00:00:29.980 Easy, easy there.
00:00:31.520 Don't touch me.
00:00:38.400 All right, well, we are here at the Hindu Sabbath Temple in Brampton,
00:00:42.440 where on Sunday afternoon, violent clashes between Calistani protesters
00:00:47.100 and Hindu worshippers inside of this temple occurred.
00:00:52.640 Just at that entrance right there, you've seen the footage.
00:00:55.120 It was shocking scenes of religious violence in Ontario, in Canada.
00:01:00.300 Take a look.
00:01:09.360 Those clashes resulted in the condemnation from not only the Canadian Prime Minister,
00:01:14.420 but also the Indian Prime Minister and politicians across the country.
00:01:18.200 This was major news in India as well as in Canada.
00:01:21.540 A Peel police officer is currently suspended for participating in that protest on Sunday,
00:01:27.940 resulting in a situation in which many of the Hindu protesters here believe
00:01:31.480 the Peel police are operating a two-tier policing system
00:01:34.900 that the Peel police, they allege, are supporting the Calistani movement.
00:01:39.100 We're going to follow this protest for the rest of the evening,
00:01:41.860 try to speak to some of the protesters here, see what they have to say,
00:01:44.460 see what they think of the current situation between India and Canada relations,
00:01:48.820 and see where this protest goes.
00:01:50.540 We're going to talk to him. He's going to print it otherwise anyway.
00:02:14.480 No problem.
00:02:15.360 Why the reason to block the road?
00:02:17.660 Block the road to awake the government, awake the public, right?
00:02:23.440 We Hindu all together.
00:02:26.120 What do you make of the Trudeau government's response?
00:02:28.100 We want, they should be charged.
00:02:30.720 That's why we block.
00:02:32.180 Police should be charged them.
00:02:33.540 We are protesting against the Peel police,
00:02:35.740 the way how they behaved with us,
00:02:38.200 they entered the temple from ISIS,
00:02:39.940 and they, sorry.
00:02:40.780 They are partial, partial.
00:02:42.640 They are impartial.
00:02:43.740 The police is impartial.
00:02:45.280 So we are showing our anger towards the police,
00:02:47.740 how they behaved yesterday.
00:02:49.440 I have a picture of the police officer.
00:02:51.700 So doesn't the free speech count for us?
00:02:54.760 Doesn't the free speech work for us?
00:02:57.300 No, no, I think it does.
00:02:58.160 There are the culprits from Peel police.
00:03:00.320 Three police officers were involved, only one.
00:03:02.600 Who was protected?
00:03:03.180 Why did they hit us inside?
00:03:04.900 Who gave them right to hit any individual?
00:03:08.020 Who gave them right?
00:03:08.820 This is the police officer.
00:03:10.040 This is the police officer. 0.96
00:03:11.880 This is the guy who killed our Indian Hindu people.
00:03:16.100 Hindus are the most peace-loving community in Canada.
00:03:19.540 They never are part of any violence.
00:03:21.560 They never demand anything.
00:03:23.520 But, but, I know, I know.
00:03:26.520 But the right passage needs to go through.
00:03:28.660 I know what his audience watches.
00:03:30.040 I know, but he has to show what I am talking about.
00:03:33.280 Yes, he is the Indian.
00:03:34.560 To enter a holy place, we worship here.
00:03:37.500 Like, when they're going to enter in a church,
00:03:39.640 how are you going to react?
00:03:41.080 Oh, I think it's wrong.
00:03:42.120 It's wrong.
00:03:42.540 I think it's wrong.
00:03:43.020 That's why we have here.
00:03:44.180 They enter inside the temple to attack us.
00:03:46.360 He wants Hindus to be out from Canada.
00:03:46.960 He wants Hindus to be out from Canada, you know. 0.94
00:03:49.100 Have you ever seen any Hindus protesting outside,
00:03:52.360 out of there, without any reason?
00:03:54.320 He was attacked yesterday.
00:03:56.120 Our temple was attacked.
00:03:57.980 Attacking a holy...
