Juno News - The rise of patriotic populism in France

00:00:00.000 well the european political awakening is well and truly underway right-wing populist leaders are on

00:00:08.800 the rise and the european union election results just two weeks ago proved once and for all that

00:00:14.400 europeans are now turning their backs on the globalist far left that have had such a strong

00:00:19.600 grip on power in europe over the past 10 years nowhere was this political shift more evident

00:00:26.240 than what we have seen in france marine le pen's national rally party defeated emmanuel macron

00:00:32.960 so badly in the european union elections that within hours he dissolved parliament and called

00:00:38.960 a snap parliamentary election now to say that public opinion in marine le pen's favor is one-sided

00:00:45.120 would be a major understatement by early july the final round of voting will begin in france's

00:00:50.960 parliamentary elections and as it stands right now a 28 year old conservative social media

00:00:57.440 influencer jordan bardella is set to become the next prime minister of france well joining us now on the

00:01:03.680 show to help explain this incredible political shift taking place in france is political activist

00:01:10.160 and leader of the patriot network enzo alias and so thank you so much for coming on the show thank

00:01:16.080 you so much harrison for the invitation i'm really glad to be there with you

00:01:19.360 amazing so obviously the french are well in their way of the general election it is it has started

00:01:26.800 and we're seeing a major shift happen in your country with marine le pen dominating in the polls

00:01:33.760 after a dominant eu election victory for the national rally party take us through what exactly went wrong

00:01:41.920 for emmanuel macron because the polls tell us that he is destined for a major defeat yes um

00:01:48.880 um it's true we win a large victory at the european election with uh 32 percent so it's a large

00:01:56.000 victory and the macron party made of 14 so we make more than the double so we are really happy about

00:02:03.840 that and just after that few hours after the the results macron say he want to dissolve the national

00:02:11.520 assembly so like marine le pen has four so we are really glad about that so now we have a new

00:02:19.200 legislative election in three weeks and the polls are really good for us because they said we will be

00:02:25.440 between 32 to 33 percent and we also made an alliance with les republicans is a right party so uh it is the

00:02:35.920 first time i think a big party is ready to make an alliance with the national rally so this is also

00:02:41.680 really good and um with this party we can make a right coalition and we also have dupont-aignan from

00:02:48.800 debout la france so now we are three parties in this coalition and the macron party is really afraid

00:02:55.520 about that because also the left make a big coalition and this coalition with melanchon and extremist left

00:03:03.280 people in the polls are between 27 to 20 percent so we are the first after we have the left coalition

00:03:12.400 and after we have macron so macron will be really a minority he will have a minority in the french

00:03:18.960 national assembly so he's really afraid about that and i think the people now know the macron policy

00:03:26.240 and is also for that they vote for marine le pen jordan bardella and if we win this election so it

00:03:32.720 means the president so just to for you for the whole viewer jordan jordan jordan bardella is now the

00:03:39.600 president of the national rally and marine le pen is the president of the group in the uh in the

00:03:45.680 national assembly but she will be uh also the candidate for the presidency election so she still 0.99

00:03:53.040 leads the party but jordan bardella is a new generation is really young he have 28 years old

00:04:01.120 is the president and if we win this election he will be prime minister so we will have a cohabitation

00:04:08.400 government and uh it was happening but 30 years ago so it was really uh whole and uh i hope uh jordan

00:04:17.280 bardella will be prime minister like this we can make new law to protect our sovereignty our identity our

00:04:24.640 uh economy because now uh the france is we are in really bad situation to be honest about economy about

00:04:32.320 uh uh insecurity about immigration france be worst and worst we also see many tourists who come in in 1.00

00:04:41.440 paris and it's terrible it's terrible because uh uh the people uh robbed the the bags also uh we have many

00:04:50.400 reps so so is the situation is worse and worse so i'm really happy about this situation and i i hope

00:04:57.520 in two two weeks because now he's in two weeks we will uh win this uh legislative election so you you

00:05:05.520 touched on some of the issues that are driving this election and driving this change toward the right in

