Juno News - The REAL story of the presidential debate

00:00:00.000 There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born.

00:00:04.380 ABC News did reach out to the city manager there.

00:00:06.680 He told us there had been no credible reports.

00:00:09.180 The Springfield city manager says there's no evidence of that.

00:00:11.340 President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is actually coming down in this country.

00:00:15.960 The question was about you as president, not about former Speaker Pelosi.

00:00:19.160 I did watch all of these pieces of video.

00:00:21.380 I didn't detect the sarcasm lost by a whisker.

00:00:24.120 Vice President Harris, he says you hate Israel.

00:00:26.500 You did bring up something.

00:00:27.420 You said she went to negotiate with Vladimir Putin.

00:00:29.260 Vice President Harris, have you ever met Vladimir Putin?

00:00:31.760 So just to guess you know, you still do not have a plan.

00:00:34.040 Donald Trump and Kamala Harris faced off in the first and potentially only presidential debate last night.

00:00:40.180 The debate, by all accounts, was fairly boring.

00:00:42.320 And I don't think we'll see any swift exits like we did following Joe Biden's last presidential debate.

00:00:47.760 But the real story of the night was not how nervous Kamala Harris was or whether she succeeded at rattling Trump.

00:00:52.880 But instead, the story is one about the moderators who inserted themselves at every opportunity to position themselves against Donald Trump, but failed to fact check Kamala a single time.

00:01:04.980 In other words, the debate was a massive failure because the journalists responsible broke the cardinal rule surrounding our profession when they made the story about themselves.

00:01:14.320 Joining me today to discuss is Detroit radio host Justin Barclay.

00:01:17.340 I'm Rachel Parker, and you're watching Rachel in the Republic.

00:01:29.120 Well, Justin, thank you so much for being here today.

00:01:31.880 We have a lot of material to cover, so I'm just going to hop in right off the bat.

00:01:36.800 What the heck was that last night?

00:01:38.640 That was something that was hard to watch.

00:01:40.560 You're telling me, I tweeted last night, I posted on X, I'm like, you know, I do this for a living.

00:01:48.500 I'm supposed to look at this stuff.

00:01:50.280 And like half an hour through, I was done.

00:01:52.860 I didn't want to watch anymore.

00:01:54.620 And I don't know, it was fatiguing.

00:01:56.960 So I'll tell you this.

00:01:59.600 A lot of talk this morning, and I'm seeing a lot on my social media, and I think there are people that are feeling,

00:02:04.840 because they understand the weight of the scenario, the weight of the situation, the moment, what we're in right now.

00:02:09.280 And I'm seeing a lot of folks and a lot of negative kind of responses just saying, boy, Trump, you know,

00:02:18.380 he really, he lost major opportunities last night, feeling like Kamala won and whatnot.

00:02:26.620 But I'm here to tell you, I don't think that if you want to pick a winner, it was probably the moderators, maybe.

00:02:31.860 But I don't think anyone won.

00:02:35.720 In fact, I think the American people lost.

00:02:39.740 And really because, let's be honest, like people are coming into this thing.

00:02:46.720 If you are on the left, you think Kamala won.

00:02:50.480 She just gave it to him and she stood there.

00:02:53.760 And they were hoping that Biden would have done that the first time around, and yet he didn't, wasn't able to, barely able to stand there.

00:03:02.300 Then if you're on the right, you think, you know, Trump did well, or you think maybe he could have done better.

00:03:09.000 But it's not going to change anything.

00:03:11.220 It will not change the way you vote.

00:03:15.320 But what we're really looking at is the people in the middle right now and the undecideds, if there is such a thing,

00:03:22.880 or the people that, like, haven't been paying attention and they're just turning everything on now,

00:03:27.260 they're getting past the summer, they get the kids back to school, and now, okay, now I got to pay attention to this election.

00:03:33.240 And those are the people who walked away even more frustrated than you and I.

00:03:39.480 Because they didn't see any substance, particularly from Kamala Harris.

00:03:43.260 What they did see was a lot of blaming Trump for everything, but they didn't get their questions answered.

00:03:53.280 And I saw that time and time again.

00:03:55.160 I don't know if you saw these clips from panels like CBS and CNN and Dr. Phil, of all people,

00:04:01.480 had panelists of people that they did these debate, watch shows and recaps with.

00:04:07.020 And there was one woman, Dr. Phil said, I wanted to like Kamala Harris, but she didn't tell me anything.

00:04:14.340 And the bottom line is, his closing argument, if anybody watches anything from the debate,

00:04:21.200 you've had three and a half years to do this.

00:04:23.820 You say you have plans.

00:04:25.360 Why aren't you doing these things now?

00:04:27.720 That, to me, was the biggest moment of the night.

00:04:34.020 It wasn't anything else that just really, I think, make or break anyone any way.

00:04:41.000 Although, I will say, I said to moderators one earlier, but I think, I really think we're at a moment now

00:04:48.320 where people are starting to see through this kind of thing.

00:04:50.940 And ABC did more damage to their credibility last night.

