00:00:00.040 Not to worry everyone, things are of course totally normal in Canada these days. The federal
00:00:12.160 government has only signaled its intent to make thought crimes illegal in this country. If the
00:00:16.720 arresting of political dissidents wasn't enough, if the outlawing of peaceful protest wasn't enough,
00:00:22.200 if the seizure of private assets and money for opposing the government wasn't enough,
00:00:26.640 and of course if the censoring of the internet wasn't enough to convince you that Canada
00:00:30.560 is no longer a free and democratic country, maybe this will. The release of an interim report by the
00:00:35.840 federal government on unmarked graves proposes to make it illegal to engage in what they call
00:00:41.200 residential school denialism. What exactly is residential school denialism? Well, despite the
00:00:47.360 report being over 180 pages, definitions for such a thing just didn't seem to make the cut. I wonder
00:00:53.760 why. In their words, the federal government wants to impose civil and criminal sanctions on those
00:00:59.360 that engage in denialism. That means you could be fined for having bad thoughts, but as the
00:01:04.400 government would surely prefer, you could also rot in a jail cell for having bad thoughts.
00:01:09.360 The Attorney General was delighted at these findings and he stated on the record that he
00:01:13.280 would be in favor of outlawing denialism. I'll break it down for you. You either believe that Canada
00:01:18.800 is an evil, genocidal country guilty of crimes against humanity, or you'll rot in a jail cell
00:01:24.720 long enough until you believe that Canada is an evil, genocidal country guilty of crimes against
00:01:29.600 humanity. That's where we're at right now in the Great White North. Every day it feels as though
00:01:33.680 Canada is straying further away from the country that we were promised as children and newcomers to
00:01:38.320 this land, and closer to the country that Justin Trudeau most admires, the basic dictatorship of China.
00:01:44.240 Drop a like in the video, help us out by subscribing to the True North YouTube channel, and the comment
00:01:48.240 question for the episode is this. What will it take to restore the basic principles of freedom
00:01:54.080 and democracy back into Canada? Let me know in the comments and let's get into it.
00:01:59.360 Kimberly Murray, the woman appointed by the federal government to the role of independent special
00:02:04.560 interlocutor on unmarked graves, not to be mistaken with independent special rapporteur, also a fake
00:02:10.720 position, has called on the government to make it illegal to engage in denialism, to make thought
00:02:16.320 crimes illegal in Canada. And like anyone who's proud of her findings and recommendations to the
00:02:21.280 government, she released this report on Friday afternoon. In her 180-page report, she makes no
00:02:27.920 mention of what denialism actually means. But she does go on to say that engaging in denialism is, quote,
00:02:35.760 violence. Words are violent, according to Kimberly Murray. As the Canadian press reports on the
00:02:41.200 findings, Murray raised concerns about increasing attacks from denialists who challenged communities
00:02:48.000 when they announced the discovery of possible unmarked graves. This violence is prolific, the report
00:02:54.560 said, and takes place via email, telephone, social media, op-eds, and, at times, through in-person
00:03:02.720 confrontations. As the report directly states, denialism is a uniquely non-indigenous problem.
00:03:10.080 It therefore requires non-indigenous people to actively work to counter denialism and to create
00:03:15.920 and implement strategies to do so. Urgent considerations should be given to legal mechanisms to address
00:03:22.080 denialism, including the implementation of both civil and criminal sanctions. So it's quite clear,
00:03:29.280 residential school denialism from Kimberly Murray's own report is not denying the existence of
00:03:35.760 residential schools. It also includes denying the findings and claims of unmarked burials
00:03:42.480 across the country. We all know that not a single body has been exhumed. Not a single bone has been
00:03:49.920 discovered in any of the claims of unmarked graves outside of residential schools. But in Canada,
00:03:56.320 according to Kimberly Murray, the independent special interlocutor, along with David Lamedi,
00:04:01.360 it would be a crime to deny that that exists, despite the fact that it doesn't exist.
00:04:06.560 Here's what Canadians had to say on Twitter about this report.
00:04:09.680 So we're going to make it a crime to question any absolute facts advanced by government authorities
00:04:15.120 and have an opposing opinion. What kind of oppressionist country are we becoming?
00:04:19.600 Critical thinking is a must in today's environment of mis- and disinformation.
00:04:23.520 A great way to change people's minds is to provide enough evidence to do so.
00:04:27.760 It's not the job of government to dictate which opinions are correct.
00:04:31.440 Stop propagandizing us and pushing for totalitarianism. Enough already.
00:04:36.080 And this comment I really wanted to highlight on the show from a user called Cardinal Wayne.
