00:00:00.000 It's great news that Canada is stepping forward from the lockdown, moving into some form of
00:00:10.760 economic recovery. We're getting back to work. We're getting back to our hobbies and pastimes.
00:00:15.760 Kids are going to be getting back to school, by and large, in September in provinces all
00:00:20.600 across the country. And that's great news. But there's still a lot of anxiety, still a lot of
00:00:26.080 uncertainty. And I've got to say, politicians are not helping at all. There's a lot of downer
00:00:32.040 attitude. There's a lot of not can do, but can don't out there. And there's a lot of just not
00:00:37.460 really believing in the Canadian people, that they have the ability, they have the know-how to get out
00:00:43.620 there and do what needs to be done and do it responsibly. Are we in disagreement over things
00:00:49.200 like mandatory mask laws? Sure we are. Are we in disagreement about, well, what's actually going
00:00:54.680 on with this virus? How did it get started? Who caused it? What's the role that China played?
00:00:59.520 Some of it a bit conspiracy theory, but quite frankly, I think all these questions are completely
00:01:04.860 valid because there's still a lot we don't know out there. Every day there are medical experts who
00:01:09.620 are still disagreeing on, well, is it airborne? Is it not? To what degree is it airborne? When will
00:01:14.880 we get this vaccine? Will we even get a vaccine that actually works? So there's a lot of uncertainty
00:01:20.460 out there. And look, I know the politicians should not be giving us a false sense of security,
00:01:25.380 but right now we really need to rally the country. We need Team Canada working together.
00:01:32.120 The problem is I find Justin Trudeau, Dr. Trousa Tam and others, they've been working against that.
00:01:37.300 You will remember that Justin Trudeau, he really wanted to keep us in lockdown. He was the one saying,
00:01:42.140 oh no, it's too soon. It's too soon. Months ago when you had premiers like Ontario's Doug Ford or
00:01:47.320 Francois Legault in Quebec, who were raring to go and raring to get the country back up into life,
00:01:53.100 get our cultural life, our economic life, getting things moving again. And we're still missing all
00:02:00.180 of that right now. We're not getting it from Trudeau. We're not getting it from the conservative
00:02:03.980 leadership candidates. We see that the We Scandal says 50% of Canadians would support there being an
00:02:09.460 election soon if Justin Trudeau was found guilty of conflict of interest act violations.
00:02:14.380 Bit of a hint here, he's going to be. Mario Dion will find him guilty of all this because he's
00:02:20.160 pretty much given us all of the different pieces to come to the conclusion that he has violated the
00:02:25.360 act. So we may find ourselves with an election coming pretty soon, but I think what we need is
00:02:30.380 that positive narrative, a positive voice, vision of Canada as a strong country that can do this,
00:02:36.760 a positive inclusive nationalism that talks about, yes, building products here in Canada,
00:02:42.160 bringing manufacturing back to Canada, having this strong, vibrant community where we can
00:02:48.060 actually tackle all of these pandemic goals out there. A lot of people are very frustrated about
00:02:53.440 how to move ahead into the dining experience, how to get the schools back open safely, a lot of
00:02:59.560 competing interests and demands. And I think quite frankly, they're all legitimate. I get that people
00:03:04.820 have a lot of conflicting opinions on all this that don't follow traditional lines. But what we need
00:03:10.940 right now is leadership from on top, and we are not getting that leadership to help Canada flourish
00:03:18.700 as the great nation it is as we get out of this pandemic.
