00:01:00.96040% of Ontario's exports are in automobile.
00:01:06.300Pierre Polyev announced a GST tax cut for all Canadian vehicles that are made in Canada.
00:01:12.580There's a counter-protest of about 40 mostly pro-Palestinian protesters.
00:01:19.480I heard calls for the Polyev supporters to go back to Europe, something that's typically used against Jewish Israeli citizens.
00:01:27.980Conservative volunteers are urging the crowd not to engage with the protesters, which are trying to get a rise out of the estimated at least 4,000 Canadians showing up for Polyev.
00:01:39.700There's so many people here, thousands of them likely not going to be able to get into the venue.
00:01:49.660You hear a lot of people saying that they're trying to take their country back, save Canada.
00:01:58.620It seems like a lot of people hold that the liberals pose an existential threat to the future of this country.
00:02:07.360We're going to try to speak with some supporters, listen to the rally, and just get a sense of why people are supporting Pierre in such great numbers.
00:02:15.620A liberal government that has weakened our economy, left us with unaffordable housing, rising crime, and vulnerable in the face of the threats of Donald Trump.
00:02:37.380Or, are we going to elect a conservative government who's going to put Canada first for a change?
00:03:02.380Who's ready to build some homes for a change?
00:03:06.380Who's ready to stop the crime for a change?
00:03:19.380For a change, oh Canada, we stand on time, for thee.
00:03:37.440It's amazing energy from a lot of great Canadians coming together in the spirit of friendship and love and, you know, wanting to make change in this country, a positive change, right?
00:03:47.680He wants to work as hard as he can for Canada and for all Canadians to make our lives better.
00:03:52.540I'm here because after 10 years, after the last 10 years, if things continue as they are, then I don't really see a lot of hope for this country.
00:04:04.040And I think the way the media has spun the popularity of Carney, it's very dangerous.
00:04:10.640He may actually win, but he doesn't deserve to win.
00:04:16.460And I think Canadians are being deceived into who he is, what he stands for.
00:04:22.680And I think there's a lot, this election really does matter.
00:04:26.440I'm here to support Paulyev because I'm tired of the Liberals destroying this country.
00:04:32.800The last 10 years have been excruciating to live in this country.
00:04:36.700It's been very hard to be proud to be a Canadian in this country because of what the Liberals have done.
00:04:40.680And I'm here to back the PCs because of Pierre's platform.
00:04:45.900It couldn't be a better person right now to represent Canada and get this country back to where it used to be before the Liberals took over.
00:04:52.760What do you think is at risk if the Liberals win a fourth term?
00:05:41.040Anybody with half a brain that comes out to these rallies and sees what happens here and they watch what happens at Carney's rallies knows what really is happening in this country.
00:06:07.640Did you think about the energy at the rally today?
00:06:10.620It's, uh, there was a, you know, everyone's all positive and everything.
00:06:17.260So, I mean, I think, uh, I have a good, confident, um, idea of, uh, where we're going with this.
00:06:26.100I think we have a chance, a very good chance to, uh, get this election.
00:06:30.900What do you think they hope, um, the Conservative leader can bring to Canada?
00:06:35.440Pierre's right when he says, um, it's been a lost decade, like a lost Liberal decade, and you can see it all around you, like the housing prices, groceries, inflation, and everything.
00:06:47.540And I do believe in his idea of, like, asking the tax, and hopefully this is what will bring us back to where we were, right?
00:06:57.320Is there anything I didn't ask you that you think is relevant you'd like to add?
00:07:00.740I've never, uh, voted before, and the way things are going right now, uh, I'm 30 years old, but it's really come to a time where I think that I need to vote.
00:07:11.600And if I don't, like, things will get worse. Much, much, much worse.
00:07:18.240So, hopefully this is for the future. I can make a change, do something, do what I can, and I would say I'll vote. I need to vote. Everyone needs to vote.
00:07:29.280So, the rally is about wrapped up now. Uh, people have, uh, left. Pierre Polyev said that there was 6,000 people. I heard from organizers 6,500, uh, people showed up. Um, when I was in line 30 minutes prior to the doors opening, I heard from organizers that there was 4,000 people, um, in the line.
00:07:51.280Speaking to supporters, you hear things like, um, there's no other choice. Um, it's, you know, the fate of the country is at stake. There's, it seems like there's, like, a lot of, um, participants to this rally, uh, truly feel like Pierre Polyev is, is their best hope. Um, and that if the Liberals win, it's, it would be the end of Canada.
00:08:13.980Uh, we spoke to the Pleb reporter who, who explicitly said that. He thinks that if, uh, if Liberals win, Alberta will secede. There'll be a national unity crisis.
00:08:25.680There was three medical emergencies that happened. Uh, Pierre had to, uh, stop the, his speech multiple times. Of course, a lot of, uh, protesters are, uh, really hopeful and, and energetic about, and enthusiastic about, uh, a potential conservative victory.
00:08:42.620And, and we've heard a conservative majority. Um, so, uh, this has been Clayton DeMaine, uh, in Oshawa, Ontario, reporting for True North.
