Justin Trudeau is wearing a face mask on a steam train in British Columbia, Canada. What does this have to do with COID? And why does it matter if it's a tourist train or a commercial train? Plus, why is this even a thing?

00:00:00.000 Some things remain constant, and one constant we can always rely on is Justin Trudeau's hypocrisy. 0.85
00:00:06.040 And in this particular case, he's not even trying. 0.84
00:00:09.560 He's not even trying.
00:00:10.800 This is a picture or a video of Justin Trudeau doing a photo op in British Columbia.
00:00:17.180 Great to see you. Great to see you guys.
00:00:20.020 Of course, of course.
00:00:24.860 So there he is, glad-handing, meeting people, hanging out.
00:00:28.560 You may think, well, what's the big deal?
00:00:29.880 Well, notice anything on their faces, because I certainly didn't.
00:00:35.280 This is an Okanagan, British Columbia steam train.
00:00:38.720 It's not federally regulated, which is relevant because the federal government has mandated masks on all trains.
00:00:45.700 You cannot board a train, a via rail train from Toronto to London or from Calgary to anywhere else without wearing a mask.
00:00:54.140 And the government says this is the science.
00:00:56.580 The science says trains are unsafe.
00:00:58.480 But when it's a political photo op in Okanagan, I guess the science is different.
00:01:04.200 Have you been able to figure out where the science stands on this?
00:01:07.080 Are masks needed on trains or not, Harrison?
00:01:09.220 Well, so what I think I've come to realize, Andrew, is that if the train is stationary, if it's a steam train, if it's one of these sort of tourist trains,
00:01:18.060 despite the size, despite the number of people in it, that is when obviously the science tells us you're fine from COVID, you're safe from COVID.
00:01:25.900 As soon as that train actually becomes properly mobile and actually takes you from one place to another, from one city to another, and it gets federally regulated, then of course COVID becomes a problem.
00:01:37.380 So I think I'm coming to realize this, Andrew.
00:01:39.840 If it's two things.
00:01:41.480 If it's a stationary train or it's a touristy kind of stop, then COVID won't be a problem.
00:01:48.160 And COVID won't be a problem if the prime minister is there.
00:01:50.660 So he kind of has this weird force field.
00:01:52.760 He can stop COVID wherever he goes.
00:01:54.840 Only, however, when you and I get on a train, Andrew, like when the rest of us get on a train, that's when COVID becomes a problem.
00:02:01.820 So it's slowly starting to make more sense for me.
00:02:04.600 But again, I can understand the confusion from a lot of Canadians when they see this, when they see the fact that we're the only country in, what is it?
00:02:11.700 In the Western world, basically, that is holding on to these mask mandates, that is holding on to these punitive rules.
00:02:18.620 It's starting to become a reality that we are just such an outlier in this.
00:02:22.860 And the prime minister is so caught up in this mask theater that none of it really makes sense.
00:02:29.240 There's no amount of thinking.
00:02:31.060 There's no amount of research.
00:02:32.400 There's no amount of medical data that you can look at and look into to find where any of this makes sense, unfortunately.
00:02:39.920 I think that's where we're at.
00:02:41.200 Yeah, and that's the whole thing.
00:02:42.680 And people, the true and on defenders are actually hilarious on Twitter right now because they'll say something like, well, it's not mandated there.
00:02:51.440 It's not federally regulated.
00:02:53.080 I'm like, you're missing the point.
00:02:54.540 The point is not like no one's suggesting they're breaking the law.
00:02:57.540 The point is that they're ignoring.
00:02:59.360 If the law is supposed to be rooted in science, then the science would change when you're on a steam train versus on another train that's going in a commercial setting.
00:03:09.540 And by the way, I have to mention on a steam thing, this was like the greatest day ever for the train operators because if you're powered by hot air, having Justin Trudeau on gets you going miles and miles per hour.
00:03:21.740 So I think that's why they had him on.
00:03:23.400 He was just a new fuel source for a steam-powered train.
00:03:26.660 But I think the reality here is that it's the same as when we saw him masked up while he was doing one thing, and then the next day he's with the 90-something-year-old Queen Elizabeth II with no mask.
00:03:38.580 But then he's wearing the mask when he's with Boris Johnson, but Boris isn't wearing the mask at this rally and this event.
00:03:43.840 And it's just, it's completely made up.
00:03:46.160 Now, and the rules are that, and I think you were right about this, Harrison, the rules are that the COVID is not an issue when Justin Trudeau doesn't want it to be an issue.
00:03:53.900 When he wants to live life mask-free, no issue at all.
00:03:56.580 When he wants to do whatever else is on his mind that he involves mandating things, that is when COVID's an issue.
00:04:03.640 And Howard, we can't even figure it out.
00:04:05.560 We can't unlock this information.
00:04:07.100 He is the great oracle.
00:04:08.580 So we all have to wait.
00:04:09.680 When he takes his mask off, that's when we can.
00:04:11.620 When he puts it on, we have to put it.
00:04:13.580 Actually, no, we always have to keep it on, even when he takes his off.
00:04:17.140 That's the big annoyance here.
00:04:18.600 So if you're a Canadian who is fed up with this, looking at this is like, it's just enraging.
00:04:23.840 It is enraging.
00:04:24.700 You're like, why do I have to, on a 12-hour flight from, I don't know, Toronto to Tokyo, keep my face covered?
00:04:31.020 But this guy who's mandating that can do whatever he wants.
00:04:43.580 So if you're a Canadian that can do something, that can do anything else. 0.97
00:04:46.640 Thank you.
00:04:47.260 Thank you.