00:05:11.280 france but i want to just get into more of those details what are the driving issues what are the issues

00:05:17.040 that the french people are most concerned about right now that have triggered such a major shift

00:05:23.200 in your country's politics yeah so the three most important points are firstly economy second uh insecurity

00:05:31.760 and third um immigration but also insecurity and immigration are the same points because for example

00:05:39.120 in paris we have 75 percent of insecurity is committed by uh migrants 75 so is is huge and also if you go 1.00

00:05:50.960 in the french jail you have almost 30 percent are foreigners so we don't have any place i mean many 1.00

00:06:00.240 places in jail because the jail are full are totally full so now we have uh the macron governments if you

00:06:07.200 want to go in jail in france maybe you have to to do to to to be arrested uh five times six times to go

00:06:13.360 in jail or you don't go in jail you still you you stay at home you have to to to stay in your home but

00:06:19.200 you don't go in jail because we don't have place in jail so it's crazy crazy situation yes so about the

00:06:25.680 economy is really a rough situation because for example in france we have the nuclear factory so we can

00:06:34.000 produce uh electricity uh electricity with a really good price but we are in the uh electricity market

00:06:40.480 so we have to follow uh germany we have to and they don't use anymore a nuclear so the price now is a

00:06:48.080 double uh i think uh two years ago i paid my my bill maybe 70 uh dollars per per month and now i pay 160

00:06:58.240 per month because the price is growing growing growing growing and the government don't do anything

00:07:03.840 about that so we want to to to leave this um electricity markets to uh have more money also we can

00:07:12.240 make a lot of you know economy uh of uh the immigration also about uh the inflation you know for the tax

00:07:21.200 uh because we have many many um uh company who uh go uh in romania or go in other country uh to make

00:07:31.360 uh uh illegal concurrence because in uh in europe you can put your factory in other uh country in the

00:07:39.360 european um continents and you pay low tax so we have for example in the building markets we have some

00:07:46.800 company from poland from other countries they pay uh they uh the worker maybe uh 400 per month but in

00:07:56.080 france the minimum salary is 1300 so it's impossible to work in this system the system is is really bad

00:08:05.840 and uh we have to fix it also uh in the european parliaments but also in uh the french parliaments

00:08:13.680 so that's uh the um national rally do we are working in the both assembly uh to make france

00:08:21.200 great again right and you touched on this earlier that jordan bardella the the potentially the next

00:08:28.400 prime minister very likely the next prime minister of france is a 28 year old who has a very large

00:08:34.800 tick tock following he's very effective on social media and this seems to be driven a lot by

00:08:41.600 the mobilization of young voters across the eu elections and what we're seeing in france talk

00:08:48.880 to me more about who this jordan bardella is and where he came from and how he's been able to appeal

00:08:54.960 to young french voters of course so i know well jordan bandana i know him previously he was not famous

00:09:02.720 you know he was just a member of the of the party so i i know him well he's a really good guy he's a

00:09:08.240 a really good guy and you know he started from the from the bottom uh he lived uh in the same city

00:09:14.080 of me uh close to paris in the insecurity zone with a lot of immigration so we know the the reality uh and

00:09:23.040 also um he he have now uh 20 uh years old so he started from the bottom uh to the regional council

00:09:31.440 after with the european parliament uh he was a president for the youth with me also he grew up

00:09:37.440 he grew up in the party because he's a really clever guy uh he's a kind guy so uh obviously marine

00:09:45.680 le pen sees a potential in both in bardella and is for that he trusts in bardella so i'm really happy

00:09:52.560 for him because i think he can be uh so prime prime minister but maybe after marine le pen also maybe

00:10:00.080 he will be also president of france he has the good potential to to to do it yeah to do this work

00:10:06.160 and also when he go on the tv show to make a deba uh with other people is is really strong you know

00:10:13.120 is is a is a war machine this guy is really really good and also uh yes for tick tock and the social

00:10:19.200 media is true he's really good for uh because uh the young people go on tick tock on x on facebook to uh