00:04:57.440 Yeah, that was sort of what I was wondering, if you think the American people are really awakening to the fact that there is so much media bias.

00:05:06.040 And, I mean, that was, I think, the frustrating part of that debate last night was, yes, there wasn't a lot of substance.

00:05:11.920 We weren't getting answers, as you mentioned.

00:05:13.680 But just watching the moderators bias on full display, like it was stomach churning.

00:05:18.660 It was very difficult to sit through that from my point of view.

00:05:22.100 But you're saying you think people are waking up and you think that ABC actually did themselves an event

00:05:26.760 and ultimately did Kamala a disservice by being so blatantly biased last night. 1.00

00:05:33.020 Because it was all about get Trump.

00:05:34.980 If they would have actually given her some time to lay groundwork,

00:05:39.020 and she has to be willing to do this, too, about her policies

00:05:41.680 and how they're actually going to make things better for people.

00:05:46.800 And that doesn't even have to be real, because none of it's real anyway for her.

00:05:51.300 But, like, none of it has to be real, but that's what people were looking for.

00:05:56.080 Instead, they got all this fact-check, well, apparently you said this, but that just, you know, that.

00:06:00.440 I mean, fact-checking someone with your opinion is crazy.

00:06:04.620 And the biggest part of all of the craziness with the moderators

00:06:07.720 is when David Muir interrupts President Trump

00:06:09.680 when he's speaking about the failed assassination attempt.

00:06:13.260 And I know that you have a personal connection to this, too.

00:06:17.280 But why wouldn't they allow him to at least say that?

00:06:21.740 Well, people pick up on this.

00:06:23.480 Wait a minute.

00:06:24.880 He basically said, I took a bullet for it.

00:06:27.500 And they're not even allowing him to talk.

00:06:30.220 We've got to move on.

00:06:30.740 We've got to move on.

00:06:31.420 We've got to move on to what?

00:06:32.540 To talk about racism or talk about January 6th?

00:06:35.200 People don't care about that.

00:06:36.140 They can't feed their families right now.

00:06:38.680 This is what the average person cares about.

00:06:42.820 One of this other made-up stuff, I'm telling you,

00:06:45.780 I think the average person is more frustrated

00:06:49.440 throwing their hands up in the air with all of this stuff.

00:06:52.680 They're walking away.

00:06:53.640 I don't know.

00:06:54.240 I think they did vast damage to Kamala Harris.

00:06:57.680 And I'll back this up with some polling.

00:07:00.880 The latest polling we've seen,

00:07:02.240 we've seen Nate Silver come out with the polls that indicate

00:07:04.440 there's literally no chance that she's going to be able to win.

00:07:07.320 Now, that was last week.

00:07:08.240 We'll see what happens after this debate,

00:07:10.980 although I don't think it's going to move much.

00:07:12.660 The real issue was that people don't know Kamala.

00:07:15.980 They know who Trump is.

00:07:18.020 Large numbers of people know who he is.

00:07:20.000 More importantly, the people that were interviewed

00:07:21.800 after the debate, they would say things like,

00:07:24.200 I saw several of them say,

00:07:25.240 well, we know what his policies are.

00:07:26.960 We know how things were under him.

00:07:29.140 And they were better.

00:07:31.680 We didn't even get to hear what she wants to say.

00:07:34.080 But again, they know who he is.

00:07:35.680 They don't even know.

00:07:36.760 Not only do they not know who she is

00:07:38.460 or have any idea of who she is,

00:07:40.240 but they don't even know.

00:07:42.760 Don Lamont, Don Lemon from CNN,

00:07:44.960 went out there interviewing people on the street

00:07:46.780 about a week or two back,

00:07:47.940 and he was flabbergasted,

00:07:49.720 former CNN anchor, flabbergasted,

00:07:52.340 because people didn't even know her name

00:07:54.520 or recognize her when he talked to her on the street.

00:07:57.020 So I think you had the opportunity

00:08:01.060 for her to make a splash,

00:08:02.840 and I think she did very little of that last night.

00:08:07.520 So I want to get into some of the debate moderators,

00:08:11.700 if we can even call them that,

00:08:12.960 their performance last night.

00:08:14.420 And as I mentioned to my audience,

00:08:15.920 it's probably going to leave you

00:08:17.000 with a bit of a sickening sense

00:08:18.560 just to see exactly the unfairness that went on.

00:08:20.800 So I thought we could just start

00:08:22.200 with something a little more lighthearted.

00:08:24.080 This clip from the beginning of the date,

00:08:27.000 the debate, the moderators introduce

00:08:28.580 Kamala Harris to Donald Trump.

00:08:29.880 They walk on stage and just go and look

00:08:31.560 what Kamala Harris was.

00:08:32.580 This was really making the rounds

00:08:33.660 one of the best moments of the night.

00:08:35.120 Take a look.

00:08:37.540 Kamala Harris, have a good debate.

00:08:39.540 Good to see you. Have fun.

00:08:40.600 Thank you.

