On September 20th, a million people took part in the One Million March for Children protest in which they called for greater parental consent in schools and against the teaching of gender ideology in public schools. The marches saw thousands from coast to coast, including in the capital of Canada, Ottawa, and I decided to go down there and talk to some people attending this march and ask them why they were there.

00:00:00.000 On Wednesday, September 20th, the One Million March for Children took place across Canada,
00:00:06.920 with the latter being a multi-faith and multi-ethnic protest for greater parental consent in schools
00:00:14.300 and against the teaching of gender ideology to children.
00:00:19.020 The marches saw thousands from coast to coast, including in Ottawa, the capital of Canada,
00:00:24.400 and I decided to go down there and to talk to some people and ask them why they were attending this march.
00:00:31.120 So what brings you here to the Million Person March?
00:00:34.800 It's been very upsetting how schools have been teaching the ideology of the LGBT community.
00:00:46.380 Having said that, it doesn't mean that we are against the LGBT community.
00:00:50.780 We support their rights. We believe in the freedom of everyone to express themselves and live the way they want.
00:00:58.240 What we are here against is teaching the ideology of the LGBT in schools. 0.99
00:01:04.520 That's why I have this sign.
00:01:06.760 You have your freedom of practice, of life, but please don't impose it on me
00:01:14.060 and do not turn schools to a place where certain agendas get dictated on children.
00:01:22.520 Even if there are trans children, of course we understand their rights,
00:01:28.420 but still we do not want the other children to be emotionally suffering from being exposed all the time
00:01:36.740 to this kind of indoctrination.
00:01:39.560 Well, I think it's obvious, right?
00:01:42.420 I think that the government has overstepped boundaries.
00:01:47.020 They never asked us if we wanted our children sexualized through this indoctrination,
00:01:51.980 and we're here to say no.
00:01:53.740 And I feel like every single Canadian citizen who is against it should be standing up right now
00:01:58.580 while we have the floor saying,
00:02:01.160 get that curriculum, get all of that indoctrination out of our curriculum,
00:02:05.680 taking a stand for righteousness.
00:02:07.540 I'm literally here just for the kids.
00:02:09.220 I want them to leave our kids alone, teach them math and English,
00:02:13.360 leave the rest to the parents.
00:02:14.580 That's my message.
00:02:15.680 Just leave us out of it.
00:02:17.440 You do what you want with your life and just leave everything out.
00:02:20.240 That's it.
00:02:21.200 I know that this animal has been brewing for a long time.
00:02:24.900 I have many friends in British Columbia that have tried to talk to the teachers.
00:02:29.400 They've tried to talk to the school boards.
00:02:33.540 Their mics get turned off.
00:02:35.520 You know, they're treated terribly.
00:02:37.460 And I knew that I needed to be in Ottawa.
00:02:41.400 I formed a relationship with the Muslim community here.
00:02:44.760 I came out with Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson.
00:02:47.140 I wanted to meet Camille because this is a moment in time
00:02:51.260 where all the religions and races need to come together.
00:02:54.780 And so I just thought I need to get on a plane and come here.
00:02:57.880 And I'm so glad I did because the love between all the different nationalities and races is overwhelming.
00:03:05.160 And, you know, I go, I'm in Vancouver all the time.
00:03:07.800 I just thought, let's go to Ottawa and see what happens.
00:03:10.560 I also had the opportunity to speak to one of the organizers of the Million Person March, Camille Al-Sheik.
00:03:18.240 Here's what he told me.
00:03:19.160 The media has been trying to say that this is a fringe movement.
00:03:22.100 There's not a lot of people that support this.
00:03:23.980 Do you think this is kind of like the silent majority kind of waking up and just saying not we're anti-anything.
00:03:29.320 We just want parental rights.
00:03:30.320 No, we're definitely not anti-anything.
00:03:31.980 So let me make something clear here.
00:03:34.660 When you're uncertain about something, usually it's considered taboo.
00:03:40.180 Oh, my God, what are these, what's the motives?
00:03:43.200 What are these guys about?
00:03:44.600 It's very simple.
00:03:46.120 This movement came together organically because families are upset.
00:03:50.560 You had mosques organize protests.
00:03:53.000 Events like the Million Person March, which were smeared by the legacy media,
00:03:58.120 are why we need independent, non-government-funded media like True North.

00:04:10.380 In Ottawa, for True North, I'm Elie Canteynante.
