crazy demands that again, the Canadian journalists put up with
00:14:49.420 because they love the liberals. They want the liberals to do well. They worship Justin Trudeau or because
00:14:54.460 they are on the dole. They are receiving their salaries from the Trudeau government. And so they can't
00:14:59.260 really criticize them. They just sort of do what they're told. So this guy from Politico, he goes on,
00:15:05.260 his name is Ryan Heath. He says, it gets better. The spokesperson actively, physically intervened to
00:15:10.700 stopped Stuart Lau and I from asking a quick question as the presser wrapped and ushered
00:15:15.980 Freeland out of the room. So again, just really, really unprofessional, really embarrassing kind
00:15:20.380 of Bush league amateurish tactics by our finance minister and her team. And just shows just how
00:15:26.620 over their head and out of their league they are when it comes to these international junkets. So
00:15:30.860 Justin Trudeau, while they were at this G20 summit in Rome, he met with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson,
00:15:36.620 and they discussed, you guessed it, climate change. According to the prime minister's office
00:15:40.940 release from that, they talked about their shared priorities in advance of the COP26 summit. So
00:15:46.220 Trudeau says that climate progress was made at the G20 summit, but Canada wanted a more ambitious plan.
00:15:52.700 So they put out this press release saying that climate change was at the top of today's agenda.
00:15:57.900 We focused on how we can increase climate ambition during this critical decade and what more we can do
00:16:02.860 to phase up coal, reduce methane emissions, increase support for adaption and fund nature-based
00:16:07.820 solutions. So I just quickly want to say, look, so there's three parts to Trudeau's international
00:16:13.100 junket. The first was a bilat in Holland. The second one was this G20 meeting in Rome. And the third one
00:16:18.380 was COP26 in Scotland, which we will get to next. So he does these three different meetings and all of
00:16:23.340 them, he was obsessed and almost solely focused on climate change. Well, the point of the G20 meeting,
00:16:29.260 it's the leaders of the top 20 economies on planet earth that get together to talk about finances and
00:16:34.780 the economy. The whole point is to talk about economic security, talk about the global financial
00:16:41.340 system. It is not to talk about climate change. And the very next meeting that you're going to on
00:16:45.900 Sunday is entirely focused on climate change. So for one G20 meeting for one day, you couldn't just
00:16:51.740 talk about global finances. Trudeau always had to swing it back, always had to make it about his pet
00:16:56.140 little issue and not focus on some of the bigger issues in the world. Like I talked about before,
00:17:01.260 the issues with supply chain, it's still a huge problem. Massive, massive disruptions around the
00:17:07.100 world with supply chain issues, which is why it's taking so long to get things. There's huge weights
00:17:13.020 everywhere. It's a major problem. Trudeau doesn't want to talk about that. He doesn't want to talk about
00:17:16.220 monetary policy. We know that from the election campaign, he said that he doesn't think about
00:17:19.820 monetary policy, but inflation and the threat of hyperinflation is a huge problem. And perhaps just,
00:17:25.820 again, one day, Mr. Prime Minister, spend one day of your year talking about the serious financial
00:17:30.940 and economic issues and not virtue signaling about climate. But alas, this just shows again what a
00:17:37.580 total embarrassing joke our government is, especially on the world stage. That's when you can see it the
00:17:43.020 most. So next Sunday, Trudeau jetted off to the COP26 meeting in Scotland. So what exactly is COP26?
00:17:50.380 So the UK is hosting this, the 26th annual United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties
00:17:57.020 in Glasgow from October 31st. It started on Sunday and it goes all the way to November 12th. COP just
00:18:03.500 stands for Conference of the Parties. So the COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate
00:18:09.100 action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
00:18:14.540 More than 100 countries will take part. And so this is just sort of the follow-up to the Paris Agreement.
00:18:20.060 Now we are going to have probably the Glasgow Agreement, which will be even more ambitious in
00:18:25.260 terms of reducing emissions and pushing the sort of anti-energy, anti-oil worldview. And so the message
00:18:33.740 coming out of COP26 was eat less meat and fly less, which again is just such an ironic message given
00:18:40.940 that we had, what, hundreds and hundreds of planes flying in from all over the world to attend this
00:18:46.300 silly little summit. According to our friends over at the National Review, the big climate change summit
00:18:53.020 welcomed up to 30,000 officials flying in on planes. Private jets flying into the COP26 meeting will blast
00:19:00.220 more CO2 than the Scots pump out in a year. This according to the daily record, a US outlet. So
00:19:07.260 there will be more emissions from this one weekend of climate change virtue signaling than all of
00:19:12.620 Scotland puts out in an entire year. Just think about that for a second and think about that next
00:19:17.820 time you hear Justin Trudeau bloviating about climate change and how we all need to do more. So there were
00:19:23.420 more than 400 private jets carrying world leaders and business executives into COP26, which will blast
00:19:29.500 13,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, the Sunday Mail revealed. So again, just, just pure hypocrisy
00:19:36.860 over by the global elites. Okay. I just want to share this one quick tweet because it's pretty amusing.
00:19:41.980 This comes from Canadian journalist, Glenn McGregor, who was very, very annoyed. Glenn McGregor,
00:19:47.500 by the way, is a CTV journalist. He is a member of the parliamentary press gallery, and he is very,
00:19:53.020 very annoyed that he had to wait in line in order to get into this conference. So here he posts this
00:19:58.540 photo of all these people waiting to get into the conference. He says this massive lineups at
00:20:03.820 delegate media security screening points for COP26 in Glasgow, not COVID safe, not smart security,
00:20:10.700 poorly done Scotland. And then he has a following tweet. Glenn McGregor is clearly very annoyed that
00:20:15.180 he had to wait in line here. He follows up and says, I've been to G7s, G20s, APEC summits,
00:20:21.100 Summit of the Americans, and the United Nations General Assembly. And I've never seen anything like this
00:20:26.380 before. The UN and host countries should be embarrassed. Shows poor planning. Okay, Glenn
00:20:31.020 McGregor, so sorry that you had to wait outside for a few minutes. I know it must have been just
00:20:35.260 horrible. Well, the idea of a big conference welcoming, what, 30,000 people? I mean, anyone
00:20:40.140 who's ever been to a festival or anyone who's ever been to Disneyland knows that when you're dealing with
00:20:44.940 huge crowds, there's often huge lines. And this whole idea that is not COVID safe. Give me a break.