00:08:43.020 So Justin, you were talking about

00:08:44.780 how people don't really know

00:08:46.420 who she is on the streets.

00:08:47.620 It seems funny that she would start off

00:08:49.620 this debate as a presidential candidate

00:08:51.760 for one of the two major parties in America

00:08:54.880 by introducing herself to her opponent.

00:08:57.060 I suspect that her advisors have told her

00:08:59.500 this was a good thing to do

00:09:00.560 to try to rattle Trump

00:09:02.980 and to get in his head early on.

00:09:04.480 It came across to me as looking very beta.

00:09:07.140 What was your take on this?

00:09:08.880 Same.

00:09:10.600 This is the thing about these debates

00:09:13.760 or these moments that people don't take.

00:09:16.140 And I think the strategists don't get this either.

00:09:17.920 They're thinking that they're going to be very crafty

00:09:22.080 and they have this moment where she goes over

00:09:24.580 and she shakes his hand and she's not afraid.

00:09:27.860 Now, you can't see it now because it's not on the screen,

00:09:29.880 but if you go back and watch later,

00:09:31.520 you'll see there's a couple of things that stand out.

00:09:34.380 Number one, she's very short and short next to him. 0.97

00:09:37.160 They were concerned about liberals.

00:09:38.800 We're coming out talking about this earlier in this week

00:09:40.560 about, oh, is she too short? 1.00

00:09:42.900 And I don't know if that's going to be a good thing.

00:09:45.140 I mean, things that I wouldn't even normally have thought about.

00:09:47.820 They think about some of the most just like superficial things.

00:09:51.900 Now that I think about it, though,

00:09:55.940 I think subconsciously this is a bit of an issue.

00:10:00.660 Her height next to him.

00:10:01.840 And I don't know what would have stood out as much

00:10:03.640 if they didn't stand right next to each other.

00:10:06.880 Another thing I noticed in that clip, he stands there.

00:10:10.700 Now, this guy is the master of these like very sort of status-creating moments

00:10:20.100 where even when he's like meeting people that he likes and whatnot,

00:10:24.560 he'll shake their hand, but he'll shake it really good,

00:10:26.600 and then he'll like pull them towards him.

00:10:28.660 He has this ability that he does this thing,

00:10:30.660 and he does it in just a brilliant way.

00:10:33.280 It kind of shows you who's bosses kind of thing.

00:10:36.180 And he did that last night.

00:10:39.140 If you see him, he stands firm.

00:10:41.080 She comes to him, which that's another power dynamic.

00:10:45.680 She has to come to him.

00:10:47.020 He stands firm.

00:10:48.280 And then if you could hear it, which I thought was really interesting,

00:10:50.860 I think they were hoping there was going to be a moment

00:10:53.160 where he would say something that would be bad,

00:10:55.540 but he said, have fun.

00:10:57.800 He tells her to have fun.

00:11:00.860 Nice to meet you.

00:11:02.140 Have fun.

00:11:02.900 This is incredible because that's completely opposite

00:11:05.960 and against what the media would project on him

00:11:08.760 as the kind of evil guy that he is.

00:11:12.040 And then lastly, what I noticed about that clip is that you could see

00:11:15.900 they built her a special podium that was shorter than his

00:11:19.640 so that she wouldn't look so short.

00:11:22.640 And you can clearly see it in that picture, in that shot,

00:11:26.240 that they didn't give us a lot of during the debate,

00:11:28.560 that two of them together.

00:11:30.300 These little things, I don't know, I'm not body language expert or anything,

00:11:35.380 but these little things, I wonder what the optics do and say to the American people.

00:11:40.080 They can't even maybe necessarily know it or articulate it

00:11:42.980 or even understand what's happening.

00:11:45.180 But inside of our brains, I mean, there are obvious things that are happening

00:11:48.440 at any moment in time.

00:11:50.400 And maybe those things will play in for this conversation.

00:11:55.200 Yeah, you definitely offer a male perspective. 0.63

00:11:57.100 I wouldn't even necessarily have thought of that moment where Trump sort of stands there

00:12:00.740 and she reaches towards him.

00:12:02.700 But definitely that is the type of thing I know of us being married that men observe

00:12:06.220 and pick up on.

00:12:07.580 So, you know, really interesting point there.

00:12:08.940 Let's now dive into a little bit of the moderators.

00:12:12.400 You all saw that clip at the beginning of basically all the times

00:12:16.240 the moderators attempted to fact check, often incorrectly.

00:12:20.260 Trump, as I mentioned already, they did not attempt to interrupt or debate

00:12:24.000 or fact check Kamala Harris once, even though there was many opportunities

00:12:27.420 for them to do so.

00:12:29.080 This next clip that we're going to play is, in my opinion,

00:12:32.080 probably one of the worst moments from the moderators

00:12:34.720 where they actually attempt to fact check Donald Trump's tone of voice.

00:12:39.160 Take a look at this.

00:12:39.980 And for three and a half years after you lost the 2020 election,

00:12:43.580 you repeatedly falsely claimed that you won, many times saying you won in a landslide.

