00:00:59.980 Israel Consulate in downtown Toronto, where very emotional people accuse Israel of being
00:01:05.620 murderers and of carrying out a genocide against Palestinians.
00:01:08.960 Not only that, these people at the pro-Palestine demonstrations are very angry at Justin Trudeau
00:01:14.960 and the Canadian government.
00:01:16.540 They accuse Justin Trudeau of having the blood of innocent Palestinians on his hands.
00:01:21.940 Just as we're seeing all over the world, large crowds of mostly immigrant Arabs are protesting
00:01:27.860 in the streets after a bombing at a hospital in Gaza, which they blame Israel for.
00:01:33.020 Israel denies all involvement and blames a misfired rocket fired from inside Gaza.

00:03:07.860 Day ceremonies, prayers for Canadians who gave up their lives for this country to defend
00:03:13.240 the freedoms we have in this country, we saw mass Islamic prayers happening along Bloor
00:03:18.980 Street, which was shut down for a protest during rush hour.
00:03:22.520 Of course, this is totally acceptable, but praying at a Remembrance Day ceremony for Canadians
00:03:27.520 who lost their lives, that of course, doesn't fit with the multicultural vision presented
00:03:33.240 to us by our liberal government.
00:03:35.440 For the second night in a row, large pro-Palestine demonstrations have taken over the Bloor-Young
00:03:40.220 intersection in downtown Toronto, right outside the Israel Consulate.
00:03:43.900 This intersection is one of the busiest in the city and is likely going to be shut down
00:03:48.500 for the next few days during rush hour as these demonstrations continue.
00:03:53.100 It should be noted that these protests, despite requiring a very heavy police presence of riot
00:03:58.740 police, tactical units, and mounted police, things have remained very peaceful.
00:04:04.860 That being said, after spending time on the ground and talking to these people, there are
00:04:08.880 quite a few things that stand out to me.
00:04:10.700 For one, there are no Canadian flags anywhere.
00:04:13.820 That's because even if we're being charitable to these pro-Palestine protesters, they don't
00:04:18.280 seem to like this country very much.
00:04:20.120 In fact, they accuse Canada and our politicians of being behind the murder of their people.

00:04:30.300 And whenever you feel about the protests happening in Canada, or the conflict happening
00:04:34.400 right now between Israel and Hamas, what these protesters are expecting of Justin Trudeau

00:04:40.140 Trudeau has already condemned what happened at the Gaza Hospital as being unacceptable and saying
00:04:45.260 that humanitarian law must be followed.
00:04:48.280 The news coming out of Gaza is horrific and absolutely unacceptable.
00:04:55.500 International humanitarian and international law needs to be respected in this and in all
00:05:02.540 cases.
00:05:03.120 There are rules around wars.
00:05:04.780 But these protesters not only want Trudeau to condemn Israel for what they're doing to
00:05:09.140 Gazan civilians, they want Trudeau to unequivocally stand on the side of Palestine.
00:05:13.620 A side which refuses to condemn a listed terrorist organization in Canada, Hamas, which also happens
00:05:19.060 to be run in Gaza since 2006.
00:05:21.600 In fact, the people protesting in Toronto, as you will soon hear, believe that Hamas bears
00:05:26.460 no responsibility for what's happening to Gazan civilians inside Gaza right now.
00:05:32.100 Also, at several points throughout our coverage last night, we were confronted by people who
00:05:36.760 told us that we had to get lost to leave and that we are far-right media trying to agitate
00:05:41.600 the crowd.
00:05:42.500 As you will see from our interviews, that was not at all the case.
00:05:45.360 At one point, pro-Palestine protesters defended us as a very angry person confronting my cameraman
00:05:51.040 and I, just for asking people fair questions.

00:05:58.720 Undoubtedly, there is a level of intimidation that these protesters try to employ when a journalist
00:06:04.460 tries to explain what's happening on the ground at these protests.
00:06:07.700 As soon as you start talking to the camera or interviewing someone, a large crowd of protesters
00:06:12.500 will encircle you and listen to your every word.
00:06:15.460 And if you say something that they don't like, they will tell you.
00:06:18.500 I have covered many protests and that tactic is not something I've seen employed anywhere

00:06:24.440 Again, whatever you think about this conflict or whatever side you're on, there are things

00:06:29.000 Thousands of civilians, whether they are Jewish, whether they are Muslim, whether they are Palestinian

00:06:37.520 And nobody should be cheering on the killing of innocent civilians or justifying it in any

00:07:02.220 else is going on, is the overwhelming sentiment that they don't want civilians to die.

00:14:06.040 It also should be noted that it's unsustainable to be able to shut down the largest intersection in the city for several nights in a row during rush hour.