00:04:40.560 No, no, no. That is criminal censorship.
00:04:43.840 My dad attended a residential school and he would not have supported anything like that.
00:04:49.280 All of this started in the spring of 2021 when the Kamloops to Shwetmik Reserve claimed to have found
00:04:55.280 the remains of 215 children buried at the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.
00:05:02.000 The former newspaper and now leftist propaganda rag, The New York Times, without doing any actual
00:05:07.920 journalism, jumped on this story and titled it as Mass Graves of Indigenous Children.
00:05:14.800 From that point on, Indigenous reserves and bands across the country would make similar reports of
00:05:20.400 findings of unmarked graves. You had the Washington Post for example, again without doing any
00:05:26.400 journalism, claim that 751 unmarked graves containing the bodies of Indigenous children
00:05:33.120 were found at the Quesis First Nation at the site of the former Merivelle Residential School.
00:05:39.760 Despite the sensational claims from news outlets across the country claiming that 751 unmarked
00:05:45.520 graves were found, the Quesis First Nation from the outset claimed that they didn't discover any
00:05:51.360 graves at all. Crosses and headstones at pre-existing cemeteries had gone missing under disputed
00:05:59.040 circumstances decades earlier. The Quesis Chief Cadmus DeLorme even told CBC News that the findings
00:06:07.040 were from an existing Roman Catholic cemetery. The truth is, all of these claims of unmarked graves
00:06:14.480 and burials were made with ground-penetrating radar technology. Not a single body has been found in any
00:06:22.000 excavation attempts. But that didn't stop almost every single news outlet from reporting on mass graves
00:06:28.640 being discovered across the country. However, excavations have taken place. In 2021, a series of
00:06:36.080 21 excavations in Edmonton were undertaken to try and find the remains of Indigenous children. As this
00:06:43.360 CBC article writes, 13 spots flagged by ground-penetrating radar were dug up earlier this summer.
00:06:49.520 Over the past two days, another 21 such anomalies were uncovered but only found debris. And earlier this
00:06:56.400 here, the National Advisory Committee on Residential Schools, Missing Children, and Unmarked Burials
00:07:02.240 refused to work with the International Commission on Missing Persons, a Hague-based organization designed
00:07:08.880 to help governments with identifying missing persons and exhuming mass graves. The reason why the National
00:07:15.520 Advisory Committee refused the assistance of this Hague-based group was because they were non-Indigenous.
00:07:22.080 Perhaps it was because this Hague-based organization might uncover the fact that the claims used to
00:07:28.320 label Canada as genocidal are complete nonsense. We all know what actually happened in the spring of
00:07:34.160 2021. First Nations leaders, with the help of the Canadian legacy media, the international media,
00:07:39.840 and even the federal government, would make reported findings of unmarked graves at the site of former
00:07:45.920 residential schools using ground-penetrating radar, which uncovers nothing at all, and claim that this is
00:07:51.360 evidence of the slaughter of Indigenous children. That Canada is guilty of genocide and crimes against
00:07:56.720 humanity, and therefore we must enter into a national state of mourning. And that is exactly what Canada
00:08:03.040 did. Because of the claims of unmarked graves being found at residential schools, despite there being
00:08:08.640 zero evidence to back up these claims, our country descended into chaos. 71 churches in Canada were
00:08:15.600 attacked because of these claims that have not been proven. Several of these churches were completely
00:08:20.880 razed to the ground. Most of these churches, by the way, served Indigenous Canadians. All the while,
00:08:26.640 the federal government did nothing as a national attack on Christians took place across the country.
00:08:32.880 Even worse, Justin Trudeau's former Principal Secretary Gerald Butz made excuses for the persecution of
00:08:38.480 Christians across the country during that summer of 2021, saying that it was understandable that these
00:08:45.280 churches were being razed to the ground. The Prime Minister ordered all flags across the country to be
00:08:49.680 flown at half-mast for months in a prolonged national state of mourning for claims that were unfounded
00:08:55.760 and unproven. Not only that, on Canada Day in 2021, a statue of Canada's Mother of Confederation,
00:09:02.960 our first head of state, Queen Victoria, was brutally torn down on the grounds of the Manitoba legislature.