00:12:48.140 In the past couple of weeks leading up to this debate, you have said, quote,

00:12:52.140 you lost by a whisker, that you, quote, didn't quite make it,

00:12:55.280 that you came up a little bit short.

00:12:57.000 I said that.

00:12:57.900 Are you now acknowledging that you lost in 2020?

00:13:00.420 No, I don't acknowledge that at all.

00:13:01.640 But you did say that.

00:13:02.400 I said that sarcastically.

00:13:03.060 You know that.

00:13:03.880 We said, oh, we lost by a whisker.

00:13:05.740 That was said sarcastically.

00:13:07.460 Look, there's so much proof.

00:13:09.540 All you have to do is look at it.

00:13:11.060 And they should have sent it back to the legislatures for approval.

00:13:14.120 I got almost 75 million votes, the most votes any sitting president has ever gotten.

00:13:19.100 I was told if I got 63, which was what I got in 2016, you can't be beaten.

00:13:24.300 The election, people should never be thinking about it.

00:13:27.400 An election is fraudulent.

00:13:28.540 We need two things.

00:13:29.460 We need walls.

00:13:30.660 We need and we have to have it.

00:13:32.580 We have to have borders and we have to have good elections.

00:13:35.580 Our elections are bad.

00:13:37.480 And a lot of these illegal immigrants coming in, they're trying to get them to vote. 0.96

00:13:41.660 They can't even speak English.

00:13:42.900 They don't even know what country they're in practically.

00:13:45.340 And these people are trying to get them to vote.

00:13:47.800 And that's why they're allowing them to come into our country. 1.00

00:13:50.580 I did watch all of these pieces of video.

00:13:52.840 I didn't detect the sarcasm.

00:13:54.560 Lost by a whisker.

00:13:55.360 We didn't quite make it.

00:13:56.600 And we should just point out here as clarification.

00:13:58.380 And you know this.

00:13:59.040 You and your allies, 60 cases in front of many judges, many of them Republican.

00:14:02.840 No judge looked at it.

00:14:03.540 And said there was no widespread fraud.

00:14:04.000 They said we didn't have standing.

00:14:06.540 I mean, that to me is just incredible.

00:14:08.340 Like the media here in Canada, the mainstream media, don't get me wrong.

00:14:11.080 They are brutal and they are biased.

00:14:12.820 But this just brings a whole new level.

00:14:15.200 He's arguing with Trump about his tone of voice and whether or not he was joking.

00:14:17.880 I heard that clip when it came out.

00:14:19.620 And it was very obvious to me at the time that he was obviously, we lost by a whisker.

00:14:23.500 You know, he was sort of like, read between the lines, everyone.

00:14:26.560 They stole the election.

00:14:27.300 That was what he was saying.

00:14:29.240 And this individual who covers David Meir, he covers American politics for a living.

00:14:34.440 This is his job.

00:14:35.160 And he couldn't pick up on that.

00:14:37.100 He doesn't want to pick up on it.

00:14:38.700 I mean, look, these people that do these jobs, unfortunately, a lot of them in the media.

00:14:45.000 I know this having been inside of the media, right?

00:14:48.340 I can tell you, they're not all there for the reasons you think they might be there.

00:14:54.000 A lot of them just like to see themselves on television.

00:14:57.740 Maybe they were in theater as a kid and then they just like being on the screen. 0.95

00:15:02.240 And this is just like a, there's a reason why they say like DC is Hollywood for ugly people. 0.54

00:15:07.140 Like this is just, this is kind of like the natural, and unfortunately, but that's how you end up with a lot of narcissistic people involved.

00:15:14.340 And I don't know like your entire story, Rachel, but the little that I do know of you, I feel like it's probably pretty similar to the way I approach things is, you know, I never really wanted to, I wouldn't have chosen politics.

00:15:29.500 Like that wasn't the number one thing that I wanted to talk about.

00:15:32.400 I did radio ever since I was a kid in high school, but I ended up back in 2020 doing a talk radio show.

00:15:39.200 I was working in Michigan, West Michigan, and you know, everything, everything hit the fan.

00:15:44.780 It went crazy.

00:15:46.040 And I just found myself in this place where I'm just trying to give people news, trying to give them the facts of what's happening and people trying to make sense of it all.

00:15:54.180 And I just wanted to tell people, I noticed the news was lying.

00:15:58.240 And ever since really he came down that golden escalator back in 2015, I noticed over and over and over again, they would report things that they would be off and they were missing things.

00:16:07.340 But really, particularly in 2020, there were major issues with stories around what the numbers were, hospitalizations, how many cases, there would be good news and they wouldn't report it.

00:16:19.560 And I thought to myself, this is strange.

00:16:21.120 This is really off.

00:16:22.420 So I kind of find myself in a place where I feel called to do this.

00:16:26.220 I'm doing this because I don't think I really have a choice.

00:16:29.540 And, you know, we talked about kids earlier and like, I've got two daughters and one's four, got to be four, got to be one of the other ones, got to be two.

