00:00:00.000 But what I noticed is the fact that they all kind of play these identity politics game, right?
00:00:04.220 They get up to the microphone and they have to tell everyone their pronouns.
00:00:07.160 They had these equity card things, Hamish, I don't know if you caught this,
00:00:10.460 but the NDP apparently, they handed out equity cards to people who were apparently in marginalized groups.
00:00:18.340 So if you were not white, if you were not straight or not cis, whatever they call it,
00:00:25.500 if you were trans, you got a special card.
00:00:27.540 And if there was a cue at the microphone, you could just flash your card and you could come to the front of the line.
00:00:32.940 And so that was the idea. People were very angry about how some of these weren't working.
00:00:37.240 I'll just play a couple of clips here because this is very amusing.
00:00:40.700 So at one point you had a kafia-wearing woman come up and basically just give a rant about Palestine and condemning Israel as evil, exactly what you would expect. 0.93
00:00:50.120 But then interestingly, this Palestinian activist accidentally misgendered the chair, saying chairwoman, obviously the woman who was the chair was a woman, but she described herself as non-binary.
00:01:01.520 So this is just like an amusing intersectionality Olympics where you kind of like see who's the most oppressed.
00:01:07.120 This is slot six.
00:01:08.860 There's a point of privilege on microphone one, then we'll go to microphone three.
00:01:12.800 Go ahead, delegate.
00:01:14.220 Yes.
00:01:14.800 Hello.
00:01:15.180 I was standing here with my gender equity card before you called on the previous speaker.
00:01:19.280 Canada cannot and will not be part of the legacy of blood that was built in Iraq, in Palestine, and now in Iran.
00:01:30.380 This is a no-question debate.
00:01:33.020 I call this question, Madam Chair.
00:01:36.120 Thank you.
00:01:41.100 Your point's quite well made, Speaker.
00:01:44.800 I'll again thank delegates not to call me Madam Chair or Madam President.
00:01:49.280 i'm a non-binary person my pronouns are they them and their chair is sufficient
00:01:58.080 and with regret you've spoken to the resolution it's not open to you to also call the question
00:02:04.000 if the question is the will of the house someone else must call it because we heard from you in
00:02:07.920 substantive debate so this this made up basically the entire all the clips that were circulating
00:02:15.280 Here's another one of a trans identifying dude who is very upset that, again, a cisgender woman got to speak in front of him because he had his he had his equity card and equity card trumps everything else.
00:02:29.060 This is a Sot Sentinel's roller clip.
00:02:30.160 Hey, this pertains to multiple intersecting parts of my lived experience.
00:02:33.900 I'd like to speak. I was rejected when I talked.
00:02:37.720 And it's frustrating when these are my rights being directly under attack right now in Alberta
00:02:43.400 and a cisgender woman had spoken over me.
00:02:48.740 And I understand her rights are important, too. This pertains to her, too.