00:09:09.600 And also, a statue of Queen Elizabeth II, our head of state at the time, was also torn down that same
00:09:16.560 day outside of the legislature, while sitting Canadian MPs cheered it on on social media. Also,
00:09:22.960 a statue of Egerton Ryerson, a man lauded by the First Nations community in his day, given the
00:09:28.000 honorary name of Chichok by an Ojibwe chief for spending a year living with the Ojibwe Cree nation,
00:09:34.960 his statue was also brutally torn down as politicians stayed silent. This is to say
00:09:40.400 nothing at all over the countless attacks and vandalism against John A. Macdonald's statues across
00:09:45.520 the country. City councils and towns voted to remove John A. Macdonald's statues because we had to
00:09:53.200 engage in a serious state of mourning, despite there being zero evidence to prove any of the claims.
00:09:57.680 If denialism of these unfounded claims of unmarked graves is violent, and as the Attorney General
00:10:03.600 says needs to be outlawed, well, there are quite a few people in this country that need to stand trial
00:10:09.200 for daring to question the narrative peddled by the federal government. Let's start with the 61
00:10:14.080 historians who are members of the Canadian Historical Association that signed an open letter criticizing that
00:10:20.080 same organization for saying that there is a scholarly consensus among historians that Canada engaged in
00:10:26.080 genocide. In this open letter, these 61 historians make mention of the fact that criticizing the narrative
00:10:32.960 being peddled by the federal government is already enough to jeopardize one's career in academia.
00:10:38.400 What about famed indigenous author and journalist Richard Wagamese? In 2008, he published a story in
00:10:45.200 the Calgary Herald titled, the good side of the residential school story is valid too. As a
00:10:51.200 journalist since 1979, he writes, I have heard people credit residential schools with the foundation for
00:10:56.800 learning that allowed them to pursue successful academic careers. My mother has never spoken to me
00:11:01.760 of abuse or any catastrophic experience at the school. She only speaks of learning valuable things
00:11:07.520 that she went on to use in her everyday life, things that make her life more efficient, effective,
00:11:12.480 and empowered. How about Dr. Chile Obo-Asuji, the former president of the International Criminal Court?
00:11:20.560 He told band chiefs in Edmonton at the National Gathering of Unmarked Burials that there was no
00:11:27.520 pathway to the International Criminal Court for the situation of the historical Indian residential school
00:11:32.800 system in Canada. What about the award-winning indigenous playwright Thompson Highway? Highway
00:11:38.640 described his residential school years as nine of the happiest years of his life. What about
00:11:45.840 Leonard Marchand, the first indigenous member of parliament and indigenous cabinet minister? In his
00:11:51.440 book, he writes that they meant well by us, they genuinely cared about us, and they all did their
00:11:57.760 duty by us as they saw fit. Dr. Ian Gentles, a distinguished professor of history at Tyndale
00:12:02.960 University, whose writing provided a lot of evidence for this video, would most certainly be
00:12:07.760 standing trial for the crime of denialism if this government had its way. Also, in the Truth and
00:12:12.880 Reconciliation Commission report, they buried positive memories from indigenous Canadians about their time
00:12:19.760 at residential schools. Would these people be charged for the crime of denialism? What about Lillian
00:12:24.640 Kennedy, who attended the Fort Alexander residential school? In the TRC report, she is quoted as saying
00:12:30.960 that she enjoyed being at the residential school. I think I learned lots from the nuns that were there,
00:12:35.920 and I got along with everybody. What about Alphonsine McNeely? She says that on the weekends,
00:12:41.200 the students at the Roman Catholic school at Aklavik used to go for school picnics. Then we'd play outside,
00:12:46.880 we'd go sliding, we'd play all kinds of games on the lake, and we'd just have fun. A woman named
00:12:53.120 Geraldine Schenguse is also quoted in the TRC report. She says that she has fond memories of
00:12:59.120 the Lestock school principal. One of the things I wanted to share about Father Desjardins was that
00:13:05.040 I really, really liked him, she says. He treated us good. He was the principal of the school, and that,
00:13:12.080 I know, he meant in his heart to take care of the kids. Just the staff that were there didn't.
00:13:17.760 So I wonder if these three women, who are quoted as having fond memories of the residential school time,
00:13:22.800 which apparently is genocidal, would be tried for the crime of denialism. You know who wouldn't be
00:13:27.680 tried for denialism in Canada? Every single member of parliament in Ottawa, including the conservatives,
00:13:33.280 who unanimously passed a motion calling the residential school system genocide. Making it
00:13:38.800 illegal to question that for which we don't have the evidence to support is not just wrong,
00:13:43.680 it's completely absurd. When the government decides to ban free speech and criminalize thought,
00:13:48.960 I have no doubt in my mind that that government is not telling the truth.
00:13:53.040 Alright everyone, that's going to do it for us today on the show. Thank you so much for tuning in.