00:10:26.720 see uh the bardella video because he do a really good communication you know uh he spoke he speak

00:10:32.720 about the uh problem for the youth uh for example he want to push uh low low tax for uh the youngs

00:10:40.480 also if you want to buy a house a house the state will help you to make a company etc and we need that

00:10:47.280 in france because the people doesn't work to to work for the minimum salary so they want to to build a

00:10:53.600 new company to to have more company in france but we have too much tax for example i have two business

00:10:59.600 i pay uh 55 percent of tax is incredible incredible and i have to pay for some people who doesn't want

00:11:07.840 to work because they have the they help from the states if you stay at home and you doesn't want to

00:11:13.600 work the state give you a 600 euro and you don't have to pay for your flats so you you can stay like this

00:11:21.040 we know many many people in france they don't doesn't want to work because they have to get up

00:11:25.840 every morning to go to work but if uh you you make a a simple you know calcul between if you want to

00:11:33.040 to go to work for minimum salary or if you have to go uh to to stay at home and the majority of people

00:11:40.800 doesn't want to work so uh also i i think uh jordan bella will fix that you know to to to to push uh 0.99

00:11:49.440 everyone to go to work because we we need worker in france it's true of course you can't just you

00:11:55.360 can't just be sitting at home it's not good for it's not good for society exactly it's a compounding

00:12:00.960 problem one of the things that we've seen in canada at least is that the conservatives they're only now

00:12:08.720 just starting to attract young voters they're only now just starting to get young people on their side

00:12:14.960 traditionally the conservatives have never been successful in canada at getting young

00:12:20.320 people to vote for them and to look at the conservatives as an option but that's not the

00:12:25.040 case it appears in france it's not the case that it appears in europe as well european right-wing

00:12:31.200 populist parties have really been successful at getting youth to vote for them and getting them on

00:12:36.640 their side how do you think they've done that how do you think they've been so successful at doing that

00:12:40.880 well i think um in france you have two generations you have the generation of european uh new european

00:12:51.040 generation for example i'm half italian and you have another generation from uh the north of africa

00:12:59.280 like algerian moroccan tunisian etc and this you have one part of this generation they hate france

00:13:06.640 you know they make drug traffic they hate france and uh you have a lot of story about also murder

00:13:14.240 in france in the little town of crepol you have some guy from uh so this generation of north african

00:13:22.480 go in little uh town uh to make murder to kill white people so i think you have two two generation 0.59

00:13:31.200 and this generation are you know uh directly from flat uh frankly you know in opposition you have one 0.99

00:13:38.880 generation patriots and they love france etc and you have one generation they hate france because it's

00:13:45.920 also the fault of of the national education because at school as a teacher don't learn uh why did you have

00:13:54.960 to be proud about the french history they say oh uh the french have a a bad you know bad uh story 0.80

00:14:03.120 because we make colonization uh we make this bad this bad etc so a lot of french uh young french people

00:14:11.840 are not proud to be french and i think jordan bardella give this hope you know uh to to be to say yes you

00:14:21.600 have to be proud about your country is really important because if you are not proud to be french

00:14:27.520 you have you you broke you know you broke your hearts because it's not good it's not good for you

00:14:31.760 it's not good for your country so we have a lot of a lot of young people now uh be more patriot be

00:14:38.720 more proud uh and i think is for this reason and also you know in france we have the left the right

00:14:45.920 the the left the right for 50 years and we know no one change because they make alliance you know for

00:14:53.520 legislative election they have uh you know uh some speech at the tv show but when they do politics

00:15:01.360 they make aliens every time so now we say uh no more left no more right now we vote for the national

00:15:08.400 rally because the national rally have some uh you know decision from the right and from the left for

00:15:14.160 example for the uh economic uh decision we are agreed to help uh true uh you know uh french people who

00:15:23.200 wants money so we we are not a lot of liberal to be honest in the national rally we are not liberal

00:15:30.320 ultra liberal we were we are agreed to help people but uh who uh don't take advantage to stay at home

