00:00:00.000 Let's talk about just complete media ignorance of some very large stories. The vaccine mandates,

00:00:06.560 the vaccine passports, there have been some glimmers of hope in coverage where reporters,

00:00:11.600 especially the longer the pandemic has gone on, have doggedly advanced on this story. The questions

00:00:18.180 about why are mask policies so inconsistent and why do we need these mandates in Canada and not

00:00:23.040 elsewhere? But Rupa Subramanya, our colleague at True North, who also writes for a variety of other

00:00:29.160 publications, had a tremendous piece in Barry Weiss's substat Common Sense, which delved into

00:00:35.720 federal court documents in an ongoing trial. And these were documents filed by the court

00:00:40.580 or filed by the Canadian government in court in its defense of a lawsuit against the vaccine mandate

00:00:46.920 for air travel. And what she found is that the travel ban for the unvaccinated had no basis in

00:00:54.300 science. The panel that was responsible for putting it together was stalked by people that

00:01:00.280 didn't have scientific backgrounds, didn't have health backgrounds. The person in charge was a

00:01:05.040 bureaucrat, not a public health expert. And really this suggests, as Rupa finds in the documents and

00:01:11.320 says in her piece, that it was all just a matter of politics and not science. So certainly something

00:01:17.280 we've talked about in the past, Harrison. But the big story here on a secondary front has been that

00:01:23.320 three days later, not a single journalist that I've seen in Canada has picked up the torch and

00:01:28.460 moved on with this story. Well, this is what Canadians, I think, should come to expect, Andrew.

00:01:34.040 Independent journalists, journalists like Rupa, journalists like the ones we have here at True

00:01:39.060 North and other outlets that are actually, that have actually been holding the government to account

00:01:43.100 this entire time, continue to do their job. And the mainstream journalists, the legacy media

00:01:47.100 journalists, who many of them are on the take from the government, consistently failed to hold the

00:01:51.420 government to account. So they've, they've, this is just no different, really. This is a huge bombshell

00:01:56.400 report that Rupa wrote in Common Sense. And basically it just, it kind of confirms what we've

00:02:02.920 all known, Andrew, which is this is all based in politics. Justin Trudeau seems to have a different

00:02:08.080 definition of science than the rest of the world. And Canadians, because of that, have had to suffer.

00:02:12.640 So when, when Rupa publishes this post, not only does the legacy media not do anything,

00:02:18.300 sit on their hands. And basically by doing that covering for Trudeau, we, you actually see,

00:02:23.900 maybe it's not the journalists themselves, but you see people who are supportive of the prime

00:02:27.320 minister attacking journalists like Rupa for making the truth and getting the truth out to Canadians.

00:02:32.760 This is the biggest story that we've been living under. These draconian travel measures that have,

00:02:38.700 that have been leveled against Canadians is the most important thing that we need to be holding the

00:02:43.660 government to account over. And of course, what, what, what else should we expect? And the legacy

00:02:48.460 media is not going to do a single bit of reporting. I will say, I, I would put money on this, that in

00:02:53.460 two weeks, two to three weeks, journalists in the legacy media, maybe like the national post might

00:02:58.780 eventually come around to the story. It might eventually write the story, but of course not give

00:03:03.280 any credit to the journalist that broke the story. Where have we seen that before? And of course,

00:03:07.800 just pretend as though they're breaking news that has been broken for weeks already. It's the,

00:03:12.220 these repealing these mandates, repealing these measures that are not based in science

00:04:26.680 North, is that by and large, Canadians were better served by outlets like Fox News and GB News and even

00:04:33.020 the New York Times on a couple of occasions than they were by Canadian legacy media outlets. And

00:04:39.320 for all that we see a government that likes to harp on the importance of Canadian content and Canadian

00:04:44.300 media, Canadian media needs to step up because a lot of these stories are only getting covered by

00:04:48.980 outlets outside the country.