00:03:59.100 Yes, sir.
00:04:00.040 Yeah.
00:04:00.580 Okay.
00:04:01.080 Oh, don't...
00:04:01.920 Easy, easy there.
00:04:03.160 What do you make of the police reaction from yesterday?
00:04:05.860 Man, you know 1984, yo?
00:04:08.720 Like, from Georgia, that's what the police is like.
00:04:11.040 The police is a two-tier police system.
00:04:13.620 They only go after those who they deem a threat to the state.
00:04:17.920 Let's say you go, you say something about Trudeau,
00:04:20.600 the police go after you.
00:04:21.820 You represent an ethnic cause like this, 1.00
00:04:24.040 the police also go after you.
00:04:25.680 But if you're a terrorist, they don't care. 0.74
00:04:27.660 Why don't they come and attack us now?
00:04:34.540 Like, why would they come and attack us like that?
00:04:36.860 Like, in a very sneaky manner?
00:04:38.980 The Kalisthenes yesterday. 0.91
00:04:40.060 Are they Kalisthenes cowards? 1.00
00:04:42.340 I think that's what they are. 0.98
00:04:43.520 That's who they are.
00:04:44.340 All right, so now we know that the protest is actually,
00:05:00.240 according to the protesters themselves,
00:05:01.920 a protest against the police.
00:05:03.220 And they have been walking the police back
00:05:06.460 and swarming the police, essentially.
00:05:08.280 This is unbelievable.
00:05:09.440 I have not seen this before.
00:05:10.480 So the scenes you are watching right now
00:05:18.900 are not taking place in Mumbai or New Delhi.
00:05:21.800 This is taking place currently in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
00:05:26.040 Thousands of Hindus here in Brampton have taken over the street 1.00
00:05:29.680 and are protesting against the Kalisthenes movement,
00:05:33.200 as well as the local police, the Peel police.
00:05:36.060 They accused the Peel police of supporting Kalisthenes
00:05:39.020 and two-tier policing against Hindus here.
00:05:41.980 They're now standing on top of cars, waving Indian flags
00:05:45.040 and chanting in a foreign language.
00:05:48.140 They're chanting in Hindi here.
00:05:52.240 All right, what do you make of the protests today?
00:05:56.080 It appears that the protesters here are very upset
00:05:59.240 with the Peel police and kind of swarming them
00:06:01.500 and intimidating them.
00:06:02.740 You would agree?
00:06:03.440 Yes, I absolutely agree.
00:06:05.000 And it's not just this.
00:06:07.240 We're not talking about Peel police.
00:06:08.940 I'm not personally not talking about Peel police.
00:06:11.080 But what I'm talking about is when there are protests,
00:06:14.720 I understand guys, they are Kalisthenes. 1.00
00:06:18.380 They want to say that they have their own opinion.
00:06:23.400 And I'm happy if they want to talk about
00:06:25.420 in front of Indian Consulate General,
00:06:27.280 go ahead, go there, do it, no problem.
00:06:29.620 But not in front of our temples,
00:06:31.140 not in front of the place where we do our worship.
00:06:35.080 We're not going to their place.
00:06:36.360 And I'm also telling people,
00:06:38.720 don't go up to their worship place.
00:06:41.380 No.
00:06:41.900 All right, so the crowd has walked about
00:06:44.460 maybe a kilometer down the Gore.
00:06:47.180 And there is now a Sikh Gurdwara right here.
00:06:50.100 And this crowd have walked all the way down
00:06:52.660 from their Hindu temple to the Sikh Gurdwara.
00:06:55.640 And the crowd is getting closer and closer.
00:06:58.160 This is a wild scene.
00:06:59.260 Thankfully, the protesters did not break in
00:07:01.400 and head towards a Sikh Gurdwara.
00:07:04.640 That situation was averted.
00:07:06.360 But they have now taken over the street.
00:07:08.760 This is their protest.
00:07:10.460 Do you think the police should not be protecting a Gurdwara? 0.72
00:07:17.720 No, they should be.
