00:00:00.000 The reaction in Canada from the political left to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump
00:00:11.200 and the killing of an innocent Trump supporter over the weekend is exactly what you likely
00:00:15.680 predicted it to be. We had everything from conspiracy theories to discussions about how
00:00:20.720 Trump had it coming to outright disappointment that the shooter missed his target. Two Canadian
00:00:27.660 university professors humiliated themselves over the weekend when they publicly lamented that Donald
00:00:33.180 Trump wasn't fatally shot. The reaction was so harsh that they had to delete their tweets and
00:00:39.100 restrict their ex-accounts. None of that really matters because one thing we should all know by
00:00:43.700 now is that the internet is forever. People don't forget. And on this show we will be dissecting the
00:00:49.000 reaction throughout Canada to the fatal shooting at Donald Trump's Pennsylvania rally. Before we do
00:00:55.020 that however be sure to drop a like on this video. Help us out by subscribing to the TrueNorth YouTube
00:00:58.820 channel. And the common question for the episode is this. How do you think the Trump rally shooting
00:01:05.260 will impact the U.S. presidential election? Let me know your answer in the comments below and let's
00:01:10.420 get into it. We all know the left loves to engage in cancel culture especially university professors.
00:01:16.680 It seems to be their favorite hobby especially over the past five to six years now. Cancel culture
00:01:22.380 comes for every conservative at some point and some more than others. So let's return the favor on
00:01:30.020 this show today shall we? Let's begin with UBC professor Karen Pinder who has thoroughly humiliated
00:01:38.340 herself and the university she works for over the weekend. As far as we can tell Dr. Karen Pinder is
00:01:45.680 still employed at the University of British Columbia but for how long we just aren't sure. She's a
00:01:51.140 professor of teaching at UBC but it seems she may require some time on the other side of the classroom
00:01:57.660 when it comes to social media. Because just hours after the fatal shooting at the Donald Trump rally
00:02:04.060 in Pennsylvania where an innocent Trump supporter, a firefighter, a father of two young daughters,
00:02:12.000 was killed. Dr. Karen Pinder went to social media and just couldn't help herself but lament the fact
00:02:18.660 that the shooter missed his target. As she wrote in a now deleted tweet, damn so close too bad. So close
00:02:26.160 in fact so close that an innocent man had his life taken from him for just going to a political rally.
00:02:33.800 And then a woman with what appears to be five needles in her Twitter username. Now that's now become the sign
00:02:42.000 of someone who's, you know, making a parody account of these freaks. But this woman here, IRA Monty
00:02:48.400 responded the exact same way. Damn it, so close. And now he'll milk being a victim for more votes. I really
00:02:56.860 wish the person had better aim. You know, you just don't have to respond to everyone on social media who
00:03:02.180 writes a comment underneath your posts. But Dr. Karen Pinder, she went back again and doubled down.
00:03:10.840 What a glorious day this could have been. I mean, what else can you really say? It's disgusting.
00:03:16.640 But more so, it shows how a lot of these people actually think. And not just what they think about the
00:03:23.900 former president of the United States, the current Republican nominee for president, but maybe what they think about
00:03:29.720 Republican voters. It'd be what they think about conservative voters in Canada. You would have to
00:03:34.980 be so convinced that you're on the right side of history, you're on the right side of a political
00:03:39.520 argument to lament the fact that a presidential candidate nearly died and that the shooter didn't
00:03:47.500 have better aim. What would Dr. Karen Pinder say if this happened to the conservative leader,
00:03:53.480 to Pierre Polyev? What would Dr. Karen Pinder have said had the shooter not missed his target
00:03:59.240 by millimeters. The unfortunate reality is that Dr. Pinder is likely not the only professor at UBC
00:04:06.820 or any other university in Canada who genuinely feels this way. I'm sure that if she knew she stood
00:04:12.620 alone, she wouldn't be posting about it on social media. You also had University of Guelph professor
00:04:18.060 Shoshana Jacobs from the Guelph Department of Integrative Biology, who wrote this on Twitter
00:04:24.720 in the aftermath of the Trump shooting, when four inches really matters. But Jacobs went even further
00:04:32.300 than Dr. Karen Pinder. Jacobs laughed. She laughed about the death of Corey Comprator,
00:04:39.980 the Pennsylvania firefighter who lost his life. He's dead, she responded. Someone else writes,
00:04:45.860 no, but someone who was standing behind him is. Others are injured. But what do you care about human
00:04:50.920 life? If they disagree with you, they should die, right? And then she just responds with this picture
00:04:57.240 of a woman laughing, laughing about the death of an innocent man. Again, I ask what you think Shoshana
00:05:04.180 Jacobs' reaction would have been had this happened to someone in Canada who they disagree with. These
00:05:09.960 are people who are entrusted with instructing the next generation of leaders in our country. Both
00:05:15.600 University of Guelph and the University of British Columbia are respected universities. But this is
00:05:20.920 the thinking that we see inside university faculties. This is genuinely what these professors believe.
00:05:28.040 They wouldn't just be tweeting about it if they didn't feel it deep in their hearts. If they didn't
00:05:33.100 really wish death upon their political enemies. To actually laugh about the death of an innocent person
00:05:41.220 who attended a Trump rally. And if they are so emboldened so as to be wishing death upon their
00:05:46.460 political enemies. Think about what they've been teaching and saying over the past 10 years.