00:15:38.240 if you are uh you know people who are working for work but for a really a real situation okay we can

00:15:48.080 help you but if you want to take just advantage for that is not possible so we want to put first the

00:15:54.640 priority for french people because for the moment is not the the case for example if you are foreigner

00:16:01.040 and you come in france you have uh free uh health because you can go to the hospital we pay for everything

00:16:07.520 you have free uh uh flats and free food and this is not possible because we have a lot of homeless

00:16:13.840 people in the streets so we have to help uh homeless french people first and also french people first

00:16:22.160 yeah i mean of course that should be the priority of the government right to take care of its own

00:16:26.480 citizens first you know we certainly have a lot of similarities in our country with the the way the

00:16:31.680 education system tries to tell canadians to feel bad about our country our government peddles lies

00:16:38.560 to us about what we did that didn't actually happen to make us all feel bad these things happen and i

00:16:44.720 think as you rightly point out it matters it matters to the soul of the country for people to feel proud

00:16:50.640 about being where they're from there's a lot to be proud of for the french people like there's a lot

00:16:54.800 to be proud of for the canadian people i want to go back to something you said about this growing

00:16:59.840 population of north africans young north africans in france and i want to know from your perspective

00:17:07.280 how much the islamization of france has played a role in the rise of marine le pen we've seen a video

00:17:13.360 that has become extremely viral on social media of marine le pen just a few days ago saying that those

00:17:20.000 who are connected by nationals who are connected to islamist ideology must be stripped of their nationality 1.00

00:17:25.680 and expelled that language wouldn't fly in canada but i think it's obviously found a very large and

00:17:32.800 welcoming audience in france so let's talk about how islamization of your country has played a role

00:17:38.800 in the in this election yeah so we have in the largest city in france for example i live in marseille

00:17:45.760 so the second uh city in france in the south of france we have obviously i think we have 33 percent

00:17:53.200 uh of muslim uh population and i can say that because at school we know uh who don't go at school 0.99

00:18:02.000 for uh the aid feast so is a muslim feast so we know we have 33 percent of muslim people and in france

00:18:10.560 i think is yes it's probably the same thing because you have also um people get the national identity

00:18:19.040 so the people say so they are no more stranger but we know we have 30 33 percent of muslim in france

00:18:26.000 and we have some statistic is very um uh dangerous because uh 50 of the young muslim put the shy the 0.94

00:18:36.160 sharia law uh before uh the french law so this is really dangerous is very dangerous we have also the

00:18:44.720 muslim uh brother in france and uh they are hoping you know many uh new muslim school uh to put the

00:18:53.200 sharia uh uh first for the children uh we have many many many journalists are doing you know great

00:18:59.840 job to to check this school etc and we know we have a lot of islamic islamic people people and it's

00:19:06.560 also for that we have a lot of you know uh attenta in france like in nice like in bataclan etc we have

00:19:13.920 a lot of a lot of a lot of uh terrorists and also the police uh is um making a really great job

00:19:21.920 because if you have to look maybe 15 we we we think you know in france we have the uh the name is fisher s

00:19:30.240 so is uh like uh um uh advertise they put like a card of people they said is a dangerous guy and in

00:19:41.600 france we have uh 50 000 people like this so the police every day are checking the phone the computer

00:19:51.120 uh to to to to make sure we they don't do attenta but it's really really yes it's really dangerous and

00:19:58.480 also you have a lot of people like this they stay in jail only for uh four years five years and after

00:20:05.520 when they go uh in the streets they commit another attenta so it's really difficult because also the 0.64

00:20:12.640 french law uh don't do the job you know uh for example if you kill someone in france maybe you go

00:20:20.640 the maximum uh you know um time you can go in jail in jail is is like 25 years is a maximum you cannot go

00:20:32.240 more so the french law don't protect you know the french population and about islamization yes we

00:20:38.880 know is is terrific because in the big city you have some quarter is only muslim only muslim if you go 0.72

00:20:47.520 to to to buy some meats is only halal meats and if you and you have also a big you know