00:16:42.480 And I can't imagine the world they're going to grow up in.

00:16:44.940 This is it.

00:16:45.600 This election is it.

00:16:46.660 We don't, there is no turning back.

00:16:48.780 So I know a lot of these people are in it for different reasons.

00:16:51.820 I'm sure Muir is one of those guys.

00:16:53.260 I don't know, but I don't, I can't really, I can't justify in my head how they get away with some of the things that they do and blatantly lying.

00:17:05.900 How do you do this without having some sort of consciousness?

00:17:10.760 You know that you're wrong.

00:17:12.000 You understand that.

00:17:13.120 I will admit when I'm wrong because here's the bottom line for me.

00:17:16.280 The truth is more important than being right.

00:17:19.440 And folks on the left, they always want to be right.

00:17:21.600 They don't care.

00:17:22.960 They don't care about the truth.

00:17:24.880 Unfortunately, now more than ever, we're seeing that.

00:17:27.320 And, and it's, it's alive and well in our, in our media and they are constantly gaslighting us in this weird, abusive relationship that we have with them.

00:17:38.460 But you're right.

00:17:39.280 That was one of the worst.

00:17:41.500 That was one of the worst examples I've seen of it for them to say, no, no, you didn't mean what you meant.

00:17:48.060 What are you talking about?

00:17:49.260 How can you even pretend like you can get in somebody's head? 0.61

00:17:55.500 It's insane.

00:17:57.540 I hope people are waking up to it though.

00:17:59.820 Very well said.

00:18:01.160 And when we sort of talk about this phenomena of, of the media, you know, people liking to see themselves on TV, maybe being in it for the wrong reasons.

00:18:08.240 Another really important moment in the debate is something that's been blowing up online.

00:18:11.700 I'm sure you've seen it.

00:18:13.780 What is going on in Springfield?

00:18:15.980 Are Haitian immigrants actually eating the pets? 1.00

00:18:19.760 Donald Trump brought it up in the debate last night.

00:18:22.380 He says, you know, they're eating the cats.

00:18:24.280 They're eating the dogs.

00:18:25.440 They're eating the pets.

00:18:26.400 And basically the situation here is that thousands of Haitian immigrants have been moved to a small struggling town in Springfield.

00:18:33.220 And now there are these reports coming out of people saying, you know, their pets are being eaten ducks from the pond.

00:18:39.320 They're being decapitated.

00:18:40.240 And these immigrants are actually eating the animals, which is, of course, not done in North America. 1.00

00:18:46.600 We do not like to eat our pets.

00:18:48.460 We raise specific animals to eat them.

00:18:50.440 We do not eat cats and dogs here.

00:18:52.200 It's just not done.

00:18:53.920 And, you know, so, and so he actually got fact trumped for saying this by David Muir.

00:18:58.420 He said, well, we spoke to the city manager and he said, there's no credible reports of this.

00:19:02.040 There's a lot of footage about this online.

00:19:03.780 There's a lot of independent journalists going and talking to residents of Springfield, interviewing them who are saying, yes, you know, there's a strange thing happening.

00:19:12.900 Ducks are being decapitated.

00:19:14.740 Is this a situation where journalists are just sort of speaking to a city bureaucrat who has his own interests in mind and are not doing the hard work of going on the ground and figuring out what the story is?

00:19:25.580 Or, you know, are these just rumors?

00:19:27.440 Are pets not being eaten in Springfield?

00:19:29.900 What's your take?

00:19:31.200 We don't know.

00:19:31.740 How will, how could we ever know?

00:19:34.040 We don't have a media that's honest anymore.

00:19:37.300 I know that Glenn's outfit, The Blaze, they've sent people there.

00:19:41.120 I've seen that a couple other alternative folks have gone to find out to see if they could get it.

00:19:47.820 You're not going to get ABC sending anybody.

00:19:50.620 I've seen the articles from the Rolling Stone and the New York Times.

00:19:54.600 And I guess they know better than the people who were there in those commission meetings saying, this is happening.

00:20:00.880 Why aren't you doing something to stop it?

00:20:02.800 They're seeing, they're hearing the stories.

00:20:04.560 And I guess they failed to consider that there's now evidence.

00:20:13.460 9-1-1 calls.

00:20:14.300 Actually, it wasn't 9-1-1.

00:20:15.300 It was a non-emergency line.

00:20:18.240 Somebody called on his way to work, and the audio's come out thanks to the Federalist today, where there's a guy on his way to work.

00:20:27.200 He says, I'm seeing these guys, these Haitian migrants, and they're all carrying ducks. 1.00

00:20:30.860 And this is in this park, I guess, where this is a problem.

00:20:33.540 And he said, I'm on my way to work.

00:20:36.000 He's trying to give them as much information as possible.

00:20:38.240 Now, does that prove that all of this is happening?

00:20:43.380 Does it prove that there's some, you know, people are eating cats and all this?

00:20:47.140 It doesn't matter.