00:05:52.260 Imagine what these professors think in their heads about their own students who dare to issue a
00:05:57.580 contrarian opinion. Who dare to utter a conservative thought in their classes. Now I don't know about you,
00:06:02.680 but I would never say something like this about someone who I disagreed with politically. And I think
00:06:07.340 we'd all be kidding ourselves if we didn't at least outline that there was a clear difference
00:06:11.640 between how the left and how the right react to these incidents. There is a fundamental difference
00:06:17.620 between the right and the left in the United States and in Canada. And we're seeing that now
00:06:21.820 play out in front of our eyes. One of the most embarrassing cases of Trump derangement syndrome
00:06:27.040 we have seen in Canada has come from Andrew Coyne, the anti-social yob guy on the CBC,
00:06:33.460 a Globe and Mail columnist as well. In many cases, they're not even truckers at all.
00:06:38.060 They're basically a bunch of, you know, anti-social yob's. Andrew Coyne likely thinks about Donald
00:06:45.360 Trump every single moment of his life. At least that's how it comes across when he goes onto social
00:06:50.680 media. And predictably, one of the worst takes we've seen from the Canadian media has come from
00:06:57.420 Mr. Anti-Social Yob Guy himself. Take a look at his reaction just hours after the Trump shooting.
00:07:04.880 Andrew Coyne's reaction wasn't about sadness that an innocent man lost his life. It wasn't about
00:07:10.160 concern that Donald Trump may have life-threatening injuries. Andrew Coyne hates Donald Trump with every
00:07:16.960 fiber of his being. His main concern was actually that Trump was going to benefit from this. And that
00:07:23.060 is a big problem for Andrew Coyne. As he writes, among the many ways this is terrible, beyond the
00:07:29.660 general rule that political violence is always wrong, it is going to make Trump even more of a
00:07:34.640 hero to his followers. The cult worship will now be off the charts. It is going to embolden and incite
00:07:40.500 his more violent followers. It is going to push some who are not disposed to violence to justify it to
00:07:46.020 themselves. It is going to be used as rhetorical ammunition against his critics, as if any of them had
00:07:51.180 ever called for violence. And it is going to make Trump even more bent on revenge if he gets elected.
00:07:56.820 So of course, Coyne just blames the victim of the shooting. Viva Frye responded,
00:08:01.940 Go to hell, Andy, you living, breathing sack of... Trump almost gets assassinated, and yet he's the
00:08:08.000 victimizer. He almost gets murdered live on TV, and his supporters are the threat. F you, you piece of
00:08:14.720 human filth. A special seat in hell awaits you. David Creighton also responded,
00:08:19.580 Shame on you, Andrew, blaming the victim. You have it backwards. It was Biden who said,
00:08:24.320 time for a bullseye on Trump. Dems have been doing this for weeks. And here's this response.
00:08:29.780 Hey, Andrew, it was Trump who was shot. It was his supporter who was killed. What part of this
00:08:34.820 assassination attempt did you miss? Do you believe it was from the right? It's media comments such as
00:08:40.800 yours that divide and enrages people. Shame on you. And here's Yukon Strong as well.
00:08:46.060 I think Andrew Coyne secretly wants Trump killed, but is too much of a coward to admit it.
00:08:52.080 Yeah, unlike those two university professors, Coyne just couldn't bring himself to write
00:08:55.660 what he likely really thinks. I want to highlight Pierre Polyev's statement in the aftermath of the
00:09:01.200 Trump shooting, because every Canadian leader and premier wrote a similar message. But Pierre
00:09:06.540 Polyev's got more attention than others. As he wrote,
00:09:09.120 Now, to be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of Pierre Polyev's statement here. Not for the reasons
00:09:28.560 the left is freaking out about his statement, because I felt it to be quite shallow and I felt
00:09:32.560 that it doesn't address what's really going on here. Which is, of course, the increasing polarization
00:09:37.600 we're seeing in our country and in the United States and how all of that has led to this moment
00:09:43.060 and will likely lead to, unfortunately, more moments in the future. Now, that's my reasoning
00:09:49.540 for not thinking this statement was perhaps the right approach. But to Andrew Coyne and to all the
00:09:55.040 leftists, you see, the problem for them is that Pierre Polyev said he was happy that the shooter
00:10:01.000 is dead. I, too, am happy about that. But I do find it a little strange to put it in a statement.
00:10:07.820 Not, of course, enough for me to go out and write a lengthy screed about how I disagree with Polyev's
00:10:13.940 statement here. But Andrew Coyne, of course, he is more concerned about Polyev saying that the
00:10:19.520 shooter is dead. Because Andrew Coyne really doesn't like Trump. You can read between the lines
00:10:25.580 there on what Coyne's trying to get at. But I'll read you his response, his unhinged response to
00:10:31.380 Polyev. In all the reactions from political leaders the world over, I can find no other expressing such
00:10:36.680 lip-smacking satisfaction at the violent death of another human being. While others appeal for calm,
00:10:42.720 Polyev rejoices in retribution. It's human enough in such moments to think it. But to say it,
00:10:47.860 and not in some unguarded private moment, but as the public reaction with the potential for further
00:10:52.300 violence hanging in the air of a would-be prime minister, this is not normal. It wasn't Andrew
00:10:57.160 Coyne who expressed sadness at the death of the victim. It's Andrew Coyne expressing frustration
00:11:02.320 that Polyev would take satisfaction in the shooter's death. Now, what do you think should
00:11:08.060 happen to those two university professors? I mean, imagine walking into class and having one of those
00:11:13.620 two professors teaching you. Truly unbelievable. It should be unbelievable, but it isn't. That is the
00:11:20.860 state of our universities right now. That is what many of these professors actually think.
00:11:26.660 Justifying political violence, encouraging it, and lamenting that a shooter missed his target,
00:11:33.900 and laughing about the death of an innocent man. It's all deeply disgusting.
00:11:39.900 All right, everyone, that's going to do it for us today on the show. Thank you so much for tuning in.
00:11:42.940 My name is Harrison Faulkner, and this is Radio.