00:20:55.120 uh uh fast food uh factory now they are only halal because they know the market they know the french

00:21:04.400 also the christian people can buy the halal meats so they prefer to put halal meat and in some

00:21:11.360 restaurants you know they don't put is halal meat they don't say so you you you you hit halal meat but

00:21:16.560 you don't know and uh the we have to know the halal meat also is a business because they get the money

00:21:23.040 from the halal meat to to to build some new mosques etc so yeah the the situation now is really

00:21:30.080 difficult in france because also they are french people this this type of people are french so you

00:21:35.200 cannot uh you know uh uh take them to say you have to turn back in your country because they are french 0.97

00:21:40.800 people that's in the hurts why would any french government do this to their country i mean you know

00:21:48.800 it's such a such a celebrated country with so much history and and such an important country

00:21:54.400 in the world and one that you would you would think that leaders in the over the past 20 30 years would

00:22:00.320 want to preserve why why would any government do this to france i just don't understand why they

00:22:05.520 would allow this to happen because they are not patriots it's really simple you know they have leftist

00:22:11.440 mind uh so they think is uh the the the the duty of france to open the gate and to say to the world

00:22:19.520 welcome in france we can take the whole poverty of the world uh we can take all africa in in france

00:22:25.680 because we are happy you know also they say uh the french uh people doesn't make enough baby so we have

00:22:33.680 to take immigration to work in the restaurant to work to cleaning etc so they also see this type of

00:22:39.920 population like a slave because they need oh we have we need them to to wash my my car to wash my 0.98

00:22:46.240 my my home etc so uh i think we have to to put you know uh a baby uh uh encouragements to to say so

00:22:56.800 the french population have to make more babies and we can help the family to to do this this is a good 1.00

00:23:02.560 option and also when we see the situation in japan in japan what they do if the family don't do

00:23:10.160 children uh so they take some robo you know the robo do the job because you have to protect your

00:23:16.320 identity uh if you come in france for vacation is because you you want to to meet and to know the

00:23:22.320 french true population but if you have uh you know all african uh country in france so it don't make

00:23:30.480 any difference about the identity so i'm not agree with that and also you have a lot of people say

00:23:35.520 oh it's a duty of friends to to to take people from everywhere but it's not it's not the truth

00:23:41.600 it's not the truth you know when i travel to africa is to make af african people you know so of course

00:23:47.600 they have some problems and if we can help them we can we can fix it but we have first to think about

00:23:54.000 the french population absolutely and the last question i have for you is is what will uh marine

00:24:00.560 le pen if she becomes president in the future after jordan bardella and the national rally dominate in

00:24:07.440 the uh in the parliamentary elections what would the net what would a national rally government do with

00:24:12.480 immigration are they going to shut down the borders to uh these these african countries and control the 0.99

00:24:18.560 the the spread of of basically a very anti-french culture well i think it's really really simple

00:24:26.240 you know you have just to put down the uh financially help because if they cannot get money they will not

00:24:34.640 come it's really simple also you can close the border you know to control who comes or don't do not

00:24:41.520 come and in france you know we have some people they have the obligation to leave the territory and the

00:24:47.760 french governments take only three percent of this population to get back in the country because

00:24:54.400 for example we have if we have many algerian people they have to go back to algeri the french as a uh 0.97

00:25:01.360 algerian uh government doesn't accept this they say no no we don't we don't know them we don't want

00:25:08.160 them but they are algerian so you have to be also strong if if they say that you said okay so if you

00:25:15.280 don't want to take your population backs we stop to help you to build maybe this subway or this uh

00:25:23.040 sport etc so we have to be strong with it with a uh other country and uh so marine le pen yes will fix

00:25:30.960 the immigration problem she will stop the finland surgery help she will close the border she will take 0.90

00:25:37.840 uh illegal immigrants to take back in the country and also if you wants to come in france from some 0.71

00:25:44.720 war reason you have to ask the authorization in the consulate or in the french assembly but in your

00:25:50.960 country you don't have to come and after to help for uh don't ask to for help you have to to to to