00:20:48.400 What matters is, is that, you know, 20,000 people were dumped from a country like Haiti, which is, I mean, Dominican Republic, they built a wall to keep people from Haiti out.

00:21:03.880 They're right there with each other, right next door.

00:21:06.620 And we're just importing people in. 0.61

00:21:09.400 Again, we don't know who they are.

00:21:10.760 A lot of these folks are unvetted.

00:21:12.220 We have no idea.

00:21:14.020 And on top of it, we put them in a place like Springfield, Ohio, a town of 60,000 people.

00:21:20.540 Major culture clashes are going to happen here.

00:21:22.980 They know exactly what they're doing.

00:21:24.780 And she laughed about it last night.

00:21:27.180 She laughed about the people's pain that they're feeling every time they have to try and pay for groceries or anything else.

00:21:32.780 She laughed about what's happening in Springfield, Ohio.

00:21:35.080 The truth is, is that these people, and I'm talking about Harris, I'm talking about Biden, I'm talking about Alejandro Mayorkas, all these people that are in charge of this current administration, they're telling us they don't care.

00:21:48.920 And the media is carrying their water.

00:21:52.020 They're covering up for them.

00:21:53.080 They'll never really hold truth to power.

00:21:55.280 They're never really going to get into the weeds and figure out whether this stuff is happening.

00:21:59.600 But the truth is, they've done it.

00:22:01.080 They admit they've done it.

00:22:02.120 And they don't care if you know about it. 0.87

00:22:04.060 They're going to call you crazy, you racist, sexist, bigot, whatever they want to say, so that you don't shine a light on what's really happening. 0.84

00:22:12.400 And what's heartbreaking to see is that these people are speaking at these meetings, this is not a partisan thing. 0.87

00:22:18.980 These are people who are standing up and saying, we need help.

00:22:22.780 We need help.

00:22:23.620 There's a black man that's a YouTuber and a TikToker, and he's one of the guys that stood up and he was, I don't know why I have to take out time from what I'm doing. 0.81

00:22:31.140 I'm supposed to be over here having fun doing my YouTube videos and et cetera, and come to you and tell you to do this.

00:22:36.540 You guys are sitting in your cushy chairs.

00:22:37.940 You're making all this money.

00:22:38.980 Why don't you do something?

00:22:41.200 They're pleading for help.

00:22:42.480 He's even going as far as to say, you know, I don't even blame these people that are here.

00:22:46.420 I don't blame the Haitians.

00:22:48.320 You know, that's the thing is they want to pull and sort of say that this is a compassionate thing that they're doing.

00:22:54.220 It couldn't be further from the truth.

00:22:55.840 It's not compassionate to bring all those people here and dump them and not help them and give them the resources that they need.

00:23:01.180 It's not compassionate for them.

00:23:02.260 And it's definitely not compassionate for the people in that small town of Springfield.

00:23:05.480 Here's the thing, if it could happen to Springfield, Ohio, they'll do this to any of us.

00:23:12.940 It's coming to your neighborhood next.

00:23:14.640 That's the point that I think that they're making on the right end and particularly the Trump campaign.

00:23:20.740 And, you know, J.D. Vance, he had an interesting moment with the CNN anchor last night, and I don't think she was expecting his response.

00:23:30.060 It's fascinating.

00:23:32.140 You see, you didn't really care until we started making these cat memes, and the memes are getting your attention now.

00:23:38.680 And I think that it's another to that point.

00:23:40.920 Like the old mainstream media, ABC News, is failing, but cat memes, this is something about who we are now and how I think our media works is that these memes are breaking through.

00:23:52.420 There's so much power in the ability of just the joke of the memes because there's truth in jest, and it cuts through the noise right now.

00:24:04.360 And I think that freaks them out.

00:24:06.540 Yeah, and I think the humor is also a really good way for people to deal with the scary stuff that's going on in their country and in their politics right now.

00:24:14.500 Very similar in Canada where we have communities that are being overrun by immigrants with totally different cultures. 0.99

00:24:20.820 And, you know, we've all been watching what's been going on in the U.K. with the race riots there.

00:24:25.060 And I think kind of watching with a bated breath, wondering, is this going to come to Canada?

00:24:28.280 Is this going to come to the States?

00:24:29.560 And to your earlier point, J.D. Vance had an excellent answer when he was asked about that moment during the debate.

00:24:34.180 And he said, you guys haven't been covering the story of the immigrants flooding Springfield.

00:24:39.020 And it took cat memes to get your attention to the fact that there are real problems in the community with rising crime, rising cost of living.

00:24:46.220 I've even seen reports of people saying that their insurance has now gone up because of the influx of crime and of car accidents.

00:24:52.220 So definitely a very real story there.

00:24:54.260 The media should be boots on the ground.

00:24:55.640 We don't see a lot of that type of reporting anymore.

00:24:57.240 We've talked a lot about the media fact checking of Trump.

00:25:00.600 I did want to just point to at least one moment, one stunning moment in the debate where they had an opportunity, a very easy opportunity to fact check Kamala Harris.

00:25:09.020 Any random troll on the Internet knows that this story is fake by now.