00:20:51.020 One, you're outside. You're going to be safe outside. Number two, I guarantee that all of these
00:20:55.820 people are vaccinated because they're exactly the type of people who would be vaccinated. I wouldn't
00:20:59.740 be surprised if they required vaccination in order to get in. And third, from best I can tell, everyone's
00:21:05.100 wearing a mask. So this whole idea that you just cry that it's not COVID safe anytime you don't get your
00:21:10.780 way is pretty pathetic. I just want to point this out quickly, as it is with any of these international 1.00
00:21:16.780 junkets. The whole thing is hypocrisy. Obviously, all these elites fly in from all over the world. They
00:21:21.660 lecture us about eating less meat and flying less. Meanwhile, they fly to their heart's content all
00:21:26.380 over the world. That's always been the case. And then the second major thing is that these conferences
00:21:30.620 always punish advanced developed Western countries. They always punish the United States, particularly
00:21:37.100 Canada as well. And there's no buy-in from the rest of the global community. There's no buy-in from
00:21:42.300 countries like China and India, both of which are the largest submitters. You're not going to have a 0.94
00:21:47.900 plan to reduce emissions around the world without the buy-in of China and India. And I'll just quickly 0.99
00:21:52.860 note how basically these two countries are saying no to this entire scheme. So China's leader Xi Jinping
00:21:59.020 did not even bother to attend COP26. I actually kind of give him credit for this. He didn't want to
00:22:03.660 fly in and sort of be part of this whole hypocritical show. So he attended by video link. And basically,
00:22:11.020 China sends a modest climate pledge to Glasgow, according to the South China Post. The updated
00:22:17.420 document includes President Xi Jinping's pledge last September that China will reach peak carbon
00:22:22.220 emissions before 2030 and achieve neutrality, also known as net zero before 2060. Compared with China's 0.64
00:22:28.780 previous pledge submitted in 2016, there are also higher commitments to reducing emissions. So China
00:22:34.140 didn't bother to show up to the meeting. And the commitment that they sent in was really modest
00:22:38.940 compared to what the Western countries are demanding. So India also rejected calls to
00:22:43.500 announce what their net zero carbon emission target would be. So you have China saying,
00:22:48.940 yeah, we'll probably get to it around 2060. And India saying, no, we're not getting to it at all, 0.65
00:22:54.380 which again, makes it a lot harder for those in the West to claim that this is a global effort
00:22:58.380 when the largest emitters China and India are clearly not on board. And of course, there is the
00:23:03.180 elephant in the room, which is that Canada and Justin Trudeau have not met their own targets.
00:23:07.420 Canada is not meeting its own targets. And yet here we are lecturing the entire world and saying
00:23:11.660 that none of these targets go far enough. Well, it's only a little bit hypocritical. So
00:23:16.620 despite being in office since 2015 and implementing a wide ranging set of policies and schemes to tackle
00:23:22.860 climate change, including the carbon tax, Trudeau's record isn't anything to brag about. And who could
00:23:28.220 forget this story over at TNC, Liberals are set to miss their 2020 emission targets by up to 99%. That
00:23:35.820 was from True North. That story came out last year. So the Liberals are poised to miss their 2020
00:23:40.540 greenhouse gas emissions target by up to 99.2%, according to the latest government data. In his
00:23:46.300 first term as prime minister, Justin Trudeau proposed a plan to reduce emissions in 2020 to 17% less than
00:23:53.180 2005 levels with a goal of achieving a 30% below 2005 benchmark by 2030. In 2005, Canada admitted 730 million
00:24:03.580 tons of greenhouse gases. According to Trudeau's plans, emissions in 2020 should be down to 606 tons.
00:24:10.140 Yet government data revealed that Canada emitted 729 million tons of greenhouse gases this year.
00:24:17.420 And then there was this embarrassing report saying that Canada's emissions have increased the greatest
00:24:22.220 in the G7 since the Paris report. So this is from the left-wing Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.
00:24:27.980 They say that Canada has shown the greatest emissions increase since the G7 and the 2016
00:24:35.340 Paris Accord. So again, how can Justin Trudeau be taken seriously as the Dean of the G7 when his
00:24:41.340 biggest priority is climate alarmism and he can't even meet his own targets, despite implementing pretty
00:24:47.660 widespread sweeping policies in Canada, including the carbon tax. So Justin Trudeau's priorities don't
00:24:53.660 match up with his abilities. He can't actually implement the things that he really,
00:24:56.860 really cares about. And that is because his abilities and his priorities are completely
00:25:01.820 counter to the world that we live in, real life, human nature. You cannot just simply move away
00:25:07.500 from the source of energy in a country. And Justin Trudeau is just so naive to even be trying. He's so
00:25:13.100 out of his league. He is so embarrassing. And every time he goes to one of these international junkets
00:25:17.340 or shows up on the world stage to start lecturing everybody about climate alarmism, it becomes increasingly
00:25:22.780 clear that this man should not be taken seriously. I'm Candice Malcolm, and this is The Candice Malcolm Show.
00:25:27.740 I'm Candice Malcolm Show.
00:25:32.700 I'm Candice Malcolm Show.