00:07:18.600 No, they should not.
00:07:19.500 No, they should be.
00:07:20.620 But we are already...
00:07:21.780 Why didn't they protect the temple yesterday?
00:07:24.700 And the police officer was a Khalistani officer 0.99
00:07:26.800 who was suspended today.
00:07:29.120 Our people already protecting to not go that side.
00:07:31.900 We are already going this way.
00:07:33.340 But police just came this way to protect the Gurdwara.
00:07:35.520 And remember one thing, Mr. Trudeau,
00:07:37.320 Hindus are non-violent.
00:07:39.300 People, police is biased
00:07:41.240 and they are in the favor of Khalistan.
00:07:44.680 That's not how it's supposed to be.
00:07:45.840 This needs to be destroyed and this needs to be revamped. 0.89
00:07:49.720 Khalistan is one of the worst personnel. 1.00
00:07:52.100 So is this a protest against the Pihl police?
00:07:54.560 It's a protest against Khalistan
00:07:56.220 and the Pihl police who is supporting them.
00:07:58.820 Do you think it was right to intimidate the police,
00:08:01.040 stand in front of them and shout at them?
00:08:02.460 Look, we want to tell them
00:08:03.780 that you have to be not biased.
00:08:06.200 You have to make decisions in the circumstances.
00:08:10.320 If somebody is disrespecting other religion
00:08:13.600 or other belief, that's not acceptable.
00:08:16.480 Do you think the Canadian government supports Khalistan?
00:08:18.600 100%.
00:08:19.120 The Canadian government is definitely supporting.
00:08:21.360 That's why the Khalistan is above there. 0.99
00:08:22.980 So what do you think Justin Trudeau needs to do then
00:08:25.000 to make people feel safe in this country?
00:08:27.200 To start with, name them.
00:08:29.220 To start with, name them.
00:08:30.640 Look at this amount of people.
00:08:32.600 Okay.
00:08:32.980 Thank you.
00:08:33.400 Is this called Pihl police?
00:08:35.600 Pihl police!
00:08:36.600 Pihl police!
00:08:36.880 Pihl police!
00:08:37.440 Pihl police!
00:08:38.020 Pihl police!
00:08:38.600 All right, well, this basically wraps up our coverage here
00:08:52.740 for this protest, this anti-Khalistan,
00:08:55.780 anti-Pihl police protest.
00:08:57.280 We went into this thinking it was just going to be
00:08:58.640 an anti-Khalistan protest.
00:09:00.140 It turns out they're protesting against the local police.
00:09:03.360 As you can see here, the crowd has been very angry.
00:09:06.160 They've been very upset at the police, and you can see
00:09:09.720 in the background, that is a Sikh Gurdwara.
00:09:12.840 This group of protesters has come from the Hindu temple
00:09:15.440 and walked all the way down and have basically taken over
00:09:18.260 this intersection right beside a Sikh Gurdwara.
00:09:21.460 Very minimal police presence.
00:09:23.220 Only until about an hour after the protests started moving,
00:09:26.600 now police have finally showed up to try to control this scene
00:09:30.100 because it was looking like there was going to be some problems.
00:09:32.660 If it wasn't for the protesters themselves making a human chain
00:09:36.680 to stop their own movement from going to a Sikh Gurdwara,
00:09:40.100 there could have been problems.
00:09:41.020 But to their credit, they were able to control their own crowd here.
00:09:44.060 It's a very strange situation.
00:09:45.780 If you were just watching this and you didn't know where we were,
00:09:47.920 you might think we're in a different country,
00:09:49.280 but this is in Canada right now.
00:09:51.440 But I'm telling you right now, you would not think that
00:09:53.260 based off this protest.
00:09:54.940 Signing out from Brampton for now,
00:09:57.020 Harrison Faulkner for True North.
00:09:58.180 It's a very extreme it is.
00:10:21.400 When you're seeing something similar,
00:10:24.280 it's a proud side.
00:10:25.320 When you're seeing an island,
00:10:26.620 you're facing something like this.