00:25:13.200 Here is Kamala Harris lying about Donald Trump and what he said about neo-Nazis in Charlottesville. 0.84

00:25:18.520 Take a look.

00:25:18.960 Let's remember Charlottesville, where there was a mob of people carrying tiki torches, spewing anti-Semitic hate.

00:25:29.620 And what did the president then at the time say?

00:25:33.460 There were fine people on each side.

00:25:35.420 So this has been debunked by Snopes time and time again.

00:25:38.440 I think Joe Biden might have even mentioned it in the last debate because it was so fresh in my memory as something that had been debunked.

00:25:43.720 And of course, the moderators didn't step in and say, no, no, that's actually been debunked.

00:25:47.900 That, to me, was the most obvious moment on stage of the moderators are really here.

00:25:53.620 They're on Team Harris.

00:25:55.360 They're on Team Harris.

00:25:57.340 Absolutely.

00:26:00.040 They won't touch some of the Project 2025.

00:26:04.280 How many times has he come out and said, this is not my project.

00:26:07.620 It's a Heritage Foundation think tank project.

00:26:10.980 My thing is Agenda 47.

00:26:13.600 I mean, how many times does he have to come out and say it?

00:26:16.060 They don't care.

00:26:17.220 If you go to her website right now, not only did they copy and paste everything from the Biden website, I don't know if you heard about that, but it's in the code.

00:26:24.880 They've copied and pasted everything from the Biden campaign website into her website.

00:26:29.920 But at the bottom of every issue, the policies that she wants to talk about, there's this Project 2025, here's what Trump wants to do thing.

00:26:39.080 It's blatant.

00:26:40.080 They don't care.

00:26:41.180 And they're lying over and over again.

00:26:43.740 The media is going right along with it.

00:26:46.220 If they won't correct her on these blatant and obvious lies, yet they want to correct him on what he meant when he said something tongue-in-cheek and with a little sarcasm.

00:26:58.740 It's just laughable by now.

00:27:00.840 And if it weren't so serious and the consequences so dire, I guess we could laugh a little bit more about this.

00:27:06.480 But they are digging their own grave.

00:27:09.880 These folks in these media organizations are losing audience at massive rates and massive numbers.

00:27:14.500 And probably because folks like you, folks like me, and many others, alternatively, are having conversations in ways just like this.

00:27:26.960 And people are gravitating to it because they're getting the truth.

00:27:30.880 People know the truth when they get it.

00:27:32.460 They know when they're being lied to.

00:27:34.420 And they're just tired of it.

00:27:36.780 They know when they're being lied to.

00:27:38.320 Absolutely.

00:27:38.940 Yeah.

00:27:39.560 One other Kamala clip that I wanted to play.

00:27:41.960 Okay.

00:27:42.120 Maybe fair enough.

00:27:42.900 This is a matter of opinion.

00:27:44.620 And so understandably, perhaps moderators didn't fact check on this one.

00:27:49.240 This was a moment where she criticized Donald Trump's rallies.

00:27:52.720 And Donald Trump, everyone said he should just ignore that, not take the bait.

00:27:55.780 He did take the bait and he did respond to this.

00:27:58.240 But I just wanted to show you guys this clip and then juxtapose it to what it actually looks like, the truth is.

00:28:03.260 So here's Kamala criticizing Donald Trump at his and for the way that he holds his rallies.

00:28:08.460 Take a look.

00:28:08.980 You do something really unusual.

00:28:10.220 And I'm going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump's rallies because it's a really interesting thing to watch.

00:28:16.320 You will see during the course of his rallies, he talks about fictional characters like Hannibal Lecter.

00:28:22.020 He will talk about windmills cause cancer.

00:28:24.600 And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom.

00:28:31.560 And I will tell you, the one thing you will not hear him talk about is you.

00:28:35.460 You will not hear him talk about your needs, your dreams, and your desires.

00:28:40.180 Okay, so two things here.

00:28:41.400 I mean, first she says you will not hear him talk about you.

00:28:44.700 You will not hear him talk about your needs.

00:28:46.080 We've just spent all this time talking about the situation in Springfield.

00:28:48.700 If you remember, the reason that Donald Trump narrowly survived the assassination attempt is because his head was turned because he was looking at a slide on illegal immigration.

00:28:58.120 He was showing the audience the numbers of how high the illegal immigration has been under Joe Biden.

00:29:02.820 And his head was slightly turned on that angle.

00:29:04.400 And for that reason, the bullet grazed his ears instead of hitting him directly in the forehead.

00:29:08.220 So I don't know what Kamala Harris thinks the American public's needs. 1.00

00:29:10.780 But when I go to rallies and I talk to people in the States, you know, immigration is top of mind for a lot of American voters.

00:29:15.840 And the other thing, and I don't even need to explain this.

00:29:19.080 I think if a picture is worth a thousand words, then this video must be worth a million.

00:29:22.600 Kamala Harris saying people leave Donald Trump's rallies early.

00:29:25.940 Take a look at this scene just moments after there was a shooting at one of his rallies.

