Summary

In this episode, I discuss the incompetence shown by the Prime Minister in his handling of the SNC-Lowland debacle, and how it's getting worse by the day, and why he seems to think he can be the next Prime Minister.

Transcript

00:00:00.000 The stunning incompetence showed by the Prime Minister and members of the Prime Minister's
00:00:09.320 office in their handling of the SNC-Lowland debacle has been nothing short of stunning.
00:00:16.240 And it's getting worse, it seems, by the week.
00:00:19.040 Since it started, his ham-fisted handling of the Attorney General, Jody Wilson-Raybould,
00:00:27.120 he has come up with reason after reason after reason from she was hard to handle, she wasn't
00:00:34.160 a team player, first I did nothing wrong, you know, then we'll see what the committee says.
00:00:41.500 And yesterday, it seems the Prime Minister's office, or at least somebody in the Prime Minister's
00:00:46.780 office, leaked out details that in 2017, Wilson-Raybould tried to appoint the sitting Chief Justice
00:00:56.820 of the Manitoba Supreme Court to the Supreme Court of Canada.
00:01:00.860 And then Sheila Copps came out on Twitter yesterday, former Cabinet Minister, saying that he was
00:01:06.100 blocked because he's homophobic, he's an anti-abortion judge, and all that sort of nonsense.
00:01:13.340 And there's clearly nothing in his judgments that I've been able to look up that would indicate
00:01:18.500 that at all.
00:01:19.660 In fact, he seems to be a staunch supporter of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
00:01:24.300 This is just getting crazy.
00:01:27.020 And in the interim, all along the way here, the Prime Minister has managed to shut down
00:01:31.900 two different committees looking into this, the Justice Committee and the Ethics Committee.
00:01:36.520 This is just getting crazy.
00:01:38.640 In the last election, Stephen Harper used as a campaign slogan, he's just not ready.
00:01:44.720 And clearly, this Prime Minister, in trying to bully two very accomplished women, certainly
00:01:54.240 way more accomplished than he is, former part-time drama teacher and snowboard instructor, who
00:02:02.080 could have thought that he might not be ready for the job as the CEO of Canada?
00:02:07.180 I mean, it's ridiculous, really, the fact that 39% of the people, the electorate in this
00:02:13.720 country elected him in 2015, thinking that he actually could do the job, and clearly he's
00:02:19.160 proving he can't.
00:02:20.820 I mean, and it's not just on this file.
00:02:22.960 It's on every file, everything he touches.
00:02:26.080 The only thing he's managed to get done in four years or three and a half years was legalization
00:02:31.660 of marijuana, and he fumbled that badly.
00:02:34.120 There's no supply chain for legitimate outlets.
00:02:37.920 The black market is still thriving, and somehow he thinks that's a success.
00:02:42.640 The economy in the States, our largest training partner is on fire, hitting record numbers of
00:02:50.260 successive quarters of GDP growth, and our economy is stumbling along.
00:02:56.480 So, you know, and it looks like with the carbon tax that's about to kick in April 1st, he may
00:03:01.620 further harm the economy.
00:03:03.780 The bottom line is, if you arbitrarily increase the cost of doing business to business, then
00:03:09.600 they either raise the prices or they reduce the size of their workforce.
00:03:13.760 They have to.
00:03:14.600 They have to maintain their margins or else they don't stay in business.
00:03:18.300 You know, and for him to just think that ideologically he can do this and it's going to be okay,
00:03:23.380 it's just crazy.
00:03:24.180 All you have to do is look at Alberta and what's happened to the energy sector in Alberta.
00:03:29.340 You know, there's been a loss, I saw a figure yesterday, of $589 billion of lost investment
00:03:36.920 in Alberta in the last couple of years alone.
00:03:40.120 That's a lot of money, and that's a lot of jobs.
00:03:43.300 You know, the economy of this country doesn't run itself, and the budget certainly won't balance
00:03:48.460 itself.
00:03:49.500 For True North, I'm Leo Knight.
00:03:54.180 Welcome back.
00:03:55.780 To ì•…ma, I'm Leo Knight.
00:03:57.120 Welcome back!
00:03:58.860 Welcome back.
00:03:59.340 Welcome back!
00:03:59.640 Welcome back.
00:04:00.240 Campigkeit.
00:04:01.400 You know, there's no
00:04:03.280 previous neighborhood which we don't have to look.
00:04:04.860 You know, but there's still pretty fake.
00:04:06.000 Welcome back.
00:04:07.000 Welcome back.
00:04:07.820 Welcome back.
00:04:09.000 Welcome back.
00:04:10.020 Welcome back.
00:04:11.460 Welcome back.
00:04:12.140 Welcome back.
00:04:13.180 Welcome back.
