00:00:41.380 I'm a researcher at Carleton, and my focus is fascism in Canada,
00:00:46.200 and the signs that I've seen that were rising that this is far more than just like a far-right transphobic protest.
00:00:52.040 They are fundamentally racist, they are fundamentally anti-union,
00:00:55.520 they are fundamentally queer and transphobic, and it's just a matter of time before they come to us.
00:01:00.560 And the only way, the best way, that the fascists have been stopped in the last hundred years

00:01:08.960 In addition to these left-wing accusations, the legacy media labeled the protests as anti-2SLGBTQIA+,
00:01:19.060 and highlighted the number of counter-protests taking place.

00:01:26.180 so I wanted to go down and get the protesters' reaction to these accusations,

00:01:36.700 or are these just parents and their allies concerned about what's going on in Canada's publicly funded schools?
00:01:43.080 I was listening to CBC on my way here, and they were saying there are anti-LGBTQ protests taking place across the country today,

00:01:51.400 Yeah, that claim is a farce, I'll be honest with you.
00:01:55.040 They said that there might be COVID, so don't go down.

00:02:02.280 There are some anti-hate groups, anti-Muslim groups, sorry, yeah, anti-Muslim groups, anti-Christian groups, and all these groups.

00:02:19.060 and it's Christians and Muslims and Buddhists and Jews and its families saying hands off our kids,

00:02:47.380 and they are actually using hate speech against us, which they are accusing us of doing, which we've never done.

00:02:57.740 We believe that every adult has a right to live their life the way that they want to,
00:03:01.580 their sexual preferences, that is up to them.
00:03:04.440 But they do not have the right to tell our children or to confuse our children from a young age.
00:03:09.180 As young as kindergarten, they are trying to tell our children that they have choices in their gender
00:03:14.720 and they're starting to sexualize them and awaken them sexually, and we do not believe that.
00:03:19.220 Let them be kids and let the parents train the children in the way that we feel that they should go.

00:03:59.440 I hope that it's all peaceful and that we can send a message that Canadians are now standing up together

00:04:12.740 you'll see that we're from all different walks of life, different ethnicities, different religions, different skin colors.

00:06:06.480 So let's go all under that flag, take away all the flags from schools and keep only the Canadian flag.