00:29:30.320 This is powerful.

00:29:45.840 So that was obviously at the failed assassination attempt of Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

00:30:07.340 I shot that footage, as you mentioned, Justin, I was there that day.

00:30:09.920 I had my own experience with that rally, and I just think that it was so powerful that everyone in the crowd stayed.

00:30:17.100 I remember when I heard the initial bullets go off and I had this moment of thinking, oh, there's going to be a stampede.

00:30:22.380 I expected there to be a stampede of people running for the exits.

00:30:25.600 The opposite happened.

00:30:27.040 Every single person, except maybe the people there with young kids, stood and waited.

00:30:32.060 They waited for Donald Trump to get up.

00:30:33.440 They waited for him to go off stage.

00:30:34.680 And even after that, people continued to linger because they wanted to know what happened.

00:30:39.120 And most pertinently, they wanted to make sure that Donald Trump was OK.

00:30:43.320 And I can tell you that I was staying around to do interviews and people were lingering.

00:30:46.620 Everyone wanted to talk.

00:30:47.740 Everyone wanted to decompress, relate to each other.

00:30:50.500 And the police actually, I later found out at this time that they had found they had found bombs.

00:30:55.200 They had found bombs from the gunman.

00:30:56.940 And as soon as they found that, they said, we need to evacuate.

00:30:58.900 We need to get everyone off the grounds.

00:31:00.380 And they were screaming at us to leave.

00:31:02.440 And nobody wanted to leave.

00:31:03.620 Everyone wanted to stay and talk to each other and just wait for some sort of information on Donald Trump.

00:31:08.660 So to me, that was just such a stunning moment where she said, people can't even be bothered to stay in.

00:31:13.120 It was so hot that day.

00:31:14.440 I can tell you people passed out.

00:31:15.740 And even after there was a shooting at the event, people still stayed because they wanted to make sure that Trump was OK.

00:31:23.020 So to me, that was a stunning moment.

00:31:25.120 I don't know if that got as much attention as some of the other really blatant lies that Kamala said.

00:31:30.200 But to me, that was just so stunning and wrong that she would make those comments, especially given what you said, that the moderators did, in fact, cut Trump off when he was talking about being shot in the air.

00:31:40.080 I think they did it because they tried to bait him.

00:31:44.360 They believed they could get into his head by taunting him about crowd size. 0.98

00:31:51.900 It was something that's so blatant and so ridiculous. 0.96

00:31:54.160 They're paying people to come. 0.93

00:31:55.780 They have to pay and have free concerts to get people to show up to her rallies.

00:31:59.940 And they leave early.

00:32:01.300 There's video of this.

00:32:02.680 We've seen this happening.

00:32:04.640 So it's so absurd. 0.92

00:32:06.040 It's so ridiculous that I think that's the only reason they did it. 0.92

00:32:09.620 By the way, he was frustrated. 0.88

00:32:11.920 But I think he was more frustrated with the moderators than he was anything else last night.

00:32:16.000 And I don't think any of these things worked in their favor to get into his head.

00:32:21.860 I think it just became another one of these.

00:32:23.440 Just if you're watching that and you're at home and you're having a hard time putting food on the table or gas in the tank, paying for child care, maybe you or your family been a victim of some sort of crime.

00:32:39.280 This is not resonating with you.

00:32:42.580 This is petty. 0.99

00:32:43.900 This is ridiculous. 0.99

00:32:45.020 And quite frankly, you're probably ticked off while you're watching it. 0.97

00:32:47.860 Justin, just my last question for you.

00:32:52.420 Are they going to agree to another debate or is this all we're going to get?

00:32:55.840 I thought last night for sure she got the performance she wanted that there wouldn't be another debate, but they've already asked for it.

00:33:02.180 And then he said, well, maybe I will do one.

00:33:04.860 I think they'll be back and forth over whether they do it at Fox or not.

00:33:08.000 But then this morning he said on Fox and Friends that he only wants Hannity and Laura Ingram to do it.

00:33:14.580 He doesn't want Martha or Brett.

00:33:17.060 And I don't know.

00:33:18.860 I mean, the guy can go into the lion's den time and time again, and he comes out like nearly unscathed.

00:33:26.880 I think time is of the essence if they want to do it.

00:33:32.220 And I thought for a fact they were going to try and put him in jail, but they've delayed the sentencing.

00:33:37.620 And I think all bets are off.

00:33:40.020 Anything's possible.

00:33:41.040 They may get another debate.

00:33:42.140 They may not.

00:33:43.380 One of the debate locations that's been floated was Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I'm at, one of the locations.

00:33:50.340 So I will let you know.

00:33:52.120 I'll keep you posted.

00:33:53.020 And if they do it here, I'll try to be in attendance.

00:33:58.320 Well, that would be great.

00:33:58.980 And we can have you on afterwards and break down the whole thing.

00:34:01.640 Justin, thank you so much for your time and for your insight today.

00:34:04.720 I know my largely Canadian audience will really appreciate that.
